PrayGood Morning Everyone,

🙏This Holy Season of Lent strengthens your walk of faith. I will be watching later or tomorrow, depending on service time, an Ash Wednesday service online.

Footballmouse, I love that your hospital offers Ashes throughout the day. Do they also have a service or give you any type of prayer/meditation booklet?:grouphug:I'm sorry about your lack of a salary increase, how frustrating indeed. Grateful that you have options of people to talk to about salary increase policy. As always, my sincere thanks to you for the compassionate and thorough care you give to all.:dogdance:prayers continuing, too.

PollyannaMom, prayers this message finds you and your 🐈warm and well, enjoying a wonderful Wednesday, too. Have you watched any good Hallmark movies lately? I have been keeping a look out for a good new movie to record. Thank you:hug:I of course, in general, always appreciate your opinion and forever appreciate dear You!

Snowysmom:grouphug:as always I continue to be so thankful to God that He brought such a wonderful therapist into your life. She absolutely sounds like a lovely person to confide in. Hooray for ::MickeyMo🛳️planning. What an extra blessing for both you and your friend to set sail together. I'm so glad you have this adventure to look forward to!

Lynn, 🙏you got some 🛌last night! Great idea to call Dave to have him check on your new fixtures before moving further along. Prayers that they are just fine and that he is able to get going on your bathroom remodel. Always happy to hear you will have a 🛍️companion and someone extra to spend time with. Of course, your SIL is so very blessed to get to share extra time with you!

Bobbiwoz, :thanks:for sharing the name of the reflections that you will be reading. I will look that up. On my library saved list, I had something new to me called Daily Guideposts: 40 devotions for Lent. Just realized there are no copies of it. I'll definitely look into the title you shared. I love how you said that this season is a journey, indeed it is.
May you and all of our Quacker family experience renewal in it.

Pea, what what special 🖼️to have. Prayers you and your family are able to one day have another memorable and fun ::MickeyMocruise trip. Meantime, please take care and feel better. Bigtime healing prayers, my friend.

Dad has headed to a Dollar Tree:car:to pick up our two ordered and arrived cases of Aquarelle hand wipes. I was thinking last night how three years ago, we never would have been :cheer2:for that. I pray to no longer be taking any needed supply for granted! I'm waiting for Sandro, our Sparkletts delivery man to come. Trying to keep warm. Nightshirt time shortly :)

:hug:to each of you. Have a blessed and happy Wednesday.

I am going on the Wish. I read complaints but I think the first year is the adjusting year for a new ship. I go into this with an open mind and looking to have a good time.
Absolutely! No doubt most will love it. It seems like people who have been on the other ships are confused at how the layout was changed a bit, and that there aren’t as many elevators. The good thing I’ve seen is that the Adults Only area is isolated so that there aren’t as many people passing through it. I like reading reviews to see what it’s all about and they can really get picky about things. Being on any of the ships is special, for sure.

@Pea-n-Me , Our January cruise was on the Fantasy, and it was a Pixar themed cruise. However for me, there was not enough of the Pixar movies namely Up and Coco. We have not been on the Wish yet. We had signed up for its Maiden Voyage, but when the dates were changed for it, it was on the same dates that our Family Cruise was on! We had wanted to treat our Boston area family to one more DCL Cruise, so we cancelled the Maiden Voyage. One great outcome of our cancellation was DCL gave us a 50% credit towards a Future Cruise. So, in May, we are on the Eastbound Transatlantic for half price!

The DVC Member Cruise this September is on the Wish, so that’s when we’ll sail it for the first time!

The only "cruises" I've ever been on are Small World and Jungle! Not sure I would enjoy being on a ship for an extended period but the idea has always sounded intriguing. Safe and fun travels to all of you planning to set sail this year. I of course look forward to hearing about your adventures and seeing pictures, too.

Dad got our wipes along with some other things at Dollar Tree including the exact same can opener we bought for much more than $1.25 recently on Amazon. He got a spare at the much better price today! No Sandro yet. Waiting on expected Amazon and possibly Target packages to come later today.

I hops all of you so far are having a great and warm Wednesday.

That sounds wonderful! (I didn’t realize you have family in the Boston area!) Those cancellations are tough. We were booked on Fantasy and had to cancel. It’s too bad there wasn’t more Pixar on your cruise! I love Coco and Up, too!

