@Pea-n-Me, thank you for the chicken recipe!

I have found out that Tractor Supply will ship if there is not a store within I believe 25 miles of you and they do carry the friskies moist cat food. If you have not been in one the best I can describe it is an old fashioned general store that sells just about everything from farm equipment supplies, to stuff for both livestock and pets along with clothing and decorations, some toys for the kids and on of the best collections of gardens seeds around short of going to an actual nursery.
We love Tractor Supply! It's always fun to walk around in. You never know what you are going to find.

I don't drink coffee, but I do normally drink a morning hot chocolate! :) I have come to so enjoy this Hot Chocolate from Ralph's. Sometime's I have it twice during the day.
This sparked a memory from way back in the 70's. The building I worked in had a little cafe on the 1st floor. They had the best hot chocolate that came in a packet. It was called Butternut, I think, and we drank it just about every day, even in the summer. It was so good! I have never been able to find it.

I also told him that I am looking into getting a walker with a seat. This way he can walk as he likes, BUT he can also sit and rest. More importantly he will have more stability than a cane offers.
They make one that doubles as a wheelchair. The seat back can switch from front to back if needed. You can either walk and push it, sit in it if you get tired and even have some one push you. It also has pull down foot rests so you don't have to hold your feet up.

Lynxstch, so glad you were able to get the chair fixed. What a nightmare it could have been!

easyas, :grouphug: .

DD got a Covid test yesterday. Hopefully will have results tomorrow. The rest of us are doing fine.

Dinner tonight was chicken noodle soup.

:grouphug: @easyas123 I'm so sorry. We got Bingo's ashes yesterday....it was, again, an emotional day for us.

I'm so far behind again but I'll try to do a catch up tomorrow morning.

I've been pretty lazy this week but finally got all the Christmas stuff put away today. The big tree needs to be packed up still but everything else is done. The house looks so blah but then again looks so nice, clean and uncluttered...

DH and I were supposed to go to Vegas next week to meet up with a friend of his, who'll be there for a convention but we decided to cancel. I've heard things are back to early Covid times, lots of the restaurants closed, etc...plus we don't want to take our chances of getting sick while we're there. I'm a little disappointed but feel like we made the right choice too. We've been saying we wanted to go on a trip, not work related, for awhile now but nothing has panned out so hoping we can get something planned soon.

Since I'm sure you all will be reading in the morning....I hope you had a good night and a have a great day. :grouphug:

Good morning all. Not too bad out at 29 and will be going into the 40s, but I am not happy about the weather forecast for Sunday into Monday. 1-3 starting in the afternoon Sunday, and maybe 5-8 overnite. I can handle clearing the 4" we got the other day, but if we really get that much, I will have to get someone else to do it. And everything is nice and clear and melted from the other day.

Is anyone else watching that new Judge Steve Harvey show? I am not a fan of his, but we just watched the first 2 episodes last nite, and we both were laughing hysterically at it. I don't know if they are real cases, some of them seem 'staged', but it's on our to watch list now. Also watched that new one, Good Sam, and it's not going to be one of my favorites. Hits a little too close to home, health wise for both of us. Mr L liked it a lot more than I did.

Today is wash the kitchen floor, and clean both bathrooms, and then do a nothing day.

@AuntieMe3- Sorry that you had another hard day. It just feels so 'final', doesn't it? I always buried mine/ours out in the back yard in what I call my 'cat garden'. Bingo was loved from the day you got him, till his last day, and will always be a part of your life. :grouphug:

Have a nice morning all~~

Good Thursday morning everyone! :wave2:

easyas123, sorry to hear about your pup. It sounds like your having a really rough week, the drink was probably what you needed.

Hung out at home again last night. Made spaghetti with meat sauce last night. Enough left over for lunch today and I'll run a bowl up to my aunt after work today. The Amazing Race was on last night :happytv:. This was the last episode that they shot before the COVID shutdown. They had to suspend taping and the teams were brought back 18 months later to finish filming. It looks like 3 of the teams didn't come back.

