Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

So glad to hear everythings back to normal. I was "hijacked" several years ago. Took my computer in and it was taken care of in no time. I did not pay the "ransom". Now I'm much more careful in my dealings on the web but you never know when you'll get hacked.

Hope everyone had a good Easter! I went to church for the first time in over a year. Our Easter service was held outside on the back lawn. We brought our lawn chairs and set socially distanced. It was so good to be there with my church family. For the rest of April through Mother's Day we are having an outside service. Then on Mother's Day we will be back to two indoor services. The first one will be masks on all the time and social distancing in the auditorium. The second service will be masks worn into the building but once you are in the auditorium you can take them off and sit where you want. DH and I will probably go to the first service. It's the one we attended anyway before the pandemic hit.

After an Easter lunch of ribs, potato salad, baked beans, baked yellow squash and deviled eggs, DH and I spent the afternoon planting all of the flowers/bushes that we had purchased on Saturday. It was so nice outside. Lou Lou had a good time helping us dig and water. She is DH's shadow right now. I was so sore this morning but it's a good soreness from yesterday.

Lil Joe was with his dad over the weekend so we held off on the Easter bunny stuff until last night/this morning. Last night the kids planted jelly beans in the flower pots last night. Low and behold Tootsie Pops grew overnight. Lil Joe and Lou Lou were so excited! The Easter bunny left them a nice basket with goodies supplemented by a Russell Stover chocolate bunny and a book each. Then they found Easter eggs out in the back yard full of goodies thanks to the Easter bunny.

Carol is doing much better but is finding out quickly that it's real easy to overdo things. She is getting tired of laying around but it doesn't take long for her abdomen to let her know to take a break.

Dinner was supposed to be lasagna but I changed it to spaghetti, broccoli and rolls. After dinner DD, the kids and I planted tomato plants in our raised bed. Looking forward to some fresh tomatoes one day.

Thanks, Easyas. Prayers and hug to you, my friend. Get some rest and take care.

So happy you had a good Easter, Kirby. Glad Carol is doing better. Not overdoing it is indeed so important. continued prayer for her. That's also great you got to go to church yesterday and had grandkid fun today :)

I wish all of you a good evening!

Good morning QUACK'ers!~~~

Bottom of page 1--not allowed, even after a site hijacking! It's so mild out at 55, and going to be near 80 today. Rained a little overnite, but I hope it wasn't enough to soak the garden area. I want to get the first tilling done today.

@Kirby, I know what you mean about a 'good soreness'. I have been that way for 3 days. But at least I am getting most of the 'to do before Summer' stuff X'd off my list! I am not too bad this morning, though I did sleep until 4:25 instead of 4 am, lol!

@easyas123--sorry you were having a 'downer day', but we all have them sometimes. Hope today is better for you!

Have a nice morning all--now I can go back to putting morning pics on here. Yesterday was the first time in over a year that I wasn't able too,,since there was no thread to put them on! :( So today you get 2 of them, lol!

Good morning.

I haven't here since Saturday and am confused about the day of the week. I thought I posted here Easter morning with pictures but don't see them now.

I went to church for the first time in over a year. Our Easter service was held outside on the back lawn. We brought our lawn chairs and set socially distanced. It was so good to be there with my church family.
The same for us except we are on Main Street in Newark, DE, a college town, so ours was held on the parking lot. Socially distanced, bring your own chair, masked, but we could sing. It was so wonderful to see my church family. The next service, first indoor, we will attend will be April 25 when Carter is baptized.

Mid-day Easter. DH and I went to Fair Hill for a hike on a beautiful day. Then DS and his wife arrived and we had dinner of ham, mac and cheese, roasted broccoli, asparagus, and chocolate cake.

Monday DS and DDIL found a food truck for waffles for breakfast but we opted not to join them. Then it was my brother-in-law's very small funeral. Same pastor who did mother-in-law's funeral in August. I feel for my sister-in-law who lost both her mother and husband in less than a year.

Later in the beautiful day DS. DDIL, DH, and I went for a short walk in Fair Hill to check out mother goose sitting on her nest. Then tried a new restaurant, Unwined on the Water for dinner. Good food, outside on the Elk River. We will be back. After that everyone went home. I was tired and slept until 8 this morning. after being awake for an hour in the middle of the night.

Not sure what today holds.

I read all the previous posts but too many to comment on. One thing I do want to do is gather some of your emails. Being offline yesterday made me panic that I would lose touch with you all. Maybe we can start another group conversation and share addresses.

Good Morning Quacker friends,

I am so glad to find these boards up and running this morning :)

Thank you for the double pictures of cheer Lynn, the duck is so cute! I appreciate your daily good morning images so much.

So glad you also got to go to church on Easter Carol and sing! Singing praise on Easter morning is (for me, anyway) extra joyous. Continued prayer to your SIL. I think that's a great idea to start a group PM where anyone comfortable shares their email address so that should we have another outage we can still be in touch. All of you are so important to me.

I found myself missing this quite a bit today also.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. I got to see LJ and 6 of my grandkids on Saturday so it was truly a great Easter.

Better they are working on the dishwasher as I type.
Yes, and with the virus long silences in recent months have been quite a feature, haven't they? (When there are long silences I think reading a book like the Bible is good.)

Some ppl do find the silences hard to get used to, I know. A pity the system crashed on the site.

I thought I posted here Easter morning with pictures but don't see them now
I also posted Easter morning but it's gone to...maybe part of the hack.

Good morning everyone. If you could please send some prayers and good healthy thoughts, getting ready to take Bingo to our vet to get another blood check, really hoping the numbers went up again. Things have been iffy the last few days but last might he seems to be perking up, getting back to his usual self....was even bugging me to feed him and then yelled at me when it was time for bed, so I'm hoping that a good sign.

