Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning. Sounds like a lot of us are caught in the cold snap. It's cold but less windy. We will get into the 40's today. It should be sanding and painting day or at least the ceiling should get done unless he has some emergency. I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow, so he can finish the paint and start the tiling while I'm gone. Tiling isn't my thing. I've done it, but on a floor, never on a wall.

I am so behind on tv that I went through the DVR list and deleted a bunch of them I'm never going to get to watch. I only kept my favorites. Don has been watching a lot on Pluto or Fubu or whatever they are called. But he likes the old shows, like Renegade, Baywatch, etc, and I can't stand them. It keeps him occupied.

Off to make my grocery list and do a few chores before Dave gets here.

Have a great Wednesday

Good morning, definitely blustery here. Our recycling bin tipped over in our yard and paper things were blown all around. Thankfully the fence kept it manageable for Tom. He’s out taking Gus for bloodwork and some errands. At 11 we will be at a library cooking demo. We enjoy doing those together.

Last night we watched “A Man Called Otto” at home and enjoyed it. I don’t remember seeing a reference to it here. Tom got it out of Red Box.

Have a good day!

One of my sisters went to see this movie when it came out and loved it. After seeing the movie, her and my other 2 sisters read the book. They highly recommend the book. I'm not a big reader but I will watch the movie when it hits Netflix.

Let us know what you guys make. Sounds fun!

I agree with this. I almost got hit yesterday while sitting at a red light. I was making a right hand turn but there was traffic. The person behind me didn't want to wait and went around me, never slowed down and went through the red light narrowly missing the car that was coming. If they had collided, one of them would have gone into my car based on the angles.
That's crazy! When Mitchell started driving a few years ago, I would always tell him to be careful, he would just roll his eyes. One day he said that he knows why I say that when he leaves. He then told me about a couple of drivers that he saw that day. I told him now he could stop rolling his eyes at me when I tell him something.

I only kept my favorites.
Which ones did you end of keeping? Btw, loved the picture for today.

I loved the picture too. I kept my Million Little Things, Grey's, Quantum Leap, and Station 19, Good Doctor, Survivor, and all the Chicago's. I got rid of all the Law and Orders, FBI, and other random shows I thought I'd watch but couldn't get into.

Todays program

He began with the Lucky charms treats! They were quite sticky. He used parchment paper when he pressed the mixture into pan.

He sliced the ham before putting it in the pot.He kept the skin on the red potatoes for the ham and cabbage. He quartered the potatoes. He used a very deep pot. The bacon was cut widthwise before frying in the pot and the ham was browned a bit with the bacon and fat… then the potatoes and cabbage were added to be browned just a bit.
Finally the stock was added. Water added to be sure everything was under water. That is important.

Now the champ
Yukon Gold is used for color. He does not add butter to end.

I loved today’s picture, too. :lovestruc

Just a quick hello. My week was thrown off by spending the night in the ER w DH Monday, into yesterday. All is good, just a scare, but man, it takes a lot out of you. So a lot to do today before I start some shifts tomorrow.

Have a good Wednesday, everyone! 🐥 PS One of the dogs had played with a bunny that fell off my shelf I was upset when I thought it was my Quacker duck, but it wasn’t. (Phew!) It was the bunny, and he’s ok, just had to retie his bow.

That "bunny duck" is adorable, Pea! Glad your DH is OK!!

Just a quick hello.

I know I have been posting about how upset I have been since November when my hard drive crashed, then finding out my Scotland pictures seemed to be lost forever. I found a recovery program that came with my memory card. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning getting the gift they wanted more than anything in the world. I was able to recover ALL of my Scotland pictures and a few others I didn't realize were on the memory card. They downloaded in triplicate so I am trying to clear out the extras but I am so excited I had to share.

Hope you all have a day as great as I am having,

Good Morning from dry at the moment LA,

Dad just went out briefly to pick up some library 📚, go to 99 Cent Only Store and possibly also Rite Aid. I'm wearing my nightshirt, grateful to not be cold and to have gotten a good night's sleep. I truly pray each of you, extra to Footballmouse, Lynn, and PollyannaMom, that all three of you at last caught some restful 💤

Snowysmom, if I lived closer to you, I would enjoy helping you pick out finishes and of course, most of all, just be able to give you a :hug:in person. Grateful always to God that He gave you such a loving and supportive family. June❄️I pray is brighter :sunny:both in weather and more so by then in your ❤️

Footballmouse, I loved that Mia cheered along with you for Evan ⚽Does his team wear jerseys or any type of T shirt with their name on it? If so, maybe Mia could wear one, too. ITA about driving in the snow or heavy rain here, being a safe idea! you, please remember that also!

:grouphug:Taz and thank God you weren't hit! How scary though! I really do pray that people would take extra care on the road:car:Streets are not a raceway! I am not a cold fan as you know and wouldn't want to be outside especially out there in true winter either. Glad you are cheering for Anthony in warmth instead! 🏠ETA: :cheer2:what a wonderful update! I'm so happy for you, my friend! I would love to see a Scotland picture or two if you want to share with us. I know James Herriot didn't work in Scotland but I always think of him when that area of the world comes to mind.

I also need to scroll through some DVR-ed shows and delete some, Lynn. I still, PollyannaMom, need to check out the Way Home!📺I'm really looking forward to doing so just seem to never do! So, in a little while, i will and then dad and I can perhaps watch it together this afternoon. I hope you enjoy a good show today, my friend and as always in better health and Don, too!

