I don't snack while watching TV but I love to eat popcorn while reading on the computer. I hear you about the gray hair. I finally colored my hair yesterday and it came out really nice. I feel a bit better so that helped. We signed up for Britbox yesterday and watched the Easter Bunny episode of The Vicar of Dibley. So funny. There are some other shows I never heard of before that I am curious about. I am getting a bit tired of the commercials on mainstream TV about Covid 19. I need some down time from that so Britbox and DVDs are my way of having some peace.

Gratitude:
The snow on the forsythias yesterday was beautiful and the forsythias held up and are beautiful today in the sun.
We finally got the new curtains put up in the living room.
It was nice to walk in the warmer weather.
And, I love this thread. So warm and fun.

PETS...we currently have one cat. A grey striped tabby, about 13 years old, named Dio (after Ronnie James Dio, DH's favorite singer). He is a complete dude. He loves his food, but it must be seafood; no chicken, turkey, or beef. Goes crazy for anything shrimp (just like me). He's a big boy, too; about 15 lbs. but long and thin! My BIL sees him and says, "Is that a cat or a mountain lion?" One thing we noticed since his buddy passed away is that he goes through spurts of losing the hair on his belly and legs. We're wondering if it's stress, or depression - he doesn't play nearly as much as he did when Monster was still here - or if the weather affects him, as we notice that he scratches more and loses the hair in the colder months, when we have the heat on and we're all dry and itchy. He's affectionate, but on his terms. Likes to have his head scratched.

We also had another cat, a pretty little black kitty named Monster. She passed away of kidney failure a few days after Christmas 2017. She was 17 1/2. Crabby little thing...she would just glare at Dio and I as if to say, "Why are you here? Things were so much nicer when it was just me and Daddy..." She was TINY. 9 lbs. at her largest; DH called her Nine Pounds of Fury. She actually belonged to my BIL at first, and he named her Monster after the black cat on the cover of the REM album of the same name. That name definitely suited her! We all called her Monster Mash. She had the most beautiful green eyes. She loved it when I'd roast a chicken; she'd pace the room behind me, making little chirps. She used to meow in such a way that really truly sounded like someone saying "Hello" - creeped me out when I first heard it; I thought someone was in the house!

They used to sit in these chairs in our old condo just like this - I called them the Bunkers; they each had their own chair! And they teamed up whenever I opened a can of tuna - I'd turn around to see them sitting side-by-side, staring at me like the twins from the Shining...

Mom is a sitcom that airs on CBS on Thursday evenings. It is in it's seventh season now you can catch the previous six seasons in reruns on various networks.
LOL. I thought MOM were initials for a show I hadn't heard of. That was a "duh" moment for me.

Hi all and happy Sunday.
First big hugs to those hurting or worrying. We are here.
It's been a study day here with my accounting test this evening. I got solid B so I'm okay. Could been better could been worse..sounds like my first time in college lol My overachiever husband of course has 4.xx something past 4.0...I told him no one likes overachiever lol

Dinner was baked pork chops with broccoli macaroni and cheese.

Question of the day: 4/18: Whatcha watching and whatcha snacking on when watching?
Im a snacker whether I'm watching TV or not. LOL I've been watching WAY to much and eating too much too. LOL My go to snack is cheese and crackers. I love sharp cheddar and sun dried tomato wheat thins. Frigo has so cheese and beef stick snacks that I like and I LOVE these....
https://www.amazon.com/Hillshire-Snacking-Small-Plates-Salame/dp/B01MZZVZ0I
My daughter calls them my adult lunchables.
I have a question of the day request! 4/19: Tell me about your pet(s)! What are they? How did you get them? Something cute about them? Whatever you want!
Question of the day 4/19: Tell us about a current or favorite pet!
My dogs....my boys....my babies....
We have two giant German Shepherds, they are 9yo and 8yo. They are both over 100lbs, not just overweight they are just really big dogs. I'm only 5'1" and if they stand next me their backs are hip height to me. One is just like me, very laid back, lazy and a little grumpy....haha He's the biggest at 126lbs, he has dog lupus so he's on a lot of supplements and a steroid, which makes him gain weight. He is super picky with his food and he's my baby. We've had him since he was 3 months old and he does NOT know he's a dog. He has to sleep on the couch or chair or his dog bed....he will not just lay on the floor, like a common animal. He's afraid of the dark and will not go outside or even in another room if its dark(he's such a big baby...:lovestruc)
The other is just like my husband, he super hyper and very vocal. He's always moaning and groaning about something. My daughter says I'm always arguing with him.... He's 113lbs but super active so he's very muscular. He's obsessed with my husband, if my husband starts packing for a work trip, he gets so depressed....its so sad. He also gets jealous if my husband and I hug or kiss(even pretend to kiss....LOL) He'll try to get inbetween us....its so funny. He's super smart and LOVES balls, he has a ton and knows where they are at all times. If he's missing one, I'll tell him, go get your blue ball and he will go and find it....its crazy. We've had him since he was about a year old. Someone was trying to sell him for a crazy amount outside a local store. The guy told my husband he(the dog) was too weak, because he let his other dogs attack him. :sad2: My husband was so upset about it, he told the guy if nobody wanted him when he was ready to leave to call us and we would take him. About an hour later, the guy called. My hubby offered him a certain amount and the guy took it. He's been such a good boy ever since.