PS I remember before we even had kids my coworker took hers on The Big Red Boat! It was sad to see it docked and practically scrapped one time when we were in Freeport, Bahamas. But boy, was it small compared to the newer ships! (I bet maybe some of you were on it?)

ETA This is fun:

Not really. I watched a mystery one on Lifetime the other day, but mostly I've been watching YouTube, news/Chronicle/stuff like that, and the few of my regular shows that have come back from winter break so far. I want to be more intentional about making time for movies, though. I have so many written on a list, and so few crossed off it. :rotfl:

Made appt's for both my pneumonia and shingles shots, pneumonia this Friday afternoon, and shingles next Thursday afternoon. I've heard about the possible side effects of the shingles shot, but not much on pneumonia. I'm getting them both regardless due to health concerns but I'm curious, have any of you ever had any side effects from the pneumonia one?

Man what a long day, was on the road at 5:15 this morning and it's only 2 pm here. I'm headed out around 4:15 to go to a 5 pm appt. and then I hope to be home by about 6:15 or so. I'm going to be really lazy and slip into pajamas as soon as I get home, THEN worry about dinner!

Good afternoon.

Dreary day here which fit my mood earlier. Jim had the second surgery and seems to have gone OK. He said he still can't really see much but the haze is gone. I think I was relieved to hear that since I was really worried he would think he could drive again. I just hate this drs. practice and surgery center. They act as though I am not there or important and it really bothers me.

The trip to the shore Monday had its moments but overall was nice. My granddaughter decided we needed to go to Atlantic City for a Croc outlet. She had money for the white crocs she wants. There is NO parking in Atlantic City so I found a McDonalds. I was going to get something there but the lines were out of the door. I sat in the car and waited.

We started down the Ocean drive for a scenic route and stopped to see Lucy the Elephant in Margate.
_DSC0002 (1).JPG

Then we had to head back to Atlantic City because Ella grabbed a Men's Size 7 Crocs not a women's. I wasn't happy and the scenic drive was gone. I wanted to head to Cape May and Sunset Beach. Ella doesn't remember going there when she was younger and to be honest, I have avoided Cape May for a number of years. My aunt/Godmother lived in Cape May and there are some bad memories from when she died and her housekeeper who managed to steal everything from the family by changing my aunt's will right before she dies. The housekeeper didn't even contact to let us know my aunt had passed away. I found out on google looking for an uncle's funeral arrangements a month later. The housekeeper had the will probated and settled before we even knew she had passed away. Anyway we did get to the beach and I checked out the state of the Concrete Ship, It is not doing so great. I was always fascinated by it when I was younger.

_DSC0007 (1).JPG

Some information on it
_DSC0021 (1).JPG

There was a lot of shells, seaweed and other types of debris on the beach and it was rather chilly so we didn't stay long. I did stop in the shop and get a shell for the bathroom shelf, so I was happy. Then we headed up to Wildwood which is my happy place when I can't get to Disney. I went there every summer with my grandmother and it really does bring me peace. We walked the beach, looked for shells and found a lot of Horseshoe Crabs, pieces and a few whole ones. I came home with a bag of shells. Not all the type I was hoping for but it was fun. To give you an idea of how dreary the day was
_DSC0054 (1).JPG

In just a couple of months the boardwalk will be bustling with crowds, so this is actually very peaceful. We stopped at the fudge place I have gone too since I was very little. They have been there since 1926. I got some fudge, just a 1/2 pound but no chocolate covered bacon. They were completely sold out from the weekend. I was a little saddened by that because I LOVE that bacon. By this point we needed to get going as I had to meet someone halfway home at a Wawa. Ella found UGGS for $50 on Facebook Marketplace that were new. I owed her a Birthday present anyway so I bought them for her. She was happy. We stopped at a diner on the way home for dinner and I wound up with breakfast for dinner since I couldn't have the sides sue to my newfound seafood allergy.

All in all it was a great day, but I need to go again when the weather gets a little warmer.

@Pea-n-Me - I stopped by the Aldi around the corner from me and found the Marsala sauce there. I hope to try it this week. I was happy anyway, strawberries were on sale for $1.79. Jim loves them with his lunch and they had yogurt which I couldn't find yesterday.

Hope you all have a nice day.

