Good Thursday morning DIS family! It's a chilly 27 outside, and won't be going much higher. Goddaughter had her baby boy after only 40 min at the hospital..she almost waited too long, as she was just about ready to push by the time she decided she better call her boyfriend to hurry home from work and get her to the hospital!

Frustrating is the right word! I sympathize with your dad -- which app/websites are you using for this? This newer site is easier to use and might be helpful: https://www.vaccinateca.com/. I used this site to get appointments for my parents: https://carbonhealth.com/covid-19-v...f-1YWsAbBaSwshVDLGG6asxnxsw2C3M6LjPH3EY6wE85s. Trying both sites during off peak times of day can help, e.g. later at night or very early in the morning. Much like trying to get a Boarding Pass or Max Pass time at DL, hit refresh again and again -- it can pay off with a time slot, even when the site says that nothing is available. Will pray that your dad finds an available appointment!

I will be on pins and needles all day waiting to hear from my grandson or his mother. They better send pics! I have plenty to keep me busy though while I wait. Still need to do more prep work on the kitchen walls, have to take my granddaughter to the dentist and then there is laundry and food distribution at church. If that isn't enough I have to get my 2 grandsons from school this afternoon. They told me it is to cold for them to walk.

Oh well I am off to Facebook to wait for my grandson's mother to announce the birth. That may be how I find out.

Congrats on the new family additions to everyone!

Dang it was cold and windy outside this AM! I made a tactical error yesterday...had some boxes in my car that I needed to unload at the house and when I got home I figured I'd put it off till this morning. Big mistake, what a pain it was hauling in 6 boxes from the car in the cold and wind.

Did get a good nights sleep, and I feel better for it. Dogs slept thru the night for the first time in several nights. It's love season out in the woods for the foxes and the dogs are on full alert listening to all that is going on thru the night! If you've ever heard a fox carry on - it can be loud. Anyway, good nights sleep meant I was up and at em this morning. Managed to get the bed stripped and remade, old sheets washed, then in dryer and got the towels in the wash, and unloaded the dishwasher- and still managed to get in the office by 7:45. I suspect I'll be dragging by 3PM, but once I'm awake I'm awake, so I couldn't get back to sleep.

I'm sorry you had heavy lifting in the cold work, Easyas, definitely no fun. Hope you have a much more relaxing rest of the day.

My comforter was wonderful last night and sure helped me sleep better. I'm sure praying my new robe will show up today--Amazon says it'll come by 10pm and so far so good there is no mention of it being delivered through the post office!

Bumping cause we are on page 2. Geez..how excited was I this morning,,I made the new baby's name backwards..lol..Its Mateo Blake,,they are going to call him Matty..
Still very cold and windy outside..high temp got to 30,,,down to 20 overnite tonite. Did laundry, emptied , cleaned and refilled fish tank. Going to take a long hot bath now. Dinner is going to be hamburg gravy over homemade mashed potatoes, carrots, and have to find a fruit. Have a nice rest of the afternoon.

I am going for a record number of robocalls today. Hubby has had 3,,2 for 'car warranty' and one saying his application for student loan forgiveness has been accepted, lol. I have had 2 claiming they were Amazon Prime, that my account had been suspended, 1 from the student loan thing, one for car warranty, and 2 claiming they were Social Security and that my account had been suspended. 2 more from 'Visa or Mastercard', and 1 thanking me for being a Hilton Hotel customer (never stayed at a Hilton, lol). I know these are all scammers, but I feel bad for the people who don't know any better, and call these morons back and give them personal information.

I rarely answer the phone. Lately when I have, it was for solar panels or Amy telling me I can get some home medical device.

@easyas123, very cold and windy here too.

I made a grocery order expecting the earliest pick up time to be tomorrow. It cam back with a time this afternoon so I got it today too. Wanted to get it done before the snow rush. If snow is predicted, it will get crazy. They forgot my apples that I paid for so I had to go back to the store and get them. Not a big deal.

I started a new jigsaw puzzle, one form the basement I had done before. It is only 500 pieces after the last two were 1000 so seems easy.

Yikes, how awful all those scam calls and emails! I seem to be getting many more spam emails! We never answer any call unless we recognize the contact calling. Yesterday we got two calls saying "Spam Risk."

A 500 piece puzzle to me, Carol, sounds like quite an undertaking! What is it of?

I've been sticker organizing this afternoon! Would any of you like some assorted stickers either for yourself, family, or church? I'll take a picture of my card table covered in stickers and will post it later.

It's just after 2pm here so it's early evening for a lot of you already, wow. Prayers you are all now safely home for the night.

Today it is around 30 and has been lightly snowing most of the day. Early this morning the roads had black ice. It is my day to go into the office and I usually leave the house around 6:15 am. I did some work at home and went in around 9:00 am. The roads were just wet so it was much better. Now we are waiting for the really cold weather to come in this weekend. Jasper may not be getting his walks for a few days. Too cold for a little doggie with health issues. I don't think DH and I will get walks in either if the wind chill is below zero. He has issues with the cold air hitting his lungs. He wears a mask as well as a scarf to warm the air. I don't think he would do well either. I may have to hoof it by myself.

Supper tonight is chicken sausages and leftover stuffed pepper. I stuffed the red pepper with mashed sweet potato, chopped onion, pinto beans, and low fat cheese. So yummy! Tomorrow night we will get something out probably at our favorite Italian place.

As I get older the cold weather is starting to bother me a bit. I used to love it and could be out in it for a while. Now I just hope I burn extra calories walking in the cold. Jasper may not like that his walks may be missed for a few days but his health is more important. January in New England is cold, cold, cold.

Do any of you check out the “ what i baked today, doesn’t have to be from scratch thread “. ? One commenter said: Today I made cinnamon rolls using Paula Deen’s recipe. They were so good!
I responded with : I haven’t made those inawhile, with the snow on the ground and day off tomorrow. I might make some for the weekend.

Have you tried her Christmas Eve rolls/monkey bread recipe ? You take already made bread roll dough. Think Rhodes rolls, place in a Bundt pan, sprinkle butterscotch pudding, melted buttter and brown sugar on them. Let them rise overnight and bake in the morning. The butterscotch crust and gooeyness make them delicious

tonight, my youngest likes to make choc cake. He got me a cookbook for Mother’s Day several years ago called The chocolate cake doctor You start with a box mix of devils food choc cake then add to it - applesauce, sour cream, etc. or bake it like normal and do special icing. tonight we are making a 2 layer cake. Half of the cake will have a layer of choc icing and then a layer of Peanut butter, his request. I will put a choc cherry icing on my and hubbie’s half.
to make cherry chocolate icing......melt choc chips or choc pieces with 1/2 a can of condensed milk in a double boiler pan, then add JUST the juice from a maraschino cherry jar, slowly till you get the thickness you want. Use the cherries for decoration on top. Enjoy

Oooh, those sound good! I've made stuffed peppers lots of times, but usually with rice and ground turkey. I will have to try those!
