Good evening. Mona I hope you and your Dad feel all better soon. Too bad about the chocolate chips.

Pea I hope the itchiness goes away. I hope you can figure out what caused it. Grady is so sweet. He likes to be with his people.

Thinking of dazedx3 and Frog. :grouphug:

I am at Kennys and will stay the night. I do have to go to jury duty. I suspect you only get let off if there are no cases being heard that day. I feel like the past 15 months have been a no win situation for me so I am not surprised. Oh well, I get to drive in rush hour traffic on route 9 to a court house. Fun and games. I am leaving very early to get parking and then I will just read my book. The condo has 2 showings tomorrow so I want to go back there and make sure everything is fine. My agent knows the 2 agents who are bringing clients to see it so she vouches for them. I told her I was leery of people being in my place. I am just going to have to see how jury duty works out to see if going back to the condo tomorrow night will work out for me. I think life can stop beating me up any time now. I am always in reactive mode.

Have a good night all.

Wound up making the chicken cutlets the way I saw someone do them yesterday. They were really good. I bought a pkg of just three chicken breasts. We sliced them in half lengthwise (flat) and thinned them out, then cut the bigger ones in half diagonally. Put them all in a bowl and cracked two eggs and swished them around. Then dipped each piece in a mixture of Italian bread crumbs and parmesan cheese and shook off the excess. Put some olive oil and a little butter in a large saucepan and let it get hot, then sautéed the chicken in there until done. Pretty simple. Said we’re going to do this more often. (We usually marinate and grill.)

Best wishes to everyone here, saying prayers for all of you.

I am having a really hard week, maybe the visit out of town was too soon. I just keep crying, thinking about how the future without Kris will look. I miss him so much. I think reality has set in, and I don’t like it at all.

Good evening.

Almost bedtime but I wanted to check in before I go. Unlikely I will be keeping up here. Packing is done and we leave in the morning.

when do you leave on your trip?
Thursday morning and the cruise leaves Sunday from Miami.

Going to have to look up a recipe.
The tortellini soup Sarah made was a WW recipe. It had spinach, zucchini, chicken stock, and some other stuff.

Too bad Dolly didn't do well with the nail trim. I used to cut my dogs' nails. None liked it. One sheltie did a lot better and settled if I put a muzzle on him. One of the goldens, it would take me two days - one for the front feet and one for the back.

What did you think of the ending?
I saved this from another thread about New Amsterdam. I really liked the ending. I liked how they showed what led each doctor to become a doctor. I especially liked the last scene. I was hoping Elizabet would end up with Max but that was sort of up in the air.

I wish the best for all of you the next two weeks. I'll check in when back.

Good morning. Up early to get an early start. I have my book and glasses.

dazedx3 :grouphug: I totally understand. It is a tough journey. I hope you and your family talk and find comfort with each other.

pea the chicken cutlets look good.

Have a good day.

@Snowysmom - I have you to thank for reminding me of my jury duty summons.

Since I turned 70, I can request no more summons. However, I had completely forgotten to mail it in. I did that yesterday.

Which leads me back to whoever mentioned stamps. I needed stamps for my envelop.

Couldn't find my forever stamps, but did find some 37 cent stamps. Had to put two on. Letter is 60 cents, but I figured it was worth the extra cash not to have to search for another stamp or have to stand in line at the Post Office!

Happy Thursday everyone!⛈️

Breezy - Enjoy your trip!⚓

Dropping the car off at the shop after work today, fingers crossed that it won't be a big expense 🤞. Picking up a click list on the way home from work. Since I won't have a car tonight or tomorrow and I work all weekend, I figured I better get some things today.

Wasn't able to watch the ending of Tough as Nails last night so I'll catch that today when I get home. I'm liking the night version of The Price is Right that is on Wednesday nights. They always give away expensive prizes at night, one of last night's showcases was worth $77,000 .

That's all I have, pretty boring. Have a great day!

