Good morning everyone. So many new posts to read through before commenting!

@Pea-n-Me--sorry you tested positive. Hope you recover from it quickly, take care of yourself!
@flyingdumbo127 --Mona we got a Sony blu ray dvd player that is bluetooth ready
@frog3101 --What others have said above is so right on. Like Snowysmom said,,I wonder what he would say/do if you wanted the kids on his weekend, you know that it wouldn't fly. He is being such a you know what!
@bobbiwoz --such pretty fall daisies!

Sunny and warm today, mid 70's today. High of 56 tomorrow. I may wait till then to mow anyhow, I like mowing in cooler weather. I guess this is the weekend to cover up the outside AC unit. Going to leave the screens up in the new doors for a couple of more weeks. They are self storing, so I don't have to do anything but roll the front door one up, and switch the bottom storm one in the back door to the top and put the screen at the bottom behind the other storm one. So glad that got done this year. We used to get terrible drafts through both doors all the time.

Have a nice morning all

Good Morning everyone.

Been a busy couple of days, as usual. The trip to get my aunt went nicely. My aunt treated us all to lunch and even though I just got a burger I was stuffed. Thankfully I had some leftovers in the fridge for Jim to have dinner. I wasn't hungry. I got to chat with my aunt for a bit in the car and should see her at least once more before she heads back to Florida. I love hearing her perspective of her childhood as it is so different than my dad's.

My dad had me questioning my whole childhood and love of the St. Louis Cardinals. When I was little, we would go see the Phillies play the Cards, never any other team. I loved the Cards because my dad did. Turns out the Cardinals WERE his favorite team until an incident with Stan Musial, one of my 3 all-time favorite players. When my dad was probably about 13 or 14 he went with a friend to see a game. The friend's father worked for the Phillies, so they got in for free. After the game they were hanging by the players gate so my dad could get Stan Musial's autograph. Evidently, he was really not nice and refused. Dad's friend said something about how much my dad idolized him. So, Musial took the ball and scribbled his name on it. Dad was so upset that not only did he not get a real autograph he ruined the ball that had other autographs on it. Of course who do the Phillies play on the opening round of the playoffs - the Cardinals. My grandson told me I am NOT allowed to root for them at all. I must root for the Phillies and if they lose then I must root for whoever plays them. I refused to agree to that. I told him if the Phillies lose I have to root for the Cards because of Albert Pujols. He gave in on that.

When my mom and I were waiting on my aunt the other day I was asking her about her grandmother's brother Louis. She wasn't sure he had one by the name Louis. It turns out I was right, his legal name was Louis Arthur, but he went by Arthur. I was checking a couple of facts on Ancestry, and someone posted a family tree that was all wrong. I contacted the person, and it turns out she is married to Louis Arthur's grandson. We have been in touch, and I am going to send them a corrected family tree with some help from my mom. Mom is also going to send me some pictures of my 2X great grandfather and his second wife to share with the newfound cousin. My 2X great grandmother died when my great grandmother was a baby and my 2X great grandfather remarried. What was really great is the cousin sent me a picture of Louis. Louis was severely wounded in WWI and had a leg amputated. He committed suicide in 1933 when his 2 children were toddlers, so they didn't have a real history of the family.

@Pea-n-Me - sorry you tested positive. Having just gotten over the virus it wasn't that bad, but I still have a bit of a cough.

@frog3101 - I agree with others about FH. My friend called her former husband DH and it didn't mean dear husband. She went through a nasty divorce and her ex went from being a doting father to not speaking to his kids, their daughter especially, again. He couldn't wait til his daughter turned 18. He was at the courthouse the second it opened to cut off his child support. I couldn't understand how a man that was such a devoted father could be like that. It's a shame that your FH can't put his own selfish needs aside to do what is best for the kids.

Oh well, I am on taxi service again today. I can't wait til my daughter gets the new battery in her car so I can relax. One week and she will have to figure it out as will the kids as I will be in Disney World.
@Snowysmom - I hope we are still on to meet. I am looking forward to it.

Have a good day.

Good morning.

Start of a fun-filled but tiring 36 hours.

