Good Morning from chilly and 🌧️LA,

🙏 for your patient and his family, Pea:hug:. How blessed they are to have your excellent compassionate care. God Bless him giving you the cannoli and extra making sure you enjoyed it! What a lovely man.

 Bobbiwoz, and what a lovely Thanksgiving blessing extra from God to you and your family. Thank you and Tom so very much for volunteering with Operation Fireside. Go Phillies!

:grouphug:to you as well, dear Snowysmom and prayers as always that your visit with your kind therapist provided you extra peace and comfort. Hooray for having dinner with Kenney afterwards, too.

Thinking of you dear B&B and keeping you and your family in added prayer🤗

Enjoy your warm leftovers, Footballmouse. It’s a rainy and cold day here so extra warmth through food sounds cozy. I am so grateful as always that God gave you and your aunt one another🌸. I believe, our friend Taz is a Phillies fan⚾. I was happy for her last night that they won again.
Kirby, indeed your grandkids are adorable! Love that Lou Lou greeted each :dogdance:.

ITA with both of dear you PollyannaMom and Lynn about “liking.” An extra reason all of you are so very dear to me because every day each of you extend genuine faith, love, cheer, and friendship toward all in our group and beyond. How grateful to God I am indeed He connected us to begin with and is continuing to grow our friendships 🐥❤️. Prayers to you PollyannaMom for a warm and cozy day. I hope your MIL’s appointment went well and that your son is continuing to do well! Lynn, prayers today extra for Don.

🙏 with love to you dear Dazed, thinking of you, my friend.

Frog, you are on my heart right now, too!🤗

Maple Moose, may you and your family enjoy some type of fun today together. I love that you truly cherish adventures along with everyday moments with your family and know all of that is extra Grace from God:hug:.

Be cozy and well, my friends, stay warm and have a wonderful Wednesday. I will check back later.

@Kirby so sorry about DS diagnosis. Sending lots of love and prayers to the whole family.

I can't believe it's already time to start planning Thanksgiving and very soon Christmas. Crazy. I'm making Thanksgiving dinner like I always do but it should just be the three of us and my dad unless DH decides to invite a coworker/friend and his wife, like he did last year. I would prefer he didn't because it just more relaxed that way but we would have plenty of food even if he did.

Ending up driving down to San Diego yesterday to watch my niece while my her parents are out of town for a few days. It's raining here which was unexpected. LoL

I'll be heading home Saturday morning.
Hope you all have a great day.

Home from errands and shopping. I love that our PCP now has a full time phlebotomist on staff. Don's bloodwork took all of 5 minutes..it took longer to drive there than that..lol!

Sunny and 72 here, really nice until at least 11/11 they say

Prices up again,,but both Aldi's and Walmart had plenty of Halloween candy marked down 50%. Tootie Pops are my favorite things to eat when I am on here or watching tv. I got a HUGE bag of 75 of them marked down to $3.50 at Aldi's..that is even cheaper than the normal small bags are. That should last me awhile. But the entire store is now decorated for Christmas. They have this big arch outside the customer service desk, and they have tons of boxes, wrapped in Christmas paper. By Dec 1'st there will be nothing left in the store.

Got a text from Summer (stepdaughter) on the way home. She was at her urologist appt in Fairmont. They told her they have to put her to sleep to try and get rid of whatever is in her kidney. They won't know if it's kidney stones or something worse until they open her up they said. She will have a stent for a week, possibly 2. So at least someone is finally doing something to help her.

Has anyone here heard from Frog3101 at all this week? I tried sending her a message, as I usually do, and it won't even send to her. I keep getting a big X by her name?

Have a nice afternoon. I am off to relax

Mid- afternoon here thread save! No mail as of yet. Maybe later? Dad and I are trying to set up his new Lenovo laptop to check it out. I'll share more about that when we do and have tried it out. :grouphug:extra to all of you!

Tina, thinking extra of you right now, and prayer you and Matt are safe and well:hug:
I always wonder how she is,,why she disappeared, and I say prayers for her and Matt, that they are well and happy. Maybe someday she will come back to the DIS Quacker Family, after all, she is the one responsible for it!

Good Morning.
Kirby I hope your DS finds great medical care in Houston. That hospital is one of the best. :grouphug:

I think of Tina and Matt too. I hope all is well with them.

It is 41 here now with temps expected to go to 60. I have to go into the office a bit later and then lunch with a friend. She always has some words of wisdom for me and I appreciate it and need it right now.

Have a good day.

Thank you to everyone for your prayers, good thoughts and encouraging words. DS and wife made it down to Houston this evening for his appointment tomorrow. They are staying with one of his cousins that lives down there over the next couple of days.

Playing catch up and behind on replies. Prayers for DS. So sorry that he and your family have to go through this. Life's just not great at times.

Enjoy your lunch date! It's 49 here and going to 70 degrees.

Later on this morning I'm going to Costco to get my tires put on. Hopefully they've been delivered as I haven't heard back, but my appointment was set so probably okay. My neighbor was out blowing leaves around yesterday so we talked a bit and I mentioned getting tires today. He looked and said you don't need tires as you have all this tread left. I said they are over 5 years old. He then looked at the tire date and said, oh yes you do - they are 6 and a half years old. The date was March 2016. He's a manager at a nearby national tire store.

