Stay warm Carol and Lynxstch!

Thank you so much, Lynxstch for the links! I truly appreciate you my friend and all your time/help with this! I think I finally found one on Amazon that would work. For me, the price is high but not as expensive as some choices! The biggest thing is there is no collar--flat like a T shirt in the back. Here it is: Amazon Robe I'm going to try the red. I'll share how I like it when it comes :)

Sparkle, you stay warm, friend, too! Thank you for the Kohl's socks info. Post plague, Kohl's is the first place I am going to so will check out their socks! On another day, I will go to Old Navy, as well.

No mail here yet today. I did just order post card stamps on USPS.com. Post office does not have them. I hope they come!

@flyingdumbo127, that robe looks nice.

DH picked up pizza and a salad from the pizza place we like plus beer at home. So good. We used to get carry out on weekends but found we were having to wait and there were crowds.. With being retired, decided to move "dinner out" to mid-week.

Speaking of robes, DS on left and DH on right.

Good morning QUACKERS. Well they were slightly wrong about their storm predictions, thankfully. We got a little sleet in the afternoon, then a little snow, then a slight coating of freezing rain. But instead of the 1-3" or the 3-5" we might have gotten 1/4" of snow and 1/8' of ice. It's supposed to warm up to 45 today, that will be the warmest in almost 2 weeks. Everything will be melted long before noon. Temp is already above freezing here! May take a run out to the discount grocery store after everything is clear outside. At least my knees and back stopped aching, so I know the storm is gone! Have a great morning everyone!ce7e44fdac120935f84a461038c6c375.jpg

Yep, where I’m at the ice went an hour north, so no snow day from work. Oh well the students need to learn how to divide fractions.

flyingdumbo127. I saw the jungle cruise thing also, interesting

favorite Disney restaurant , if you have never gone back into Germany or France to their bakeries - do so on your next trip. Germany has hot carmel popcorn and s’mores made with Carmel mixed on the choc coating. In France, you can get a nice turkey or ham and cheese sandwich for a quick lunch and then one of the 20+ awesome desserts

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday,

I'm going to be driving up north today and taking my MIL to cardiologist and finally find out what's really going on and how to push forward for medical intervention with her (aka surgery is happening) and how bad everything really is. She has an aortic aneurysm growing but very stubborn because of fear. I'm dreading the drive up north (about 2.5 hours) as the weather is okay here but iffy up there (border of IN/IL next to Chicago) and I'm still not that experienced in snow driving but at least I have the Subaru. I'll be giving myself plenty of time.

@flyingdumbo127 check out cuddli duds for cozy socks. I have all things cuddli duds from Kohls and love them all. Also, when looking for new duster don't forget to use the term housecoat and winter when checking it out. I know JcPenney has some that you are looking for.

I have new job opportunity that I need to think about today and talk with Matt some more. It's great position as a national trainer for a suicide prevention organization but would require about 14 days cross country travel (when safe again) doing presentations and facilitation within schools and youth organizations, which is super awesome. But that is 2 weeks a month I'd be traveling and traveling really sounds more glamorous than it really is. Just a lot to think about it especially since we are talking about moving to AR or "downsizing" at least in spring 2022. So much talk about the future going on! Maybe I'll ignore the future for today.

Still keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers and wishing us all peaceful day.

Love this! :lmao: And those look a lot like my robe, but mine is longer. Where are they from?

I do like my fuzzy socks.
Not sure if this will help, but both my sons & husband buy super thick socks (for hunting and traipsing thru the woods in the cold weather) and If I'm not mistaken I think my husband has a pair of battery operated heated socks! Don't think they work to well though -

I think someone previously mentioned Cuddleduds and their socks, I have a coworker that swears by them!

I picked up some very thick sweater-like socks with a bit of grip on the bottoms from Costco last month. They are super thick - maybe they still have them online?

