Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Prayers you are taking a nap Lynn!

Thank you, Carol for the recommendation. I am pretty sure we do get UpTv. I used to watch TBAA on it. Now TBAA is on MeTv. I will check it out and let you know. I really enjoyed the story the pastor shared in yesterday's worship. Great message!

Waiting on mail from today and Saturday. Hopefully the ponies come today!

Afternoon all.

Well, we lost power for about 45 minutes midway through cooking my pork, lol. Glad the crockpot stayed nice and hot, and kept cooking the meat; I made carnitas tacos with them, with some red onion and cilantro, on thin corn tortillas and they came out great! We had pizza for lunch (I forgot why I rank Dominos on the bottom of the pizza roll call, and yesterday reminded me of that; I got their 'brooklyn style' pizza, and the dough was pretty much raw...how it can be so thin and yet raw, I don't know). Tonight is leftover night; there's Chinese, some pizza, and carnitas left.

Woke up with a wicked headache and stuffed sinsuses; tested negative, and hopped back onto my Zrytec (I haven't been taking it the last few weeks). Think I didn't drink enough water the last couple of days. Will test again on Wednesday, and then Friday morning, just to make sure. I'm almost out of free tests, lol; I'm taking 4 to Belize with us, to test with before we come back home or if we feel we need to.

DH is going to get DS's phone tonight on the way home from work, and save me a trip. He's having them put screen protector on it, if it's reasonable; otherwise, we'll do it ourselves. I repacked our luggage (didn't I say I would have to??? :rotfl2: ) DH added MORE stuff to take...although it's things that are always good to have, like some duct tape, paracord, extra flashlight and batteries, etc. So I redistributed stuff, and now have one suitcase at 46ish lbs, and the other at 42ish; plus 2 carry on bags and 2 personal bags (laptop bag for me and a small backpack for DH).

I also mowed/weedwacked the backyard, and part of the swamp 'wayback' (behind the backyard fence, going down to the retention pond. If it doesn't rain tonight, I'll work on the 'wayback' some more tomorrow. I ahd to move all the gutters from all over the backyard, onto the cement pads on both sides of the house; when they did the roof, they took the gutters off, but didn't replace them. /sigh Let the landlord know, and if they get fixed, they get fixed. I kept having to stop and pick up pieces of metal, clips, etc from around the yard while I was mowing.

Tomorrow is the wayback and my Tuesday general house cleaning. Then I can take Wednesday off, except for a couple loads of laundry, or maybe I'll mow the front, if the weather holds. Thursday, I have to run to the store to get DS milk, bread, buns, some fresh fruit and veggies for while we're gone; mow the front yard if I skip Wed; wash our bedding (so we come back to clean bedding) and touch up the house, before we leave.

Meals planned for this week: tomorrow, pork stirfry; Wednesday, breaded chicken and salad; Thursday lunch, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and roasted broccoli for DH and I, corn for DS...that way DS will have leftovers for a couple of meals on Fri/Sat, and we get a good meal in that day.

Think I'm going to take some more tylenol and go soak in a hot tub with some epsom salts. Have a good night, all!

Good evening all.

I can't believe my Crystal is 18! Today is her birthday and I still remember the day she was born as if it were yesterday. She was the image of my daughter when she was born. She has grown into such a beautiful young lady with the biggest heart and kindest soul. We went to Lancaster to celebrate, and she brought two friends with us. It was so nice to hear them laughing and having fun. She has been bullied so much over the years that she didn't trust people enough to have friends. These 3 girls are so nice together and as the friends are as quirky as she is. I couldn't ask for a better present for her than the gift of good friends.

I need to call the school tomorrow for Ella. She needs her classroom changed because of someone in the class. They were best friends until about 2 years ago and the friend has turned on her. Ella is a Straight A student and she is hoping to get into one of the elite High Schools in Philly. She doesn't want any distractions and I don't want her to deal with it. I'm hoping we can get her switched but not sure the school will co-operate. It's hard to believe they head back to school in just a couple weeks. Where has the summer gone? We are hoping to get one more trip down to the shore in before they head back.

