Thank you all so very much:hug: Dad is currently at a new dentist that was recommended by his periodontist. He first saw his very kind periodontist who took the care and time to see him today and without charge. Truly God Bless him. I will update when he is home later. Just know, always, how thankful to God I am for His connecting all of us together in His Name as a Quacker family🐥❤️

Last update for today that just further solidifies God's steadfast Presence, protection, and of course, LOVE.

Praise, praise extra to God, always of course, in all! He made sure today's dentist was the right one. Dad really liked Dr. C and now has himself a new dentist who he truly feels comfortable with. Dad will be having his records transferred over from Dr. B's office and terminating a relationship with that practice!

Dad is going to need extensive work to save the tooth. He said it will be done over two appointments. The first appointment, on December 1st, will be the most involved and may last an hour and a half, Dr. C said. Then the follow up second visit will be much quicker to replace the temporary crown (I am guessing) with a permanent, Meantime dad is currently enjoying some dinner. He didn't get to have much of any lunch other than a little bit of soup, this is an even extra blessing for us both. God is indeed forever and always in all ways with and for us! To Him be all Glory forever!

Thank you all for listening to all this and your extra loving prayer of support!

Sweet dreams, friends. Good night :)

@bobbiwoz How cute that the 3 year old mistook Tom for Santa. He was so sweet to spend some time with her. Happy Birthday to Tom.

@flyindumbo127 Si glad your Dad got the care he needed and found a good dentist. That must make you both feel better.

Another cold morning. I guess this will be the way it is for the next several months. I don't mind the cold weather but I just don't like it gettign dark so early.

The real estate agent Kenny recommended sent him a box of chocolates for the referral. He texted me a picture. He said he will save some for me. She does sell in my current area and I may look at one town over. It is near my friend I have lunch with and Chris and I lived there for one year. But, we did not do much in the town so no history at stores or restaurants. It has changed alot since we lived there so it does not look like the place we lived. I will give it some consideration. Jeff wants me to look in this area too so that is a compromise with him.

Have a great day.

Happy Friday!:cold:

Dang, it's cold! I have to get out and put that heater in the pond this morning. Praying my fish are okay.🙏🐠

FlyingDumbo - glad to hear your dad is getting his tooth taken care of quickly. Nothing worse than tooth pain.😕

Bobbiwoz - too cute about the 3 yr old and your DH. It was great that he played along with the little one. 🎅

Working from home today and then I have to work tonight and tomorrow night so I won't be able to visit with Mia today or tomorrow. I'll try to get up there Sunday when I wake up but I'll check first to see if Bailey's mom is coming down to visit, she lives about 90 minutes away.

In between working today, my goal is to get my laundry done and clean the house. My kitchen floor is a mess and one thing I hate to do is mop the floor, don't think I have a choice today.👎

Got a little bored at work yesterday afternoon and my Fitbit was telling me to get up and move so I walked over to the gift shop. Shouldn't have done that! I ended up buying the hospital's Xmas themed t-shirt, I usually by the themed shirts so that was okay, but then I had to buy a Max the dog stuffed animal from The Grinch Who Stole Xmas for Mia's St. Nick stocking. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'll probably go back next week and grab another one for my little great nephew Max.

I'm watching the local news and one of the newscasters did a story about the workers at our zoo and how and when they start putting up the xmas lights. The Cincinnati Zoo has a Festival of Lights during Xmas and it usually wins the best zoo display in the country. They start in August putting up these lights. I dread having to put up the lights in my own yard, I wouldn't have the patience to do an entire zoo!

That's it for me, have a great day and stay warm!

Good cold morning. Colder than yesterday and will be even colder this weekend.

@dazedx3 Congratulations--Welcome to the DIS to the newest princess--Eloise Kris (love the name!). Wow to your daughter only making it there in time,,that was a close one!

@flyingdumbo127 --glad your Dad likes his new dentist

@bobbiwoz --Dollywood looks very festive, glad you are having a good time!--your story about the little girl mistaking Tom for Santa made me smile. That was so nice of him to play along with her.