Sarah and Justin came by about 8:30 this morning. Brought Paisley and left a car here. Also brought kids overnight things. S & J are going car shopping this morning then have a wedding to attend in Pasadena, MD, right on the bay. Spending the night down there then coming back for everyone/everything tomorrow. Jack and I have to get the kids from school and daycare and bring them here for the night. I already baked the brownies I promised to Tessa.

Tomorrow, after the kids get picked up, we have to go to church for altar guild and to set up communion for early church Sunday. Sunday, we have to get there early for Jack to usher and I can clean up communion, then after church, finish our altar guild chores.

Beautiful outside. Hope the kids play outside so they go to sleep tonight.

I just wanted to say thanks to all who have chimed in regarding FH's "new" name.
I am late to the party but I agree with the new name.
I am sorry to hear that. Hope it is a mild case.
Hello all!
:welcome: And you can come back in the day time too.
The goose came with us from Dayton
When my mother was in independent living in her retirement community, a woman down the hall from her had a goose that she dressed for every season and holiday, I enjoyed it and you brought back a good memory for me.

Better get to my To Do list.

We lived in Lower Makefield PA when our sons were growing up. Matt, the oldest, was a Phillies fan, and we bought him a Mike Schmidt rookie baseball card for his First Communion. Our younger son, Greg, loved the Bird teams, Cardinals, Blue Jays and Orioles! He got a Cal Ripken Jr Rookie card for his First Communion. Baltimore was the nearest of those teams, so that’s the one we went to sometimes.

We met Mick Schmidt when we moved to Dayton. That’s where he was from!

@TazDev I am still on to meet. Looking forward to it.

The plumber was here. It is a big job. It seems that when the guy down the hall told me other buildings were having issues with their pipes he did not tell me we were too! The plumber who came said he just left another condo in the complex who needs the same fix. It is expensive. Then he told me that their trucks are always here for fixes like this one. I told him I probably would not be living here long and will sell in the Spring. His words to me: Move, move now. It seems that the builder cut corners wherever they could and the heating and cooling systems are not standard and have issues. I will do the fix and then I am talking with Kenny's real estate agent when I get back from Disney. Even if I have to live with Kenny for a few months I will. By the time I talk with the agent and get things settled it will most likely be 2023 anyway so may as well start the process now. I have already started packing and have plans to bring some things to Kenny's tomorrow. I bought this place for all the wrong reasons and now I know why I had a gut feeling not to buy. I listened to everyone except my gut. I have learned a lesson. Some day life will be a bit more normal for me I hope. Right now I have to roll with the punches. Maybe I can punch back! So now I do not have hot water or heat. At least I have cold water. He gives me a definite for fixing on Tuesday but is trying to move things around so I can get it done either later today or Monday. I think he feels sorry for me. If I need to I can take a shower at Kenny's tomorrow and if it is cold I can bundle up or stay with Kenny. I do so need a break.

I feel for you Snowysmom. Plumbing issues are not fun. Fortunately I'm married to a plumber, so that is covered.

Both kids are home with me today. DD had professional development and then she and Lil Joe are off next week for Fall Break. Her ex was supposed to pick up the kids last night for the weekend but he texted her yesterday saying he had medical appointments that he had to go to and wouldn't be coming in. When DD told them that their dad wasn't coming after all, the kids said "okay" and went their merry way.

So, today has been busy so far. Interacting with the kids, playing several high active rounds of Hide and Seek in the house, working in the office, doing a load of laundry, cleaning the kitchen twice so far. Just finished vacuuming and cleaning our bathroom. The kids are back in their rooms watching YouTubeKids on their electronics for a little while. I've got another load of laundry to do and more work in the office to do. Third quarter reports to get done and send to the accountant soon. A ride on the golf cart around our neighbors property looks to be in my future this afternoon. The kids love to check on their chickens.

Trying my hand at a new recipe for White Chicken Chili for dinner.

