Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning all. We finally got some rain overnite, not enough to really soak things, but at least it was something. Still sprinkling but they say it's going to clear shortly and we will be 84 or higher. Back to 90 tomorrow..cooler and rain on Saturday, then heat comes back. I think I am going to go out and give all the tomato plants some miracle grow while the ground is still wet so it can soak in.
Today is dusting and vacuuming day, and possibly swiffering the kitchen floor. I still feel like I have a touch of the cold. Was in bed by 9, asleep by 10 and woke at 4. Woke to 1 of the cats just sitting on me purring her head off trying to wake me up. Sometimes they are just too smart!
@Bianca and Bernard sounds like you and Mr L are having the same thoughts about baking. He wants me to make a lemon pound cake to have with our fresh blueberries. I would rather make brownies, lol! Yikes to your heat..don't overdo the cleaning while it's that warm!

Have a nice day all, stay cool if you are in the hot zones

Good morning all -

We had rain most of the night, and evidently some wind as a few chairs had moved around the porch! Well - that or some ghosts were having a get together out there, and didn't put the chairs back!
Still gloomy and damp outside.
I'm on the road this afternoon, with a meeting down south. I need to get prepared for that.

Good morning.

Also yesterday while Carter napped. Tessa and I made banana bread. I made 3 small loaves instead of one large one. She had mentioned before that her preschool teacher loved banana bread so I helped her make a card and wrapped a loaf and put it in a gift bag she picked out of our collection. Hopefully it gets delivered by her dad today.

I have lots of blueberries now, even though I sent some home with the kids. Baking a blueberry cake may happen soon.

Our rain was more like @easyas123 's. It really rained about 5:30 this morning.

I just Googled Blippi, Carol, that is new to me. Sounds like an education and entertaining kid show
Where he visited was interesting. Tessa wanted to see fish so we had an aquarium episode. I personally find Blippi himself a little irritating.

I have a doctor's appt near the mall so DH is riding with me and waiting outside. Then we'll go to the mall so he can get a new phone before WDW. His is getting old so may not support all the apps and he wants time to figure out how to use it.

How about a new Question of the Day. For our new friends, this is just a conversation started and anyone can post one, QOTD : do you like to do jigsaw puzzles?

I liked and did them occasionally but during the pandemic became addicted and had one going all the time. I have slowed down some now that life is a little more normal but still enjoy. I am currently working on a particularly hard one we got in WV while on vacation in May.

:) on your cats second walk, PollyannaMom, I so enjoy your early morning kitty antics shares. thank you, my friend. Very grateful to hear your son's 🚗 is being taken care of. Enjoy your 📘

Mini brownies, sound interesting, B&B. I've heard of and seen mini muffins or cupcakes but never mini brownies. Now I need to sample one 🤎 (There are no brownie smilies so a brown heart that could be a chocolate brownie shaped heart shall work :))

:hug:Lynn, feel better. Please take care of yourself!

Safe and dry travels, Easyas:car:

What a sweet thing you and Tess did for her teacher, Carol by baking banana bread🍌🍞 I never have watched Blippi just Googled. Some kid's shows the character's voices can be awfully grating. No idea of that was part of the issue with Blippi. Prayers your doctor's appointment goes well.

QOTD : do you like to do jigsaw puzzles? Yes to 🧩But 100 pieces are my puzzle patience limit and I think dad's, too. We also don't have space to leave out a bigger puzzle to work on over time. Wish Dollar Tree had more puzzle selection. Dad will be going to a Dollar Tree in a little while and will check out their puzzle choices.

Have a good Thursday, friends 🐥

Good Morning. Humid 76 degrees here. We did seem to have some rain over night.

I am in such a good mood right now. Jim has been cleared by the foot doctor. The toe and lower leg have healed completely.
We took our Covid tests today at Walgreens and are NEGATIVE!!! Alaska here we come. I have put off doing too much waiting for the tests results. Best part is we qualified for free because of our health issues. Mine are minor but Jim does have a lot and I may have been inadvertently exposed through my mom. My brother's family all had covid and she is always around them.

The fixtures are in my house for the bathroom, FINALLY. I drove around with a toilet in my car for 2 days waiting for my grandson to stop by and bring them in the house. It will be so exciting to come home to a new bathroom.

I have some last-minute errands to do today and can pack tonight.

Tomorrow will be a good house cleaning and a baby shower. So I am hoping to get everything done today so I can relax tomorrow night. I know me though and I won't.

Will try and check back later.

Have a wonderful time!!! My youngest brother & his family just returned from a 10 day RV trip thru Alaska and had great weather. My other little brother & his wife leave in a few weeks on a Alaska cruise...I forget, NCL? maybe? They are scheduled to be on the boat that just sideswiped the little iceburg in the last week or two :rotfl2:

Morning all!

@Judique When we had Piper dog, and she got an upset stomach, we'd give her ice cubes instead of water, to slow down her gulping; and rice with boiled chicken (no salt or seasonings in either) with a TBLS of canned pumpkin (give less for little dogs). Hope your pup feels better soon.
@lynxstch Sounds like your Niece and Stepdaughter are having quite a week.