@footballmouse--hope you get to see Mia on Sunday. I also know what you mean about a dirty kitchen floor. I couldn't stand mine anymore and gave it a good scrubbing yesterday. We had tracked in snow and ice the other day, which left footprints all over it. And of course the cats track litter around, even with a huge litter mat down.

@Snowysmom That was very nice of the real estate agent to send your son a box of chocolates. I hope you find a place to live that you fall in love with.

I hope Dave our handyman calls this weekend and gives me a day when he's coming to put the new one down. Not sure how he's going to manage it with it being so cold outside, but he will somehow.

I didn't feel well last night, was in bed at 8 pm, and slept till 2. Got up for an hour and went back to bed and woke up feeling fine. I am attributing it to something I ate yesterday. Won't be eating that again soon, lol

Off to the basement. I went through a couple of totes yesterday, but decided I need to go through the ones with summer/winter clothes and put a lot of them in a box to take to Goodwill. I still have some clothes way too big for me, and Don has some that are way too small. Time to purge!

Have a great morning,,stay warm!

Good Morning Friends and thank you all so much for all your extra prayers for my dad yesterday. Thanks to God, he is feeling fine this morning. He enjoyed his usual granola breakfast, too. He will be going to see Dr. C for a longer appointment in 2 weeks. Definitely gives us both great peace of mind that he has a dentist he feels comfortable with. Right now, dad is off doing laundry followed by quick shopping. I do hope to get to see Terri later today or tomorrow. Have not yet heard from Donna regarding her possibly coming on Sunday. After yesterday, at the moment, if Terri does come later today, and dad finds a premade pie at Ralph's (that doesn't expire today or Monday which is all they had yesterday) we will donate that instead of baking cookies which we can do another time. Church ministry does serve a meal in this same park the second Sunday of every month. Thankful to get to be able to contribute something possibly to the Thanksgiving lunch.

Aw, thanks, Bobbiwoz. Prayers Tom did indeed enjoy a very Happy Birthday. He does look like Santa Claus🎅 and the two of you both certainly also spread much faith and cheer!

I am continually extra grateful to God, Snowysom for the extra blessing of family and friends you have. I am also so thankful you do have some eventual move options and support. Continued 🙏for bridging any differences with Jeff.

Footballmouse, I hope you get to enjoy the Christmas light display! I'm not a traditional zoo fan but have heard the zoo out here also offers something similar that one day might be fun for me and dad to check out. I do remember pre pandemic, a retired church pastor and friend of mine, would sometimes take a small group to see the lights. 🙏, of course, continuing for baby Mia.

:grouphug: Grandma Dazed! God Bless baby Eloise! May you get to meet her soon!

I sure pray you got rest last night and are feeling better this morning, Lynn!

Thinking of you, Pea and praying this finds you feeling a whole lot better!:grouphug:

I really do like btw my Polar Bear Pajamas in small from Amazon. I'm wearing them right now and ordered another pair. They make me smile and also match well with my couch blanket which has a reindeer and snowman print.

Be cozy everyone and have a good Friday. I will check back later.

Good cold afternoon. I think winter is upon us. I like living in the mid-Atlantic because there is a real change of seasons.

Just same old stuff here. Starting to get ready for next week. Thanksgiving at Sarah's and Lamesgiving here. Put my jigsaw table away until after Christmas. Got out a mini fridge in the basement for extra storage. Tomorrow is cleaning day.

I did come home from my WW meeting yesterday and ordered a treadmill I had been watching the price of for 6 months. I get sedentary when it is cold out and decided I need to do this. For a $20 delivery fee, they will even deliver to the basement where I want it.

Well, lucky me. I have post-Covid shingles now. 😤 (Just like DD did this summer.)
Sorry to hear that. I had shingles on my face in the summer of 2005. I know I should get the vaccine but it is $300 per shot and I have to prepare myself to pay that. (My choice for not having Rx coverage. Never have.)
Headed to the hospital after work today to sit with Mia.
How nice for you, Mia, and her parents.
Then I realized that it was Governor Hogan!
Cool!
I used to watch the Thanksgiving parade but do not have the patience for it any more. It seems to be alot of advertising for Broadway shows and TV shows. I just want to see the parade, not clips form TV shows or dancing and singing acts.
I totally agree. The only parade I watch is the Rose Parade and it is getting commercial too.
Eloise Kris
Congratulations!

