Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Just here to say goodnite. I stripped and remade the bed, washed the linens, swept the kitchen, and cleaned both bathrooms. Hubby watched football and dozed. Then I did a long hot beauty treatment, and threw some Vicks Vapor Bath stuff in and sniffed it in for a good 15 minutes. Dinner was honey battered chicken nuggets, garlic sage spaetzel, and globe grapes. Going to get hubby cleaned up and then it's a little tv and then bed,,and I hope we can both sleep tonite!

Sleep well everyone!

Thank you, Carol and all the other volunteers for all you did to spruce up the church campgrounds. So glad you had nice weather today and got to enjoy a treat! We still have Corningware that my grandma bought. I think Walmart used to sell some as did years ago one of the factory outlets stores in the Citadel out here. Good stuff indeed 🍽

Pie quest would be something dad would enjoy PollyannaMom (and Carol, too). The only pie I ever truly thought was amazing was Golden Corral's Chocolate Chess Pie (minus all the cool whip which I just took off). Years ago dad made from an old cookbook a version of a similar pie but as I've gotten older, it's just way too heavy. GC's was wonderful and chocolatey sweet without being too much 🥧

🙏 you and Mr. L indeed sleep well tonight, L:ynn!

Wishing all of you sweet dreams.

Good morning, all!

I'm starting to move back to "winter hours" here. - It gets dark earlier, so my evening routine shifts, and I end up going to bed earlier. Consequently, I'm up earlier, even though it's still dark out.

No big plans for the day, though - some more decluttering, and I'll probably read while DH watches football.

Yesterday, I went to my town's Autumn Fest, and it was nice to see it back! I bought a couple of books for the kids, and some church raffle tickets, and had chicken in a "bubble waffle". It was delicious!

Good morning all. I can't believe that I slept till 8:30 this morning??? That is the latest I have slept in forever. I went to bed at 10, with my back aching, no matter how little I do lately, it sets it off, and slept till almost 4. Got up to feed the cats and Mr L was sound asleep, with the tv off for a change. I just got up at 8:35 and he's still sound asleep. We can't do that tomorrow as he has a 9:30 appt at the heart clinic, but it's nice to know we both got a little extra sleep. We've both been a bit grouchy, to say the least lately. Our 2'1 anniversary is Thursday and my birthday is Friday, but I doubt we will be celebrating either in a very big way. :(

Sunny and 52 out, going to be a high of 69, definitely Fall weather!

Only things I have to do today are taking some trash to the shed, and pass the vacuum through the house, just can't stand it anymore, cats have litter tracked on the floor (even with litter mats), and pieces of cat fur all over the carpet. But I plan on taking it very easy!

Have a nice morning everyone

That sounds like so much fun, PollyannaMom! 🍁 So glad you got to go! Post pandemic, one of the bigger events I'd love to be part of my future Smile Squad ministry is indeed a Fall Faith Festival that would definitely have assorted booths and plain fun for all.

:banana:That you slept, Lynn! :grouphug: I sure pray you do enjoy some type of Anniversary and Birthday celebrations!

Cool Sunday here and feels darker and later already like you said PollyannaMom. I am so not a fan of the upcoming time change!

Off to soon check out worship. Wishing all of you a relaxing Sunday.

The guy next door came back to finish weedwacking this morning,,and mentioned that the garden looked 'done'. I said it is..wanna tear it out for me? For $10 he took off all the tomato ties holding the plants up, pulled up the plants, put all the stakes behind the shed, pulled up the landscaping fabric and weedwacked the whole thing. Sounded like a great deal to my back..lol!

He took my other cordless weedwacker next door to see if he could get the piece of metal fencing that got caught under the spinning thing out. No big deal if he can't since I bought an identical one, will just keep that one for parts if he can get it out.

Its nice out, but very very windy, temp is 71 and that is supposed to be our high.

Happy to read that you had help!

Hooray for your helpful neighbor, Lynn!

Good to see you posting, Bobbiwoz, how are you doing? :)

Still darkish and cool here. It has felt much later (yet also more timeless) than it is all day. We have no hot water again :( Sure praying that will get fixed (again) later. I wouldn't be surprised if the problem is the ancient hot water heater and/or the plumbing to this building. As I told dad, how grateful I am we don't need hot water to still enjoy our lunchtime soup.

Wishing all of you a good and cozy afternoon!

Today is a cool day, around 70, with a bit of a breeze. It was raining all night and into the morning. Then the sun came out. We got our flu shots this morning. It is the first time I got the high dose one, courtesy of turning 65. :crazy2: The pharmacist did say I may have a bit of a reaction since it is more powerful and there is more to it. I didn't feel the needle go in at all but now I am a bit headachy, achy, and tired. I never had a flu shot reaction before. Well, at least I have a good excuse to take it easy the rest of the day. We did manage to get our walk in today. Quick easy supper tonight, most likely soup and toast.

@flyingdumbo127 I hope you get the hot water back soon. That is so frustrating.

Have a happy and restful Sunday.