@Snowysmom --sorry to hear about your plumbing issues. I hope you can find a condo you like better , sooner rather than later, if you plan on moving before winter

I have been busy,,it's gorgeous outside..73, sunny, breezy. Lawn is mowed and weedwacked,,didn't use the leafblower to clear any of the sidewalks or drives, since the wind is blowing leaves all around anyhow. Mowers are cleaned and put away. I got the blu ray hooked up with no issues..then even managed to get the old dvd player hooked up to the tv in the bedroom. It will work until I move the old larger tv in there. I have to take down the corner shelf that Don (Mr L), put up when we got the 24" tv for in there a few years ago. He sleeps in his recliner, so I may as well use the larger tv and make it easier on my eyes. And now I can watch my dvd's of Hawaii 5-O without driving him crazy, lol. I already told him I am buying myself a new, smaller dvd player for Christmas, lol

Stepdaughter is still getting no answers to her medical problems. She had an appt with the nephrologist the other day, who told her she has to see 2 other Drs before they will see her. Then what was the point in making her drive to Morgantown for that visit? She has been waiting for an appt with the urologist for weeks. Today she found out that noone bothered to schedule the appt. It's now scheduled for Nov 9 I think she said. She's having trouble with both of her cars again, and has to drive to Pittsburg every Fri nite to pick up her husband,,and take him back on Sundays. The car broke down last weekend and left her stranded in PA. She had one of the cars at a mechanic yesterday who told her that her brakes shaking is normal--ummm..no it's not. And that car needs inner and outer tie rod ends, is shaking and something smells like it's burning..geezThe other car needs a new axle and something else.
Insurance agent called today..Medicare enrollment starts in a week or so, and she wanted to make sure we were happy with what we have or want to switch. We are we don't want to change anything,,that makes it easy. And 2 of Don's meds will be lower cost next year. We paid $125 every 3 months for one of them, and next year it will be $201 for the whole year

Have a nice afternoon,,I am off to relax--I also gave the front door trim another coat of paint,,so my to do list is getting shorter, finally!

I hope to be able to talk with the real estate agent once I get back from Disney. Once that is done I can make a plan. The plumber said once the pipes are done the system should be good for awhile. I just don't want to have to replace the whole system shortly down the road. It is definitely an odd unit and is only 7 years old.

Good afternoon at last, friends!

I started writing this message hours ago and never quite managed to finish it to post until now. Busier morning but all is well, thanks to God, always! Dad did his usual Friday morning laundry and Ralph's. He said a favorite container of soup of his that he gets all the time has gone up by $1.50. He will look at Pavilions on Sunday to see whether their brand of soup is any cheaper. FYI reminder to always check product expiration dates! Dad was buying us a new twin pack of Kraft Singles because the twin pack is a much better deal than the individual packs. The first package he had grabbed expired in September! He did alert a Ralph's worker and chose a new package with a nest buy February 2023 expiration date! Much better!

Dad's bowl came earlier. HUGE disappointment because the thing weighs a TON. Also, the shape of it is so odd. I had expected it to be a larger, lightweight version of the small bowl I had originally gotten from this same company. Instead, this bowl is not all that deep (for cereal which is why I wanted it) and just plain heavy! I just sent YouCustomizeIt an email letting them know I want a full refund. Definitely want my $25 back which for me represents a lot of money. I shall keep all of you posted.

Oh Frog :grouphug: your post is just heartbreaking. No words other than how truly sorry I am for all of you, especially, as you know, your precious kids. Thank you forever for continuing to be a steadfast and faithful kind and loving mom to them no matter what. YOU are such a blessing to them. PLEASE remember to take care of yourself and let others care for you, too! PLEASE seek out support for all of you and continue to do all you can to end the cycle your Ex is so bent on keeping all of you in. Not healthy for any of you as I know you know :(

Feel better, dear Pea! Please take care!

Children should only know unconditional ❤️always. By all. Thank you with all my heart, always, dear Kirby, for being an example of that for your grandkids.

:wave2: back to you, DisneyMom Michelle and welcome! Please join us again!
Judique, your wise and kind post is so right on! :thanks:🌸

🙏Snowysmom and how terrible of the owners. I am so sorry. Huge prayers for a move for you indeed sooner than later and a new place that sincerely brings you joy and peace! :mickeyjumHooray and that you and Taz are on to meet!