Going out for some errands.

Happy Friday. Brrr...its cold here this morning. It'd 57° not but when I got up it was only 31° and at some point last night DH turned off the heater instead of just turning it down like we normally do before bed so it was only 61° inside.

DH was only at the jobsite for a couple hours this morning so we were able to go to breakfast when he got home. Now he's taking a nap and I should be doing laundry but I'm being lazy. We went to Costco right after they opened yesterday and got our turkey breast for Thanksgiving, I also said what the heck and bought some of their pre-made mashed potatoes, also got some gravy we get every year. I always feel like my mashed potatoes come out too lumpy and these Costco ones are really good so I made it easy for myself with one less dish to make. Still can't believe Thanksgiving is next week.

Dad really liked Dr. C and now has himself a new dentist who he truly feels comfortable with. Dad will be having his records transferred over from Dr. B's office and terminating a relationship with that practice!
Glad he got it taken care of and going himself a new dentist.

DH and I wear Santa hats here. Tom was mistaken for Santa Clause by a three year old last night. They had a significant meeting. Tom just brought home free coffees, paid for by the three year olds grandfather!🎄
So sweet.

The real estate agent Kenny recommended sent him a box of chocolates for the referral.
That was nice of her. Is she someone you could use to possibly sell your condo as well when the time comes?

The Cincinnati Zoo has a Festival of Lights during Xmas
The LA zoo is the closest zoo to me and they zoo that too. I would love to go there one time to check it out. I actually just saw an ad about it on FB earlier.

Eloise Kris… 11:58, Nov.17.
Congratulations. :lovestruc

I didn't feel well last night, was in bed at 8 pm, and slept till 2. Got up for an hour and went back to bed and woke up feeling fine. I am attributing it to something I ate yesterday. Won't be eating that again soon, lol
Glad you woke up feeling better. I need to go through some clothes too, we have sooo many and don't wear half of them.

@Breezy_Carol I need to have DH move our treadmill into the house from the garage. I've been trying to start walking more but know I'm going to use the cold as my excuse soon...just like I did the heat in summer. :rolleyes1:laughing:

@dazedx3 Congratulations on the grandbaby! Thankfully your DD made it to the hospital in time. I love the name. My oldest DGD is Eloise too.

@lynxstch Glad you feel better.

@ Pea-n-me I hope you are feeling better.

The real estate agent does some work in the area I am currently living in but she is a specialist in the area I am looking to go to and understands why I am talking with the agent in this area. If the other agent does not seem interested I will ask her to sell the condo too. I want to go with the other agent as he is a specialist in this complex and sometimes he has clients who are looking to get into this complex. I think when I told him I am not selling right now but just collecting info he figured I would contact him when I was ready. He did give me the info I asked for. I just need to ruminate on it for a while. No quick decisions this time. I did tell Jeff that I want to talk with him sometime so it will be this weekend or next.

The Stone Zoo near me does Christmas lights too.

Have a good evening.

Good afternoon to you all. This week went by fast (for me) and I'm a bit surprised to see it's mid-afternoon already!
Not a whole lot going on this weekend, I've got my big Thanksgiving shopping trip on Sunday, my husband and I don't usually make it a habit to go grocery shopping together but about 20 years ago we hosted a massive 40 person Thanksgiving dinner and I roped him into going to help schlep groceries. It's turned into a regular thing where we go out for breakfast and get our first peppermint mochas of the season then hit the grocery store for Thanksgiving specific items the Sunday prior.
Sunday afternoon my husband has some butchering to do that he prefers to do over having the butcher do it, and I'll assist with that.
I also have Mt. Laundry to climb...so much laundry to fold:idea: my own fault for putting it off and allowing it to build up. I'm going to be first in line when they start selling the dryer that also folds! Sure, a dishwasher that puts away the dishes would be great, but I'm holding out for the folding dryer!