Thanks everyone for the comments on the trip and the bathroom. I am very happy with the way it turned out. I just have one more shelf to go and am hoping for some inspiration when we actually go down the shore. I seem to always get inspired there.

Hope you all have a nice night.

Just finished salmon, French fries, and tomatoes for dinner. It was cool enough to use the office.

Tonight is America Ninja Warrior. Not sure why I like that show, but I do.

. Tonight is leftover night; there's Chinese, some pizza, and carnitas left.
We always called that Carol’s Smorgasbord.

Still no mail here yet. Maybe later, although it is now 5.

:grouphug: B&B and much prayers for you and your DH to remain healthy! Yuck to raw pizza dough. I'm glad to hear the power outage didn't seem to impact your crockpot.

God Bless, Crystal, Taz, she sounds like a lovely young lady! Prayers she has enjoyed a very :bday:

Enjoy your show📺 Carol! Sometimes a fun show is just what we need! A Carol smorgasbord sounds like fun.

Thinking of you, PollyannaMom. 🙏:car:

Have a good evening, friends.

Hello fellow Quackers.
It's been a really rough day. Kids left this AM for their week with their dad. My oldest refused to get in the car with him. He was ticked, she was crying, it was a mess. Then he was on my case about some bank stuff and then finally told her she could do what she wanted, he didn't care. So, she said she wasn't going. Well, that didn't fly with my attorney. So I spent 5 hours (my sister came over to try and help too) pleading with my daughter and trying to explain why she needed to go and that if she didn't we all could get in trouble and the order could be changed for them to have to spend more time with them. She was a disaster, hyperventilating and in tears. I was in tears, it was one of the worst things as a parent I have had to do. I'm so annoyed that I follow all the rules and my kids are still suffering. Yet, he lies in 2 sworn affidavits, is the one that has moved in the girlfriend and now her son is there...at least for this week or a few days, swears and degrades my kid(s) and nothing can seem to touch him. I keep praying that in the end following all the rules and such will pay off, but I am losing my mind. My oldest has texted me all evening begging me to come and get her, that he's been cussing at her and telling her about the bank stuff he was mad at me about.
@Snowysmom I can empathize with how you are feeling about being given too much. I just have to keep praying and finding things to be thankful for, even if they are tiny.
I'm not sure how much I'll be around this week. I need to keep myself busy and hopefully out of my house.
Prayers for all who are still in the "ick".

@Snowysmom :hug:

@Pea-n-Me While getting the house ready last year for my mom's celebration of life, we cleared out a lot so almost all our cabinets and closets are in good shape, I even started getting bins for the smaller things in the cabinets. We took a lot to the dump too, so much trash we just had lying around(empty boxes...etc). I think most of the excess stuff in our room now just probably needs to go too but I'm just having a hard time letting it go. LOL As I was going through stuff I was like "well I'll keep it just in case" even though its been in there over a year and who knows how long its been since it was used before that.

Carol and B&B...I'm so jealous of both of your trips. LOL So fun, wish i was getting ready to go somewhere. :)

Mona, hope your dads appointment goes well with the new dentist. Reminds me I need to find ANOTHER new one because the one I just started seeing last year just left the office right before my last cleaning. Annoying.

@frog3101 I'm so sorry. :hug:

I'm tired tonight....slept terrible again last night and was up early when DD was getting ready for work. I left not long after to get some bloodwork done before heading to my sisters to pick up my niece. Left the Drs off about 9am and didn't get home until 4. It was about @ 1/2 hours there. Visited for longer than I planned so we hit traffic on the way home, so 3 hours back. Luckily, my niece didn't have to go to the bathroom a million times like she usually does on the drive. LOL

Tomorrow we need to go to the store and then tomorrow night us girls(DD, niece and me) are going to the drive in to see the Super Pets and Minions. Not sure my niece will make it through both movies but she can fall asleep in the car if she gets too tired while DD watch.

thinking of you all...:grouphug:

@frog3101 I wonder if you could’ve taken your DD to a pediatric or other ER at that time where she was hyperventilating and having a rough go. It seems she needs to feel like she’s being cared for, right? And then it could also be on record that that happened. I know your attorney didn’t like what happened but having an objective opinion from a physician about the state your daughter was in from that couldn’t hurt, could it? But more so, sounds like she needed care, too. Such a difficult situation.

