That's our neighbors veggies. They have a huge garden and are out of town this week so we get to have whatever is ready to pick. I just have a small raised bed with tomato plants. It will be awhile before our tomatoes are ready. Hope you figure out what ate on your plants.

Stopped by a farm stand that had a lot of veggie plants. Picked up 4 Red Deuce ones to replace mine. Guy there said it's sparrows eating the tops off of them..he's had a lot of people complaining about it. This is the first time in 17 years I have ever heard of birds eating the plants. One of my plants,,it left only the bottom of the stem :( I am off to put the other 4 in to replace the 3 and will have an extra one just in case.

Spoke to someone by chat this time and have FINALLY accessed my account. It shouldn't be this hard.

That is nice. I don't think it works to Sanibel though because that is LeeWay.

yeah, probably! I didn't pay as much attention going over that bridge last time! I just know we went thru plenty of SunPass tolls between Jacksonville -Orlando-Ft. Myers-Tamp -Jacksonville last month...can't wait for those toll notices to start rolling in!

Its half sunny, half cloudy , temp is 74 but feels muggy to me. I am about to put close up the windows and put the ac on. Did errands, grocery shopping, got gas (needed a whole 4 gallons after a month, lol), and stopped and picked up subs at the Italian place. I got a cheeseburger one, hubby got Italian. 1/2 for lunch, 1/2 for dinner. My back is aching and I don't want to cook. Aldi's was almost empty this morning and even Walmart wasn't that busy. We weren't home 15 min when someone knocked at the door. Through the window I could see a guy with a shirt on with the name of the oxygen co on it. I opened the door, and he said 'I'm just here to swap the portable oxygen concentrator out, his brand new one came in. So he came in and swapped them out, I backed the car out of the way so he didn't have to try and back that big truck out onto our main road. So now hubby has a brand new one..it weighs the same,,but is wider instead of taller. Only time will tell if he likes it or not. I am off to plant the new tomato plants I got to replace the ones the sparrows ate. Have a nice afternoon

Finally! I hope you never have EZpass trouble like this again, Carol.

Lynn, you take care, my friend. I'm sorry about the birds :( I hope the new tank will work well for your DH.

Glad you got to enjoy an outdoor lunch, Easyas.

Still grayish here, with a dash of sun. We did get super early Sparkletts delivery this morning. Blessed to have a real nice deliveryman who always brings the bottles right inside for us. Expecting one package today that has yet to arrive. Tomorrow more packages (early items for Dad, some to save for Father's Day) starting to come. I just pray the shoes that Dad ordered for himself will work out well for him when they come by Friday. He's been going through cheap-y from the 99 cent only store callus cushions because his current shoe choices no longer cut it!

Funny question to ask. Do any of you have a pup who does a happy dance (gets super excited) when popcorn is being made? My Champ sure used to! I need a picture of a dog excited for popcorn for a story I'm writing. Since I know a lot of you have dog friends, good place to ask. PM me the picture if you have one and I'll give you more info on how it would be used. Thank you :dog2:

Have a good afternoon everyone!

It is HOT today. DD usually gets to come home for lunch but today she had to stay in the office so I took her something to eat and it was 104° out. Yuck. I was looking forward to it getting warmer, I just didn't want it to be this warm already.... :p

I have so much I need(and want) to do but it's like too much and I feel overwhelmed so I'm just sitting on the couch instead of doing anything at all. :sad2: I'm going to start going through some paperwork so I can do it while sitting to see if it motivates me to get busy with other stuff....probably not but at least I'll get something done.

QOTD: What's your favorite zoo animal?
I really like elephants but I don't like seeing them in zoos, they always look sad to me. I loved when we used to go to the Wild Animal Park in San Diego, where they had some of the animals roaming around a giant open area and you rode in a tram around the perimeter, things like zebras, rhinos, giraffe, antelope. They still have other animals in regular zoo like enclosures but my favorite area is the "safari tram"....I guess that's what they have at animal kingdom at DW but I've never been so Im not 100% sure of its the same or not.

Not for popcorn being made, although I do have a dog that can hear a bag of chips being opened from a mile away! Funny you should ask...I had a cat once who LOVED popcorn! He was a giant porch / barn cat that hung out with the old man on the porch on occasion ...those occasions mostly being dinner time! He would dive head first into a bowl of popcorn. His name was Big Kitty (weren't we original!), I'll have to see if I can dig up any old photos of him. Geez, I'm thinking that was at least 25+ years ago. I haven't thought of that cat in a long time- He was the only cat I ever had, or should I say the only one that wasn't feral and interacted with people.

Good Evening everyone.

Been a busy couple of days. Picked up food boxes from our old distribution site yesterday. Of course the pick up time and a ton of traffic made it impossible to get the boys after school. Thankfully I was able to reach my grandson and they walked home.