Bobbiwoz, I'm sorry Tom had that clean-up to do, glad it was semi contained at least. 🙏for Gus:dog:Enjoy your cooking class. That's a blessing to have a free library event that both you and Tom can enjoy together. I never heard of Lucky Charms treats, they sound fun though. I hope they turn out tasty :)

:grouphug:Pea and thank God your DH is okay. I'm so sorry you both had that scare! Many 🙏to both you and your DH for a much more healthy, calm, and peaceful rest of the week!

Please stay warm friends and take care! I will check back in later.

The Champ was delicious. My favorite of this presentation. The ham dish was tasty including the cabbage which was not over cooked.

Good afternoon thread save!

Glad you enjoyed some foods from the cooking presentation, Bobbiwoz :)

Dad, thankfully, most of all, is safely long home. He was able to save us money at Rite Aid and also got needed items from 99. What brought us both extra cheer is that he was able to give cookies we had baked yesterday to a librarian as a thank you for all they have done at this branch (closest to us) during the pandemic. Dad said they were thrilled, praise God. As a bonus gratitude, dad encountered only a bit of rain. At the moment, I think, all is dry. Quiet afternoon around here.

Have a warm and happy rest of the day, everyone.

Sanding was all done this morning. He had such a headache that he left to go home and sleep for a few hours. He's on his way back now to at least get the ceiling painted. He wants to do the walls too, but I don't think there's enough daylight left, and since he doesn't have any of the lights hooked up in the bathroom yet, he would only be painting by a work light. The elec is all wired, but he didn't want to put the outlets or switches in until the walls were painted and tiled.

Have a nice evening.

🙏for Dave to feel better, Lynn. I'm so glad he continues to make good progress though. May you and Don also enjoy a relaxing good evening:hug:

Not even 3:30 here yet feels so much later already. All is quiet and well, thanks to God, on the LA front :)

Have a good rest of the day, everyone :)

@Pea-n-Me Glad your DH is doing well and he is taking health issues seriously by getting checked out. Lucky for him he has a great DW and nurse to help him. I love the bunny duck picture.

Lynn your project sounds like it is coming along and Dave is a hard worker.

@flyingdumbo127 Baking cookies for everyone is so kind.

Tazdev Nice that you saved your Scotland pictures. I am sure those are amazing. One of my bucket list destinations.

I do not like the darkness in the mornings. I leave to go to the office now in the dark. I know eventually it will be light again and I can't wait.

Jetblue changed our flight from Boston to Orlando in May. We now leave right after noon time. My friend needs to get to Logan Express from near Lake Winnepesaukee. Our original flight was 3:30 pm and it just kept getting pushed earlier. There isn't another flight that works for us. I will have to leave Kenny's at 8 am to get where I need to be. Oh well, we will deal with it. We can check into the hotel and figure out where to have dinner. Then we can have an early night before heading to the port the next morning.

Have a good day. Off to work and then to see my DDIL about the cabinets etc at the new condo.

Good Thursday morning!pluto:

Went to Evan's soccer game last night ⚽. I'm determined to not sit at home after work every day like I've been doing. Next week I'm either going to walk in the neighborhood (depending on the weather) or I'm going to the gym. I've been a slug all winter.

I'm off this weekend so I think I'll try to meal prep. I'm planning to clean the house real good on Saturday. I asked the kids if they wanted to go to the movies on Sunday. There's a movie out called Champions that I'd like to see. It's about a basketball team so I think my boys would like it. I feel bad b/c I didn't ask Evan. I know Bailey is working and they don't have a sitter besides me so he would need to find someone to watch Mia.

Tonight is garbage night so I'll need to get that and the recycling out. I'll start my laundry since I need to go downstairs anyway to clean the litter boxes. I also need to check my cabinet downstairs to see if they all brought their Easter baskets back from last year 🐰. I'm not buying new ones, so if they didn't return theirs then no basket for them this year.

Guess I should get to work since people will start rolling in soon. Have a great day!

Good morning all

Sunny and 65 today. The reverse of yesterday. It took until 9 last night, but the painting is all done. Today while I'm going grocery shopping, he will finish the electrical, put up the light and the mirror, and cut the trim. And the heater/fan/light is plugged in and working. LED lights in it are blinding, lol. I have to have him take the cover off and change it to bright white instead of daylight.

Then the tiling gets done, and the trim gets installed. Then the vanity, toilet, and things like the towel bars, toilet paper holder, etc.

@Pea-n-Me Glad your husband is doing better, cont'd prayers.
Have to get moving. Have a great day

It’s nicer here in Cape May because wind has calmed!

Tom is having a nuclear test on his thyroid now.

@Pea-n-Me , glad your DH is a bit better!

@footballmouse , CBS did a Sunday Morning piece about “Champions” and we want to see it too! Let us know how you enjoy it.

I too have said prayers this morning for all here.

A very happy note , DS and DDiL are here for a bit. Drove down from MA and are sleeping upstairs for a bit. DDiL will be visiting friends, and DS will be with us, and will do some garden work for us. Our soil lacks some nutrients, and Tom has bought what the Rutgers Extension Service recommended.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning!
I am forcing myself to get out of the house today. Actually my sister is forcing me. We are going to a few stores. I need semi-dress pants, and being plus size and short makes that quite difficult.
Today is Kris’s birthday, compounding the difficult. We usually celebrated both of our birthdays together because they are exactly a week apart. We’ll see if I can get through the shopping trip without breaking down. I told my sister we would turn around and come home if I can’t do it.

prayers for all

It's nice that your sister is looking out for you by wanting to keep you company today.
