Good Morning, Dis Family,

I am so sorry TazDev :( Prayers and hug extra to you, Kirby (good to see you), and Apirateslifeforme, Always love and thanks to everyone! I enjoyed reading all your later evening/early morning posts. May each of you always know you matter and make such a difference. Thank you!

I started to watch A Little Christmas Charm last night, will watch more in a little while. It was much more engaging to me than A Family for Christmas was yesterday.

Target has today bedding on special 20%+ some bedding you get an additional 25% off through Target Circle.

stay warm and well all!

The good and the bad.

Good - I did online ordering and curbside pick up at the Food Lion, out grocery store. It was easy and they texted with any questions about substitutions. I would do it again.

Bad - My COVID test couldn't be completed on the sample so I have to retest. Here is the message I got. Your COVID-19 RT-qPCR test was TEST NOT PERFORMED (TNP). This means the test was unable to be performed due to either an issue with matching the sample tube to your patient information or an issue obtaining enough sample matter to successfully run the test. This means you will have to be re-tested.

Sorry about that carol, that stinks.
I wonder how often that happens to others taking the test?

Welp the dinner I took out to thaw wasn’t quite there yet, so we will have that tomorrow and just forage in the fridge for dinner tonight. I’m working on my Christmas Eve & Christmas Day menus and grocery lists- keeping to the usual stuff, we will have a ton of leftovers but luckily everyone eats leftovers and I’ll take a break from cooking for a few days after Christmas!!
My hope & plan is to finish up my grocery shopping Sunday, except for fresh seafood.
Fingers crossed!
Was supposed to overnight my in laws gifts Wednesday but I’m going to wait till Thursday or Monday to send...dicey for sure, but it’s perishable and can’t send Wednesday like I planned because they are due for a fair bit of snow Thursday and I hate to chance it-I may try to get it out tomorrow- I need one more thing, so maybe if I can get it....usually my husband & his brother hand deliver it, but not this year...
We are determined to watch a Christmas movie tonight! Krampus or Emmet Otter are high on the list!
Got a Christmas card from a cousin I haven’t talked to in a while today, that was nice to get.
Have a very pleasant evening everyone-

Emmett Otter is one of my favorite Christmas movies! You just reminded me that I have to dig it out and watch it. It's gotten very cold and very windy outside, the front is definitely moving in. Very strange at the medical center (attached to our hospital) for his appts today. Got a parking spot right outside the main door,,at 3:15 in the afternoon? Noone inside taking temps or looking for masks,,noone in the hallways, noone in the elevators, noone on the third floor we had to go to. Walked into a totally empty ( of patients) waiting room. They took him right in and did his device check, and then he saw the cardiologist. All is the same, no worse, no better, so that's good. His appt was at 3:30. We got there at 3:20, they took him in at 3:25 and we were out of there by 3:50. I like the last appt of the day,lol

Went to Martins for a few things..the parking lot was jammed,,I haven't seen it that full since last Christmas. You might think we were going to have an apolyptic snowstorm. The pasta shelves were almost empty as were the soup ones. There was hardly any canned cat foo, the soda row looked like it hadn't been stocked in a month. Plenty of bread and milk though. I got what I needed and got the heck out of there. Had leftover pork for dinner..made noodles and pork gravy with it, and had the rest of the zucchini and peas we had in the fridge. Trying to clear out a little so I can get food for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, though I did get our ham at Aldi's last week.
Have a nice nite, everyone, stay warm!

I know one other person in DE that this happened to. My son said at least I found out they couldn't test. He has heard of people in MD who just never got results.

We are determined to watch a Christmas movie tonight!
We will be watching the Ravens.

I couldn't get the milk I wanted on my order from Food Lion. I was able to get a gallon of whole milk instead of the 1/2 gallon of 2% I wanted. The associate who was texting me said it was a combination of the snow predicted and trucks not having gotten there yet on a Monday.

Spaghetti and salad for dinner.

Happy Monday all. Hope you all are well. Its been awhile....first I was in funk dealing with some stuff with my parents which was causing tension between hubby and I, then it was finding out I'm needed to work into Jan, not be done this week like I originally planned and now the three of us are sick....like DH and DD are sick, sick. :guilty: Hubby got tested today, DD and I couldn't get an appt right away so we're just waiting now. Our insurance went from just requesting an test and then first come, first serve during testing hours to requesting a test and then having to call a number to set an appt. The appt mailbox is constantly full and no longer taking messages so you just need to call over and over again until you can make the appt. Such a pain. Hubby was lucky to get through late Fri night and they called Sat night to set up his appt. I asked him to ask about setting up an appt for DD and I at the same time and he forgot so no test for us yet. There was no line when hubby went so maybe it will be a little easier now to get an appt. I need to try again here in a little bit.

I'm feeling better already but I was sick first(started last weekend) with what I thought was just a really bad head cold, then DD had a fever Wed, with hubby following on Friday. The two of them have felt way worse than I have felt...fever, chills, body aches, bad headaches...none of us have lost our sense of smell or taste and only DD has a little cough from congestion so I'm hoping maybe its just a really bad bug and not Covid. 🤞

We got one tree up(fake) but haven't had the chance to go get our main(real) one yet so I don't know what we're going to do about that, at least we have one, I guess. I haven't even been able to finish the rest of the decorating or my shopping yet. 🤦‍♀️ Drive up pickup might have to be my saving grace....this is why II'm icking myself for being lazy and not being done before now, like I wanted. :sad2:

I also got an unexpected Christmas card today from a friend I had not heard from in ages. So glad you got one, too, Easyas123. Enjoy your movie :)

Stay warm all of you in snow! Here it is very windy!

