Good Tuesday morning! ☀

Supposed to get back up into the 60's again for a few days, then back to the cold :cold:.

Drove all the way to Meijer yesterday to print out some pictures from my phone for ds1's wedding. They are decorating a board by the bar area with pictures of the bride and groom growing up. Anyway, I got all the way to the store (about a 15 minute drive) only to see a sign in the photo department "hours of operation 9 am- 9 pm". Next line says "Sorry, closed", it was 4:30. I was so mad, I had to go to Walgreens which is 1 minute from my house >:(. Got all the pictures printed out, they told me to limit them to 12 :rotfl2:. Like I'm really going to be able to pick only 12 pictures of my kid's life up until now :scared:. I picked out the ones I really liked during different stages of his life (baby, toddler, grade school, high school, adult) and they can choose which 12 they want to put up. I did have some cute couples pictures of them during our Disney World trip in 2018 so I included those. It was fun to flip through the photo albums, I miss my kids being little :(.

Nothing exciting for dinner last night. Chipotle for me and left-over chili dip and pizza bread for ds3. Watched some episodes of an old Survivor season, then tried to watch an episode Lottery Dream House but I already saw that episode so went to bed and put on the Monday night football game.

Found a chair on Facebook Marketplace last night so I'm going to go look at that after work today. I need to get rid of the chair in the living room and get something in better shape before everyone comes over for Xmas. The dogs won't be too happy that I'm getting rid of "their" chair but they need to learn to lay on the floor. They had dog beds before but the cats always layed on the them :cat::dog: and the dogs are afraid of the cats.

Oh well, that's about it for me, back to work. Hope everyone has a great day. :butterfly

Good morning.

32 when I was awoken at 7:15 by a text message that could have waited. Sunny though. I have a shift at the church welcome center this afternoon.

This made me :)

Started ordering some Christmas gifts on Amazon last night.

I have my texts set to silent because of this. If it's emergency, call.

The dog here is afraid of my DD's cat and probably with possible reason. If he (Yorkie) comes out of his 'safe' place, the cat pays attention and advances towards him. He quickly turns and runs back into his spot.

My other 2 cats live with his presence and walk around him and he will do his survey of the kitchen floor (looking for anything I may have dropped accidentally whether it be food, a napkin or whatever) and then go back to his space.

It looks like DD's cat has moved in. DD had two that were litter mates and the female passed from cancer not too long ago. So, he was having a difficult time being alone. She took a couple of weekend trips and had a friend watching him, but he decided to pee anywhere.

Brought him here and put him in my 2 tier cat cage for awhile and worked with calming him down. After a month and a half he's back to using the regular litter box (as opposed to puppy pads on the cage bottom tier).

He's now able to roam my house and DD came with the girls this past weekend. He hid. After everyone was quiet for the night he came out to be with me. So I called DD into the living room and she said 'can you keep him?'.

So I said, 'until you want him back' and you buy his food and pet insurance, etc. I'm retired now and with 2 cats and a dog, I have enough pet bills. She's happy that he seems happy. I should add that he is 13 years old, not really young.

Go with the store bought.

I think I'm going to! One less thing to check off the to-do list-

where is the dog going?

A town called Hingham.

. I think the next person who asks me that may get educated in what grief is how it works

That's got to be difficult for you to manage and respond to multiple times, I imagine many folks don't know what to say and in the immediacy of the moment just blurt out something they think is appropriate.

Just waiting for Summer to get here so I can to my Drs appt.

Good luck today!

Today I'm getting the bags out for my holiday.

Have a good time on your trip!

Started ordering some Christmas gifts on Amazon last night.