Not much going on here. Yesterday, we made homemade pizzas (flatbreads; pizza sauce, pepperoni, Italian cheese blend for DS; homemade pineapple-red onion 'jam', BBQ sauce, cheese, pickled red onion (quick pickle in pineapple juice and red wine vinegar) for DH and I). I swept and mopped the house. Woohoo. It hit 99 here yesterday (real feel was 109).🥵
Today, I have a couple loads of laundry to do, and I need to clean the bathrooms and vacuum the living room rug. So much work! :rotfl2: Todaywe are having pork and cabbage stir-fry for dinner. It's not going to be much cooler today; only 97. I might bake some mini brownies or lemon muffins in the tabletop oven today; I'm wanting something like that.

Y'all have a good day.

He's better today, by far and running around as if he were young again. Wish I could do that!

DD and I just finished lunch. We had a Costco salad that was sort of a chicken ceasar, with tomatoes, croutons, cheese and mixed greens. It was fresh and good. I added some avocado to mine. I picked one that was $8.45 and there was plenty for both of us but it was not the giant size packages. Beat paying $30 plus to have a couple of salads delivered by Wendy's, McD's or Chikfila.

It's 70ties and cloudy here. Very comfy for working outside. I got a bunch of stuff done.

DS has been texting me about babies and delivery all morning. Their baby is due next month and they took a Lamaze class this past weekend with 3 more to go. I took the classes with my first DD and then when labor started, poof! She came! But I do think it's great preparation.

And my oldest DD is going with her father and his wife, last week in July. It's a free cruise for her from what I understand. I think it's on Holland America.

I watched a short clip just now, and I agree with you. I'm rather glad this one came after my DS's little-kid years. :rotfl:

Alaska here we come.
Yeah!! Have a great time!

We just picked up DS's car and had to take a detour for some road work on the way back. I had dropped DH off to go in and pay/get the keys, so I got home first. A couple minutes later I got a text from DH - he had "missed" the turn back from the detour and ended up at the ice cream place :rolleyes1 and would I like anything?

I just enjoyed some chocolate soft serve with chocolate sprinkles. :dogdance:

Good afternoon.

My doctor's appt was with a spine specialist. I have been dealing with some sacral pain for going on 4 years now. So, I am going to try an injection of steroids and numbing agents and see what happens Can't hurt.

Then we went to the mall and Kohls. DH got a new iPhone. I got a cleaning kit for my Coach bag and a new clock radio. Mine started to make a funny noise so it scares me that it might start a fire.

Alaska here we come.
Have a great time!

Interesting. DD might have taken them in2017 but neither of my kids took any type of prep for birth classes in 2020 or 2022. Maybe due to COVID.

Sounds like something my DH would do. Ask least he called you.

Spaghetti and salad for dinner tonight. We got CFA at the mall for lunch.

QOTD... I enjoy jigsaw puzzles very much, but my back and neck get so sore doing them. Does that happen to anyone else? Lately I have been doing jigsaw puzzles online, which is nice.

tazdev... such good news, enjoy yourselves!

Today, I did some weeding in the garden. Washed a load of laundry. Trying to figure out what to make for dinner. Our DS got a new job, he doesn’t get home til about 7pm, which is a late dinner time for us, so trying to adjust.

Hello to all Quackers. I don't have much to say, but wanted to get on and at least say "hi". Nothing really new to report, other than each day just brings new stressors. I won't go into details, but I am about empty. My tank is running on fumes. I had a phone appointment with the "professional" this AM, which is always good. I am really tired. I have been sleeping a bit more, but unfortunately I have really vivid dreams that cause me to wake up in a sweat and one time I was almost sick. Ugh. Again, to those who have traveled this road and have come out on the other side, I commend you.
We had rain this AM and now it's humid. I have not even checked to see what it's supposed to do the rest of the week. I need to go out to the garage and start sorting some of the stuff so I can get a stall cleaned out for my car. We had a pretty good storm come through the other night and I park my car under a tree at the moment (it is large and hangs over the driveway) and it would have been nice to have it inside. I just want to sort stuff well and make sure if it comes in we will use it/really need it.
Hugs and prayers to all, double for those who are going through extra stress.

:hug:Judique, I am so happy to read that your dog is feeling better and that you and your DD also enjoyed your salad🥗Prayers for safe travels to come for your oldest DD.

I could not agree more (with both you, PollyannaMom and (Carol) Blippi=way too much! Wise DH you have there. I hope you enjoyed your chocolatey treat! 🍨 Adding to your later post, great bird picture!

Much 🙏Carol! I am sure sorry to read that you've been dealing with long-term pain, my friend.

:cheer2:Congratulations to your DS, Dazed on his new job. How exciting. :hug:I hear you. With my TMJ issues leaning over at anything causes me trouble! I'm sorry you have a similar experience.

Just another big :grouphug:dear Frog.

QOTD : do you like to do jigsaw puzzles?
I enjoy jigsaw puzzles. We do 300 piece puzzles, I don't have the room for larger. The only problem is the 300 piece is done too quickly between the two of us. Fortunately I have quite a few that belonged to my mom but she never got around to making them. Here's a picture of one DD and I finished today. She would have really enjoyed this one.

Lou Lou loves Blippi. She has watched all the episodes on Prime too many times. 😄

Such good news Taz!! Enjoy that cruise and your new bathroom!

DD signed on with a new attorney today. She has high hopes since this one deals strictly with Family Law. I just found out today that her ex attorney did other types of law in addition to Family. Maybe that's why he didn't seem on top of things. Lesson learned to use attorney that specializes in what you need them for.

It was hot today, 102. It was 80 degrees already at 7:00 am. You know that it's hot when you turn on the cold water side at the bathroom lavatory and warm water comes out.