Please do get some rest, Footballmouse! Glad you were able to get your haircut and a dinner treat, although your dinner sounds like it may have been lacking. I’m sorry to hear that. LOL to the antics of Chili the 🐈 though. Have fun on Sunday at the baby shower.

Love your goose share, Bobbiwoz! That’s neat that it has traveled with you and Tom over the years. Very pretty daisies! Go Phillies ⚾

Thanks for the DVD player info, Lynn. How’s your new 📺? Mid 70’s sounds so lovely! Enjoy, my friend. Continuing prayers for your stepdaughter. Praise God! That is fantastic news on the lower cost of Don's meds, yay!

Big :hug:Taz and so glad you have your aunt! I’m sorry about your dad’s childhood experience that stinks. Yikes that is quite a story about Louis :( Hooray though that soon you will be at WDW and get to meet Snowysmom as well! Wish I could join you both.

 Carol and thank you always for all you do for your church and the loving care you give both your grandkids and grand dog! Save me a brownie, please!

Wishing all of you a good rest of the afternoon!

:welcome: And you can come back in the day time too.
Thank you!
Good Afternoon all, just got home from running errands and now putting together fun Halloween package to 'BOO' and 'BOOze' the campground, I try and do 5-8 a week at the end of September until mid October where we have our RV.

Anyone have exciting plans for the weekend?
I have 3 teenagers and a husband and our campground does a huge Booze-or-Treat on Saturdays and I will be making Sangria for that and getting snacks ready for my kids to take with them as they head out for tailgating with friends on their trucks and my husband works overnights, so he is sleeping before dinner and everyone heads out.
Happy Friday!

The sun is finally shining again here too! :goodvibes I'm so glad, as I do not do well with grey and cloudy.

I watched the twins for the first time in ages yesterday, and it was good to see them. :Pinkbounc:jumping3: They are both enjoying second grade. The little girl is all about learning to cook lately, so we made crepes for snack. Definitely yummy!

And my mums seem to be doing well:

Your flowers are stunning! Perfect for Autumn!
Anyway, I hope everyone else is doing well. I will try to read and respond more over the weekend.
I am so sorry that you are going through this, your son sounds very mature and he is handling it well, it's nice to see that you are trying to work with patience. Stuff like that effects kids when they become adults and my husband went through something similar when he was only 7 and now he is such a kind and gentle person but he is always afraid of hurting anyone's feelings and let's people walk all over him so that he doesn't displease too many people. He's been working on it, because he doesn't want his kids to model that behavior but he is realizing how it all began.
Oh no! Feel better soon!!!

So good to see you again, DisneyMommyMichelle, thank you for all your kind words and shares with us, too. I am so sorry your husband went through a turbulent childhood. I know from my own experience as a young child how very hard that is. I absolutely keep extra in prayer that all children only know love!

Dad went quickly to the library to return a book and pick up some CD's. Waiting for mail to come. Otherwise, all is quiet around here. AuntieMe3 and Pea, prayers you both are feeling better all-around this afternoon!:grouphug:

Good Evening, friends.

Slipping thread save! I am looking at YouCustomizeIt's website now. I would appreciate hearing what all of you think :)

Kid's Bowl that I originally got that is adorable but teeny! This will be an ice cream bowl for dad. Bowl I got Today that is so heavy. Do all you friends that this bowl would be much more like what I had in mind. Looking for something a little bigger than the kid's bowl. Similar size, shape, and definitely weight! I did send the company an initial email. After looking more carefully that the site now. I can send a follow up over the weekend with your kind input. :thanks:

Sweet dreams🌠with ❤️

I've found you have to be very careful when ordering things online to check the specifications (usually by scrolling a ways down below the pictures) And that it's a good idea to measure them out on scrap paper so you can really see what you're getting. This is for the new bowl you linked:

00A75A66-4119-4151-9F7F-65EE3731BC15.jpeg

but I checked for the ones you already bought as well. The big one is definitely big! This one says it holds the same amount as the little one, but it also looks like there is a 12oz. size with more of a rim?

