Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good afternoon.

After a gloomy start to the day, the sun is out now. We decided to go to Longwood this evening for the steel band in the beer garden and the illuminated fountain show with music. We were waiting until we saw what the weather was going to do before we got tickets.

DD is being affected by Henri in OBX. Not raining but too rough to go into the ocean and rip current warnings.

DD facetimed again this morning because Carter wanted to see Paisley. She did it for Tessa earlier in the week. They are all going to be glad to see each other on Sunday.

I saw a hummingbird on the feeder this morning. I love watching them.

Good morning all. I have had about 1/2 a summer cold for 2 weeks. I didn't cough all day yesterday but as soon as I went to bed last nite, I woke up coughing my head off an hour later. Took some tylenol over nite cough, but couldn't fall back asleep till after 2. Didn't help that Mr L had the tv on till after 3. Needless to say , I am going back to bed, and don't plan on doing much today. Will clean the bathrooms if I feel like it, strip and remake the bed, and do a beauty treatment. Grass needs mowing, but it's not getting done today. Amazing how just that one morning of rain made it green and shoot up again. The pic below is exactly how I feel this morning, lol!

Have a nice morning all

I am in NH near Mt Washington for the week. Nice ride up, no traffic and beautiful mountain views. It is warm here. This area is expecting hurricane remnants Mon eve into Tues. We go to Storyland Mon so hopefully any rain will be light. I was so concerned about bringing up stuff for the kids I forgot to pack deodorant. LOL. I texted younger DS and he is picking it up for us. The kids and grandkids will be up tomorrow for a few days. I forgot how relaxing it is here.

@lynxstch I hope you feel better soon. You have been so busy it is time for self care. I know it is easier said than done.

Happy Saturday

This thread has been very quiet today. I spent most of the day resting. Did change the sheets and wash the ones I took off, did dishes and fixed dinner..and that was about the extent of it. Not coughing much, but I bet as soon as I go to bed tonite, it starts. We are currently at 89 hot degrees with full sunshine. I just fed the cats and gave them cold water, so they are set for the nite.
Have a nice evening everyone

:hug:Snowysmom, have a wonderful and safe trip! I hope you also have a great time with your grandkids at Storyland.

:hug:to you as well, Lynn. Coughing is always worse horribly when lying down and in general at night. A sweet way to soothe a throat for me has always been Werther's Original Hard Candy. Cough drops are just so chemically and/or taste nasty. At least the Werther's are sweet :) Feel better, my friend.

Quiet day here as well.

Good evening everyone!

It's been as quiet around my house as it has been here. Lou Lou is in a phase that she will not go to sleep until I do so she's been in our bed the last couple of nights. I've tried placing her back in her bed once she's asleep but I wake up later and she is back in bed with us.

We had cheeseburger macaroni, succotash and sliced tomatoes for dinner last night. Tonight was Marcos pizza.

DD spent the afternoon with her now official boyfriend, Mike. He's back in rehab after a week and a half of Emergency ICU for the infection in the incision in his neck. The case worker came in while DD was there and she told Mike that as of right now he is scheduled to be in rehab for six to eight weeks.

Lil Joe had a good first week of kindergarten for the most part. There is a little boy in his class that is very disruptive. He has hit Lil Joe a couple of times and other kids also. He's thrown his desk over, caused other disruptions in the class. We're hoping that the boy will be taken out of the class soon. Don't know where he will go but we'd really like Lil Joe to stay in that class. DD likes the teacher and how she is teaching the kids.

Take care all of you in the hurricane's path!

I’m glad you made it up, knowing how much you love it there. :lovestruc It is so relaxing. It’ll be interesting to hear how you find it. DD was there this past week and she said a lot of the stores and restaurants closed early because they didn’t have help. 😕 I think the weekend was ok, but during the week, things kind of slowed down. She had a good time anyway, but it was unusual. Enjoy the quiet before the storm!

Aww, that makes it hard. My kids were always kind of middle of the road (not the smartest, nor the worst behaved, either) so I feel like sometimes they fell between the cracks. There were a few who were quite disruptive, too, which made it hard, especially during testing and such. I hope things start to settle down there.

Our governor has recommended that people stay home on Sunday due to probable flooding and power outages. So we’ll be hunkering down. Main worry is fencing blowing down here, but flooding and power outages are always a possibility, too. DS has to work but the rest of us will enjoy an excuse not to go anywhere.

Have a good rest of the night, everyone! 🐥

Good morning all. There is an almost full moon outside, but there is a huge ring around it which means rain, but there is no rain in our forecast? I hope y'all up in MA, CT, etc don't get the storm as bad as they say it will be,,that's scary!

Took tylenol overnite and went to bed at 10. Woke at 11, 1, and 3,,tv still on in the living room, lights on, volume on etc. Put the pillow over my head and went back to sleep till 4. Got up and he was sound asleep ,,I turned the tv off and lights off, he never moved. Fed the cats , got myself a drink of water , am going back to bed

Wanted to mow today, but its going to be near 90 for the next 4 days and I do not feel good enough to be out in the heat, so it's going to have to sit there and grow till it cools back down.

Stay safe everyone! Have a nice Sunday

Checking in. Just rainy and windy at the moment. Looks like my tomato plant fell over, but that's all the damage so far.