I usually fall asleep with the TV on in my room. Last night I was watching/listening to House Hunters. For some reason, I was watching to see each house and wouldn't you know it, after they toured the final house I fell asleep . Now I don't know which house they picked!

Got a call from Ds2 yesterday at work. He cut his thumb while he was at work (he's a flooring installer) and wanted to know what he needed to bring with him to the hospital. I told him that if he cut his thumb off, make sure he brings that :D, but if not just bring his insurance card and ID. Called him when I got home and he said that he's there now and then before he left he calls me to ask what paperwork he needed to bring home with him. I said to bring everything home because I'm not sure what he'll need for a worker's comp claim. What these boys would do without their mom 8-).

Just finished eating breakfast (at work), a hard boiled egg and a piece of toast. I don't feel like filling the coffee pot with water so I can have my tea but I'm willing to walk across the hall (the same place where I would get the water) to go get a Coke. That makes a lot of sense.

Okay, that's it for me. Going to take that long (not really) walk with my sore knees. Have a good day :goodvibes.

Good morning everyone, and thanks for all of your kind words.
Today is a better day than yesterday, and tomorrow will be better than today.

It's cold out, that damp kinda cold. Burrrr......we are expecting a nor'easter on Sunday. Starting as snow, ending as ice & or rain. Booooo for ice. My nephew tested positive yesterday-he's 16 but feeling okay, just cold-like symptoms, already feeling better - so my brother is working from home today & tomorrow just in case since we still have a few unvaccinated folks in the office.

Took some chicken breast tenders out of the freezer, thinking sauteed chicken with spinach and some of the already roasted cherry tomatoes from the garden I put in the freezer. Might live crazy and have some rice with it.

Best get to work!

Glad he is feeling better, and hope nobody else comes down with it.

Hoping to have a nice boring day here - the errands I didn't do during Tuesday's deep freeze, and packing up one more box of Christmas stuff.

Good Morning,

Darker and cooler here today. Dad is shortly headed to the Dollar Tree and Target. Our new birthday tablecloth is scheduled to come tomorrow. We never did get mailbox mail again last night just packages through the mail which means there are once again two separate mail carriers (one for mailbox mail and the other for packages). I hope mail trouble isn't stirring and starting up again here or for any of you!

Prayers for negative results for your DD, dear Kirby. Glad my cocoa share brought you a good memory. I remember you have Kroger out there. I think you’d really like what I so enjoy—it sometime.

Hug, AuntieMe3. I’m sorry you had to cancel your trip. Sadly, I agree that you and your DH made the wise and safest choice. Prayers you get to go another time when things are safer out there.

Snowysmom , 27 and 40 sound icicle turning into like to me, lol! Keep warm, my friend.

I would hope after doing all that cleaning, dear Lynn, you’d take the afternoon off! Your whirlwind cleaning energy continues to amaze me. I truly do admire how on top of household chores you are! pluto:made me smile, thanks.

I’m sorry you missed the chosen house, Footballmouse. Where was the House Hunters? I might have recorded it. Let me know and I will check. Aw, kids always need a loving parent!

:grouphug:Easyas. Wise words you posted, my friend,

You just have a good and safe travel day as well, dear PollyannaMom.

🌼Have a good Thursday all!

Back from physical therapy, therapist says my ham string is spasming. So she did a painful 30 minutes of massage. I don't know why but massage of any kind is very painful to me.

Stopped at Walmart to get some canned dog food. When Tucker was sick this last time, he wouldn't eat. So we added some canned food to his dry. Well, now even though he is feeling better he won't eat the dry food. He just looks at us now and waits! :rotfl2: Oh well, I guess he will be spoiled from here on out.

Finally, took our Christmas tree down yesterday. Still have some other decorations to pack up, but at least it is getting done, albeit slowly.
I have so much decor, but I try to pare down, I really do!:rolleyes1 I did find one santa to donate ( my DH just rolled his eyes)

Have a nice day everyone, do something that is just for you!

