@DisneyDar, :welcome:

Took a hike in Fair Hill today. We observed signs of spring. Spring peepers, a pair of geese, a pair of Mallard ducks, and daffodils.

After that I played travel agent. We were waiting until after settlement to make some travel commitments but seeing as that was postponed we went ahead anyway.

First booked the auto train south for our WDW trip in August. Then booked a cruise to replace the one we cancelled that we’d be on right now. This one will be in January out of Miami. Just a short one to Labadee and Key West but in a junior suite aft balcony and can use credits for half of it.

Good night everyone.

Good morning. It is 37 today going into the mid 40s. It is supposed to be sunny so that will be good.

Chris' close cousin, more like a brother, called last night. We keep in touch as we have Chris is common. He and Chris talked alot, hours at a time. I also stay in touch with another close cousin. He is alot older than me so I want to make sure he is OK. Chris would be happy I am keeping an eye on them. The cousin who called last night has major health issues so I want to check up on him to be sure he is OK too.

Off to make coffee and get ready for another exciting (not) day of work.

Good morning all--
Welcome to our thread @DisneyDar--I too am glad that Tina started this thread,,only I wish she would come back and update us on what's been going on in her life..she's been missing far too long!

Wow big temp change this morning. We didn't get the downpours, or the severe storms, or really even much wind yesterday, and the temp eventually went to 71. Our high for the day will be 48 and there is more wind than last night.

No big plans for the day, have to make grocery list as usual, gather trash as usual, change out litter boxes as usual. I need a little more variety in my life, lol!

Have a great day all

Happy Tuesday morning! :)

Finally stopped raining late yesterday afternoon and it turned cold. Stopped and got gas and was wishing I had my gloves :cold:. I ended up shutting my windows and turning the heat back on :headache:.

DisneyDar :welcome:!

Snowysmom, I'm sure places will start popping up once Spring hits. My son is looking for a house and I told him to be patient, lots of places hit the market in the Spring.

Need to get back to eating better. All weekend I've been grabbing carryout for dinner. I ended up giving some of the frozen dinners that I got from Sam's to Ds2 yesterday. Ds3 isn't home long enough to eat dinner anymore so I'm done worrying about making something that he likes. I'm at the office today so for breakfast I have 2 hard boiled eggs and a yogurt for later. I think I'm going to buy lunch from the cafeteria, they're having baked cod and I'll get the carrots and zucchini with it. I have a piece of grilled chicken thawing out for dinner, I'll make that and a vegetable. I did grab a pan of grilled chicken breasts from Sam's that I kept. Those will be nice to just pull out in the morning for dinner.

Guess I should start doing some work, have to look busy when the boss comes in ::yes::. Have a great day! :tink:

We didn't have the rain or storms last night either but it was windy.

We had some rain, although not the heavy rain predicted but the wind was really blowing! When we went to bed it was so warm that we had overhead fan on and one of the bedroom doors (french, leading out to porch) open all night. It was chilly this morning!

Lots to be done today at work, and I just realized the meeting I have at 2 tomorrow is Central Time, not my time zone and I've already got two other appt's in town at 4 & 4:30...I've fouled up somewhere along the line with my scheduling so I'm going to have to do some juggling I guess. Or sit in my car outside of my other appt. and have my phone meeting there. I'll figure it out I suppose -

Leftovers are on the menu this evening. Venison stew, stuffed shells and chicken salad in fridge, in small amounts. So what doesn't get eaten for lunch is for dinner.

I best get to my day. Have a good morning everyone -

My son is looking for a house
Found this in my quotes that I forgot to comment on before. My DD is also looking for a new home. They have been in their current house for 9 years and need something bigger. They got preapproved for a loan and have an agent looking for a suitable house for them.

Ahhh, smorgasbord.

I'm not sure if they are looking to stay in the same general area or not, but We had to go from Kenton via some backroads I hadn't ever been on, which brought us to Smyrna (in the vicinity of the diner / Central Tractor - that area) and on the way there were several housing developments as well as single homes not affiliated with a development - I had NO IDEA all that was back there behind Rt. 13!