No clue and sure hope not about Covid.
You should test, it would be good to know if you had it, and when. You never know when the info will come in handy -
Wow, easyas, so your foster pup is coming up our way? Small world! Maybe we’ll see him around!
Yup! He is headed up your way! Still waiting to hear when, but I think it will be in next week or so (hope I'm not jinxing myself!!)
I spoke with a kind customer service lady from Nestle baking who shared that what I was describing was something called "chocolate bloom." This happens due to temperature and/or storage issues.
Glad they were able to resolve it for you. Have you tried Ghirardelli brand chips? They are great - and you can still use the same recipe. Might we worth trying.
I do have to go to jury duty.
Hope your day isn't to long and your drive was not a unpleasant one!
I am having a really hard week
I'm truly sorry. I do hope you have a peaceful day today, I wish there was more we could do for you.
I wish the best for all of you the next two weeks. I'll check in when back.
Safe travels and have a wonderful time!

Agreed! Sometimes your time is worth more than the effort!

Not to much to report from my end. My afternoon jobsite meeting is being rescheduled, so I don't have to do to much running today. I do need to go drop off some paperwork to re-title a car but that should be cut & dry.

Not a single clue as to dinner this evening -

We watched it last night, and I enjoyed it. I was hoping Elizabeth would end up with Max too, but it was not to be. I liked the way they worked a grown up Luna into the ending.

Good morning. Raining lightly and calling for thunderstorms later. Then a high wind warning for the overnight.

Regarding postage stamps. I order mine online. Since I have an account, there's no charge for shipping. We only have 1 local very small substation within walking distance, and the main post office is in town, so it's not worth the hassle to me. I bought 2 books at Christmas time and that should hold me through most of the year. I don't use postal mail for much except mailing packages.

Lily (granddaughter) got her driver's license yesterday. Makes me feel old. That only leaves 2 out of the 7 who aren't 16 yet.

Dave (handyman) was here for almost 2 hours yesterday. We measured, made lists, etc. Decided on all the fixtures, just have to see if they are in stock at Lowes or if I have to have them delivered. We decided instead of putting in a new linen closet, he was going to build a new one. He's going to put the tub/shower plumbing inside of it, and I will have the rest for storage. I had picked out the tiles, but we decided 12 x 12's won't look right on the wall, so going to go with 6x6's. Which of course makes the cost 4x more, but oh well. Only doing this once. Going to pull down the drop ceiling and go with dry wall.

He had asked if we wanted to replace both windows (one is octagon), but I said no. Don and I were talking later and decided as long as everything was already torn out, it would only make sense to replace them both. Do not want to go with another octagon one, I want one that opens on that wall. He wants the claw foot tub in there for himself. Told me to figure out what we want for it. We are just going to take whatever the price is off the labor charges. I was looking them up online, and even ones that look in terrible shape are going for a lot more than I ever imagined. And ours is still in great condition. I am going to miss it, but we're going with a soaking tub, so that should be okay.

Major project!

Off to dust and vacuum.

Have a good one

Called DGD at 6:30am who turns 6 today to wish her a Happy Birthday! They have an early school so I knew she would be getting ready. My intention is to give her some cash as when I spoke to her on my birthday (same early time they called me) she told me she had spent all her money in Atlanta last weekend and was 'flat broke'! The other DGD who turned 7 New Year's Eve, is only slightly interested in money, but the 6 yo is my material girl. Older DGD didn't bring her money to Atlanta. 6yo won't leave the house without her 'purse' which must contain money, tiny toys and her makeup (kid stuff or pretend) and jewelry such as kids have.

I asked how much she wanted. She thought for a minute and said $10. Then she changed the amount to $100 and I heard Mom gasp in the background. She first said she wanted a Barbie so I said she could go to Target and buy herself her Barbie choice.

If I have time I'm going to swing by my bank and get her a bunch of $1 bills. Right now there is only slight awareness between a $1 and a $10 or $20 note. I figure it can be a lesson in economics - how far x dollars will actually go, before she's 'flat broke' again!

:wave:Happy Thursday to all,

Big extra :grouphug:to Snowysmom and Dazed.

Thank you all for your health prayers. Should we not be closer to all better by the end of the weekend, dad will look into a free home Covid test. I also appreciate your chocolate chips cheer and suggestions (Easyas, Ghirardelli sure makes tasty ice cream)! Feeling better today. Dad dropped off our Christmas tree at church for my friend Gabriela to plant. I'm so thankful it will get to have a permanent home.

Dad also mailed a bunch of stuff for me ahead of this weekend's postage increase. FYI to try and get any packages out and also purchase extra stamps! We've gotten packages through the mail this week but not mailbox mail including something important. We shall what comes later today. I hope each of you has received something of cheer this week by snail mail.

🐥:hug:I will check back later.