Today I had the boys to get ready for school and of course they were very late. Anthony hurt his leg at baseball practice yesterday, there is some question as to how but he said he felt a pop. It was his lower calf so I am hoping he didn't damage a tendon or ligament. I was able to get them today as I made sure I kept the afternoon free. After I got the boys to school my husband had an appointment to get fitted for his new shoes. Because of his diabetes and the reconstructive surgery he had 4 years ago he needs to have custom molded shoes. He hates them but it is what has to be to avoid more issues and ulcers. We got the laundry done at the same time. After I got the boys I went crazy in the kitchen.

I have 6 lbs of onions sauteed and in a container in the fridge. They were left from a couple of the boxes we give out and I didn't want to see them wasted. Not sure what I will do with the onions but I can add them to things as I cook. I also bought 10 lbs of ground meat over the weekend so I made 5 lbs of hamburgers and 5 one pound packages of loose meat. Four ears of corn were sliced off the ears and frozen and I have half a watermelon cubed and the other half wrapped in the fridge to replenish the bowl of the pieces. I did take advantage of all this though and we had burgers with the remaining 2 ears of corn and some of the onions on the burgers. Dessert will be watermelon. I am loving my new fridge.

I am just relaxing tonight, I am tired!

QOTD - Until this past year I had a membership to the Philadelphia Zoo. There are still to many areas closed off because of Covid and the price went up so I didn't renew yet. My favorite animals are the Gorillas. I can spend hours watching them. When my son was little he had to write some compositions over the summer and one was on the gorillas. He compared them to humans and said the mom is the one who handles the babies while dad just lays back and picks his feet. Sadly that winter the gorillas and quite a few of the other primates were killed in a fire on Christmas Eve. My other favorites are the Big Cats. If you ever see a Tiger rubbing up against the bars and moving back and forth - RUN! We were lucky and did not get hit by Tiger urine but the people who took our spot were not happy. It wasn't a pleasant odor for sure.

I know zoos aren't always popular but I look at it this way. Some species of animals in the wild are/were close to extinction but the zoos have helped with this. It's not a perfect solution but it helps.

Have a good night everyone

Wow, AuntieMe3 to 104! That is HOT all right :sunny:I will be thrilled for 84! :) Sometimes the hardest part of paperwork is indeed getting started. Hug to you, my friend, take it one step at a time.

Love your popcorn loving cat, Easyas. Definitely would love to see a picture. :) to your dog loving chips. I think Champ's favorite human foods besides popcorn were Golden Grahams and Graham Crackers, scrambled eggs and bacon. He also just loved any food :dog2:

Hugs, Taz Dev and prayers for Anthony along with your DH--I hope his new shoes work out.

:) Usnuzuloose, I'm glad. Enjoy your dinner.

Still no mail (of any kind) of deliveries here, maybe later. Quiet afternoon which is nice. I just so hope Dad will like this early Father's Day surprise (the one I will give him early) when it comes.

Today was another beautiful day! Rain was coming but it fizzled out as it crossed the metroplex to us.

DD got an email that caused a lot of stress today. Her ex husband is filing for custody of the kids, that they are in a harmful environment. It's unbelievable the lengths he is going to in his statement to prove that she is not taking care of the kids. He says they are not getting proper medical and dental care. That's just a start. They actually have been very healthy this last year because of the pandemic and haven't needed to visit the doctor. And they are going to the dentist twice a year. There is so much more, that's just the easy stuff. And since DD and the kids live with us, the ex is bringing our home based business and DH in question. This will play out over the next couple of months. We could definitely use your prayers.

Dinner tonight was Raising Canes. I decided I couldn't deal with cooking and needed some comfort food.

Good muggy morning all. The rain lasted a long time, and it's stopped now, but left the air very muggy. Temp stayed at almost 70 all night, and will go to 76 later. Then the heat wave will start and be in the 90's.

@tazdev3225--with all those onions my hubby would have said ..'make me a big pot of onion soup', lol!

@Kirby--so sorry your daughter is going through that. Sending prayers that they can resolve things without much more stress,,her ex sounds like a real winner--NOT!

Looks like I might have lost another tomato plant last nite, but was hard to tell without going in the garden, and it was too wet to do that yet this morning, I was looking with a flashlight, lol!

Have a nice morning all--no big plans for the day here,,might take a trip to buy a few more tomato plants, just in case, lol!

Good morning.

Not sure why I am waking up earlier these days. Not too early but earlier. Maybe the sun coming up.

Today's plan is to mow the grass if it's not too wet. Then I have a pedicure appointment this afternoon and want to stop at the library.

@Kirby, what a mess with DD and her ex. Will definitely keep cool heads all around in my prayers.

@lynxstch, it keeps amazing me that your temps are warmer than ours. I always thought Western Maryland was cooler.

QOTD: What is your favorite game or sport (to watch or play)?
I don't watch a lot of sports but would probably have to say University of Maryland football. If we are talking some of the TV games, I like Holey Moley, Tough as Nails, and American Ninja Warrior.

No we are usually warmer. Usually when it's 90 here and I ask stepson what it is in Salisbury or OC he tells me at least 5-10 degrees cooler. It was 75 here on Monday when they left to go home, but it was only in the 50's there.
