Carol, love that lighthouse picture! One day I hope to make it to the East Coast.

Poor Lou Lou is just coughing her head off. I spent a good part of the day yesterday with her in my lap. DD took her to Urgent Care last night. The doctor thinks that she has a virus and said that she has a ton of sinus drainage. He prescribed a cough medicine which seemed to help a lot last night but so far not much this morning. She seems to feel a little better though, is watching tv and playing with her duplos.

Good morning.

Full disclosure, I did not take that lighthouse picture but have seen it and wanted to share.

Here is another that was moved to the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. I have been inside but did not take this picture either. Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse.

Good Morning🐣

:grouphug:Snowysmom, proud of you! May you truly enjoy this trip. Have FUN today, my friend!

I love all the lighthouse pictures. I also had no idea a lighthouse could be a square. I'm glad you had a nice dinner, Carol :)

Huge prayers for Lou Lou to feel much better. Love the teddy bears, Lynn. The flower Mickey and Minnie are awesome, too. I wish DL had even a smaller version of flower and garden.

B&B, how cool you discovered a new feature on your oven. Dad years ago had gout. What has worked so well for him is Black Cherry juice. He says it tastes nasty at first but over the years he's semi come to like (or at least not totally dislike) it. He did need medication the first two bouts but with the juice (a 3oz cup a day) he's been fine ever since. Something to look into perhaps.

Another cooler morning here. It is supposed to heat up towards the weekend. Wishing each of you some extra joy today. I'll stop by later.

Continuing the lighthouse conversation just a bit more, these are called screwpile lighthouses and the two @Breezy_Carol pictured, plus one more are the three of this type still remaining in Maryland out of 45 built. The Thomas Point lighthouse is the only one on it's original site. The Chesapeake is a big deal around here to put it simply.

The Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse was moved to Baltimore Harbor from the mouth of the Patapsco River in Anne Arundel County - for those not in the area, that is where Annapolis is.

The 3rd one is the Drum Point Lighthouse which guarded the mouth of the Patuxent River for boats going up the Chesapeake. It was moved to the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomon's, Maryland and you can climb up in it and view the restoration which is period and quite beautiful. It's on my list this summer for an outing with the grands, along with Calvert Cliffs for shark's teeth. (I've been many times with my children and with friends as Solomon's is a nice little spot where you can find a meal easily and enjoy sea air and water views. This museum and grounds are worth a visit if you are nearby and have salt water in your veins as I do.

I've been a fan of lighthouses for quite a while and a few years ago my daughter and I participated in a lighthouse challenge where you visited as many as you could over a weekend - few years = like maybe 20 years ago! Time flies when you are having fun!

There is a cottage style lighthouse in Lusby, Maryland which is run as an airbnb. The funds go to preserving it. Memory here - I think that one is the Cove Point lighthouse. There are quite a few of the cottage style, with several that are towers with cottages attached or nearby, such as Piney Point.

We made it to North Conway. I actually did the drive myself. I am amazed. Standard Hampton inn, clean and spacious room. Today we will go to the center to look in shops and then Echo Lake.

Thinking of those who need prayers.

Have a good day.

I was just thinking of the escapees in Alabama and the ultimate ending and thinking that I would offer up a prayer for the female officer. Will never know what really possessed her but figure some sort of loneliness may have been a factor, to let all common sense go out the window, so prayers for her soul and for others that need help before it's too late.

edit to say: just using your thought, not saying you need help before it's too late! I reread this on my way through all the recent posts and worried that it would sound weird to @Snowysmom !!!

DH takes black cherry pills, and I keep bc juice around, for times like this. He rarely has flare ups since the transplant, but when he gets sick, that's when it flares up. Because it's in his hand, he asked for meds this go round.

Thanks for the thought, though!

75, sunny, nice breeze, absolute perfect weather..can we just keep this till September? I mulched 3/4 of the front until it got too hot in the sun. So I weedwacked the whole yard, including inside and outside the garden fence. The pain in the butt neighbor decided to be friendly today and wanted to talk. He told me his homemade weed killer remedy and says he's going to use it on the grass between his fences and our yard..about time! Mr L was asleep watching Good Doctor when I came in,,so I went back out and washed the car. Just took a cool shower, and did my hair,,and I am done till dinnertime.

Late for me to be posting but I've been busy! Taking full advantage of my staycation to get things done around the house. Today I worked some more on painting the cabinet doors. I bought a paint sprayer last night because yesterday it was taking so long to get them painted. Went to use it today and I was able to spray one door and then it stopped straying. I'm really over this project I started, I just want it to be done. I asked my boys if one of them could stop by and figure out what I'm doing wrong. I ended up painting most of them by hand, only one side though. I got my base cabinets painted last night, so I at least accomplished something. :thumbsup2

Took my car in to have the brakes replaced this morning :car:. The guy said it would be about 90 minutes so I went out walking. Walked for an hour, sweating and tired, got back about 10 minutes before the car was done, perfect timing. I had my steps in for the day by 10:30 am.:cool1:

In the low 80's here :sunny:. I had to bring a tall fan upstairs for the living room and I turned the one on that I keep in my bedroom. I won't turn the AC on yet, too early and I'm in no hurry for high gas and electric bills to start rolling in.