Super windy here today as well. The cat insisted on coming out anyway, so I noticed the recycling bin had tipped over (thankfully before stuff blew all around) and picked that back up.

I have a Zoom class at 11:00 and then I have to gather some tax stuff. DH did the initial sort trough the folder and found what he could on line. Then he made a list of misc things we still need to dig up. I'll look for those ones this afternoon, so everything is ready before our appointment later this week.

Tomorrow I have some errands to run, then I'm watching my honorary niece and nephew after they get out of school.

Good Morning Everyone, 🌼

I also wish Tina would come back to check in. I sure thank her for starting this thread. With all my heart I thank God for putting it in Tina's heart to do so and all of you dear fellow Quacker family members for keeping us going. I believe the "ALL are Welcome," means just that. WE (each of us), I believe, do our best to be of welcome to anyone who stops by and that is what matters. Plus, of course, how God has kept us together which is something I cherish so. I truly pray one day God-willing we can have our Quacker family meet. Till then, dear friends, please keep our thread going strong :)

Our regular Sparkletts delivery man surprised us yesterday afternoon by stopping by! We are so blessed to have Sandro. He provides such great service. He brought a new cold pull for the cooler and that solved the problem just fine . He'll be making his regular delivery tomorrow. That was absolutely an extra gratitude for yesterday.

:grouphug:extra and :thanks:to each of you with love.

Good morning all.... meant to post yesterday and never got around to it.
@lynxstch love the pic of your niece in her dress. Soo creative...love it.

Sunday, we took a drive to the coast, about 50 miles from where we're staying. We went to Santa Cruz and walked around the wharf/pier and then walked the boardwalk where they have a little amusement park. It was really cute there.
DH and I.... :lmao: I was on tippy toes to get my face up there...lol

We saw tons of sea lions, even a little baby hitching a ride on its momma back. Soo cute.

DH found out we have to extend out time here into next week. I was looking forward to going home this weekend but oh well...lol I had to call my insurance provider yesterday to see about getting some extra blood pressure pills to hold me over until we go home. The facility is just right down the street so that's convenient, I'll go there today to pick them up. I've been walking around the outside of the building every day so getting my exercise in here more than I usually do at home so that's good too. LoL Maybe I'll lose some lbs before our trip at the end of the month.

Hope everyone has a great day...

Cute picture, AuntieMe3! :)

Carol, I meant to tell you, I loved the children's moment Sunday and also the story of the water bearer! It reminded me of our thread in a way.

For all, the pastor told a story of a water bearer who daily toted two pots of water to the home of his master. One pot perfectly held a full container of water while the second pot only held half the amount because it was cracked on one side. The second pot felt inadequate because of its own perceived imperfections. Finally, after 2 years, the second pot apologized to the water bearer for only being able to carry half the amount of water that it felt it should. It also felt badly thinking he caused trouble for the water bearer for not allowing him to bring back a full container. It felt unneeded and inadequate. Perhaps also like the water bearer would be better off without him because he didn't matter.

One day, this cracked pot apologized yet again to the water bearer as they made their way to the home of the master. The water bearer asked the second pot to pay attention to the flowers they would pass on the way to the house. The pot didn't seem to think anything of the sight until the water bearer asked him if he had noticed that flowers were only planted on one side of the trail--this cracked pot's side and not the other side that the whole pot was toted. The cracked pot didn't get why this was important until his friend the water bearer explained that he had planted the flowers purposely only on the side he carried the cracked pot. Why? So that the cracked pot could daily nurture the flowers with the excess water it couldn't hold.

Waste not want not and more importantly a reminder that each of us was created in love by God Who is LOVE. We each play a role in caring for one another and serve Him by doing so with joy. YOU (reading this right now) my dear Quacker family member, make a difference to ME, to each of us, and to God. You bring joy to this world, and I appreciate you. Never forget either, that no matter what, God is with you and He loves you! That we might extend that grace, His light within us to another who may stop in our thread or in our lives otherwise, is a blessing from Him and one I believe He has given us extra through keeping our Quacker family a Quacker family, where ALL are welcome!

Have a good afternoon everyone :)