He also checked my brake pads and rotors and said, don't need those. He drove my car and checked them as well, so I'm canceling the brake work for now. There's probably a good chance that the brake place would have advised the same thing. I'm sort of a new is better person and sometimes over do stuff.

He did say the tires I ordered will make a big difference in the ride - they will be much quieter due to something or other. I'm getting Bridgestone Weatherby tires.

The other thing neighbor said is that now when they change tires, they change rotors as well due to something about matching the materials in the parts. I'd never heard of that but will do a little research before I move forward on the replacement. That combo repair is quite expensive.

Last evening other neighbor came over to trim down a stump for me. He saw me out doing some mowing in my back area. Stump removal is not a cheap thing so it was really nice of him to do this. I'm so happy to live in a neighborhood where I know everybody and they are willing to offer help. I reciprocate in ways that I can, such as bringing them as much candy as I could rid myself off before I ate it all!

Their kids also love to play on my swing set and I like that it gets used. My DGD's love it and are the reason I installed it, but they are not here that often to enjoy it.

Happy Thursday! 🍂

In the office today. I've been dealing with a muscle spasm in my back so I worked from home yesterday.

Didn't do anything yesterday. I did watch Survivor last night and a little bit of the baseball game. I recorded The Amazing Race so I'll watch that when I get home from work today.

Not sure what dinner will be, maybe tomato soup and grilled cheese.

Have a great day!🤠

Good morning---another beautiful day coming up. Most of the leaves are finally off of the maple trees, so I will get the blower out, blow them into big piles, then put them on tarps and drag them to the garden to leave in there for mulch.

@footballmouse I hope your back is better today, I know how painful those spasms can be

@Kirby -sending prayers your son and his wife today that his appt. goes well.

@Judique It's nice to have neighbors like that. When I lived in MA I had 3 that were like that..here in MD, not so much. We have one who helps us and we help, the one on the other side of us, and the one behind, nothing but trouble!

I did hear from Frog3101 yesterday. For some reason, messages keeps deleting all of our conversations and we have to keep starting over. It took me forever for it to even accept her user name to write her a new one :( She is doing a little better, doing things that show she is getting stronger every day.

Enjoy the Indian Summer weather if you are experiencing it

Yes, good neighbors are precious! I really try to be one.

Didn't even get one number on Powerball. After my tire trip I will take my $50 ticket by the store and replay for the next two drawings. $8 from the $32 remaining profit. I added on powerplay and double play so each ticket is $4. I didn't even know what double play was until after I got home and googled it.

We are! DH said it was cold when he went to the gym this morning, but it's supposed to be almost 70 by late this afternoon! And yesterday was gorgeous. - I picked up the twins from school, and we stayed there at the playground for over an hour.

Today is busy getting the house straightened up. For some reason it's just been a messy week. :confused3

Tomorrow morning, I have to run over and take the kids to school, because their mom and dad both have to be at work early. Then later tomorrow, DS will be home for the weekend!! :tigger::tigger::tigger:

Happy Thursday from very chilly LA,

Last time I looked at my phone it was only in the 50's. Brr! It is supposed to warm up a little this weekend and then be cooler next week. I did like the Old Navy pajamas and in fact was able to order online 2 more pairs for the price of one (online sale and coupon) that dad will be picking up later. The waistband on them is actually the exact type I normally do not like at all--a little thick and elastic-y but it also helps keep the pants fitting me better. I do like that they have pockets. 💻will be returned to Best Buy. We would recommend it to any of you who travel or take a laptop with you on the go because it is small and portable. Dad would prefer a little bigger screen for watching live TV or Netflix. When he is at Best Buy, he'll see in person their other options. I will share what he ends up getting. No mail again yesterday. We are expecting two packages through the mail today so maybe the 🐴will deliver them.

Grateful your DS and his wife will be getting great care, dear Kirby. My cousin Steve did computer work at MD Anderson for years before he retired. Extra :grouphug: and prayer all-around, my friend.

Enjoy your lunch and time with a good friend, Snowysmom:hug:! I am truly so thankful you do have a great support system. Always, of course, remember we all care so very much too!

How wonderful and kind of your neighbors, Judique, to help you tire and tree wise. Blessing indeed to have such close by friends. They are so blessed, of course, to have you among their friends as are we!🤗

Feel better, Footballmouse:grouphug:! I “liked” your post for the other parts of your share. Glad to hear you did get some extra down time. Take good care please. 🌸

:thanks: Lynn, for updating us on Frog and gifting to her extra kind support. You're a wonderful friend that is for sure:grouphug:Prayers all did go well for Don yesterday.

70’s sounds lovely, PollyannaMom, enjoy, my friend:hug:. How fun for the twins. Hugs, yay! Enjoy the weekend with your son.

Stay warm, friends and have a wonderful Thursday. I'll check in later.