They are both getting older and we are soo attached to them, my husband says he doesn't think he could handle getting other dogs(animals) after these guys pass on....I just don't even want to think about that. It will definitely be a sad time...:sad1:

Add that to the list of things I have never had in my life. We have no Krispy Kremes around here, so I've never seen the hot sign or been able to try one. The other thing I have never tried is coffee, lol!
You're not missing much. LOL I mean, they're alright but I don't think they're the best donuts I've ever had.

Krispy Kreme's, to me, are only special when they are hot! I hope everyone has had a good Sunday. Today was brighter for me than yesterday. Still hard to believe exactly 5 weeks since I was last at church. We conclude each service by singing "Let There Be Peace on Earth." At the end of today's online service, there was singing of that song from March 15th. Could not see any congregants just hear the voices. I was there that morning it felt strange....a bit sad....but also humbling to be reminded that church really has not gone anywhere and extra reminder God is with me always.

Three Sunday positives things:

Being able to package up a few books to send to a friend next week.
Online Worship service. Senior pastor preached a sermon he had given mostly one before. Still a great message.
Thinking about DL fun hopefully next year. That trip will definitely mean so much extra!

My favorite pet will always be my dog Champ. In fact someone on these boards has their picture of a wire fox terrier that always makes me smile to remember Champ. Champ is now with my Grandparents in Heaven. Miss them all so much but know they are with each other and God. I got Champ as a 14th birthday gift from my Grandma :) One day, should I live in a larger place with some outdoor space, I'd love to adopt a dog in Champ's honor and memory. I've never cared for cats but am glad a lot of you seem to enjoy feline companionship. Thank you for caring for them, too.

And my latest baking were these stained glass Mickey cookies that I saw on Instagram.MJ
Love the Mickey cookies! I have set of Mickey cookie cutters on order. I'm thinking of making the Hilton cookie recipe next week after DH goes shopping again.

We currently have a medium sized mutt and 2 cats. We've been walking the dog lately but the last couple of days she's mopey and tired on the walks so we let her stay home today :P

We considered fostering a shelter dog at the start of social isolation when we thought it was just going to be a couple weeks, but I'm glad we didn't since it's been extended so long. IDK how all our animals would be getting along, and the kids would have pretty much adopted any foster dog by now.

Question of the day 4/19: Tell us about a current or favorite pet!

I've never really had a dog but would love one. We always worked so much and just didn't think be fair. So I live through other stories and pics!

We currently have 3 cats. In order of joining the family: MJ, Mittens, Tiana. We had Obi (Oberon) but he became attached to GS#2 when they lived with us (he would lay where ever GS would be sleeping), so he went with them to Cali. We had 4 cats before these; 2 of whom went over the Rainbow Bridge, and 2 who were feral rescues that escaped out the door at some point and never returned. We also had a family dog for 10 years, who went over the RB as well. :sad1:

MJ, my pure white 7 1/2 year old, is strictly mine. She hides when the girls come around, she tolerates DS petting her if..and only IF....I am not around to do it when she wants it, and she stays totally away from DH. She is my princess, and will bat her head against my chin/mouth until I kiss the top of her head. She likes to hunt Nerf darts, but if she finds one at night, she drops it in front of my closed bedroom door and does this baby sounding meow until I open it, pick up the dart, and praise her. She was a stray baby kitten when she was scooped up by the shelter, and DD#2 gave her to me for Christmas 2012. Her favorite toy is this ugly orange feather and ball on a spring thing, and she will toss it around until we catch her doing it, then she'll huff off and start grooming herself. She's a scaredy cat, and won't get on the counters or go onto the screened in balcony at all.

Mittens is purely DS's. We went to the shelter to get DS a dog, didn't find one that would work for our family, so we stopped in to look at the cats. Mittens (gray striped tabby, with..you know it, white mitten paws, about 9 years old) jumped into DS's arms, and it was love at first sight on both sides. If she wants loving, anyone will do, but she would rather it be DS; but she will lay on the couch with me or DH and demand her due. Prefers a specific wet food, but will eat as much of a cheeseburger or a rib that a person will share. Mittens would love to be out hunting birds or bugs; she took out a baby snake that made it into the house one night...ripped it's head completely off. She will tear up boxes (her favorite place to sit) and carpet if we don't watch her, and will chase a red dot or a feather chaser toy for hours. She will sit in the sun on the balcony all day if we let her.

Tiana is the baby; born at the shelter. We picked up her up with Obi at a pet adoption event, about 5 years ago. She's a grey stripe tabby, like Mittens, but she has one leg that is pure white, and white paws. She is very playful, and very loving. She does not like DH at all, she always wants love from DS and me, though. She will try to get MJ and Mittens to play with her, and sometimes they will tolerate it for a little while. She will chase anything..a red dot, a ball, a feather, and she loves cardboard scratching posts.