Good chilly morning. 41 outside now, and only going to 56--brrr. Down to almost freezing tonite, guess it's time to close up the AC.

Today is strip bed, remake day (already done, others in washer now), dust and vacuum living room, dining room, and master bedroom. I did the windows and mirrors in the master bedroom yesterday. I don't plan on doing much else .
I am tired. I went to bed at 9, listened to music on my phone till about 11, and then tossed and turned trying to find a position my back didn't hurt in till almost 4:30. Woke up at 7:00 with one of the cats sitting on me and meowing for breakfast. I will be taking a nap while Don (Mr L ) watches college football. He can't wait to see how a game looks on the bigger screen. ( I find it too big, but we bought it, so we have to live with it).

Have a nice morning everyone.

Thinking of everyone who is not feeling well and hope you feel better soon.

@lynxstch Your morning picture is making me look forward to my Disney trip next week. In one week I will have just landed in Orlando with 6 kids and 3 other adults. I hope you can get some rest today.

@flyingdumbo127 PollyannaMom is right. Look at and measure the dimensions of the bowl you like. I like the looks of the bowl you are looking at.

Second day without heat and hot water here. I am grateful to have cold water. I took a very quick cold shower. Both kids have offered to have me come over even to just take a hot shower but also to stay. I would prefer to stay here if I can. It is 73 in my condo right now. I am on the top floor, don't have alot of windows, have the heavy curtains and shades closed over the windows later in the day. The hallway is very warm so I am thinking some heat is getting in from there. Plus I have 2 condos on either side of me so maybe I can "borrow" some heat from them through the walls. I need to be here Monday in case they can fit me into their schedule if someone cancels. I am so aggravated that I moved here but the good news is I can correct it. I am just not going to be in a big rush and make any more mistakes. Even if I listed in early Nov it would not be finalized until 2023. I am going to talk with the real estate agent after the trip to get her perspective on the market and the timing of selling and buying. According to Kenny she is very good and has been in the business for decades. I am talking with Kenny today about things including moving to get his perspective. I have asked Jeff to talk sometime when he is free. It is time to get everything out there so they know how I feel since Chris passed, how they feel about losing Dad, and what they think is the best move for me considering how I feel. We have talked here and there but really nothing substantial so it is time.

Have a good Saturday.

Morning all!

Andi (DD#2) is on her way to the airport, to go on vacation with her gal pals; they are going to South Korea. She is a big BTS fan, and there is a concert that she won tickets for there. Not somewhere I want to go, but she is excited. Alex (DS) turned 19, and I sent him some money in his bank account. He hasn't said anything back, but I am assuming he got it, as he venmo'd it out.

-----------------------------------------------------
Last night, Lance (DH) and I went to dinner at The Melting Pot. It was good, as usual, but I did get a bit frustrated. I wanted a specific drink before dinner, but they were out of the liquor, so I had to get something else (and it wasn't an unusual liquor, just a brand name vodka, and they wouldn't substitute in any other brands, according to our server). Then we asked to add on the cream puffs, when we ordered (all at the beginning), and the server came back, mid-salad course, saying they haven't had them for four months from their supplier (and were buying them from Walmart, of all places) and no one had bought any for the week, so sadly, no cream puffs to dip. AND THEN, I wanted a different drink after dinner (a cold brew coffee martini, new on the menu) but then the server comes back as we starting our dessert course, and says they don't have the beer for it (and there is no beer in it, so IDK what she was saying...were they out of the ice cream? the cold brew vodka? IDK). Things that she should have been told were 86'd before shift; at least, that is what every other restaurant I've ever worked in has done. >:(