Hi! I’m doing well, thank you for asking, I have always loved to ride a bike, but balance issues has kept me off of one for many years. Two friends have adult tricycles, and this year I have decided to try one out. I have an acquaintance who had bought one and could not pedal it, so in April, I began to rent one when I can. The first time was in Disney‘s HHI, and I stayed in the resort property but I was encouraged. Home in Cape May, there are many bicycles for rent, fewer adult tricycles, but I rented enough to be sure I could handle it.

Last Saturday DH put mine together! Thank you, Tom!

Rode along the Promenade this morning, and stopped to take this photo. My ankles don’t support me on sand, I don’t go down to water very often, but being able to see the ocean is a treat!!

Typical Sunday evening..winds died down,,temp is 74. Guy next door got the piece of fence wire out of my weedwacker and it works fine, and he didn't charge me.
He's also weedwacking his Dads bank out front and said he would do mine at the same time. Didn't mention being paid, and I didn't offer. I already paid them 2x for weedwacking and they only did it once, so I figure we are even

Going to make seafood salad, over a regular salad, and have cottage cheese and fruit with it

Have a nice evening..Mona, I hope they got your hot water fixed!

Thank you all so much for your hot water prayers and good wishes! I always appreciate each of you, dear Quacker family :) Update is not good but also no surprise given is that the hot water tank for the building is leaking and must be replaced. Given that today is Sunday, the management company lady (she just called) said she will be working on it this evening and tomorrow morning. Now it's up to her to appease the owner by getting at least a few bids on pricing before getting his okay. She does understand (I certainly hope)! that extra during a pandemic hot water is a necessity---I sure won't take it for granted again! We pray that this gets resolved tomorrow. Dad (I feel so badly he had to go out on a Sunday later afternoon) is out headed to Rite now after being overall disappointed by what the 99 cent only store had. He was able to get some extra plastic silverware and wipes there so that was a positive. Hopefully Rite Aid will have paper bowls and a couple other handy supplies. I would sure appreciate prayers that this does indeed get taken care of tomorrow 🙏

:grouphug: Snowysmom. Some extra warm soup does sound good today. Prayers you get some good rest tonight and feel much better in the morning, my friend.

What a cool idea and thing to have, Bobbiwoz, especially with the basket on the back. It's like an unmotorized, easier to steer, scooter! Good for you for getting one and have fun using it!

You just please have a good evening Lynn and get sleep again tonight. I am truly so thankful for your neighbor helping you!

 to all.

Dad got some bigger wipes which I will prefer to the cold shower! On regular nights, sometimes if the upstairs neighbor is showering at the same time one of us is, that can both lower water pressure and temperature suddenly! We try to not let that happen when possible but sometimes it does on its own anyway. Lol, I don't need to purposely take a truly cold or very cool shower! Thanks everyone for your continued prayers. I'll certainly update in the morning once I know something.

Good morning. Figures, I got plenty of sleep Saturday night, couldn't sleep at all last nite. Was awake most of the night,,as was Mr L. He has an appt at heart clinic at 9:30 so I have to get moving.

Is going to be sunny and 82 today.

Have a nice morning, and I will be back later to check in

Happy Monday morning :flower2: .

Busy weekend for me. Worked Friday night from 6pm-6:30am. Got home and grabbed a couple hours of sleep before I had to drive almost an hour for a bridal shower. She got a lot of nice things. I gave her all her baking pans and the Joanna Gaines cookbook. I flipped through the cookbook before I wrapped it and it looks like it has a lot of good recipes. I wrote down the chicken-n-dumplings recipe but then I thought I might as well buy the book for myself. It was held at a winery but I didn't drink any wine. I figured wine+being tired=not a good drive home :sad2:. I ended up going to bed at 8 pm and slept until 8:30 am.

Sunday I had to run to work to take my CPR test. My certification expires this coming Friday and I work Saturday so I was afraid they wouldn't let me come to work until I took care of it. I was planning on doing the test last Friday night when I worked but we ended up getting busy.

Nothing going on today, working from home today and Friday. Easy dinner tonight, cheese ravioli & garlic bread.

Everyone have a good day! :flower1:

Heart clinic appt went well. They did bloodwork and gave him a flu shot while we were in there, so he didn't have to risk the diagnostic center. She is going to have the Social Worker check on getting us some discounts on his 3 expensive meds. She said we should not have to be paying almost $1000 every 3 months for them, so I hope they can find something! Also had good news on the scale..he's lost 27 lbs in the last 2 months!!

Stepdaughter went down to cvs and picked up his one last scrip that needed to be filled through the end of the year..why can't all of them be $5.41 for 90 days? lol!

Hubby got up the back step even easier this time than before..on his last visit tomorrow, Matt is going to have him try going down frontwards instead of backwards, just so we know if he can use it.

Sun is out, temp is 65. I am off to do laundry, and take it easy on my back. I had them call transport at the hospital to take him up to the office and then down, just to save my back..since it wasn't busy, it was fast!

Enjoy the rest of your morning..

Mona--you are up early today!