DS does not have to go to work, which I'm happy about! And one of his friends is hunkering down here with us (though I'm pretty sure both of them are still asleep. They were up late.)

I'm checking in, too :)

Much prayers for both Lil Joe and the other boy, Kirby. No child should ever be intentionally hurt or feel the need to hurt another. So heartbreaking. Sadly, I worked for a couple years with preschoolers attending the particular school because they were safer their than often they were at home. Some of them definitely felt safe enough at school to act out their home insecurity at school. trouble was this was not always in safe (for others) way. I know that can be a challenge!

Hug and stay safe, Pea! You and Toto enjoy a cozy stay at home day! :dog:

Continued prayers for you to feel better, Lynn, and for your DH always as well.

PollyannaMom, hug to you, too, and may all of you also enjoy a safe and relaxing Sunday at home.

All is quiet here. Looking forward to watching worship and then the checking out the DVD version of Miracles from Heaven. Will check back later.

Okay who took bets that I would end up mowing the lawn today anyhow? LOL! If any of you did,,then you win. I decided since it was only in the upper 70's to just go out and do it and be done with it for at least another week. I didn't cough or sneeze the entire time out there. Came in and took a claretin so I can breath a little better.

Sister in law and niece stopped by..then went to the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster PA to see Esther on Friday night..and spend yesterday at the huge farmers market and smorgasboard somewhere around there. She brought me a whole watermelon that they paid $1.99 for..a giant cantaloupe that was $1.50, a pkg of hydroponic butter lettuce for Mr L. , 3 cukes a basket of cherry tomatoes, and half a dozen of the prettiest bi color corn I have seen all season..corn was $1.99 a dozen! She wanted to give me a shoo fly pie, but I passed on that one. And she wouldn't let me pay her for any of it.

Dinner is going to be the rest of the hamburg gravy and mashed potatoes I made on Friday nite, with fresh tomatoes and corn

Have a nice afternoon everyone

Good afternoon.

Totally missed posting yesterday. We left mid-afternoon and drove to Annapolis to meet DS and DDIL for dinner. DS had a rare Saturday off so asked us to meet them. It was fairly crowded walking around but sunny. So many midshipman out in their white uniforms. We were right down at the dock near the Naval Academy. Had a lovely dinner and visit. DS had made a reservation and we went outside under a big tent.

Today was church which was pretty empty. I had placed flowers on the altar so got to bring them home to enjoy.

Today is also Paisley's last day here. Her "parents" are on the road home so we will take her down later. We enjoyed having here but also realized how simple life is without having to worry about a dog.

I also don't like all the Menthol cough drops, after one or two they upset my stomach. I like Halls Defense citrus vitamin C drops. They are basically a hard candy that is citrus flavored and give you vitamin C also.

I wonder if it was Shady Maple. I have never been there but want to go sometime.

All those in Henri's way, I hope you stay safe. My sister-in-law near Hartford CT just sent me a picture of the wind and rain.

Yes, it was Shady Maple. It was niece's bd so her meal was free, and SIL and BIL got 10% off their meal. It cost them $27 for the 3 of them , for Petes sake, you pay that at McD's and Subway for 3 meals, lol. They bought a lot more stuff at the farmers market and at the little General Store. She said you need a whole day just to walk around in there. Also said it wasn't very busy.

Took tylenol overnite and went to bed at 10.
I take the Kroger store brand of Arthritis Tylenol every night before I go to bed. My left leg has been paining me some depending on which way I lay. It's either my hip or my knee. Can't seem to figure it out. I'll talk to my PCP when I go to see her in a couple of weeks for my yearly exam.

I probably should have taken a bet. 😄 I take the Kroger store brand of Zyrtec every day. Ragweed must be popping out because my eyes have been itching the last couple of mornings. Seems like the last five years my allergies have gone to all year long.

a giant cantaloupe that was $1.50,
What a deal!!! Our cantaloupes are so small now and cost about $5 at our Farmers Market. It's my turn to be jealous!!!

I realized about 9:00 this morning that I feel really good. Didn't know that I had been feeling bad but I feel great! Maybe it's because I decided to go to Sunday School this morning. For whatever reason I am thankful for the way I feel, it's so nice I could run around the block but I won't. It's too dang hot out there!

We haven't gone to church for a couple of weeks because we are considered Covid Red. Our church has put the first worship service outside and we are asked to wear masks while inside. Most people complied, our class was a about a third of what we normally have. The kids have been promoted since school has begun so next week we will be staying for the indoor service also with Lil Joe and Lou Lou both being able to attend Cool Kids during the preaching part.

I have a question about co-parenting after divorce. I don't know if any of you have experience with this but wanted your thoughts. DD's ex has accused her of not co-parenting/acting in the best interests of the children on many occasions and with the motions that his attorney has filed against her, it has her bending over backwards for him.

We are taking a short trip (5 days) to Houston with her and the kids during her Fall break. She feels that she has to notify him of said trip. My attitude is why? How does that effect the kids for him to know? We're not leaving the state. He has taken Lil Joe on trips a couple of times over the last couple of summer visitations, even took him to South Carolina where he is living without telling her and not telling Carol his current address until last week. I don't want to do tit for tat but does telling him everything fall under co-parenting?

What do you think?