They say it will start raining anytime now and continue through 5 pm. Of course it will. Because I just finished vacuuming and washing the kitchen and bathroom floors. I cleaned both bathrooms from top to bottom..even took the globe lights off the vanity thing over the sink and cleaned those..a lot brighter in there now,,there was dust on them. Kitchen floor is shiny and smells good..I used the lavender wetjet fluid, washed the rugs, washed the bathroom rugs, and now I am going to do nothing for awhile.

@dazedx3--sorry that massages are painful. Does your ham string at least feel any better after getting one? I hope it gets better soon. Our Walmart had very little in the way of canned dog food (I only noticed because I walked down that row on my way to the wet cat food. They actually had more cat food than dog food , which is unusual. I keep laughing when I walk down to the cellar..as I have more cat food stocked down there, than they have on all the shelves in the wet cat food section.

Afternoon all.

((hugs)) @easyas123 Losing a furry family member is always rough.

DS took his GED tests for English and Social Studies on Tuesday, and aced both; he's out taking the science and math portions right now. Once that's done, I'm going to look at flights, so he can go visit DD#2 in Cali in Feb/March, for a few months.

DD#2 made it to Cali; and was told they are NOT getting their house on the 22nd as planned; that it would be the 31st. Apparently there is some base rule that there has to be 15 days between tenants, and the peopl in there now pushed back their move out date to the 15th or 16th. She is a bit frustrated, to say the least; as DSoIL had to report on the 12th (not the 20th as they were originally told) and that leaves them staying in crappy base hotel for 20 days (they got there on the 11th, I think.)

@dazedx3 I did do something just for me! I bought me a new phone (well, trading in my old one for it, which will make it practically free, lol). Went from a Galaxy s10e to a Galaxy s21 (not the fancy ones, just the plain jane version). Searching for a case on Amazon still, lol.

I've started packing. I have no idea where I'm going to put all these boxes, haha. We are replacing the couches and end tables, and are either going to replace the kitchen table or just get some tall chairs for the little what-cha-ma-call-it.. oh, dang it. Where you can put chairs at the counter. /sigh I can't remember for the life of me what it's called, and I am just not in the mood to google.

We put in our application for a house, about 30 minutes from our house, but the same driving time to work for DH. (He'll go from half street, half highway to almost all highway.) It's still 3 bedrooms, but has a separate dining room, family/breakfast nook room, and a living room, so I'm going to turn the dining room into my office, and put a table in the family room. No covered or screened porch, so I'll have to look into a outdoor cage system for the cats, as they love being outside in the sun, but I don't want them able to roam about. (the apartment we're in has a screened in patio, so it's safe for them.) Hopefully we'll find out today or tomorrow if we get it (and really, there shouldn't be any issues, as we fit all their criteria); if it falls through, there are 2 other houses and one townhome we really liked, but would cost more to move into. The townhome is kinda funny, since it turns out that DH did the civil design work on it (for the grading, sidewalk/road and line placement, things like that)...he rarely gets to see his work in action, so it's nice. They are still being built, so we'd have to deal with construction noise and dust for another year or so/

Bacon cheddar burgers, sweet potato fries, and salad for dinner tonight; and tomorrow is roasted chickpeas, cauliflower and carrots with a lemony tahini sauce, and maybe some bread if I get my behind in gear tonight and start an overnight dough.

Y'all have a good day!

:hug:Dazed, I am so not a massage of any type person. I'm sorry the ne you had PT was painful. Prayers the PT did help in some way. Aw to Tucker the dog. I once had a preschooler named Tucker who became very special to me. Please take your own advice, friend, and do something just for you today :)

So glad you are done cleaning. Lynn. Now REST! A clean floor always does smell good and look shiny, too :)

B&B, prayers for your DS and safe travels to your DD! Post pandemic, let me know if ever you come out to CA :)

@easyas123 and @AuntieMe3

Sorry about your losses of Bingo and the one who was not named. Like @lynxstch I also have a burial ground down in the back field. I used to plant a tree but last time it was a Holly bush for my dog named Holly. I have some solar lights down there and when I look out at night I can see them. Older DD lost her other cat in the last year and she is down there also. When the grands come to visit, they go to see Monica. There is a small slab of granite that I used to weigh down the earth. In the spring I will transfer some daylilies down there.

