@easyas123 We visited the museum of the Underground Railroad in Buffalo, NY, when DS was playing baseball out there. We had a hard time finding it but once we did, we thought it was really amazing to see. Slaves used to cross the water into Canada from the US at the Niagara River (yeah, that one, not far from Niagara Falls) near the point where Lake Eire and Lake Ontario meet (if I recall correctly) which is not an easy feat. The water was of course very rough, and there was a rope that stretched the width of the river that they had to hang onto, sometimes with babies on their backs and children in their arms. Many were lost when taking the risk. It was very moving to see.
Well, to cut to the chase, I have food poisoning.Which explains why I’ve been so sick. Got a call from the hospital last night (strange, as it was my future DIL that called me from the ER, and DS answered her phone when I first returned her call, I though maybe I was losing it!) that my stool sample culture came back with a bacterial infection, so they started me on antibiotics. It’s a serious food-borne illness and reportable, so the DPH called me this morning. Ugh. That means the restaurant will be getting a visit from them to see if there’s anything not being stored or cooked properly, and they’ll also see if anyone else comes down with the same illness. DH had it too, but he was able to shake it off. With me, it got worse because my immunity is low.
I thought I’d be feeling better on the antibiotics but I had a horrible today. I’m at the point of almost screaming when I “go” it’s so uncomfortable. (5X today!) Hopefully things start to get better soon. But tomorrow I see my PCP as follow up from the ER, and the pharmacist that follows me took me off the oral chemo until after I finish the antibiotics, saying I’ve got enough going on in my GI system as it is, which I was thankful for. Now I’m afraid to eat, not just because I don’t want to have to “go”, but because I feel that these germs are probably more common than we know but most people’s immunity is strong and they’re able to fight it off. I have to accept that I’m now one of those “immunocompromised”. I’m not sure what this means for me eating out in the future. There can be some complications from this germ and I’m praying I don’t get them. Thank you for your good thoughts for me. I still am in disbelief.
I've had food poisoning and it's no joke. With your illness, I'm sorry it's hitting you so hard. I hope the antibiotics do their job and get you feeling better quickly.
Oh, I'm sorry! You really don't need more piled on right now.Well, to cut to the chase, I have food poisoning.Which explains why I’ve been so sick.

I got ambitious and one bedroom is cleaned out with 7 bags going to the trash depot. The other bedroom is almost done but all the dust has my head pounding. That room is mostly cleared out just need to find somewhere to store the decorations and a few books I am keeping. I'm just having trouble finding paint colors. I don't want gray. I do want something with a hint of pink for the one room and a hint of blue for the other two rooms. So far the samples I bring home are way to bright. I did find ceiling fans I like so I will get them next week. The stores are too crowded with the nicer weather hitting us. My only other thing is I need to replace the light fixture in the bathroom. I need to find something not metallic as what I have now, while I loved it when I bought it, is now tarnished and rusted. I'm trying to find something similar but that may last longer than 3 years.
QOTD - Have you replaced or gotten rid of your land line and do you regret it? - I am not paying $40 a month to Comcast for a phone I haven't used in 6 months. I really only use the number for people I don't want to have my cell phone number. I have a sentimental attachment to the landline though as we have had that number for almost 43 years since we bought the house. I guess I could get rid of the landline but still give that number out on the rare occasion I don't want it used but it is connected to a couple of things I do still use. One more thing to stress over.
