Those tacos looked good!

Things are looking up a little so I'm feeling better today. If you don't mind to keep her in your thoughts and prayers, I'd really appreciate it. ❤

You got it - I hope things continue to go in a positive direction.

Well Disney is booked

Nice! I'm looking & checking & watching & plotting! Circumstances being what they are we are planning on a pit stop at Disney Springs one afternoon & evening next month on our way thru the area- however we are plotting a proper trip there one of these days.

Done my day of running around to meetings and jobsites. Saw the Boy doing his thing at one of our sites, on the crane. I think he was born operating heavy equipment...looking forward to chilling out this evening.

Turkey burgers w/ fries. Another culinary masterpiece tonight by yours truly!

@tazdev3225- Laurie, I'm so glad to hear you booked a Disney trip (wish we all could!). So, did your hubby pick a pool view room or a non pool view room? lol! It will do you both good to get away, and give you something to look forward to!
Have a nice afternoon everyone!

We chose the non pool view figuring it could be a little quieter. He balked at going but my daughter convinced me to tell him he is going and there is no discussion. Now it will be 7 months of "you can't go on those rides, why not?" discussions. I will get his cardiologist to give his input especially since his echocardiogram shows some issues.

Do it. I figure by December things should be better than now. I just want to enjoy the Christmas decor more than anything.

Enjoy your own dinner and downtime, Lynn! our floors are quite interesting! in the bathroom, parts are coming up (cheap linoleum) and in the kitchen the floors are not even! Also cheap linoleum. Here in the city, flooring is supposed to be updated along with painting/window treatments every so many years in apartments. There used to be old nasty carpet wall to wall pretty much (except the uneven kitchen floors) in this apartment. Finally about 7 years ago, Dad put in a request to the owner to get it updated or better replaced with healthier and easier to clean laminate. Long story short is even with city hall on his side (because again this is a known city policy) Dad ended up having to pay for at least half of the laminate flooring in our living room and back bedroom. They are a humungous improvement over the carpet that is for sure! In parts they are wearing/missing in places now. I hear you on being excited for better flooring :)

Enjoy your dinner, Easyas! I think a lot of guys are simply fascianted by machinery! Good for your son! :)

Taz Dev, I would love to see DL decorated for Christmas again post plague and get to view Candlelight with some of you friends on here!

That's a great picture, Carol, thanks for sharing🐎

I enjoyed so much seeing an old friend for brief visit! We were able to stand many feet apart (she is able to wear a mask) and talk. Blessing indeed!

It's just after 2 here and sure feels later!

Wishing all of you a lovely evening.

appliances - we have been in our house almost 16 years, I am now on my 3rd dishwasher, 2nd fridge. Meanwhile, the tiny microwave that barely fits a dinner plate from my husband’s first apartment is still going strong after 23 years!! The lawnmower also still works after 16 years, so he just says I’m hard on appliances.
We've been in our house for almost 25 years. So far we have had to put in 5 garage door openers and 4 dishwashers. And we've had four washer/dryers and two refridgerators. But our oven/stove is 25 years old!!!!

Good morning everyone....I've been missing a few days. Have had a tough week(yikes I don't even think it's been a whole week), my mom was transferred from her rehab to the hospital for a bad infection they can't get rid of. Hopefully what they are doing will help, it was kinda iffy for a day or two so I've been emotional exhausted. I tried to post but would get too worked up and just moved on to something else. Things are looking up a little so I'm feeling better today. If you don't mind to keep her in your thoughts and prayers, I'd really appreciate it. ❤
 Prayers lifted.

Been having a nice get away. Lots of seafood and outdoor time. Will post more later but wanted to share a picture of the Chincoteague ponies. We got lucky and saw about 16 together, some were babies.

Definitely on my bucket list now!

The storms passed us by last night for the most part. All we got was rain which we really need. On the other side of Ft. Worth they had golf ball size hail. We got a chance of rain tonight and through to Sunday. The wind is really gusting out there right now.

Prayers for everyone who is not feeling well mentally or physically. I hope everyone feels better soon.

Jasper just had his blood pressure recheck. Good new is his blood pressure is way down. Bad news is his kidney values went up slightly. The doctor said that can happen when trying new meds. Now his BP med has been cut in half and he goes for another recheck the week after we get back from Disney. I did tell the tech I talked with that I really don't want to go down a long road of trying this that and the other thing. I want quality of life for Jasper. Plus it does get expensive and when you are looking at an old dog you can find 20 things wrong with him. I will do what we can for Jasper but I won't have him be on a doctor go round for the rest of his life. He needs to live a good quality life of leisure and calmness and being home.