Great Mickey picture with the pins. Very cleaver way of displaying your pins.::MickeyMo

Question about these lighthouses, does someone live in these? I think the only one I've seen was heading in to the Bahamas on a cruise.:sail:

Think I'm going to bake some salmon and some grilled vegetables for dinner tonight. That's if I feel like getting off the couch!

Have a great rest of the day/night.

Waving good afternoon or early evening,

The lighthouse shares are so interesting, thanks everyone.

Hug, B&B, I'm glad to hear it.

Keep enjoying your vacation, Footballmouse!

Snowysmom, I hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday.

Still cool in here for me. It is supposed to be much warmer, I sure hope by the end of the week.

I love seeing and hearing about all the different lighthouses!

DD got the results of the test done on Lou Lou last night. She also has strep. She has coughed most of the afternoon. She had her first dose of amoxicillin a little while ago. So far no temperature today.

Our fridge is full of containers from the last couple of days so dinner tonight will be leftovers.

Thread bump to add extra feel better prayers for Lou Lou, Kirby. I truly hope she is able to rest well tonight.

Prayers please for my TX cousins. Steve continues to go through so much pain, possibly a long-term effect from when he had Covid. He's also had lifelong health issues.

Wishing all of you a peaceful good night's rest.

Thank you Mona, Lou Lou the cough medicine is finally kicking in and she is not coughing as much. Still no fever so if all goes well tomorrow she will be able to attend the last day of preschool.

Will pray for your cousins. What part of Texas do they live in?

Anyone keeping up with This Is Us? I tape the show and watch it later. If not tonight, then hopefully tomorrow. I really enjoy the show and am sad to see it end. But with the way it has been written I don't know how much longer they could have kept it going.

Hello to all. I’m having a hard time getting settled tonight. Sleep is pretty rare these days.
@Breezy_Carol love that light house. It would be fun to stay in over night. I wonder if there are lighthouses you can do that? Might have to ask Google that question.
@Kirby sorry to hear LouLou is under the weather.
Hope her meds have kicked in and she is improving.
@footballmouse you are brave to take on those projects. I was just doing a little research today about painting Formica counter tops. Has anyone ever done this?
@Snowysmom hope your trip is going well and you are relaxing!
@lynxstch you exhaust me with your posts. Can you come whip my house into shape?
Things with me are about the same. My husband barely acknowledges my existence when I see him. It’s awful. I am in very cautious in hopes a house I’ve been looking at will actually work out and I’ll be able to move out this summer. I am dreading having to uproot the kids but it’s really taxing on my mental health to be here. My hope for reconciliation is almost to zero. I know I could have done a lot of things better, but nobody deserves to be cheated on.
On a bright note, a very dear friend who is also friends with my husband (her and her husband have been our friends for years…they have known him since he was little actually) reached out. I was so relieved to hear from her. She said she will always be my friend. She let my cry and carry on for 4 hours. What a great blessing it was to let so much out.

Yes, I am!

I love the show - I DVR and watch pretty fatefully first thing Wednesday mornings. This one was a doozy!

My favorite thing about the show is how the writers always connect the past and the present.

Are you in the discussion thread on it here on the DIS? (I lose track of the names, sometimes.)

I hope Lou Lou feels better soon.

Frog Thinking of you. I hope the house works out for you.

Dazedx3 Thinking of you and uour DH. Hoping chemo is a go.

We did alot of shopping yesterday. I treated myself to some vera bradley bags, a cardinal sink strainer, and some stonewall kitchen items. We tried to go to echo lake but the parking lot is not open and the space outside the lot was full. We will try again today.

I am glad I did this trip but I am not sure I can come back. Chris is everywhere. I miss him and the good times we had. We were in a store and a song began playing, Beach Baby. That was popular when we started dating. We always sang along. I have not heard it in years. So I was crying in the store and singing along. Maybe Chris was giving me a sign.

It is warm here around 75 today and sunny.
Have a good day.

Good morning all. @Kirby and @PollyannaMom--I am watching This is Us, but I never watch till the next day, so thanks for not giving any spoilers. I didn't care for last week's Miguel episode, I sure wasn't expecting the ending. I have a feeling that last nite's was probably a 'keep the tissue box handy' episode

Going to be 80 again today. Trash is out, as soon as Mr L gets dressed we are going to get his lab work done, then hit the stores. Kohls, need to return some Skechers we got him on Amazon, that are nowhere near the X Wide they are supposed to be. Then Walmart and Kohls. The new med his Dr ordered is out of stock at CVS so we have to wait till they get more in.

Have a great day all,
