geez..I typed that at 4:30 am and it never sent when I hit post...Have a good trip Carol!

Get some rest, Lynn, please! I was cold last night until I replaced a lighter throw blanket with a full size one than all was cozier.

Also, all afternoon yesterday strange things were occurring in the house next door. There are two identical houses on the back side of this building. Both were built close to 100 years ago now by a man named Jacob. Jacob died a number of years ago. Since then there have been many questionable (LOUD parties at all hours for one) temporary renters, A few times it seemed as though his grand daughter was going to sell the house either to someone to live in or perhaps the city to take over for more apartments. Neither ever happened. Anyway last year for a while a Dad with two young sons seemed to live there. I never saw the mother but did hear at least once one of the boys say he wanted his mom as he ran inside. They all have vanished pretty much as the place for the most part is quiet (yay) and empty. There have been various workers at times but no one consistent. A few weeks ago for a day or two the dad and boys were back and that was the end of them!

Yesterday afternoon, in the backyard which I can clearly see out my bedroom window, was a huge spotlight and filming crew. Something was being staged and then filmed as late as 10pm! All is thankfully calm and quiet now. Hope it stays that way.

Safe travels to you Carol and have a wonderful trip, my friend.

I'm sorry your own travel this morning Easyas is not too fun but of course wishing you a safe time on the road as well.

Have a good Tuesday all.

@Kirby--I have never seen that kind of flower before...it's beautiful!
@flyingdumbo127--wonder what is being filmed behind your apartment bldg..that sounds very odd about the people coming and going all the time.
We are already at 81 degrees. I took all of the tomato plants I transplanted 2 weeks ago and put them inside the greenhouse along with my 6 boxes of herbs that have already sprouted. Then I went down cellar and transplanted the rest of the tomatoes, that we are keeping. I will put them out in a couple of days after they get used to their new pots.
Weather is so gorgeous, nice breeze, sunshine, white clouds and blue sky. Could stay like this till September!

Wow, such a pretty purple color, Kirby! I also never heard of that kind of flower.

Lynn, all I can say is thankfully all is quiet right now out there. That house is very strange at times indeed!

PollyannaMom, I admit to forgetting to check it out also. I will let you know should I see that it is reairing :)

Sun is warming up the apartment for which I am sure grateful.

Wishing all of you a good afternoon:sunny:

Thank you, Lynn and Amen to those ladies words :)

I think I've become cold blooded although this apartment does get very chilly :( Pre pandemic, when I was both overweight and out all the time, I usually ran warm though I did get cool easily when it was truly cold outside. I am so grateful to God to be thin and so much healthier now all-around. Of course as all of you know, I am homebound due to the plague. My body just doesn't regulate temperature the way it used to and one day I pray will better again when it is safe for me to get out again more regularly :)

I've enjoyed a cozy afternoon reading. I hope (always) each of you are having a good day.

Also if you have not read Jim Henson’s book and how he got started, it’s a good read
Thanks for the recommendation! I'm always looking for a good book to read.

They are Allium Schubertii or Starburst Allium. I found the bulbs at a local garden center about six years ago. That one is the only one that has hung in there. I saw them for the first time at the Dallas Arboretum. They can really make a statement in your garden. And once they have dried can make an awesome center piece for your table.

The GKs allergies are really kicking in. I don't know what pollen is out there at the moment but its really bothering them, possible sinus infection. DD was able to get a liquid z pack for them but Lil Joe throws up any medicine he takes. He's like me, I don't do liquid medicine.

I went to my first book club meeting in over a year last night. It was so nice to see everyone! And, of course, our meeting ran lots longer than it normally does with all the catching up we needed to do.

Dinner tonight was spaghetti pie and salad with Sister Shubert rolls. I haven't made spaghetti pie in over a year. It was nice for a change and it's DH's favorite.

Storms expected overnight, not severe just small hail possible. Stronger storms tomorrow and rain through Thursday.

I haven't made spaghetti pie in a long time..you just gave me an idea for a dinner in the next few days! Thanks!!!

Well its almost the end of April..so maybe the rains will soon be gone too!

Good Morning everyone! It stayed at 62 degrees overnite,,it was very warm inside and out. Slept with both the bedroom windows open and the ceiling fans on. Left 2 other windows in the house 1/2 open so it was bearable for the cats to sleep too.

It's grocery day here, will be hitting the stores fairly early before the temps climb to upper 80's again. Makes me so glad I got all the yardwork done on Monday when it was 65!

Have a great day !

Good morning.

Beautiful weather yesterday and predicted for the next few. We stopped in OC, MD on the way south. Rode our bikes the full length of the boardwalk, total of 4.7 miles. Nice and flat but very windy. Continued to Chincoteague. Picked up subs and ate at the park where the annual pony swim happens in July. Again, very windy. Drove around to check out restaurants until hotel check in time. Chilled for a while before we got a carry out seafood dinner. Or room has a nice table and chairs where we can eat. Took a short 2.7 mile ride before it got dark.

Planning to do the trails in Assateague this morning and maybe beach time this afternoon.

@Kirby, what did you read for book club?

I did enjoy the Sesame Street documentary. It related what the lessons were to society.

I’ve heard of but never had spaghetti pie. What is it?

I’m reading everything but can’t remember to comment on all. I miss @apirateslifeforme. I do see her post on Facebook.

Glad you are having a good time, and relaxing and enjoying the weather Carol!
Spaghetti pie is basically just what it says. You mix all the ingredients you would for spaghetti, with sauce, meat, cheese etc..then bake it in a cake or pie pan, or casserole till done!

I've not heard of spaghetti pie either!
Learn something new here every day....
Dusted off the capri jeans this morning, it was so darn nice outside! Might even have on flip flops-
Caesar salad with sautéed shrimp on dinner menu tonight.
Kids have to drive down to Louisiana on Thursday night to pick up a boat they had built, think they'll take husbands truck since it has a larger towing capacity, so I'll probably help him clear his stuff out of it for the remainder of the work week. Then I will pre-yell at them about being careful driving so far overnight.
Looks like we are going down to deliver a golf cart to my parents place in FL next month so we decided to make a pit stop at Disney Springs. Made a hotel reservation and a dinner reservation, should be a nice few hours.

Good Morning 🐤

I hope your grandkids feel better, Kirby! How wonderful that you got to attend a book club meeting :)

Smart move, Lynn to shop early before the heat of the day sets in. I hope by now you are home :)

That sounds like a lovely afternoon, Carol, I’m so glad. I got a PM from Apirateslifeforme yesterday. I mentioned that she is missed in our thread. She’s fine just been enjoying nicer weather. I also hope she will come back and post soon.

What a great idea, Easyas, have fun!

Today is hopefully beginning a warm up out here for a few days. I'm looking forward to tomorrow seeing for a few minutes (wave/say hi from above) a friend coming by who will be standing on the sidewalk by the front of the building.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Wednesday.

Yes home, everything put away, lots of good bargains, and got 2 different briskets from Aldi's. One is Texas smokehouse bbq and the other is salt and pepper. Both are in the deep freeze till we need them. And I wore shorts to the store,,its 82 out,,clouds moving in,,rain tonite and tomorrow, fine by me--no yard work will have to be done, lol!