I hope you like the sauce, taz! And glad Jim’s vision is better. Thanks for the Atlantic City talk, it brings back memories for me. We vacationed there a lot when I was young, and my father actually lived there for a time when his business sold to a NJ company, so I spent vacations and summer time there, too. I remember my sister and I renting two person bikes to ride the boardwalk first thing in the morning. So peaceful, with the smell of peanuts roasting. Always saw shows at the Steele Pier - even had my pic taken once with Danny Bonaduce of the Partridge Family. (Was mortified but my father practically pushed me into him, lol. Low-key had gotten a big kick out of that story). It wasn’t until after those years that the casinos came in, which I’ve never actually seen. Last I looked it seemed a little sketchy. There was even a murder in the hotel we used to stay in! I‘d been thinking about taking DH and the kids for a trip there once but when I looked it up I was like :scared1: :lmao:

The Making of the Disney Wish is showing now showing on Disney Plus.
I watched this about a month ago on Discovery Channel. It was very interested, so much thought goes into the theming inside the ship.

Do they also have a service or give you any type of prayer/meditation booklet?
They did offer a service in the chapel earlier in the day but I wasn't able to get there.

Our first cruise was on the Disney Magic. OMG, my kids had so much fun, they loved the kid's club. I didn't see them for most of the cruise. I think they only ate dinner with us once. Evan was 18 so he was too old for the kid's club but not old enough for the bars. I'm not sure he had as much fun as his brothers. I would definitely go back!

Dad is home and did get our Aquarelle all 48 of them. Two, cases of 24 packages of antibacterial wipes each. We are in good hand wipe shape. We use these wipes for our hands, of course, along with mail and other cleaning that doesn't require a disinfecting wipe. Try to save money that way. He's considering going out this afternoon to at last get his haircut and possibly use his $5 birthday reward at Old Navy. I'm hoping he chooses to just stay home. The weather definitely seems to be turning here and getting cooler. Very windy. Sandro didn't come but a nice substitute Sparkletts man did so we got our water. Otherwise, all is quiet around here.

Thanks, PollyannaMom. I'm also trying to be more selective in 📺movie choices. I hope you have been enjoying some good shows :)

Easyas, 🙏your upcoming shots all go well. Dad did have a very sore arm after his flu shot. He also, as shared, may have gotten the flu anyway :( So many prayers, of course, you have no negative reactions or anymore illness! Please get some rest! Wow what a long day you've had.
Pea, what nice memory:beach:I've only ever read about East Coast boardwalk touristy places in books or seen them on TV. Always do sound fun. Out here when I was growing up (long redone now) we had a place called Ports of Call that offered some smaller shops along with a similar area in San Deigo called Seaport Village. I went to Santa Monica Pier a few times and other area beaches but nothing like a full-on getaway. I truly hope this afternoon finds you feeling better.

🙏continuing for you and Jim, Taz! I'm so glad you had a good trip despite the dreariness to Atlantic City. Prayers you get back in some :sunny:.Thank you for all the pictures and sharing :)

Footballmouse, I'm sorry you didn't make it to the ⛪type service at work. Truly great it was offered. Aw, sounds like your family had such a fantastic time. I'm so glad, my friend to hear that.

Enjoy the rest of the afternoon, everyone.

Page 2 thread save!

Windy and cool later afternoon here. AuntieMe3🙏you are cozy at home and will also stay that way and dry 🌧️over the weekend. Dad did stay home thankfully this afternoon. He's doing laundry and Ralphs shopping tomorrow so he can stay home Friday and Saturday. That will be wonderful for him to have 2 days in a row at home especially in rainy weather.

Another afternoon blessing in addition to the above is being able to share with all of you the kindness of dad's new current dentist, Dr. C who dad has seen twice and really likes. Dr. C, has offered to give me a free second opinion in a couple of weeks! What a gift. It'll be exactly what I wanted, a simple quick visual only check. I will be able to email him briefly some specifics in advance and the peace of mind from seeing him will be very welcome. What a truly kind gift. We're going to bake cookies the day before as a small thank you. I will keep all of you posted on how my visit goes.

Wishing all of you a cozy and relaxing evening.

@flyingdumbo127 How nice of the dentist to give you a second opinion. He is truly kind.

It is an icy, snowy mess here right now. I have to go into the office but will work from the condo until I feel that the roads are treated. I take the highway one exit down to get there so it is not bad.