It is rainy and cool here today. This weekend will be warmer and better weather. Older DGD started soccer last weekend. She enjoyed it and knew some of the kids. The other grandkids are doing well playing and having fun.

Have a nice evening.

I hear you about Jasper, @Snowysmom. But chances are it won’t take much to get that straightened out. When the BP goes down, flow to the kidneys can also go down a little bit and cause hypoperfusion, so that can happen. Next time it will probably be just right. 🙏🏻 Hopefully.

DH (who is a professional baker) looked over the cake recipe while we were waiting for our dinner to come tonight (out at a restaurant). He said it looked really good, and not too, too complicated. He said you could cheat and use box lemon cake mix for the top and bottoms layers if you wanted to make life a little easier, but that the cheesecake and frosting parts weren’t too bad! Fwiw!

That's very cool you've lived in your house for 25 years, Kirby! Be careful of your oven/stove as those things don't last forever. Yikes, to the hail! Stay safe and cozy inside.

Hugs, Snowysmom and as always thank you for being such a wonderful friend to Jasper! His quality of life is exactly what matters1 You are making sure he has that. I am so sorry he is still having health trials. I pray it brings you peace to know you are doing all you can to provide Jasper peace.

How cool your DH is a baker, Pea! He must make some tasty treats :)

QOTD: DO YOU have any May the 4th ? May the force (be with you)/star wars. Or Cinco de Mayo. ( May the 5th). Traditions ??

i’m not sure , but i think the May the 4th is a somewhat newwer celebration. My family all have several Star Wars shirts, so we are sure to wear one that day. No big plans on the 5th with work and sports practices, but an occasional margarita and some shrimp tacos sound delicious !!

Christmas at Disneyworld is fun. By Nov. 5th they have Magic Kingdom decorated and start the Christmas parties. ( haven’t heard for this year yet). Then the next 2 weeks they slowly decorate the other parks and then the resorts. The Deluxe resorts are on a lottery system each year for getting decorated. For example, Wilderness Lodge wasn’t decorated until the Tuesday of thanksgiving week one year and the next it was an entire week before that. They have a huge , gorgeous tree . Yacht club had a carousel made out of horses and gingerbread.
Then the day after thanksgiving , Epcot starts their candlelight processional and Christmas music can be heard everywhere. Most people have Christmas attire too. It’s a fun time to visit

Question of the day: DO YOU have any May the 4th ? May the force (be with you)/star wars. Or Cinco de Mayo. ( May the 5th). Traditions ??

Well, May 5th is my mom's birthday, so... yes. But the traditions don't have anything to do with Cinco de Mayo. And May the 4th is my high school journalism teacher's birthday. He's a HUGE Star Wars fan, so it's super easy to remember his birthday. But other than telling him happy birthday (and him telling me he owes me a treat, thanks to a publications room tradition) I don't really have any traditions for May 4th either. So.... yes and no? Associations, but not traditions?

HEY FOLKS...just wanted to let you know that your approval rating just went up as indicators of what is good about this thread. Thank you for putting up with me.

We aren't 'putting up with you'.,,if you post on this thread , then you are part of the DIS/QUACK family! We are all here to put up with each other! That's what Tina (@lovemygoofy) started this thread for in the first place. Speaking of which, I hope she's doing well, and will be back soon to update us on her trip and how Matt's Mom is doing! We miss you Tina!

So good to see new shares :)

Sparkle, the carousel sounds awesome! Do you (or anyone else) have a picture? How fun. Now I extra want to get back to DL at Christmastime. Thank you also for asking a QOTD. My answer=Lynn's answer. I'm not into Star Wars but am glad for those of you who do enjoy it. I have thought one year it would be fun to kick off May on the 1st by going to DL ::MickeyMo

May is my birthday month also, Allison though on a different day than your mom's. Happy birthday upcoming to her and your teacher, as well.

Hug, Chickapin parterre, I echo what Lynn said. we're glad you joined us!

No traditions but the Rockwall Farmers Market always begins on the first Saturday in May which DD and I always try to attend. The whole town square is filled with booths and expands into some side streets. That's only on the first Saturday though, then every Saturday through August it's much smaller.