Before we left, I went to the restroom (which really needed cleaning, and not just from that day...there was dust and dirt on the walls and on the ledges of the TP and seat cover holders; the lid of the seat was closed, and you could see the build up of dirt and stuff around the connectors..it was gross). The floor was wet in spots, no wet floor sign; and as I was going out the door, my dress sandal slipped on a puddle and my back foot shot out from under me. I ended up landing on my hands and knees partly in the little hallway and partly in the bathroom, and got hit in my bad hip by the door (and it's a heavy door). No one saw me fall, so Ijust walked outside to Lance. This morning, I have bruised, swollen, and scraped knees with shooting pains; nasty bruise on my hip, and it hurts; sore ankles; and sore and swollen wrists, that hurt so much when I move, I had Lance wrap them with ACE bandages to help support them. Any kind of weight on the wrists and they hurt, and have ever since I fractured them and my hands in the car accident when Alex (DS) was about 2 (so about 17 years ago). I didn't stop to talk to the GM last night; but I am sending an email to the owner's email today to let them know how disappointed we are. The owner is a good guy (we've known him for 13ish years, through scouting; I ended up with his son in my summer daycamps for 5 years running, either as a camper or as a volunteer), and he needs to know just that the GM just isn't following up on things.

We were going to stop in Ikea and the big liquor store across the street from TMP after dinner (Ikea to pick up some grocery items to try, and the liquor store for some things like the new apple pie and pumpkin spice Baileys) but my knees and hip were hurting too much. We don't get over to that side of town very often (it's past Mayo for us, and that's almost a 45 min-hour drive), so I'll have to wait until next time to hit up Ikea; the liquor store will deliver, so that's not an issue, or we can hit one closer to us if they have what I'm looking for. So I guess TMP saved me lots of money last night, both there and from my shopping. :rotfl2:

Anyways, today I am doing 4 loads of laundry (our loads are really half loads, but things have to be separated, so...). I think I'm just doing quesadillas or canned chili for lunch, and frozen fried fish and fries for dinner (or vice versa); I am really hurting and I don't feel like dealing with cooking. DH will do the dishes, he said, and he can cook if he wants something else.

I think I'm going to go soak in a hot tub, then ice pack my war wounds. will check back later and leave some comments on y'alls posts...this one is too long as it is, lol

ETA: I forgot to say...the table we were at is one of the secluded two tops, which was great..but there was no light working there! We only had the light from the hall area just outside the secluded part. No room for a candle, either, it was such a small table; had to use the phone flashlight to read the menu. And the little secluded part had a weird...musty smell. sad

@Bianca and Bernard --I hope the owner of that restaurant contacts you. There is no excuse for the server not telling you these things earlier, and certainly no excuse for a dirty bathroom (I would be contacting the health department if you get nowhere with the owner). Hope you rest today and that your knees and hip feel better!

Starting to cloud over here, but no rain called for. I took down all my herb boxes, replanted the catnip, chives, and oregano out back in one of the compost piles, and covered them for the winter. They are the only 3 that come back every spring. Moved a few things in the shed, threw out more stuff. Did dishes, and made Don (Mr L) his breakfast..he just got up about 30 minutes ago. I am going to soak in a hot tub , do my hair, maybe put a hair mask and facial mask on, and just relax the rest of the day. Dinner tonite is going to be homemade garlic naan pizza with pepperoni, italian sausage and cheese, and a salad on the side. I got some frozen mixed berry strudel at Aldi's this week, and may cook them up for our snack tonite

Have a good one

:thanks::hug:extra PollyannaMim and Snowysmom! I appreciate so much your kind bowl words, and time spent looking into it more for me. I am attaching a picture of my original small bowl along with the huge bowl I received yesterday. For me, it is often easier to see a real product in order to have a true idea. Great suggestion though PollyannaMom about scrap paper! I will do that in the future. besides being so very heavy, I prefer (again for granola cereal with berries which is what dad would use it for) the shape of the small bowl to that of the new one. I had thought the new one would simply be a bigger version of the small one. As you can see, it's not. The smaller bowl is definitely deeper! Do you all think the other bowl for $21 or so is closer to a bigger version of the small bowl? I will be calling the company on Monday. Would (always0 appreciate all of your opinions :grouphug:

:hug:Lynn, after doing all that, I'd be exhausted! Please do watch some fun TV this morning, my friend 🌸

:grouphug:Snowysmom, one step at a time. I feel through your words a new lightness of hope for which I am so very grateful! God is with you, dear friend and so are all of us!

How awful, B&B! ITA with Lynn! Huge 🙏all-around with love!

I'll check back in later. Wishing all a lovely day!