I actually placed a Christmas gift order this AM myself, I read a article on a place selling very odd flavored potato chips and it seemed like a fun gift for the eldest, so I ordered it. I usually get one or two odd food related gifts for them each year. The year they got the lollipops with bugs in them was a hit! Of course that year they were 12 & 10, so it was good timing for bug-related cuisine :)

Not much going on with us this week. I'm headed out on the road for the afternoon in a while, gotta go to a jobsite for a meeting this afternoon. I've got another afternoon meeting on the schedule Thursday afternoon and a Dr. appt. Friday afternoon. I think after the Dr. appt. I'm going to hit the Costco liquor store to stock up for the holiday, might poke around the store proper for a few things if I'm so inclined as well. Did get our flights to Munich and return from Budapest yesterday. Wanted to fly out of PHL, but there were no direct flights...I couldn't see the point in flying from PHL to Chicago and sitting there for 3 hours and then flying to Munich so we switched airports and are going out of Dulles now. Nice to see it on paper so-to-speak, makes it real. We are so ready to go on this trip, so finally getting the flights situated it great.
Dinner last night was chicken soup, and tonight is going to be fish w/ a salad. I've got a bit of lamb in the freezer and I think I'll take that out for Thursday nights dinner.

Lucky dog! One of the country’s nicest dog parks is there! ☺️ Such a nice thing you do!

@Judique, I love that you’re keeping the cat! Sort of! 😝 I’d say we need pics sometime!

Tuesday hugs to all from cooler LA,

:grouphug:Snowysmom. ITA with PollyannaMom's post and am so glad you do have those cousins. My friend, there is indeed no timeline for grief nor one way to grieve. God is forever with you and by His Grace so is Chris. We all care, too, my friend. We are here for you. PM me anytime.
Dear Lynn, you are still an energizer bunny or maybe Tigger :tigger: Please take care, my friend and slow down a little! Prayers your doctor's appointment goes well today. I am so glad Summer is taking you.

:hug:Judique, gray weather can indeed make days seem longer and not as sunny (in general). Take care, my friend. I'm so glad your neighbor visited with you last night and that you have your trip to look forward to as well. I'm with your daughter. I would not feel comfortable driving a bigger car or van either.

How frustrating, Footballmouse! I'm sorry about your wasted trip to Meijer. Glad you got your photos through Walgreens. Hugs to you, mom. Champ for a time had his own special chair too! :)

BRRR. Carol, please stay warm and safe! Early morning calls (or texts) are no fun indeed. I admit to being old fashioned and turn my phone off for the night usually by 8pm. Thank you again for volunteering at the welcome center. if I lived out there, I would love to take a shift, too :)

I hope your doctor's appointment will also go well, Easyas, prayers. My dad enjoys different potato chip flavors. I am plain all the way :)

I will check back in later.

And I'm in waiting for summer also! Every time the temp dips in the fall, I get some seasonal depression. Haven't been outside since Saturday. I will try to fix that today and get moving.

Have you ever tried one of these? -

I love mine on grey days! And I bought my DS one too.

(I know I've posted it before, but don't remember which thread, so I apologize if this is a repeat recommendation!)

@flyingdumbo127, love the Tuesday Hugs graphic!

Back from my shift at church. Got everything on to do list for today done. There is always something else to do.

I have my texts set to silent because of this. If it's emergency, call.
I had it set up when I was working. I might need to change the times on it. And I just looked and may have lost the settings in the last update.

Just stopping by to say hi. I've been reading but not posting :wave2: too much going on. I've been keeping everyone that needs them in my thoughts and prayers.

Our poor Bingo boy has been diagnosed with lymphoma. :( Because of his age and some other health concerns, we declined being referred to an oncologist. :guilty: We will just keep him comfy and let him live out his life for now...we're all pretty upset but for now he's still doing ok...eating, drinking, playing, etc

Drs appt went very well. They were happy with all my numbers, and I am happy that I have been losing a few pounds, thanks to the Lasix. They gave me a follow up appt for 3 months, an appt for an electrocardiogram in Feb, and will have the cute Dr who did my cath and stuff,, call to make a follow up appt. Came home just in time for the mattress guys to show up and deliver the mattress. They put the bed together, and were here in gone in 10 minutes. Summer helped me get the headboard on and make the bed,,and it looks so nice now..just waiting for the nightstands and the lamps. She is coming tomorrow morning to take all the trash down, and boy is there a lot of it, lol. Then she's taking both of us for labwork.
Dr reduced my amiodarone, added Jardiance, which CVS says will cost us $643,,I said no way. Called the cardio office, they just called back saying they cancelled that and prescribed Farxiga, which isn't much better in cost. They told CVS to call if it's too expensive, and they will get authorization from the drug company to cover it. That would be a BIG help!