Thanksgiving parade
I always have the parade on, and record the dog show. I like the parade on as background that doesn't require me to pay a lot of attention, but I like to actually watch the dog show, so I watch that later. I miss seeing the Mummers Parade in Philly on local TV. If I moved about 20 minutes east or north I could get it.
Dental unexpected emergency
Always fun, glad to read he made out ok.
Baby has arrived
Congrats to her & the rest of your family!
This time DD made it to the hospital, but only by a half hour
with my second it was about 30 minutes from walking in to hold him, all births should be that quick!
I like living in the mid-Atlantic because there is a real change of seasons.
I do, too.
That was nice of her. Is she someone you could use to possibly sell your condo as well when the time comes?
That's a good suggestion. And if you use the same agent Snowy, you may have some room for negotiating the commission on the sale.

Husband has finished installation of the pellet stove in the basement, so we will fire it up for the first time this evening. We grabbed two bags of pellets, but just to get things up & running. I guess I need to buy a pallet of them next week. After the holidays are over we will push forward with the remodel of the basement, starting with re-painting and then installation of the new kitchenette (we demo'd the old kitchen/bar area) and finally get new flooring installed.

Dinner this evening is going to be fish, served with I'm not sure what. I'm contemplating making a stew for tomorrow night, I'll have the time and Husband, youngest & our nephew will be outside most of the day so a warm, hearty meal may be just the trick.

It was a super busy week with lots of running around. Yesterday sat in traffic for two hours getting home. I wasn’t convinced when I heard on the news the other night that, with people working from home, many would be starting their Thanksgiving holidays early this year (like, now), but after that drive home, I don’t doubt it anymore, because it wasn’t an accident or anything, just lots of cars on the road. DD had had an appt about an hour away then we hit some shopping areas nearby and tried to get back on the road before “traffic hour” but it seems like it’s always busy around here.

Anyway, happy for good news with dentists and babies, congrats @dazedx3 and glad Mia is doing well, too.

Loved your pics, @AuntieMe3 You and your husband look lovely together! My father spent time at Camp Pendleton, too. I have a very old tee shirt of his from there (WWII Army) that is one of the few things I saved.
I was talking to Mitchell Sunday about when I should put the pond heater in for the fish 🐟. I didn't know how cold it needs to be, I don't want to cook them 😳. He said this is a good week since it won't get above 40 for the high. Well I forgot when I got home and then didn't think about it again until yesterday. By the time I got home it was already dark so I didn't do it again. I texted him and asked if he gets off work early enough today, could he swing by and put it in the pond for me. If not, the fish will have to wait until Friday. Next week around Thanksgiving, it will be back in the 50's.

That's about it for me this morning, have a great day.
Funny you say that, I had a weird dream the other night about a fish tank that was too hot and the fish were jumping out and walking on their flippers! :lmao:
Have I mentioned I really hate driving on the highways here, when it's rush hour?
See above, lol. My work commute is really awful.
All this talk of shingles....I turned 50 last month and I was busting at the seams to get my vax! I had my appt. and wouldn't you know it - 10 days before and there it was. Shingles. It was the most simple, basic barely there case of shingles ever, so I can in no way complain. But now I have to wait until March to get my vaccine.
Thanks for saying that, I didn’t know you had to wait after having shingles to get vaccine. Will talk w my PCP about it. When she offered it I had just gotten Covid and thought one was enough. Thankfully this was just a small thing.

@Pea-n-Me How did Grady do at the groomer?
He did ok, they said he was a little nervous but fine. I don’t know if he was ever groomed before. (I know the rescue gave him a bath and did his nails, and I did his nails last month.) I felt so awful leaving him there, he was watching me leave out the window. And I hadn’t thought to ask them to try to keep him and Toto together - he is comforted by Toto - but they brought him out back. At least he knows we came back for him. They have to learn that. And it was just a few hours. He looked really spiffy when he came home! Thanks for asking. Glad you are making a little progress on the condo.

It’s a work weekend for me, so I’ll be reading but probably won’t have a lot of time to respond, especially from my phone. :headache: I hope everyone has a nice weekend. 🐥