We ended up ordering our BBQ delivery today, and....meh. I think the food has gotten worse since the last time we were there. The smoked corn was inedible, the sausage texture wasn't very pleasant, and the greens had no flavor at all. And I ordered jalapeno corn bread, and they gave us "garlic Texas toast" which was actually white bread, toasted, with no garlic. >:( I've received 2 of the 7 puzzles I've ordered; one is definitely delayed; 2 are scheduled to be delivered this week, but we'll see; and who knows with the other 2. The ice cream maker and containers are supposed to be here this week, and the Dole Whip mix next week, so we'll see what's what then.

So jealous of the kitty pictures. :) No pets here because of family allergies. But we have a neighborhood cat that visits. He spends time on our porch at night for all the attention, and then goes home. LOL We come in, change clothes and wash up. We don't see him much now - his owner I'm sure would rather keep him home.

Favorite pet will always be the Simba in my signature picture. I had her from when she was 6 weeks old and fit in the palm of my hand, until she passed away in my arms at age 14. I have always had cats as pets, currently have 5 house cats, and several outdoor ones. I cannot stand to see a cat hungry, and the ones that pass thru here, must tell the others that a nice lady will feed them if they stop by, lol! I had a dog, once, about 35 years ago, lol. But she was a 'hole digger', and after almost breaking my ankle in one,she went to a nice family with a big farm, and plenty of land for her to dig hole wherever she wanted.

Grateful that granddaughter was able to eat a meal yesterday, and that her headache is much less severe than it was.
Grateful that the sun was shining, the winds died down and I was able to burn the brush pile in the garden so that I can till it and get it ready for planting
Grateful that another week has gone by, and noone I know has been diagnosed with the virus
Dinner was a delicious mortons marinated tri tip roast, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, and steamed broccoli. Had a double crust apple pie with ice cream on it for a snack last nite..it was yummy!

Belated Easter dinner, LOL.

A cup of Italian egg drop soup as starter.
Lamb rib chops with dukkah (seasoned crushed nuts) drizzled w/ pomegranate molasses and honey. Roasted acorn squash quarters, and broccoli as main course, followed by a green salad. The eggs I bought for Easter showed up as creme caramel for dessert.

Fifty years of life with my feathered monster baby ended last year. He was a birthday gift to my mother and came to live with me about 30 years ago when she went on one vacation too many; told her he was tired of living in the Bronx and craved the big city lights of Manhattan. Boy was he peeved when he found himself back in the Bronx again :lmao:.

Here he is atop his bird condo wondering when DGD will give him back his space:

So that is where my Walter goes at dusk..... :cat:

Wait until you get to season 40. Its the best! But skip 39 unless you want to feel dirty and sick.

We recently binged all of MOM up until the current season. It took less than 2 weeks for our DVR to patch together the first six season with reruns on various networks. Lots of laughs which were needed. This past week we were good about watching the DVR because I knew we had free HBO this weekend so I recorded a lot of movies. Last night we took a break from our DVR and did a couple of new comedy specials on Netflix then we decided to resurect our Supernatural binge that we started about 5 years ago. We are a couple of episodes into season 2 so maybe we will finish in the next 30 years! LOL I have started a naughty habit of dipping chex mix into pub cheese.
I started watched from season 1 and then stopped around season 5. Then started back up around 28. Back when I was watching 28 I went back and binge watched a few gem seasons. But I saw the awful 32 and 39 in all their glory when they aired. Unfortunately. Loving loving loving 40. Binge watched 6 on Sat and 11 yesterday. 11 was boring and had a couple awful guys like 32 did. And Danny's win was due to bitter jury. I liked season 6 but Jenna also didn't deserve her win. Thought Rob did but he was outlasted so all on him.

I have two cats- Walter and Tiger. We live the in the country so they have their own cat door and can come and go at that leisure. Hence, comment above. :) Tiger is 11 and Walter is 4. Both very loving cats but tolerate each other at best. My son is Walter’s human. He just loves him to pieces. You can always tell when it is time for my son to come home from school because Walter gets all “meowing” and just can’t wait for him to burst thru the door. Me - I am just good for giving him fresh water and food multiple times a day and am lucky to get even a purr - lol. Tiger is a complete hunter and brings us all kinds of surprises “gifts” on the porch. He is my loyal companion and follows me around the house during the day. ;)
Truly enjoying these posts!

We are on the "last" (famous last words!!) of our big dogs, the baby is our 2 year old great dane. He's 140 lbs of goofy, and he's addicted to lacrosse balls and anything plush. Our other pup is a 3 year old mixed large breed mutt, he's only about 100 lbs, and likes to sit on the porch and monitor the goings on of the woods & fields. I love a big dog - I grew up with mastiffs - but it's time we transition to smaller, more portable dogs that we can travel with in the next 10 years....so we think these will be the last of our big boys. I also volunteer for a rescue located in the northeast, and we are on our third bulldog foster! Not all of our dogs have been big, we've had two boxers that were wonderful pups, and another bulldog that was great.
We also have two ducks, both are butt heads, but they live on a pond in the woods. Chickens, but no livestock on our farm at the moment though. Although that is always subject to change.