This being an older neighborhood, there are many pets buried in back yards.

Good afternoon.

Kind of gray and cold. I miss walking outside.

Our COVID test yesterday was one of the easiest ever. 11 minutes from when we got in line until we were on our way home. Stopped at CFA for one last peppermint chocolate chip milkshake before they are gone for the year.

Today, doing laundry. Earlier DH and I went to his office to replace the switch plates, etc, and be done with the paint job. Then we took a drive through the country side to the Conowingo Dam to look for eagles. No eagles but saw heron, vultures, geese, and buffleheads. At home, I used my binoculars and bird ID app and I think my hawk is a Cooper's Hawk.

The Amazing Race was on last night
I enjoyed it. I am cheering for Kim and Penn. There are a lot of short YouTube videos of them talking about the race.

He cut his thumb while he was at work
Too bad. And what would kids do without mom?

we are expecting a nor'easter on Sunday.
I am ready for a good snowfall with nowhere to go.

So she did a painful 30 minutes of massage.
As a PT, I can say, PT stands for Pain and Torture. It's what we like to do. :rotfl2: Whenever the sports announcers talk about an injured player, they say that they have to endure "grueling" physical therapy.

there are many pets buried in back yards.
We have the ashes of 6 dogs in our backyard, under 5 trees. The last 2, the goldens, were buried together.

Chili and salad for dinner. And I am going to place a grocery pickup for tomorrow before the snow panic hits.

DD got her positive test result early this morning. They are having the teachers abide by the new 5 day quarantine so she's to go back on Tuesday and wear a mask. The students have to abide by the regular 10 day quarantine so Lil Joe will be home all next week. Lou Lou will be out of Preschool also. I hope that if the rest of us stay well over the next weekend, we can consider ourselves Covid free. My sister, who also has Covid, told me this morning that she thinks that the hospital numbers are inflated to make people get the vaccine. She and her DH are anti-vaxxers. He was supposed to go back to work on Tuesday but since this symptoms had not gone away, they just told him to stay home until this coming Monday. He is feeling okay now except for extreme fatigue. My sister goes back to work on the 20th. She is having headaches, toothaches, finger joint aches and sinus drainage. A friend of mine has had two Covid tests and they both show negative. He sense of taste is gone, she has a ringing/buzzing in her ears and her finger joints hurt. Her PA told her that she feels that she does have Covid and prescribed her steroids to help with her ears. She was having headaches but they are gone now.

I went to Kroger this morning, wore a mask. More people are wearing them. I just happened to need more bird seed and walked by the canned cat food on my way down the aisle. Now ya'll have me looking for it!!!!! There was plenty except for Fancy Feast, the shelf are for that brand was almost bare. I noticed that some things have gone up since last week. Campbell's Healthy Request Cream of Mushroom Soup has gone up almost 25 cents. It used to cost about $1.25 and now its $1.49. Roasts have gone up drastically. A 4 lb roast is now almost $40. I can't remember any of the others at the moment.

So sweet that you both, Judique and Carol have tree/bush type memorial's for beloved pets. Years ago, dad and I had a small memorial garden (it was public space but near a family friend named George's sliding apartment door) for Champ. It was a healing thing to do. I remember George sharing how a squirrel would often stop by as if paying his respects! Goerge would get the squirrel peanuts and we at one time had a picture of the squirrel standing outside the sliding door looking in as if waiting for George to feed it! Wish we still had that photo. Good memory.

:grouphug:Kirby and much prayer for your DD and entire family to be well!

Still cool and grayish here. I liked yesterday's weather better, lol. I'll have to have another hot chocolate later :)

Thread save!

Still no mail--of any kind--today. I hope all of you got some happy mail today :) Doing well on getting more crosswords for dad. I just hope the mail will deliver them!

It "rained" here for a few minutes, very lightly this afternoon and that was that. Otherwise just overcast. ☀Come back, please! :)

Have a good night's rest, friends.