Wow..down on the second page. Not allowed! And we seem to be missing a lot of our Quacker Family these days
Its 72 and so nice out. I got all the leaves out of the side yard..one tree still has some, but they can just sit there. Laundry is done, kitchen and bathroom floors washed, rugs washed.
Dinner is going to be chicken tenders, Nathans fries, maybe a couple of onion rings too, and a salad
Have a nice rest of the afternoon.

Hello to all Quackers. Just popping in for a bit to say "howdy" and try to catch up just a bit.

@Kirby - So very sorry to hear the news about your son. Sending so many hugs and prayers your way. It sounds like he is in very good hands. Hoping they are able to get questions answered at his appointment today and also a solid game plan for moving forward. So much stress for your family with this and your daughter still having to deal with her ex. When it rains it really does pour.

@footballmouse - hope your back has calmed down. I have never had back spasms, so to speak, but do seal with sciatica on occasion and it's nothing to joke about, and I would guess spasms are not either.

@Judique - sounds like you have a wonderful set of neighbors. So very nice when there is a group who looks after and helps each other.

Not much to report from here. Things are same ol' same ol'. FH has been asking for the kids early on his Wednesdays. So far, I have let them go...as I know they want to right now because it is a busy time for the business and they really do like being around it. We shall see when things start to slow down. I don't want FH to get too comfortable thinking I will go from being "flexible" to letting him walk on me when it comes to extra time with the kids. My oldest did have to go last weekend and she made it through. He sends her such mixed signals and she just get so tired of his bologna. This is my weekend to have them, and I pray he just leaves us all alone. My youngest two are actually going to spend some time with my oldest sister at her house about 2.5 hours from here. I feel a bit guilty sending them away during "my time", but they have always gone there for a few weekends a year and I don't want them to lose that. I do feel I have gotten a little stronger. I got some not great information from my attorney last week and I only bawled/wallowed about it for a few hours, instead of letting it ruin a whole day or even two. It is easy thought when I don't have to see/text/or talk to FH, I'm sure the next time I do I will be a wreck again, but hopefully not for too long.

I have parent/teacher conferences tonight and have no idea if he will show up. So, if I can just make it through those either way, I will be relieved and be able to enjoy the rest of the evening. For my older two you have to go online and sign up for times and it shows if the other parent is singed up at times too. I couldn't handle even seeing if his name was on there, so my sister did mine for me. I told her I didn't even want to know if he was on there (he's never been to one parent/teacher conference in 9 years and 4 kids) as it would just cause me stress that I can't do anything about. I just pray TT does not come with him. Technically she should not be allowed to sit in on them since she is not a parent or legal guardian, but they are so bold I can see her coming. IF that does come to pass, I will prob blow a gasket and have some BIG words with the school for allowing it to happen. I'm trying to not worry about it too much.

Take care all and as always extra hugs and good thoughts to those on our thread who are in the trenches.

:hug:Lynn, page 2 is absolutely not allowed. Thank you for the thread save! 72 sounds so nice and is warmer than it is here! Enjoy your dinner, my friend.

:grouphug:Frog and thank you so much for the update. You remain in my prayers that is for sure. You are such a strong and wise lady. God has graced your kiddos for sure with you. He is with you forever and we all care, too. Thinking of you!

We did get our two expected packages through the mail along with a ton of voting junk+2 other solicitations. No personal expected mail. Not positive first-class mail did come though it must have since our box was empty earlier this morning. So far, there sure has not been another delivery. Maybe tomorrow!

Word of caution with Old Navy pajama pants. I do like the material of these Hot Cocoa Print pajama pants. I had gotten one pair of these Red and Green pajama pants in the same style and same small size. I did this purposely to easily be able to tell the difference between daytime and bedtime pajamas. I do wear pajama pants around the house during the day right now. The material of the cocoa pj's to me is much softer than that on the red and green. After 1 wash they are still big for me but fit a ton better than the humungous fleece pants I have on now. The red and green pj's indicate that they are part of ON's "Match the Family" pajama line. The cocoa do not have that description. Red and green pj's fit bigger than the cocoa pj's. I do know well that with any store (ON at times more so) these days both the identical item can have different fits and even feels between identical pairs and so can the same item, same size, in different colors. PJ's are still up to 50% off online at ON through tomorrow.

Have something warm this evening for dinner, friends and be cozy tonight!

Frog, I hope that your parent meetings went well. Keeping you in my prayers.

Today was pretty warm, it got up to 79. A little warm for November. Tomorrow we expect rain and storms tomorrow afternoon/evening. Possible straight line winds and tornadoes. Ugh!

Went to Bible study after dropping Lou Lou off at pre-school. It was about Deborah. Very interesting!

Didn't get a lot done this afternoon. My thoughts were down south with DS and wife. Doctor appointment went well. Learned a little more about what they do down there. They test for 40 more mutations than what a regular pathologist tests for so there is a slight chance he could get a different diagnosis. He had another bone marrow aspirate this afternoon. He is having a couple of CT scans and a cardiac scan tomorrow. Then they will head home. Right now his follow up for all of his tests is next Thursday.

DD made grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for dinner. Hit the spot and was easy clean up, just what I needed.
