Nothing going on here..weather is just light rain. I am getting more and more frustrated with our cable/isp company. For the last few days,,when you are watching something on ABC, FOX, CBS etc..the picture will start to get all scrambled, then a black screen says video unavailable. It will straighten out, and then do it again over and over. So I decide to call and find out what is going on. Call and get recordings with choices. Had them 'refresh the signal', it did nothing..60 minute wait to talk to someone. So I do an online chat. I was # 24..it took 1 1/2 hours to get down to #1. Then it says 'Kayla connected'..but for 15 min, noone says hello or types..I write..hello, is anyone there..and then she disconnects and shuts the chat? SO I reopened it and had to start all over again..I was # 25 20 min ago..now I am # 13. So I call the toll free number..put my phone on speaker,,and let it sit there and wait..said 80 min wait..now says 50. For the amount we pay every month..there is no excuse for making customers wait this long to get answers or solve problems. I am ready to tell them that I am going to be cutting the cord when our contract is up in Dec. Totally unacceptable. Can't call the local office, as all their offices are still closed due to covid. I may just try calling at 1 am and see if I can get a shorter wait then :( Good thing I didn't have anything to do this afternoon except take a nap, lol!

Cotton candy ice cream sounds delicious, Easyas! I love fresh spun (not prepackaged, yuck) cotton candy! I hope you enjoy all your ice cream treats! As I've said before locally made and fresh is always so much better than store bought!

Hug, Lynn, customer service 800 numbers just grow more frustrating don't they?

All I can say right now is how extra grateful I am to God! Received the most Blessed news about Dad. Thank you all for your prayers!

So much for heavy rain this afternoon..sun is coming out again, lol
I opened another online chat..left it just sitting there,,called the toll free # at the same time,,and let that sit on hold..just as I got down to #3 on the chat..an actual person answered at the cable company. He is going to send a tech out next Wed afternoon to check the lines and the signals. Says its odd that its only doing it on a few local channels..but not all..like we have 2 CBS stations..and it was doing it on one this morning, and the other was perfectly clear. He said if it's in the lines or their equiptment,,there is no charge..if it's something in our house causing it (yeah right..not possible), then there is a $50 charge. I said you can charge it,,but we won't pay it..not for the amount we pay every month for internet, cable, tivo, HD and phone! He laughed and said he was sure therre would be no charge. Now I have to hope that it does it at least once before then so I can tivo the show, and they can see on playback what it's doing. I still say it has to be a network issue with those 3 for some reason..as 99% of the time there is no issue with any other channels. So I wasted a total of 2 1/2 hours..just to be told we have to have a tech. But while I had him on the phone..I got the # of the retention dept..so I can call them directly in Dec to get a better deal on our bundle. I am not going through waiting an hour to talk to someone..and if you press the button for billing..the retention dept isn't a choice..lol

Dinner is going to be homemade garlic naan pizza's with salad. I am going to lay down and take a short nap
Have a nice afternoon--@flyingdumbo127--Mona,,thanks for the PM with the good news..all our prayers for your Dad worked!

I went to the library and picked up Blueberries for Sal. Also another kids book and one off new nonfiction shelf.

Today is the first day that both DH and I are without professional licenses, so really retired. No chance of going back to our professions. I think this is drink worthy.

We went out on the screen porch to watch the storm come through but when the lightning and thunder were happening simultaneously, we decided to come inside. I think there will be more tonight.

@easyas123, do you go to the Peach Festival in Middletown? We walked to it from DD's house one year. It was HOT that day.

Congratulations on your long and fruitful careers! 👏🏻 You deserve a rest!

I just posted this on Facebook and thought I'd share here too.

Would this bother anyone else? I am reading a book set in a town in South Carolina on the Atlantic Ocean. Husband and wife like to go to the beach to watch "as the sun lowers itself into the ocean."
When did the sun start setting in the east?
Yes, lol

Having trouble loading pictures. Will have to redo them from my phone later. It says the image is too large. visited my sister on the coastline in North Carolina, we went for a beautiful sunset boat ride. We also went to Trader Joe’s !!! I had never been to one before. The everything but the bagel seasoning is great on hard boiled eggs. the …..butter ( was it almond or cake or something) is yummy on apples and I enjoyed the Chomp sticks which were like beef jerky, but turkey instead. Lots more to post later, Off to take a walk. Enjoy your evenings

Wow - that must be a bittersweet moment. Congrats to you both on long & successful careers! That 100% is toast worthy! And I'll raise a glass in a bit on your behalf!

do you go to the Peach Festival in Middletown?

I have been - but it's been YEARS. years & years. Well, that Middletown traffic is fun as you know. In recent years I've gone to Godfreys Farm on the other side of Sudlersville. Worth a stop if you are headed to Camp P or Kent Island
I think it's www.godfreysfarm.com

yesyesyes!