@frog3101 :grouphug: So sorry. I am so sad the your XH does not even consider the kids' feelings. My heart goes out to you and your kids especially your older DD. You did the right thing even though it was hard. Pea-n-me has a good idea about going to the doctor when you DD hyperventilates. I also hope she is seeing a therapist. Life gets tough when you feel like you are given more than you can handle. I will say it seems like you are strong, determined, and protective. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. I always say I am a mama bear. It sounds like you are one.

It is another cool morning which is nice. Off to work. It does help keep me busy which I sorely need.

Have a good day.

Hi all :wave2:

Getting in a quick catch-up in this morning. Huge  @frog3101 and @Snowysmom . Good thinking, @lynxstch, about the baggies on the door handles!

We have been having a good mix of fun and helping out here. Will try to edit this later on my phone to include a couple of scenery pics. (I'm on the iPad right now.)

Good morning..another gorgeous one outside. High temp will be 78 or so. Going to call handyman if I don't hear from his shortly. He is running out of time before his surgery to finish stuff. Have to go walk through the garden and pick more tomatoes that can be added to the giant bowl on the counter. Trying to eat a couple every day, plus the ones I give away, yet still can't keep up with them.

@frog3101 I am beyond angry at your ex for putting your daughter (and you ) through that yesterday. He claims to love the kids, yet he can't see what is plainly in front of the nose on his face, when she fights that hard for that long, not wanting to go. Get an explanation from your attorney as to why she was 'having none of it'. If he caved and told her she didn't have to go, why did your attorney want you to keep forcing the situation until she so unhappy went? :( :grouphug:

Off to make grocery list and pass the vacuum.

Have a nice morning all

Good Tuesday morning! :sunny:

Nice and cool this morning. It's supposed to be 80-82 degrees all week until Friday. I turned the air off Sunday and just have fans going in a couple of the rooms and the windows opened. OMG I was so hot last night while sleeping, kept tossing and turning, don't think this will be a good day at work, I'm sure I'll be dragging by 11:00.:crazy2:

Ds1 & DIL asked all of us to come down to their new house last night. I had a feeling they were going to tell us what the baby's gender is. Sure enough, they're having a GIRL 🎀. Deep down I knew it was going to be a girl just by the way my nephews are having kids. There are 4 girls in my family, we all had boys and now those boys are having girls for their first baby. This is going to be a new adventure for sure, I'm so used to having little boys around, a girl will be new territory. princess:

Took the dogs for a walk yesterday around lunchtime. Boomer still needs some practice on walking better, he's making progress at least 🐶. Carly is doing really well, need to get those old legs moving for her :dog:.

I feel asleep on the couch yesterday for about an hour and holy moly, my neck was so sore 😫. I hate when that happens. I can handle 10-15 minute naps but an hour was way too long.

That's about it. Working in the office today, so I need to look busy all day. Have a great day! :goofy:

:grouphug:Frog, and I will PM you. What a horrible situation and one that I can sadly relate to. Prayers and love.

Thanks so much, AuntieMe3. When I got out before the pandemic, I also had to be sure a restroom would be available on errands or longer drives. Prayers your bloodwork went smoothly and for good results:hug:

That is a wonderful idea, Pea . I have to admit, God forgive me, for thinking not completely kind attorney thoughts right now. A child should always come first. And in this instance, it sounded like a child's health and well-being both were being hurt. This is also where some CASA type agency might be handy.

🌸 for a peaceful day, Snowysmom and always a hug and loving prayer🙏.

 PollyannaMom, thank you for stopping in, good to see you:grouphug:Hooray that you are having fun.

I am so glad the weather 🌞has cooled down for you, Lynn! Handyman prayers that he does his job and you just have a good day.

:cheer2:Congratulations to your son and DIL, Footballmouse! And :hug:to you soon-to-be new Grandma!

🙏always to you and your family, Kirby!

