Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

One of DHs nephews is getting married next year and asked DH if he would be in the wedding. Said some really nice things about DH being such a great influence in his life, it was pretty sweet so DH couldn't say no. The wedding will be out of state for us so we'll be planning for a nice little getaway with a wedding in the middle.
Sounds like it will be memorable plus a vacation1
Baby Sam had a tough night. He is in the ER now getting a nebulizer treatment. Temp and oxygen normal. He is a croupy baby right now. The plan now is for Jeff and the 3 older kids to go with Kenny, his kids, and me. Aimee will come on Tuesday with Sam. Please say a prayer that Sam does well. We are just trying to do the best we can with the situation.
Aww, poor baby! Hope he gets better quickly!
Thank you again, Judique. Lol, now I really would love to see a picture of the doghouse! :)
I will try to oblige.
I must have missed it as well. I don't really buy any Halloween candy. We don't get trick or treaters so I don't bother.
I'm trying to delay buying the candy. I usually buy the 30 pack of full sized candy bars at Costco. I won't use all of that. Last year I bought too early and had to buy another. I ate most of the Milky Way and DD had eaten quite a few in addition to packing some off to work. I personally do not need all those calories! We always get trick or treaters.
I am packed and almost ready for my mom to get me to the airport She just called and will be at my house at 4:30 AM. I was nice and got her a Panera's Orange Scone so she can have breakfast.
I also enjoy those orange scones. Enjoy your trip and meetup!

Halloween/fall decor - on Halloween day I usually pull out lights, mickey pumpkin, skeleton, and various other items just for the evening, then it goes back in it's closet. I had to put new batteries in a 'scary' doorbell last year and it got new life. One little kid (about 4) really enjoyed playing it so much the parents had to pick him up and carry him away.

Good morning! Another cool morning, but no frost. That won't be the case this coming week. I was going to mow today, but the grass really isn't tall enough to need it.
I already stripped and remade the bed, did the one in the spare room also, just to freshen that bed up. Going to hang them outside to dry. Supposed to be near 70 again today.

I hope that Snowysmom and Taz have safe, uneventful flights, and a wonderful time at WDW

Nothing else new going on here

Have a great Saturday!

:wave:Happy Saturday with love to all,

Prayers Snowysmom and Taz are safely on their way to ::MickeyMo Also, keeping Baby Sam in extra 🙏

Mail situation seems to be exactly what we thought which is only packages through the mail are being delivered this week. I did get a book package from Paperback Swap through the mail yesterday. No mailbox mail again. Dad did talk with the mailman who brought the books. This carrier is one of two regular mailmen we have. The carrier told dad that another mailman was assigned to deliver our mailbox mail. No one ever did which is exactly what dad was told when he actually spoke to someone at the main post office branch on Thursday. So, it's now been a week (since last Saturday) since we have gotten mailbox mail. I am expecting another card from a friend today so here's hoping that makes it. I do so appreciate all delivery people especially USPS workers since sadly they are so understaffed and not well supported. May each of you get some happy mail this afternoon! Remember always to PM me if ever you would enjoy a greeting from CA.

Dad will shortly be off quickly to Ralph's, 99, and Target. God-willing a quick morning outing. Pavilions, tomorrow, including for freshly made sugar cookies.

I love that you and your 😾 explore your neighborhood together, PollyannaMom!

Enjoy a 🍫treat, Judique!

70 sounds such a lovely Saturday :sunny:weather day, Lynn, enjoy, my friend.

Wishing everyone a great day. I will check back later.

Good morning, at least it is morning when I started this.

Babysitting Thursday night went well. Friday Jen went to work and Marty to daycare. Jack, Andrew, and I went to the Marine Corps Museum in Quantico. Jack has been wanting to go for years. So much information. We ate in a tavern in the museum and lunch was good. Drove back to Andrew’s house, thankfully he drove. Friday afternoon traffic around DC is not fun. Met up again with Jen and Marty and we all went to dinner at a casual Latin restaurant and ate outside. Food and drink very good. Then back to Andrew’s for his birthday cake before we drove home.

This morning I finished frosting and glazing the chocolate mint brownies. After I eat my left over quesadilla for lunch, I need to make mac&Cheese. Then off to Sarah’s for her housewarming.

Also ordered some high waisted Calvin Klein Jeans - I think final cost was $13.
That is an excellent price for jeans.
He is in the ER now getting a nebulizer treatment.
Poor baby Sam. Croup is scary. Both my kids had it as babies.