I'm glad you liked the image, PollyannaMom. Sometimes truly there are no words just hug. that said, hug to you, my friend:hug:

I'm glad you're safely home, Carol and hope you can rest now.

Just :grouphug: AuntieMe3, I'm so sorry. Prayers and peace to all of you, including, of course, Bingo.

Great news, Lynn and I like the pictures. may you and Mr. L indeed sleep in much peace on your new mattress! Prayers, of course, on the medication!

Wishing all of you a good afternoon.

I am waiting for next summer too, but in my case, I meant my stepdaughter, whose name is Summer :)

Neighbor came by last night and we sat in my kitchen. I unloaded all the cookie containers from 3 past Xmas seasons. Been meaning to send them 2 doors down, but instead they were taking up space. It's not that they were supposed to go back, just that I washed and saved them, as I'm a packrat. But turns out she can use them over again and that's good recycling.

Today I'm getting the bags out for my holiday. It would be so much easier if we drove my van. Plenty of space to drag along everything. But DD is driving and she doesn't want to drive it. She likes to drive little cars. So, we will be squished all the way to South Carolina.

Well today on my way home (thru the corn fields & small towns of LSD {lower - slower-Delaware} and MD) I saw Christmas lights on a few houses. I'm conflicted - obviously and most importantly it's not my business what folks do to decorate their houses. Less obviously and more curmudgeonly I'm feeling like Come On People! It's more than a week BEFORE Thanksgiving.

Soap Box descended...

Ended up having leftover chicken over salad and will have the fish tomorrow.

Today I had a good get - my husband likes a very particular type of Herrs pretzels that are hard to find. I found them in a hole in the wall place, and I bought all 5 bags ::yes:: so I was very popular when I got home with them! He just opened one of the bags haha-

Lynn - I'm glad the Dr. had positive things to say during your Dr. appt. Good news going into the Thanksgiving holiday must be a nice feeling!

Speaking of Thanksgiving - I have a QOTD for you all:

QOTD: Do you use a disposable roasting pan or a regular roasting pan for your Thanksgiving turkey?

Me - I use both. I usually cook for a fair bit of folks and for me I'm adamant about using real tableware and serving dishes, however I do treat myself to using a disposable pan for roasting the turkey. I do have a very nice quality roasting pan and rack but I don't use it often because it doesn't fit in any of my fridges AND it at least reduces the items to be hand washed by 1 item ....so what I do is use the nice pan as a support and put the disposable w/ the turkey in it and roast it that way.

The bed looks very comfy! I love a new and fresh bed!

Jardiance is one of my scripts. Right now I pay $80 for a 90 day supply. Last year it was $40. I've been on it for a few years now. There was one year that the plan wouldn't cover it and when I checked the price, it was almost $1300. So my doc switched me to a different med - Invokana. The next year, the plan wouldn't cover the Invokana and I got switched back to Jardiance, which was now covered. It's all a game.

In any case, the first year I took Jardiance, it was free from the drug company. My doc gave me the information and I called an 800 number to sign up. I had to fill out a little survey/questionaire and get approved but it was pretty simple. Last time I checked, it will be 2027 before they allow it to become produced in generic form.

Well today on my way home I saw Christmas lights on a few houses.
My DS has the inside of his house decorated and tree (artificial) up and decorated. Not sure why they did so early, but hey, if it makes them happy.

QOTD: Do you use a disposable roasting pan or a regular roasting pan for your Thanksgiving turkey?
We use a disposable and place it on a cookie sheet to move it. We have a nice roasting pan but it's a pain to clean. It was a hand me down from one of our mothers and I think we've used it once. We do use the nice china, nice glassware, etc.

QOTD---I use a regular roasting pan, and a Reynolds turkey cooking bag. Have always had good luck with those. I can remember when I was young. My great grandmother using one of those large electric roasting things. And for years before that, she would cook the turkey in the oven in a big brown grocery store paper bag!