I'll be back later. :grouphug:

@flyingdumbo127---Mona--just sent you an email..as the boards said 'page cannot be displayed again'..now it's working 2 minutes later..wonder if there are still glitches in the system

@AuntieMe3--prayers for Bingo that he is indeed perking up!

I have taken hoses out, hooked up water, put birdbaths out. Got the tiller out, went and got gas, swept the shed, and gathered trash for tomorrow. The garden has been tilled on deepest setting 2x..and my arms have had it. Laundry is also done..and I think I may be done for the day.
Have a good one..it's a gorgeous 75 here already!

Hi friends,

I too, am really sore from working in the yard. I am really out of shape this year after all the medical issues we have had.
Got up this morning and went to vote, then came home and went outside to do some more work. We raked for about 30 minutes, came inside, when it started raining. Then it started hailing, and I ran outside to put the car in the garage, man, that hurt:eek:

I kind of doubt we will get outside again today so I guess I will have no excuse , and will have to write a letter that I have been putting off

I know the feeling; some of us can rake or use a shovel for only a couple of minutes at a time...

Then tried a new restaurant

Oh my, they had me at Unwine Wellington and the list of Martini's...you know I don't usually go farther up than Chesapeake Inn (although eldest son has been raving about a place up there they go to -Steak & Main - and we've been meaning to try it) but that looks worth a drive!

getting ready to take Bingo to our vet

aww...good luck to you, and him. My parents last dog was named Bingo!

What a nice day! I spent all of it so far in a car or at a WWTP so didn't enjoy as much of it as I hoped - but I'm back in the office now and hope to get outside (ahem, and in fresh air) in about 90 minutes.

Good thoughts for Bingo. Hope he does well.

It is a nice warm day here, around 62. Great weather for a walk. Jasper really loves the Spring. He seems a bit more jaunty on his walk. He sees the specialist next week for a check up for his chronic bronchitis and a look over for his bit high kidney values. He can't eat the kidney special diet food as it gives him digestive issues. As his vet said, better he eats what works than try something new that doesn't work and he doesn't like. The specialist thinks the kidney values are from being an old dog. Old age will do that sometimes. He is still enjoying life and eating well.

We had a nice Easter. We saw each son and their family separately as my older DDIL had a cold and possible sinus infection. She didn't want to spread it around. When we went to their house she stayed on the other side of the room. The kiddies loved the candy and toys. The Easter Bunny was very good to them.

Our cruise line of choice (can we have a cruise line if we've only cruised once? I'm not sure, but I'm going with it-) sent us a email indicating they were taking summer bookings for passengers who were vaccinated. Only two destinations, one I have on the list - but not the short list - and one I've already been to, but they also said they were actively exploring other destinations for specific vaccinated cruises. That plus the WDW announcement today has me hopeful hopeful hopeful!

Dinner this evening is hashbrowns and eggs. And ham. I AM TIRED OF HAM BUT SHALL PUSH THRU! Rest of ham is going right in the freezer though!

On a more sober note, I'm struggling watching that news video of the young boy being found, apparently abandoned by his traveling companions, by a border agent. My heart is breaking for him, outside of any pros/cons to immigration, that poor child and his trembling lip. Trying to stay strong for the agent talking to him. Thank goodness he was found and will be given medical attention and shelter. I'm not a religious person but I'm thankful this evening for the powers that be that enabled the border agent and that child to find each other.

Dogs enjoyed this lovely day. Ladd is still out on the porch, enjoying the pleasant evening.

Off to a first aid/CPR class tomorrow morning! Looking forward to it.

We drove to Baltimore today to go to Smyth Jewelers. I wanted to order a personalized pewter crab mallet for Carter's first birthday. I have bought them for everyone in the family at some point. After that, we drove through Towson, my old stomping grounds, then past my parents house where I grew up, and past the first house I owned, a row house in Parkville.

Dinner tonight was left over ham, the rest will be frozen. (Sound familiar?) I had left over roasted butternut squash and L/O roasted broccoli. DH had L/O asparagus and scrambled eggs. It was clean out the refrigerator night. Later, cake!

Oh my, they had me at Unwine Wellington and the list of Martini's...you know I don't usually go farther up than Chesapeake Inn (although eldest son has been raving about a place up there they go to -Steak & Main - and we've been meaning to try it) but that looks worth a drive!
We've been to Steak and Main but only the bar side. The food there was good. We also liked UnWined in North East before it burned. I've been there since it reopened. Really like at the marina because it is outside. We like Doc's Riverside and O'Shuck's in Centreville. Had to find places to eat with DD when she worked at camp and when DSIL had performances at the high school.

Good evening, Friends :)

Hug, Snowysmom on Jasper. I do love the outlook and advice of your vet to keep Jasper happily fed with what he enjoys. I'm also glad you had a good Easter. Hope your DDIL feels better soon!

Hug to you as well, Easyas! I truly hope you get to enjoy a fun trip this summer. That is heartbreaking. Many prayers for the boy :(

Glad you had a good day, Carol and got to drive by some familiar sights :)

Thanks for all the well wishes, we had a good vet visit. We think he's going to be OK. He got a B12 shot and will be seen again Friday to make sure he still seems to be improving. These last couple days have been so stressful. Both our boys are older, big guys so we know they're time is coming sooner rather than later but it's just heartbreaking to think about it. Anyway, such a relief to not have to worry about it happening right now...

Between the dog and my poor mom still in the hospital with one problem after another, I'm exhausted....think I'll go to bed early tonight.