I hope @tazdev3225 and @Snowysmom have safe travels and a great trip.

My mother used to make a zucchini lasagna. Here is her recipe from the Baltimore Sunpaper.

:hug:Carol and so glad to hear both babysitting and your outing went so well. Enjoy the housewarming party!

Poor dad is out in the 🌧️Yes, it's raining here this morning. Supposed to be near 90 later this coming week. Keeping in 🙏he comes home very soon! Good day to be cozy indeed. Wishing all of you a wonderful rest of Saturday.

I menu plan a week at a time before I grocery shop. I may rearrange or substitute a day, but at least I have an idea and all the ingredients.

I do the same thing too.
What kind of jeans do people buy?
I currently wear the Starfish brand at LandsEnd. I watch for their sales and purchase them through Kohls mostly racking up Kohls cash. They are stretchy and high waisted which is what I like, I'm into comfort right now. I've worn Amanda jeans in the past and the Lee high waisted with the elastic on the sides. I don't like jeans that sit below my natural waist, they don't stay up on me, I'm constantly pulling them up. I don't have an actual pair of jeans made out of blue jean material in my closet right now which is a first.
What’s everyone getting for candy this yr?
None. We don't get trick or treaters since the houses on our street are not close together. We always took our kids to other neighborhoods when they were young. Doing the same with the GK's. Years ago we used to go to a neighboring town where DH's younger sister lived. There was a family that gave out soft drinks in addition to candy. Last year when we took the GK's there was a family that were giving out alcoholic drinks to the adults.

Thanks to God, Dad's appointment with a new doctor went well. He was able to get his ears cleaned for the first time since Covid which made that an extra blessing.
Glad his appointment went well.

Managed to get both doctors appointments taken care of today. Jim's feet are doing great in the new shoes so far. The foot doctor was happy about that. I went to a new optometrist. I haven't liked the one I had been going to ever since the owners sold to a chain.
It's good to hear that your DH's feet are doing better and the new shoes fit. I know it's not the same as your DH but as my mom got older, she had a hard time finding shoes that were comfortable.
Glad you found a new eye doctor too. I've worn glasses since I was a kid and I know what it's like not to get a good prescription.
I am not a big fan of chili, as I don't care for beans, and I keep being told that chili without beans , isn't considered chili, lol.
I've heard that too. I do put beans in my chili but they don't have to be there. What I don't like is a spicy chili, I don't like my mouth to burn the whole time I'm eating. DH likes to eat his chili over spaghetti.

All this talk of jeans and pants, who likes the new elastic waist, no zipper pants? Not me! And where are the pockets?
Me! I do miss pockets at times but they aren't a deal breaker for me.

My mother used to make a zucchini lasagna. Here is her recipe from the Baltimore Sunpaper.
Thank you for the recipe. I've already printed it out and put it in my recipe box.

@Snowysmom and @tazdev3225 , safe travels!

Made it to Florida. Weather is nice and better my room was ready for me when I arrived. I have a great location overlooking the pool and right by the main building with the lobby and the Skyliner station. This is my view at the moment.

I'm not worried about rides as I have done them before. This is a sit back and relax trip.

Hope you all have a good weekend

74, sunny, and now breezy. I decided to mow today, to mulch all the leaves. I had a nice clean yard,,until I was sitting in the driveway with the deck washer going. All of a sudden the huge black walnut tree decided to drop 1/2 of what was left on the tree, so now my nice clean yeard is full of leaves again :( Off to a hot bath and to do beauty routine. I think dinner is going to be hot dogs with sauerkraut, fries, and the last 2 ears of corn we have. All the farms around here are done with it for the year

Posted some answers to quotes and then had to leave and do some office work. DH had some invoices to get out and fortunately I was able to email them all instead of mailing them. It's not a bad thing to have to put them in the mail, just keeps me from having to go by the post office.

This week was DD and Lil Joe's Fall Break. Lou Lou had preschool but it was good for Lil Joe and his mom to spend some time together while Lou Lou was in school.