Well, I missed the big storm for the most part but we got a nice, soaking rain and I think it's still raining a bit with -I believe - more to come tonight. Sun is trying to peek out, I'm sure the humidity has gone up a gazillion %. My husband saw a set of pie bald fawns two different times today not far from our farm. We know of a doe that has had twins for a few years, but they've never been white or part white. I wonder where they came from!? Hope to see them again.
Dinner tonight is a freezer smorgasbord of sorts (did I spell that wrong?). Wings, a few spring rolls, a few onion rings, tomatoes & zucchini .

Thank you, Lynn! Enjoy your pizza, my friend.

Hugs and much congratulations Carol and your official retirement! Here's to a healthy and bright new beginning for you and your DH :)

Quacker Family opinion please: I will be getting one of these colored paper rolls on Amazon. Pacon Paper Roll The three colors I like best are: sunshine yellow, pink (the lightest pink), and Nile Green). Bedroom has blinds on the one window. It gets more light than the rest of the apartment but is still dark! To me, the pink (I love light pink) has an almost grayish cast to it. The green and yellow in the pictures (I realize in real life they all may be lighter or darker than how they appear on Amazon). I really like the sunshine yellow. Of course, I do, right? I'm a Quacker! 🐥I can get for a border (and to hold up the paper, of course, too) a contrasting masking tape color in one of the three choices of paper I don't get. Which color paper gets your vote for what you think might be lightest and brightest? I am leaning a bit toward green because I think more wall decor would go with green than yellow...

Other question: I do want a new decorative cross to hang on the new wall one day. The current cross I have was given to me going on 10 years ago by someone not really in my life much any longer. It's lovely but to be honest, not my taste. I would prefer a new cross to be one piece. Current cross is two pieces and as such can be wobbly. Something simpler, more reverent and of course lighter and brighter, too so no squiqqly black! In fact, I'd prefer it not have black on it or metal really. I was given last year a special smaller cross by a dear friend that I have hanging by my wall calendar which means so much to me! I'd want this one to be about the size of the current one.

Hobby Lobby Cross This one is much smaller than I had in mind. Plus and maybe I am just picky!, the vertical "love" bugs me. I included it just so you could see the simpler floral style.

Christian Book Cross I wish this Cross did not have the outline of the smaller cross inside! To me that detracts.

Walmart Cross This is my favorite. It is more expensive than I had in mind. It's also not as simple as I had intended yet somehow it is! I know it may be meant for Easter. I give God great thanks every morning for His waking me up first and foremost and in right mind and health, ability to serve and love. Somehow to me it also meshes with my life's prayer to live simply and kindly with compassion and always in whatever way He may call me, be small Witness in light with joy. Every day JOY! No drama or pettiness welcome or needed lol.

LOL, I fully realize I am overthinking this. All of you mean so much to me and I absolutely thank God for bringing (and growing us closer) us together as a Quacker family in caring support and cheer, I'd appreciate your opinion. As a P.S. I wasn't finding anything on Amazon. If any of you do, please let me know! :)

I like the green because it is more calming and soothing to me, which would be goof for a bedroom.

I like the Christian Book Cross. I think with a color showing through the cutout it would be more set off than the white how it is shown.

Did you look at Cokesbury Book Store? It is Methodist but has a lot of things.

I’ve been a little down. We had a loss recently with funeral services this week. Not a lot to say about it other than it’s taking me a while to process it.
Hugs to you!

We're planning to begin streaming and get rid of our cable and landline in the near future. We use Suddenlink, not sure if you have that in your part of the country. It's our only option at the moment.

Congratulations! My DH will never retire, he will always work until he can't anymore. Me, I plan on retiring at 70.

It would definitely get a big "HUH" from me. Maybe it should have been worded differently, like watching the sunset colors over the ocean or something. What book are you reading?

DD took me to get a pedicure today, a late Mother's Day gift. Lou Lou went to and got her toenails painted pink and purple.

DD received word today that Lil Joe had been accepted into the Gifted and Talented program at her school. We are so excited!

DD made Taco Salad for dinner tonight.

Hugs and thank you to all for your opinions so far! I truly appreciate it and always each of you! I have decided green for the paper. I love how you said Carol that for a bedroom it looked calming. Very cool, you recently painted a wall green, too, Easyas. Pink has always been my very favorite color but in a way green has been a favorite color in a different way maybe longer. I also realized, took a while for my old brain to get it, but a sunshine-y yellow border of tape against the green should brighten and lighten the room up much more than a yellow wall with green tape would. I might get one pink roll so I'd have it if need be.

I have heard of Cokesbury, Carol. Church used to order Sunday school curriculum through that company that I would organize for each age level of kids. We sometimes also used them for camp supplies. I'll take a look. Good point I'll keep in mind about the Christian book cross, thank you. I am thinking the Walmart cross is too much both in coast and style. I just like the idea. I want as simple and as reverent as possible. I do prefer more square corners to rounded for a larger wall piece. Would prefer $15 and under for a price range. Keep the suggestions coming please! Thank you :)

Hugs to all of you for a happy night!

Just a quick “hello” to bump the thread for the night.
Prayers to all who are having a rough day or 2 or even 3.
We were spared from rain today and it looks like we will be dry for the holiday weekend, and HOT by Sunday. Not looking forward to that. No plans for the weekend so to speak, at least in the sense of celebrating the 4th.
