Late night (for me) one last check in and wave sweet dreams.

Thank you my friend Pea :), good or better light is the key around here which means outdoor pictures 95%+ of the time only. One thing I would love about a new apartment, God-willing, should Dad and I ever get to move pandemic, is a place with a ton much better (which shouldn’t be hard since sadly this apartment does not have much at all) natural light at all times! Pictures all came out A-okay. Might re-take one along with a few brand new ones later in the week.

Big hug Kirby :grouphug: and extra prayer and love, my friend. I honestly don’t see how your DD’s Ex not (and readily as second nature) sharing his address with her so she would have greater peace of mind on her son, would be an issue :( It should not be, that’s for sure! I pray she learns that truth ASAP and is then able to have contact with Lil Joe while he is at his dad’s. Very grateful you, your DD, and Lou Lou had a fun Saturday outing. All of you needed that! Good for you and your DH on cleaning and so glad you once again got to church! I pray you enjoyed.

Carol, that sounds like a lot of fun, I’m so glad, yay!

I shall check in with all of you dear friends and fellow Quackers in the morning :)

Good morning..another week is here,,the last week of June, already! Its a muggy 71 outside going to 90 again, so I won't be doing much outdoors today.

No plans on the agenda for inside yet either, and I really have nothing new to say, so will just say have a nice morning and will be back later to check in and read posts.

Have a nice day

I love the Pooh & Tigger graphic, but didn't even realize for a minute it was Monday. (And sometimes call them "anti-Mondays" in summer. :teeth: )

Anyway, I just popped in to say we had a safe drive yesterday. It was a bit longer traffic-wise than usual, as we were definitely not the only ones returning to travel! - Lots of other happy families out on the roads too. Clearly people are ready to get back to normal.

We also missed a turn-off (permit me a tiny whine here) because of Massachusetts having to change their exit numbers...which I think is an annoying waste of money, and probably could be a whole thread in itself.

But it was totally worth it to finally be with my family again!!!

I may be on a bit (especially in the mornings, as I'm an early bird even on vacation) but don't worry if I'm off line more than usual. Will try to post a few good lake pics, though.

That chocolate cake sure did look good Pea!

Ugh, just in a funk today, and I know once I get myself motivated and moving on the paperwork I've got to do I'll feel better for having done so. Just having a hard time getting myself started today I guess.

This morning before heading to the office I did manage to make time to water all of the flower pts & plants on the porch. After work I'll hook the tank back up and water the trees, that chore will take me a bit longer now as we've gone from 35 trees/shrubs to about 130 trees/shrubs all in the same line. We did procure a larger water tank, so I may only need to fill up 2 or 3 times. I can't wait to see what the tree line looks like next year!

Back to work for me!

We are already at 90 and it feels like 97,,so if it gets warmer this afternoon, it may feel like 100 :( Just checked the garden, all looks good, but it needs more rain.

I just got a pkg that was mailed to me on 5/28, so it took exactly a month to arrive. I asked the seller if they wanted me to refuse it and have it returned to them, since they already sent me a replacement,,they told me to just keep it. They used DHL..and my guess is they will stop using them,,as their service is terrible. The second set was sent through the USPS.

I also called the cardiologist office this morning. On hubby's last visit, which was 6/16, I called when we got home after reading all the paperwork and seeing he wanted labwork done, and asked why we weren't give the labwork orders while we were there. The nurse said she would mail them the next day. I called this morning, and she says 'oops, I will put them in the mail for you today'..so noone can do their work right, including Drs offices now? I get so tired of having to follow up on everything.

Like you @easyas123, I think I am just in a funk. It's too hot outside to do anything..I don't feel like cleaning, or painting or putting up new blinds inside, so I just sit there staring at the tv.

So far all of the new meds are working for hubby with no issues,,the swelling in his ankles and feet has also gone down considerably, making it easier for him to walk around. He keeps telling me as soon as these meds kick in and we know they are working,,he's going to try and do some exercising so we can get out and do something. I hope he sticks to that!

@flyingdumbo127--you said you were taking more pictures,,does that mean you are actually leaving the house and rejoining the 'normal' world again out there in CA? I hope so!

Forgot to add..its actually peaceful outside..the cicada's are G O N E --(and will not be missed!)

Stay cool everyone..

Some days are hard to get going. Bugs and humidity don't help!

Lynn, I wish! I meant Dad and I were re-taking photos near our building. Out here, it sounds like some stores no longer have signs saying masks are required but Dad has shared most people are still wearing them. The newest variant seems to have spread more out here so, I stay safely hunkered down. I am so keeping in prayer, God-willing, within the next month or two I will be able to if nothing else at least get a haircut : )

Very thankful this morning and waiting for an Amazon delivery.

Good afternoon (and still morning to you, AuntieMe3) hugs to all.

Happy Monday all. I'm back...I am exhausted but my mom's celebration was wonderful. It was HOT, HOT, HOT, so I'm so thankful for all the people(there were a lot of people) who joined us in spite of the heat. To have met my mom was to love my mom and everyone wanted to come and share that love with us. I had soo much help from my amazing friends and some family too, we couldn't have done it without their help. Everything was perfect and my mom would've loved it....now I can relax. Ahhhhh....
Thought I'd share one of the centerpieces we had on the tables.