Last Sunday, DD and I took the kids to Dallas Arboretum to the kids garden area and the pumpkin patch. The kids area was a lot of fun for them. There were several places where fruit and vegetables were planted. Most were not bearing at the time. There were different water features for them to play with. The pumpkin patch was a let down for me. It looked very worn just eight days into October. By the time we got over there it was very crowded. It used to be in a shaded area of the park but they had it in an unshaded are and the pumpkins are not wearing well. Still, the different types of pumpkins were cool to see and DD and the kids got their picture made in Cinderella's coach. I only got one picture, a lot of the plants/trees/shrub were still recovering from the heat we had this summer. Tons of mums out but most hadn't begun blooming. Early Spring is my favorite time to go.
20221009_113443.jpg

Has anyone put out stuff for Halloween. We have ghouls hanging from most of our trees blowing in the wind that DD and the kids put out.
20221008_202154.jpg

Monday I was supposed to go in for jury duty and much to my delight I wasn't needed. Yay! I've been selected twice before for criminal cases and I don't want to do that again.

Tuesday night Lil Joe played catcher for the first time. He did a pretty good job and wants to try again next week.

Wednesday DH went with us to the State Fair. It was the hottest day of our week and by the time we left that afternoon we were toast. A lot of the school districts around DFW give out tickets and actually have an assigned fair day to attend the fair. DD and the kids had tickets. Wednesdays is canned food drive day, so DH and I were able to attend for 5 cans of food plus $5. Great deal! The kids had a good time. We got free food samples in the Food and Fiber building. Everything in there is made in Texas. Lunch was a Fletchers Corny Dog, official corny dog of the State Fair. They were a little overdone so all you really could taste was fried cornbread. The kids got to see Big Tex and hear him speak. Then we hit the midway and they road a ton of rides.
20221012_160454.jpg

DD and I are on a no sodas month and Wednesday was a cheat day. I knew better than to drink one but of course I didn't listen to myself. I nursed a 20 oz bottle of Dr. Pepper all day. Then when for dinner we got Chick Fil A and I had a sweet tea. I was up till 4:00 am Thursday morning. I forced myself to get up at 7:00 am. I really wanted to go to Bible study for our lesson on Eve but I knew that if I didn't go to the grocery store instead, I would never make it otherwise there otherwise. So I went to the grocery store instead and after lunch I crashed. Got up at 5:00, cooked dinner and was in bed at a decent hour and had a good night's sleep.

Friday I went to Fort Worth for the Junior League's Christmas in Cowtown market with a good friend of mine. We've been going for about six years now. It's large and has tons of vendors. I didn't buy much, some soup/chili/breakfast mixes. There were a lot of new vendors which was nice. We were there about four hours and then headed back to our neck of the woods for lunch. By the time I got home I realized that I really hadn't fully recovered from my late night on Wednesday and went straight to bed for a much needed nap. DD cooked breakfast for dinner and DH cleaned up the kitchen. I was very grateful.

Today has been much better. Went to Lou Lou's soccer game. I've not done a lot otherwise today. Just cleaned the kitchen, done a little office work and a load of laundry.

We're expecting rain tomorrow and lows in the 40's when we wake up Wednesday morning.

Saturday can be worse, especially in the afternoon.
I don't like jeans that sit below my natural waist, they don't stay up on me, I'm constantly pulling them up.
I won't buy any of the low waisted jeans. Not comfortable.
All of a sudden the huge black walnut tree decided to drop 1/2 of what was left on the tree,
Haha, those black walnuts will get you every time.
But a cottonwood tree is worse......

Good morning. Overcast right now, but sun is starting to shine through. It must have gotten windier overnite, as most of the leaves from the yard are now in the driveway and out in the street. I can see our neighbors porch from here, they had it all decorated with hay bales, corn stalks etc. I can see that everything is now strewn all over their porch and front lawn? That isn't nice of people to do. All of my porch decorations are still here, so I have no clue what happened to theirs.

Football Sunday, and I have already had enough football for the entire season. If Don didn't watch every darn game that was on, I wouldn't feel this way already. Even if they aren't his teams, he watches them all. I told him to start watching them late at night/early morning when I am asleep in bed, and he's in his chair. He had the tv so loud last night that it woke me up. I got up, glared at him, took the remote and turned it down half of what he had it at, and went back to bed. He said he couldn't hear it? I think the neighbors could have heard it-lol ! Men!

No plans for the day. I think we are going to have baby back ribs for dinner. Going to make up some coleslaw, and figure out some kind of potatoes.

Have a nice Sunday morning

Good Morning Friends,

Missed all of you after yesterday morning. We lost internet, landline, and TV, from around 1-almost 9pm yesterday. All is up and working just fine now. There was an outage in our area possibly due to the slight bit of rain we had. all clear today and supposed to be warmer in the week ahead which is great by me as I was chilly yesterday. Being offline and doing more reading, extra praying, time to be still, was such a blessing. Truly awesome reminder to be off how important it is to unplug! Know all of you are always in my heart and prayers. Grateful to be able to check back in this morning.

