I pray your DH has fluids LONG before tomorrow, Lynn :(

O/T Minor note/word of warning on an Amazon seller called ChromaLabel. This is what I ordered: Ordered I received: Received Here's the "worse part." What I received, was labelled as "Fluorescent" yet clearly matches "Lime." Amazon said others have had issue with this same company before so they are aware of it. I sure hope this time they let the company know! Dad has to return the wrong tape to a UPS store. Once it is scanned, it will be refunded. I would still like a tape the right color. The paper is fadeless, the tape would not be which was one reason I ordered the brighter shade. Minor vent absolutely just frustrating.

One other Amazon :rolleyes2 from today. I got the paper for my walls. I ma very happy with it. The Nile Green I ordered is exactly the Nile Green that came, yay. What we weren't happy with was that UPS delivered this package to an upstairs neighbor! We live downstairs. We only knew it had been delivered because I happened to look on Amazon and then Dad took a walk across the common are row of apartments and could see the box upstairs :P Amazon kindly did issue us a $5 credit for this and said they will let the driver know.

Those 2 colors are nowhere near the same Mona. It was shipped by Amazon, which makes them liable for it. I am surprised they are telling you that you have to return it to a UPS store and then get a refund..especially for a 'not very expensive' item! :( They should have just issued you a refund and told you to dispose of it or donate it, then you could order the right color. Can you find the same tape from a different seller, so you don't have the same issue again?

Sometimes you just can't win with deliveries--at least your Dad was able to find it for you!!

Thank you, my friend. I'm talking with Amazon right now. The representative is processing the refund. No return needed because I did let her know that give the circumstances (bait and switch) in a way, I did not feel we should need to. I will never order from this seller again and sure will not recommend them. I appreciate your agreeing! Prayers you have a good evening.

The plan is to get up at 6 tomorrow and be on the road to the beach by 7. The parking lot at Cape Henlopen Delaware Seashore State Park can fill up and traffic can get bad. Chairs and umbrella in the car. Lunch made and ready to go in cooler. Beach bag packed. @sparkle78, so close to where you'll be.

Probably won't check in until back home tomorrow night.

The only good snake is a dead snake. I grew up with my grandparents on my mom's side living out in rattlesnake country. We learned very young if we saw a snake to run to the house. The boys thought it great fun when they were considered old enough to go shoot a snake with a 22 shot gun or chop it's head off with a shovel.

He just called me and his nurse was in the room. She said they don't usually tell patients they are on fluid restrictions. All fine and good , but they have not been restricting it since Monday, this all just started tonite at dinner! She apologized and said someone has something crossed along the lines somewhere. She will leave word for the night nurse and for dietary to come and talk to me tomorrow. What gets me is the 3 cups of water on his tray (untouched), the juice, tea, milk at breakfast, ice tea at lunch, but he can't have a small extra carton of milk at dinner? She said there was something wrong somewhere,,cause his fluid intake was fine for the day and he should have been allowed the extra milk. One person says one thing, someone else says something else..and we sit here confused ! View attachment 588115

The nurse just called me back before she left, and said everything will be straightened out tomorrow..we shall see!
Unfortunately it’s a common problem and it’s frustrating for everyone. Sometimes diet orders change when meals are held (NPO) and then they start up again and someone rewrites the diet order. Or they may have added a fluid restriction if he’s on a diuretic but his weight was going up and/or he’s showing signs of fluid retention. Or a test showed signs of excess fluid, etc. There can be lots of reasons. Hopefully they can help explain specifics to you today.

Good morning everyone. I know it's morning, but I am losing track of the days. Good thing I have a calendar in front of me, lol. Its a lot cooler out this morning at 62, so I opened up the windows so the cats could look out through the screens till I leave. I will close up and put the ac on then. Going to be 82, so it has to be mowing day when I get home this afternoon. Temps start going back to 90's again tomorrow and through the week, not much chance of rain in sight at the moment. Watered everything well last nite, that should hold it till tomorrow morning.
Off to get ready for the day..have a great one
@Breezy_Carol..hope you can beat the traffic, have a great day at the beach!
@flyingdumbo127--glad Amazon didn't make you go through the hassle of returning a roll of tape!
@Pea-n-Me Thanks again for input, makes more sense to me when only 1 person at a time is explaining things..there are always too many people in his room when someone is trying to tell me stuff!