I've missed a few days and a couple pages so I'm not going to go back to read but just start fresh.

I hope all is well with everyone. Enjoy the rest of your day. :grouphug:

That's great :D I'm glad - especially after hearing some of the stories - we ended up seemingly unaffected seemingly due to a few miles. I'll tell you what I have noticed in the past 24 hours. Geez, I hate to even type it out. Japanese Beetles.

We rarely get Japanese Beetles here, isn't that weird that some places do and some don't? I have noticed that the bees have started reappearing since the cicada's are gone, I guess that means the stink bugs will be making an appearance again soon too.

Good afternoon.

Back from the accountant. On our personal taxes, we get a small refund. Thankfully no money due to IRS so no penalty. MIL's estate and DH's business taxes also done. Glad that is behind us.

.the cicada's are G O N E --(and will not be missed!)
I kind of miss them. I was intrigued by them and went out every day to check what stage they were in. And I didn't mind the sound. I thought it was cool. And Tessa was really interested in them too.

Now I am seeing nymph spotted lantern flies around. They are a bad and invasive species so need to kill them when possible.
the centerpieces we had on the tables.
They were very creative and pretty. Glad you had a nice celebration of life.

Off to dance lesson soon.

I hope that it won't be long before you feel comfortable enough to get a a little. I heard on the radio this morning that Hong Kong has banned all travelers from England unless they have had the vaccine/negative test in the last three days before travel. And cases are rising in the Soviet Union again. On a good note, cases for a whole are down in this country, 99% of Covid deaths are non vaccinated people. Heard that on the radio too.

@AuntieMe3 What beautiful centerpieces. It sounds like you had a loving celebration of your mother's life.

@Pea-n-Me I love the food pictures. Always like to see Disney food pics. We ate breakfast and a couple of other meals at Roaring Fork. For quick service we found the food very good. The service was always pleasant. Glad you had a good trip.

We went to youngest DGS 3rd birthday party yesterday. It was so hot but we tried to find some shade. The ice cream truck came first and we all indulged in some decadent ice cream. Then the petting zoo and pony came. The kids loved riding the little pony. My oldest DGD loved the bunnies and ducklings. She was so careful and gentle. Even youngest DGD was careful and patted them very gently. Then we had pizza and cupcakes. It was so hot I really didn't want to eat much except the tasty ice cream. Yum! We got DGS a remote control front loader truck toy. It is geared for preschoolers so it is easy to use. It is his favorite toy now. We also got him some books and clothes. I am still tired today after being in the heat and on my feet for over 4 hours yesterday afternoon. It is easier for the youngsters. LOL!

It is hotter today then yesterday. Jasper got a quick, early walk and then in the house for the rest of the day. He is definitely slowing down more. I can see the change over the past few months. He is still interested in everything, he just needs more time to get places and naps more. Tough to get old even for doggies.'

Stay cool and have a nice evening.

Just a little evening bump.

Went outside to fill the birdbath and squirrel feeder. And neighbor is on vacation and said to go pick zucchini, so I did. Still 86 bur pleasant out.

Dinner was an easy one, spaghetti sauce on elbow noodles and left over zucchini.

Finished one jigsaw puzzle yesterday so started a new one today.

Did some shoe shopping today. Then grocery shopping. Toto was groomed, too, he looks cute and was a good boy.

I somehow managed to lose a couple of pounds on vacation. Must‘ve been all that deprivation! :P

Glad people enjoyed the food pictures! I still have a lot of things to put away. I must be losing it, I found a shirt in a bag and no one owned up to buying it for me. I remember looking at it at every gift shop, but I don’t remember actually making the purchase! 🧐 Oh well, glad it’s home with me, lol.

Tonight we made grilled chicken with BBQ sauce, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes and a Caprese salad with fresh basil from our garden. It was so good!

I forgot to mention before. I bought a Disney water flask for myself. When I got it home, I noticed there were two price labels on it, one neatly right on top of the other (so meant to be that way). I peeled the first one off, and the one below it was $5 cheaper! Not sure when the prices went up, but that’s quite a jump from $22.99 to $27.99! 😮 DH said he thought they should have at least taken the old price tag off! (I had to curl the top one over to show them in one picture.)

Good morning all. Wow, it's very muggy outside, and 70 degrees. Going to be near 90 or above again today. Too miserable to do anything outside for sure. Fed and watered the cats, and the birds, checked the garden and the tomatoes are all flowering nicely. We might have had about 15 min of very light rain, not sure it was even enough to thoroughly wet anything, but it will have to do for now. I need to mow, but I just cannot do it in this heat anymore. I feel so sorry for anyone who has to work outside in this, like construction workers and mail carriers. Our carrier was miserable yesterday. I bought her out a bottle of ice cold water. She has to drive her route, and those trucks have no ac. She was very grateful. She said a few customers do that for her and it makes her so thankful.

I guess I will do some indoor cleaning while it's too hot outside to do anything. Also have to make grocery and errand list for tomorrow, that will be the extent of my chores.

Have a nice morning, stay cool if are in this heatwave, be grateful if you aren't!