So glad to hear you safely made it to WDW, dear Taz. Snowysmom, thinking of and praying for your family and Baby Sam, extra, too! Precious kiddo pictures dear Kirby, thank you!

Dad will soon be headed to Pavilions and then briefly Sprouts. I am extra thankful to be able to watch online worship later. Oh, we did get yesterday's mail late yesterday. Missing mailbox mail from this last Tuesday-Friday. Maybe tomorrow. Still trying to figure out about the bowl. Will keep all of you posted and thanks always for your help with that and in all.

:grouphug:and may each of you in some way grow a bit closer to God this beautiful Sunday. I shall check back later.

Good afternoon.

Sarah’s party was nice last night. Andrew, Jen, and Marty there. Lots of Sarah’s friends, that I know. Some co-workers of hers and Justin’s. And family members. Jack’s sister was planning on coming but called early afternoon. She had tripped on a curb, while out shopping, and fell. Calling from the ambulance because she hurt her leg. Jack talked to her later and she was home. Sore and bruised but no broken bones.

Also a lot of kids. They were having a blast running in the yard and playing. Marty was thenoldest of the 3 babes in arms at 7 months. There was a 10 week old and a 2 week old. There were probably 15 kids under 10, most under 6, and they were LOUD. Thrived to get a cousins picture but too much excitement for a good one.

Today was church and Ravens football at 1. Stopped on the way home to drop off our ballots in a drop box. And to the grocery for a few things.

This is a sit back and relax trip.
At WDW? Never heard of a relaxed trip to Disney. Where are you staying?

. I was up till 4:00 am Thursday morning.
Was it the caffeine or fluids?

Hearing a frozen pizza for lunch. Wanted something warm.

Good early afternoon!

Love all the picture shares! Some really nice pics there!

@Breezy_Carol I am guessing based on the picture that @tazdev3225 is staying somewhere right along the Skyliner (since I think that was what the picture of her ”view” was of?) - guessing Caribbean Beach Resort or Riviera? Hope all are having a good time, and hoping that little Sam is doing better so he can travel on Tuesday. Thank you for the recipe, too, I might try it out sometime! I love how it was ‘typed’ out so neatly! (Did your Mom do that?)

@Kirby loved your pics - the one of your grandson “catching” reminded me of pics I have of my DS playing ball at that age! So darned cute! :lovestruc

Well I have good news, and bad news. I’ll start with the good news first. The first pair of my Frye boots came Friday afternoon and I LOVE THEM! They fit perfectly and I love the color and smell, etc. Was surprised at how fast they arrived! Can’t imagine myself sending them back, but waiting for the second pair to arrive. If I love them, too, I will have a tough decision to make, although both DH and DD said if that happens, I should just keep them both! One is a little more “dressy” than the other, so we’ll see. I was thinking back to the ankle boots I’ve had over the past 20 yrs and as I said before, it didn’t take long before they were falling apart. These are the type of boots that last a lifetime.

The bad news is that I have a rebound case of Covid. My head started getting full again overnight Friday into Saturday, and the bad headache came back. I had a haircut scheduled for Saturday and my hairdresser is Covid-fearful, so I retested (after negative tests last week). Nearly died when it came out positive! So the clock started again yesterday, unfortunately. I am back to quarantining/isolating again. 😫 And I feel worse this time than I did last time. I actually wound up at the doctor’s again yesterday for a pain issue in my ear. They think it’s from all the fluid, so I’m working on that. What a pain, literally! I had a lot to do this weekend and yesterday I had to take Motrin and Tylenol and it made me sleepy, so I had no choice but to rest. Very tired of this!

Wanted to mention the ham and corn chowder came out really good the other night. We just made it the way we always make our corn chowder and just added the ham. Everyone really liked it! (And I might have a little now, we had a bit left over.) Tonight DD is making her feta pasta dish for us. DH and I liked it last time she made it, but DS isn’t really a feta guy. (Oh well, he’ll eat it!) He had a date last night and answered a couple of questions about it when he came home last night (I hadn’t seen him all day as he worked, golfed, then went out with friends while I was at doctor’s), but still isn’t giving much up, lol, and says they aren’t a couple yet. Ok!

I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday! 🐥 Looking forward to seeing some trip pics from Maine and from WDW!