As kids we were once in a while tasked with shooting the rats outside of the pig barn 8-) - luckily no poisonous snakes or rattlesnakes around here, but the big black snakes & water snakes skeeve me out!

Off to get ready for the day..have a great one

You, too! I hope everything goes well at the hospital today for your husband!

I'm off to pick up the new foster down in far southern MD in a bit, then I have a date with my tractor and the finish mower this afternoon.

We see signs for that state park when we use the CM/Lewes ferry. I hope you got there in time to get a space. Have a great day!

I know it's morning, but I am losing track of the days...

Happens to me every summer! :rotfl2:

I was up early today, as DS had to cover a really early shift at work. - I made him some breakfast, but then mostly just lounged on the couch with my coffee and watched Bridgerton until DH got up.

I'm out with a cat at the moment, but will head in and make breakfast for DH and I in a couple of minutes.

I fell back asleep on the couch, woke up to 2 cats sitting there staring intently at me. The other was content to be sitting in the open window. An email reminded me it was Hallmark Ornament Premiere Day, so I just browsed, picked up a couple of gifts and the free tote they are offering with purchase of ornaments, and that is my splurge for the day. If the grass is dry, I may try to get half of it done before I need to leave, since I can't get in before 10 anyhow. Off to get ready!

Managed to get the whole lawn mowed in an hour. Will clean the mower off when I get home, then go in the garden and tie up the tomato plants..again..lots and lots of baby tomatoes growing!

A friend works in Hallmark store in Tulsa OK. The store was opened from 11PM last night until 2AM this morning for the Ornament Premiere! Now she has to be there for 9 AM opening this morning. Busy day!

Hi to all Quackers this AM. We had some strong storms move through last night. The sweet corn in our garden is heavily leaning after last nights winds.

Breezy-Hope your trip to the beach is fun and you make many happy memories. I think the ocean is beautiful, but I'm really not a beach person. I have not been often, but usually I'm ready to leave after about an hour. I'm not a fan of hot in anyway and sitting in the sun, even under an umbrella for long periods of time just doesn't appeal to me. I don't mind walking along the water, but have no desire to actually swim too far out either. Funny, I love to swim, just prefer a pool to the "unknowns" in the ocean. My kids on the other hand would stay from sun up until sun down if it were an option. We don't live close to a beach, so they've only been twice.

lynxstch-You and your ambition never cease to amaze me. Prayers and good thoughts still to both you and your husband. I hope you are able to get the answers you need and he the help that he needs to be able to come home when he is truly ready...which is hopefully after some rehabilitation, as that seems like the next best step.

flyingdumbo I hope your new tape arrives soon and you can enjoy redecorating your room. I want to give you so much credit for always being so positive. I am encouraged by you and how you are positive even though you have hardly been able to leave your apartment for so long. I hope you soon will be able to venture out more, even if its for walks outside.

apirateslife-How fun that Josh is so enthusiastic about his gymnastics. It's so fun to see them discover what their interests are.

As far as snakes go...NO THANK YOU...enough said.

🌞🌸❤ to all and Good Morning, too!

So many prayers for Quackers, their DH's, and doggies, too. Much care to all of you :) I hope you are having a safe and fun trip, Carol.

Lynn and PollyannaMom, these days especially days have a way of melting into each other! I think this was much more so last year when we were truly in the thick of the pandemic. I do remember times when lol I really thought it was a different day than it was!

I had fun looking at the Hallmark ornaments! Thanks for sharing those :) There are a couple I really like for myself. There's also some that would be great gifts or for a future memory post pandemic with Dad. There's even one I saw that would be perfect for a fellow Quacker. I wish shipping weren't $6.99. unless you spend $50. Do any of you know if that is ever less? Thank you!

Saturday joy to all!

I am home..and not a happy camper. The weather is nice though..83 and breezy. One bright spot in my day so far.

I had more issues at the hospital this morning. I know they are overworked, and I know they are understaffed, and I know it's the weekend BUT...

When someone uses the call button because they need the bedpan, it should not take 20 min to get someone in there to get one.

When someone uses the call button because the heart rate alarm has been going off for 20 min, it should not take someone long to arrive. They have monitors at the desk, I know because I walked out there and looked, and at least 3 of them were showing the alarms going off.