On the mail front, I received a Christmas card from my brother, postmarked Dec 14. A mere 6 weeks CT to MD.

Mail sure has been wonky of late! I ordered, and received a item recently and it's been showing on my Informed Delivery that delivery is 'pending'. I think I've had it for about 2 weeks now! Oddly enough some mail I receive several times per year from the Bahamas came yesterday, post marked Jan. 8th. On average it takes about 2 weeks to send/ receive mail from them and so I was impressed that it didn't take anymore that usual...of course, it was s a bill so I could have done without that! 🤣

This is mine, and it is heavenly!

That looks very comfy!

switched to a fleece zippy from old navy over pajama pants a few years back , rather than a robe. It keeps me warm.

I've started doing this as well with old cardigans and fluffy oversized sweat shirts.

I'm going to be driving up north today and taking my MIL to cardiologist

Safe travels and good luck to your MIL!

Welp, snow was bit fat dud. Hardly a coating of it. Oh well. Youngest got his first Covid shot yesterday courtesy of the US Army. They just let them know a few days ago they'd be getting it. He told me he had a bit of a headache and sore arm but that was it. We are patiently waiting our turn.

Not much on the agenda today. Trip to the bank later is about as exciting as it's going to get.

I'm still getting the weird thing where I sometimes can't get on and it's sending me to a pop up page again, much like several days ago. It's randomly happening.

Morning everyone.

Iffy weather here today and I need to go out in it. Thankfully it looks like we were spared the freezing rain. Managed to get 2 cabinets out of the wall almost completely by myself. The walls are going to be a little more work than I thought but I am excited to get the project finished, especially because I am doing a lot myself. I just hope I don't mess it up to much.

Good luck with your mother in law. This job sounds like an awesome opportunity and such a great cause. I lost a nephew to suicide about 8 years ago and a cousin to it 2 years ago. Then today I found out that a student at the High School my grandson attends committed suicide. My cousin's brother (also a cousin) is still struggling with the death. Right before my cousin committed suicide he threatened to do it yet again and my other cousin didn't take him seriously because he had threatened so often. Now he is haunted by his inaction to prevent the death.

Well I have an ear doctor appointment today and hopefully finally get the all clear. I have been battling this infection since November and it does feel almost 100% better. Then I am off to buy a ladder. The kitchen will be so much easier to do with that over a step stool. Hopefully I can get the walls cleaned and the 1st coat of primer on today. Skim coat and primer tomorrow and paint on thursday. Hopefully the floors can get done over the weekend but the baby is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, Either induction or C-section. She has BP issues and he is projected to be a big boy. I can't wait to be able to meet him.

Good day all

I'm glad it was a dud storm..there is still some ice here,,and they extended the warning till 1. Temp is still 32 but supposed to get near 45

I just got the same thing again..that goodluckdog thing. Norton blocked it,,and I have put it as blocked in Chrome yet it still comes through. I let WebMaster Pete know the other day that it was back on and off..but heard nothing back.

Here is the recipe for the chicken, broccoli and ziti with garlic and oil. She did not use anchovies. And upped the garlic. And she added chicken, cutting tenders in half, coating them in cornstarch and salt and pepper, browning them in saute pan, then finishing in oven, later adding all together. (I think using a little extra olive oil is good so pasta isn’t dry.) Enjoy!

So glad you are feeling better, Lynxstch :) Please do bundle up if you go shopping! Dad just went to the laundry mat. For here, it is freezing at 40 or so. He wore his warmest jacket. Thank you, as always, for the cheery new day picture. I so appreciate your taking the time and care to do that for us.

I am looking forward to riding the new Jungle Cruise, Sparkle. I think it needed a makeover—in general. Time for something new! The one time I had not hot caramel popcorn but hot kettle corn was amazing! This was when popcorn was much easier for me to eat. It was so tasty!