Tomorrow I will be seeing 3 condos. I have the day off so it worked out. One is in a town I never really thought of but it is only 18 minutes from Kenny, country, but near shopping and restaurants. This has oil heat which I am not a fan of. I like natural gas. But, not a deal breaker if it speaks to me. One is new construction just 15 minutes from Kenny. It has well water which alot of towns do have in central MA. The other one is about 18 minutes from Kenny the other way from the first one. It has been on the market for a while, went contingent at one point, and the came back onto the market. My agent did get me info on why it was relisted so it is worth a look. Not sure any of these will be the one but every one I look at is a learning experience.

Have a good day. Those in the bad weather area, stay safe.

Good morning, and welcome to Summer. We are supposed to hit 80 degrees today. February weather has been crazy! dropping to half of that for the entire weekend.

Got all errands and shopping done yesterday. Milk and egg prices were down, everything else was up again. The only part of going shopping with my Sister in Law is that they take forever, she is the slowest shopper I have ever seen. It was so odd pulling into Walmart's parking lot. It had rained and the parking lot was wet. There were at least 2 dozen seagulls flying around. They were flying really low, landing on the roof's of cars, and calling out to each other. I think they thought the parking lot must have looked like water, but why they were so far away from the ocean is beyond me. They must have taken a wrong turn somewhere. People were standing there with camera's taking pictures and videos.

I called Dave while we were out and asked him to open those boxes and make sure both were totally intact. I am guessing he's probably installing a roof today while the weather is warm and dry. Hopefully by next week he'll be able to carve out a few days to get our bathroom done.

Today I am going to wash windows, and give the cats all baths. That in itself is a project, lol!

@Snowysmom --Good luck with the condo search today. We all know you'll find the right one eventually. It will just speak 'home' to you and that will be it!

Have a lovely day everyone.

Good very chilly morning from LA,

I'm wearing my nightshirt and it's still a dash chilly in here, prayers each of you are keeping warm and well!

Thank you, Snowysmom. I look forward to meeting dad's dentist. I will be emailing him on Monday. He doesn't work on Fridays. 🙏on all three condos today. ITA with Lynn that you will absolutely find the right new home!

PollyannaMom, I sure pray it doesn't ❄️The only time I ever remember seeing snow anywhere near me was years ago when I was growing up one evening dad and I had gone to a Toys R Us. When we came back to our car, the roof was dusted in snow. Where AuntieMe3 lives might just see snow. AuntieMe3, stay extra warm please! I may be getting my comforter out this weekend!

Lynn, I'm glad some prices surprised you in a pleasant lower way yesterday and of course am sorry about the ones that didn't. Prices are still consistent pretty much here. Prayers for clean 🐈to go smoothly and you and Don to have a good day!

Dad is at the laundromat right now. All is dry at the moment too which is a blessing. I'm truly thankful he will be able to stay home tomorrow and Saturday.

:grouphug:to all and stay warm and well friends! I will check back later.

I checked out the state of the Concrete Ship
My Dad built a boat out of concrete, well really it was ferrocement, but concrete. It was a 52' double masted schooner and he sailed in many state side and a few international races in it when I was a kid & teenager. He donated it to a museum in New England and it's there now.
Jim had the second surgery and seems to have gone OK.
I'm glad to read the second surgery went well. I'm sure he - and you - are happy to have it behind him now.
Dr. C, has offered to give me a free second opinion in a couple of weeks!
That was nice of the Dr.
Tomorrow I will be seeing 3 condos.
Good luck on your 'shopping' trip tomorrow. I hope you see something that speaks to you.
Good morning, and welcome to Summer. We are supposed to hit 80 degrees today.
It is so nice outside - I took trash out to the big bin outside the shop purely to go outside and get a bit of fresh air and enjoy the sun. I went home at lunch and let the pups out for the afternoon, as well as turned off the heat and opened a few windows. I wanted to take advantage of the chance to air out the house a bit. Of course, it will be about 45 degrees colder by Saturday here. There is a meander thru the woods with the pups in my future this afternoon once I get home for sure!

I had to hold my temper a few minutes ago, I was responding to a thread about airlines and families sitting together- What's the phrase????
1677182703975.jpeg
I just have so little patience for things these days. I think I'm getting prematurely curmudgeonly :P

Dinner this evening? I think I may pop a pot pie in the oven prior to embarking on the above mentioned meander.