Isn't it nice to get a card this time of year? I really appreciate it - it makes for a pleasant surprise!

now the three of us are sick....like DH and DD are sick, sick

I hope you guys are feeling more the thing sooner rather than later, keeping you in my thoughts.

Got a call this morning that my mom tested positive this morning. She's been moved to the Covid unit, I wonder if she is sharing a room with her roommate over there. So, it's more likely that I'm next. Got my weekly Covid test this morning. I should get results by Wednesday.

I've spent all day trying to get ahead in the office just in case I get to sick to work later this week. Payroll is done and a few bills paid. If I do have Covid then I hope it's a mild case.

I walked on my treadmill this morning. Think I'll wait awhile before I start using the programs. :) Even the lowest one was a little on the mild side for me.

Good morning everyone. The weathermen had better be wrong. Now they are saying we could get a storm with 6-13" of snow tomorrow?? They are saying it could be the most we've had in years? Are they nuts? I do NOT want snow. I broke my kneecap eons ago,,and it's always been a barometer for snow since then..but it's not aching like it usually does, so I really don't know what the weather will do.

We have plenty of food, plenty of wood for the woodstove if we lose power. I always enclose the wood shed openings with heavy plastic and the outside cats have lots of warm insulated, cozy boxes in there to sleep in. I also have 2 of them under our front porch, since its enclosed with lattice work (plastic lined inside), as 2 of them tend to hunker down there in rain/snow/wind. I will make sure they have food and warm water early tomorrow morning in both places, just in case. We don't have to go anywhere, but I will put the car cover on later today,,it's always easier to just take that off and have the snow slide off than brush off the whole car. Sounds like we will be staying put until at least Saturday morning!
Have a great day all,,stay safe if you are in the winter storms path!135621-Happy-Tuesday.jpg

Good afternoon, everyone! So, I've been quiet on here and haven't posted. I've been around but don't have much to add. Honestly, I'm starting to go into depression mode and it worries me. Greater Sac region just started regional stay at home order last night(criteria being icu beds below 15%capacity). As far as I know far Northern CA is now the only region not under the order. This is to last at least 3 weeks. I was supposed to volunteer at the library this morning but got an email yesterday suspending all county library re-openings. They had shut down in March and finally reopened last month, so here we go again.

I got the emergency alert on my phone at noon, I was outside raking in the never ending battle with leaves. I guess I should be happy I was able to get my hair cut on Monday, I hadn't seen the stylist in a year. The weather has turned grey and gloomy, supposed to rain later this afternoon. I'm just so tired of it all, seems like this will never end. I need to go make myself a cup of cocoa and settle in with a cat in my lap, lol. Hope you all are hanging in there and staying well.

@Breezy_Carol - thinking of you and your family.

It will, it will end and we will appreciate our freedom to run “amok” that much more. To stave off the blues, I take an early morn walk with my eyes open to the season’s changes. It helps especially knowing true winter is on it’s ways and I’ll be less inclined to wander outdoors. Be good to you!
Yikes to your DH's Market Basket experience, Snowysmom, that's awful. I'm sorry about your allergies :(

I'm glad at least one of your missing packages showed up, Lynxstch. That is very odd an Amazon package came in Walmart box!

Warming up a little here, still cool-ish in the apartment. We did put on Christmas-y tablecloth, the Happy Winter sign along with a tinsel Christmas Tree (from Dollar Tree) on the kitchen wall. All that festive decor brightened things up.

Do any of you know whether such a thing exists as a colorful Happy New Year sign (either hanging, wooden tabletop, cutout, etc.)? All I seem to come across as choices in dark colors, or that have lots of glitter on them, or toasting to the New Year--don't drink. Just would love something simple and cheerful. Even something similar to a Dollar Tree Happy Birthday cardboard centerpiece that says Happy Year would work. Thanks, friends :)
How about cutting individual letters out from pretty paper or fabric and glue or iron in place with fusible web? Could look nice on a no longer used bedsheet, pillowcase or tablecloth background. Just a thought :-) .

Stay well to all the sickies and may you be your best soonest.

Good morning.

One of the gifts for son-in-law is tongs for the fire pit. We’ve ordered twice from Amazon, starting before Thanksgiving, and it doesn’t look like it’s coming. Found a similar item at the local Lowe’s so ordered for curbside pick up. DH is getting it this morning. So only waiting for a book for DH I ordered to arrive. It’s been in the post office in Baltimore since 12/3. May have to reorder.

Starting to wrap today.

My brother called last night. He is an ophthalmologist in CT. He told me he is getting the vaccine on Thursday. His wife, a nurse, isn’t sure she wants to take it.:confused3 I plan to take it as soon as I can.

For @lynxstch and @easyas123 , Hogan speaks again today at 4.

ETA, I'll miss the news conference. Booked another COVID test at William Penn High School at 4.

Extra Quack from me! Good Morning, too 🐥

I ended up loving Unlocking Christmas, it surprised me! It didn't grab me quite the way from the get-go that A Little Christmas Charm did but the story sure grew on my heart. It was really sweet and showed great ways of community Christmas outreach, too.

🙏 and :grouphug: to all of you, especially those needing to test for Covid or feeling sick. Please take care of yourselves, friends!

NYCgrrl, that's a great idea except lol I have no clue what in the world a "fusible web" is! Dad did find a banner yesterday at the 99 cent only store. It's a bit dark for my taste and has glitter :p, but it's something. We do have small poster-board so could make our own picture as well.

Lynxstch, love your picture today!

Happy Tuesday All!