Always a Blessing to see a post from you, Tina. Many prayers for safe traveling and, of course, for your MIL! Wow! Congratulations! When the world is safe again, that sounds like an amazing opportunity for you, my friend! Besides, if you lived in AZ, you’d be closer to LA, for our one day Minnie’s DL meet. Excited for you and am sending you a PM, too. Keep it in prayer, think about it, and as Lynn so perfectly said my your choice bring you much peace. Thank you very much also for the Cuddli Dud recommendations. Apirateslifeforme suggested their sheets to me last year. So now socks +Sonoma T’s of course, are extra reasons I will be so thankful to go to Kohl’s when all is safe!

Pea, a good robe right now is a cozy good thing to have! Happy you have one :)

Thank you, Easyas, as well for the sock suggestions, appreciate it :) You stay warm and safe, too, please!

Hugs, TazDev and much peace and prayer to you. I also pray your appointment brings you relief at last! Drive safely!

Guess what was outside our door this morning along with Dad’s newspaper? My Amazon package that was supposed to come through the mail 5 days ago! I thought I had heard something drop outside the door last night while watching TV but it was too cold to find out! Still no mailbox mail but maybe the post office is back to delivering packages through the mail at least. Tomorrow, my robe from Amazon is hopefully coming via Amazon and not the mail, we shall see!

Have a good Tuesday, friends :)

Good afternoon.

snow was bit fat dud.
Yep, all we got was 34 degree rain. What a yucky day.

Got 2 pieces of mail today from church which is about 6 miles away but in another state. One was bulk mail and started with "enjoy the advent season." The other was a first class letter and took 3 weeks.

@lovemygoofy, always good to see you Tina. Safe driving and hope MIL's appt goes well. Good luck with your job decision. Whatever you decide will be the right decision.

Where are they from?
The robes are from Amazon, John Christian Men's Hooded Fleece Robe. We gave DS one for his birthday and DH liked it so he got one for Christmas. They wore matched eye glasses to look like twins.

the baby is scheduled to arrive tomorrow,
How exciting! Is this your great grandson? So your mother's great great? I hope all goes smoothly.

Hogan spoke today and never removed his mask during the almost hour conference. The only person without a mask was the person signing. Spoke about the vaccine and how they will distribute as it becomes available. I found that the local Walmart is also a vaccination site so will call and get on the list.

Dang - I missed it. I'll get home in time to catch the 5PM news so hopefully they'll recap.

Finished my new office rehab and have moved about 1/2 of my existing office upstairs to new one, will move rest tomorrow. I'll be 'living out of boxes' so to speak for another week or so as I'm waiting for the credenzas and file cabinets I ordered to come in - my current office has a lot of built in shelving and I had a smaller armoire in here for storage, but needed to revamp for the new office. I'm moving my computer up there tomorrow, so that will be me moved for the most part!

Dinner tonight will most likely be tomato basil soup & grilled cheese, we may indulge in a glass of wine.

Carol - you mentioned Purple Heart picking up...as fate would have it earlier this afternoon a coworker (she's on Kent Island - up near the airport) mentioned she was so excited because she had a porch full of stuff that they were coming to pick up. Up until today I had never heard of the organization! So - thanks for the heads up, good info to know, and I'm going to think of them next time I have items worth passing on that they could use.

I keep trying to respond and that darn goodluckdog keeps popping up and I have to start over.

@easyas123, we scheduled out pick up through Greendrop. We have also donated to Amvets when they used to call for donations.

I messaged Webmaster Corey again this morning regarding the goodluckdog..he responded that 'he's working on it',,so they are aware of the issue

I'm glad you heard from Webmaster Corey, Lynxstch! He hasn't gotten back to me yet but probably has been inundated with messages!

I just went back and found I first started participating in this lovely Dis Family thread on the first day of Spring last year, March 20th. All of you were already 4 day old friends. I continue each day to be so grateful to each of you and of course to God for bringing us all together to begin with! Thank you all for your love, support, and friendship and being a kind spark!