I had to ask for his nurse 3x. First I wanted to know what his potassium rate was from yesterday (its back down to normal) and I wanted to know what the Dr had to say, and I wanted to know if they had really restarted his Entresto last nite (hubby's mind still gets foggy). After I waited 15 min, with no nurse (only male nurse on the floor), I walked out to the desk and asked my questions. And got the answers I needed (they did restart the Entrestro)

Then the heart rate alarm was doing all kinds of crazy things. I found one of the sensors of the plug off (there were 5 plugs and 1 had come out.) I plugged it back in and it went back to normal.,for about 20 min..then started dinging and making all kinds of noises. Hubby says I can't rest with all that noise,,get someone. So I pressed the call button. No response. There is a thing written on the board that says 'our goal is to answer your light within 5 min,,if we don't, call this number'. So I call..no answer...call again..no answer..call a third time..no answer..by this time hubby needed to use the bedpan again. So I went to the desk again,,and said SEND HIS NURSE>>NOW. I was losing my patience quickly. His nurse doesn't come in, but some other CNA does. She gets the bedpan and says press the button when you are done. So he does his business..and we press it. She comes in and takes the bedpan out, but doesn't clean him up? I said you need to clean him, and you need to get someone to help you pull him up in the bed and fix the hoist pad and the absorbent pad as they are up under his bed. She says I will be right back.

I am not lying--I timed it..20 minutes later..noone..I go to the desk again,,and ask to talk to the Charge Nurse. She comes out and I explain everything to her..the not cleaning him..noone coming to pull him up, the heart alarm going off , and not knowing why etc. She says I will find his nurse for you. Not 2 minutes later,,in comes the nurse. He claims he was in another room, which is possible,,but he only had 4 rooms, so only 4 patients..why could he not send someone else if he was busy???

He comes in with another nurse,,she cleans him up, gets another absorbent pad for his leg, since the gauze was getting leaky, and then left to get something else. The male nurse went and got all the supplies to rebandage his leg without being asked by me. Then they got the pads straightened out, and slid him up where he was comfortable. He found a loose adhesive pad on one of the leads going to the monitor for the heart rate, and changed it, so the monitor settled back down. But for petes, sake..was all of my having to complain necessary to get things done that should have been done? And noone came in to check on him for almost 2 hours prior to that!

Hubby gets upset when I complain,,this morning he got mad at me. I said you won't say anything to them, so if Summer and I, don't get mad at us because we have legitimate complaints about the care you are receiving. If he wasn't on 'high level' care unit, it would be understandable,,but he is! Then hubby tells me that last nite he needed to use the bedpan, and he waited 40 minutes???? I said huh? He said the charge nurse finally came in and took care of it because there was noone else. So back out I went and found the charge nurse for today, and had her add that to my list of complaints. I'm sorry, but overworked, and understaffed or not..some things cannot be let go like that.

I came home so upset that my stomach hurt, and I have a heck of a headache..

Oh..and they brought him his lunch. A cheeseburger with no lettuce or tomato, ketchup, which for 3 days they said he couldn't have, strawberry yogurt, a coke, and Ensure. I said to the lady, take that Ensure off the tray and don't bring it again. She says I have to, the Dr ordered it..here we go again..he told me he did not order it, that dietary did. I said listen..I don't care who ordered it. We are not having him drink it since it has so much potassium in it. We do not want his potassium rate going up again. So either don't bring it, or I will just toss it in the trash (which I hate to do cause it's so expensive). She just looked at me,,picked it up and took it away,,lol. I am sure they are all going to be calling me a *itch..but I have learned if you don't speak up and complain,,noone is going to listen and nothing is going to get fixed. I am also reporting all of this to the Patient Advocate on Monday as they are off on the weekend from what I was told. I have all the notes and names in my phone, so I will have it ready.

Probably won't hear about rehab till Monday either, but the Dr didn't mention discharge at all for a change. He also said that leg should be healed in another week,,so that's one good thing!

Thank you all for letting me vent. If you start reading , and aren't interested, feel free to stop at any time..lol

I am off to take some excedrin and lay down with a cold cloth over my eyes for half an hour.

Have a nice afternoon everyone (and boy am I glad I mowed this morning, no way could I have done it now!), lol!