We got a ton of ✉️ later last night! The only thing missing was a voting card for dad asking about preferred language or any changes we wanted to make. I got mine. Dad did not get his. But since it is not important that's okay. Reminder to all that Target Circle $10 off $50 expires on August 26th. Dad is off doing Tuesday :laundy: Quiet around here. Have a good day friends. I'll check in later.

Good afternoon.

Sitting at the desk at church for 4 hours today. Have to entertain myself. Thankfully very quiet as I don’t want any COVID exposure. Wearing a mask and behind a plexiglass wall.

I woke up with such a headache. Took Advil and had a cup of tea but not helping much. Think it’s sinus. I’ll survive. Did check my BP and it was fine.

Only 2 more sleeps and we’ll be getting on the train.

It's been a really rough day
Oh Frog, I am so sad that you and your kids are going through all of this.
Off to make grocery list and pass the vacuum.
Just don’t pass the vacuum to me. (That is me trying to make a joke. 😄)
they're having a GIRL 🎀.
Congratulations to all!

Hello everyone, Our trip to visit family was very nice, even though DH was not feeling the best. Grands just keep growing😍

Yesterday was spent working on my sister’s estate. Today I need to mow grass, it has been so wet out in the mornings,a sure sign of Fall.

Frog… I feel so badly that you are going through such a mess right now. It will get better as time goes by. Hugs for your daughter and you.

Snowysmom… Hugs to you also, I know it doesn’t feel like it, but this stuff takes a lot of strength, and you are a strong, devoted woman. Go easy on yourself, none of this is easy.

Dazedx3 Glad you had a good time visiting the grandkids. They have a habit of growing alot.

Carol I hope you have a great trip. I hope your headache goes away soon.

I did get a Tusker House reservation for our trip in Oct. It was the day and time I wanted. They had to do 2 reservations for the same time but the agent linked them for me. She was so good. I did the survey after the call and gave her the top scores for all. I am so glad this went well and thanked God and everyone else including Chris for the help. I was on hold for almost an hour but worth it.

Work was a challenge today. My work laptop is about 4 years old and has been a work horse. At older DS's house I was having issues logging in and with losing the wifi connection. However, my personal laptop worked fine, DS's did too so silly me, I am thinking it is the work laptop. Then I was at the office one day and had to manually connect the laptop to the wifi. Never had to do that before. Today I could not get on because of losing the wifi connection off and on but my personal laptop and TV are fine. The IT guy was skeptical that it was the laptop. He wanted me to shutdown my wifi and start it again. Well, I am not tech savvy and whatever I did, it would not go back on. I kind of got a bit snippy with the guy and told him that I have to call Verizon now and I will call him back. I kept trying stuff until I got it back. I know it is my work laptop as everything else is fine. Then my laptop decided to work but this is the pattern with it. It goes off and on like this. So I emailed the IT guy and told him. I also apologized for being a bit snippy. I explained that my kids are my personal IT team and I get anxious with anything technical. Then I told my DSs that they need to show me how to turn off and turn on my wifi. I could do it easily at the house as Chris showed me how. Plus we had a different kind of router at the house with Comcast so this new Verizon one is not intuitive to me. Now the kids need to show me how to shut it off and turn it back on. I am hopeless. I will say I am getting a bit weary of things happening. Even this issue just about sent me over the edge. I need a period of peace and no major issues. Don't see that coming down the road any time soon unfortunately.

Have a good rest of the day.

Sunny, breezy and 80 outside. Called the handyman this morning..he will be over after supper to put the back storm door on. Over the next few days he will get the front ones off and replace them. He's also going to measure for the gutters, and call the gutter pumper out guy, no idea what they are technically called. All I know is they bring a truck to your house, wait for the installing person to tell him how long, and just make them right then and there.
Dinner is going to be country fried steak, mashed potatoes, and squash/zucchini

Have a nice afternoon all

@Snowysmom prayers for the guidance you asked for. :grouphug:

75 and breezy here. We opened windows and that feels good for the change.

My back pain is still quite strong. I am coping the best I can. I am staying with the chiropractor who feels I hurt ribs coughing so hard with Covid, and perhaps strained something when weeding. My health care provider basically said it takes awhile. I feel the same as yesterday, but yesterday was much better than the day before. It’s definitely not a straight line healing.
