Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

First chance I’ve had to write, was exhausted after this week and yesterday, etc. Slept a lot today - and perfect day for it, rainy and raw. We had a nice ceremony yesterday at the cemetery and it was the perfect day for it - sunny and not too warm, not too cold, just right. It was nice to see extended family all together. (No masks, which was also nice. (Most everyone has been vaccinated.) Afterward we went to a restaurant (mask rules applied) but we had a big room to ourselves and a nice luncheon meal. DH and I drove by ourselves so we had a leisurely ride home and stopped for a small ice cream at a favorite place of the past, so it was a nice day. Watching a movie now, have a good night everyone!

@easyas123, I remember clearing out my grandparents house back in 1984. They were heavy smokers. Everything had a nicotine stain on it. When we took pictures off of the wall there were lighter spots where the pictures had hung. It was amazing how pretty some of the things were that we kept after the stain had been removed.

My sister came over yesterday and we went through some more of my mom's stuff. We found stuff that belonged to my grandparents which was interesting. Some of it we are going give to her sister.

I slept in this morning, got up at 8:00 am. That is late for me but I needed it. I actually got eight hours of uninterrupted sleep this time. That doesn't happen very often. Took my time eating breakfast and just tootling around the house. Folded up the towels and sheets, cleaned our bathroom. Read some. Went to the grocery store for a few things. DH grilled chicken and yellow squash, I added mac & cheese and Ranch Style beans. Sat outside for awhile, the evening was beautiful! Now to get the GKs settled down for the night.

Good morning DIS family, and welcome to another week! Going to be sunny and 65 today, then mid 80's the next 2 days, that will be quite a jump! It just might be time to take the cover off the new central air unit outside and make sure it works, lol

I woke with a headache again this morning, but I had very odd dreams all night and tossed and turned a lot so maybe that's part of it. Hopefully the excedrin I just took with get rid of it. I need to mow the lawn today.

Have a nice morning, take a minute to stop and smell the roses.,,or lilacs,,or whatever gives you a moment to pause and remember a few good things in life!

Good afternoon here.

I brought one of the arrangements of flowers from the church home and they make the whole house smell good.

DH and I have mowed the yard. I still need to hand trim around some of the plants. Then I think we will go out and pick up more rocks. Amazing how many appear in the yard as it settles.

Have to pack to leave tomorrow for our three nights in Chincoteague.

I just finished mowing and weedwacking ours again. Refuse to do it if the temp is over 83 which it's supposed to be the next 2 days..then calling for rain..so it's done

Have a great 3 day getaway--I'm very envious!

Have a wonderful trip, Carol! I look forward to hearing about it and seeing a picture or two as well. Fresh flowers sure do brighten up a space! 💐

Glad you are done with your yardwork, Lynn! That does not sound like much fun at all. I will, however, happily take the 83 degrees:sunny:

11:30 almost here so closer to afternoon. Hope all of you are having a good one!

Mona, that movie sounds cute!

I like your idea about getting kids and seniors together, too. When DS was really little, we lived in a town where the library and senior center shared a building. They used to do some crossover things occasionally, and both the kids and the seniors loved it!

Last post on the bottom of page 1? Not allowed! We had leftovers for dinner..rice a roni beef, and I added ground beef to it. Had salad and cottage cheese with that. Dishes are done, all cats are settled for the nite. We got up to 74 degrees, but at least now they say the next 2 days will only be around 81. Have a nice evening everyone!

I love that PollyannaMom! What a neat experience for your DS as well :) I'll let you know if I see the movie listed again. It was sweet.

Thank you for rescuing our thread, Lynn! Wishing you a nice evening, too!

I enjoyed talking with two elderly (as in 95 and 97) year old church friends this afternoon. Thank God, both are doing well. Sue is expecting her latest great grandson to be born later today!

Whew - well it's been a long day. I'm glad the end of it is near, and hope tomorrow is easier. Sometimes it's hard when parts of your family are far away when you want to help them.

Husband got garden in this evening. I "helped"...that is, I brought him out a beer ::yes:: mid way thru his planting. And then as a wonderful wife, I microwaved him some leftovers for his late dinner while he watches reruns of The Office. There is just nothing on tonight.

Got a almost full day on the road tomorrow, and I'm a-ok with that. I'll be getting some stuff accomplished so that's good!

It's looking like a beautiful couple of days in our area, and I am looking forward to a bit of sunshine and warmth. Dogs survived their first full afternoon in their new fenced yard area!

I could use a piece of cheesecake. Chocolate cheesecake. Chocolate flourless cake with cheesecake on top.

Speaking of Seasme street....i got to have lunch with Susan from the show back in the early 2000s. I was chosen along with 3 others out of our education graduation class of around 400. it was a great experience. Also if you have not read Jim Henson’s book and how he got started, it’s a good read

Good morning everyone. Didn't sleep well last nite, tossed and turned and could not get comfortable.
Stepdaughter messaged hubby last nite that she hadn't 'heard' from us for awhile, just wanted to say hello" ? She lives 15 min away, and knows that hubby can't be running around visiting them with his health issues and covid, so what does she expect? She also messaged that Lily is going to her prom on May 8, that she was busy getting thing I must be out of the loop, since when did Freshmen have a prom? She found dresses for all the girls at Goodwill in Morgantown and is making their corsages and lapel flowers for the guys. Bet she's paying for a limo too..that would be just like her, lol
Back to sleep for an hour or more if I can. Have a nice morning.

It also didn't add my picture,,so edited to add it, can't have a day without a DIS picture!
