Good morning
Feeling lazy today but I need to finish getting the 1st spare room empty. It's mostly dragging out everything I'm donating. Boxes of books I no longer need or want including textbooks from over 40 years ago. They are poetry and Victorian literature anthologies. I am not a fan of Victorian era poetry and books, and I really don't need a modern poetry anthology. I am trying to downsize as I will only have a small bookcase that my dad made years ago. I can't get rid of that. I also have 2 bags of tote bags and the like. I'm even donating the Disney ones I never use. I'd prefer someone get them that would appreciate them. I did get rid of most of the beach towels to my daughter. After they are out I just need to go through the Christmas decorations. I'm going to get rid of what I don't use anymore, including lights. I don't know if my daughters need anything but my neighbor will take some of them. It feels good to know we are getting the room done. I'll get jay to take the mattresses, TV stand and bookcase outside to go in the trash monday. The TV stand should get taken with one of the junk collectors that come around. Nothing wrong with it but I don't plan on having TV's in the spare rooms.
I paid off one room for my August trip, added Memory Maker and got tickets to the Halloween Party. Now if I could just get everyone to come here so we can go over a few things like table service meals, magic bands and getting them to download the My Disney Experience app so they ca link to me. The England trip is probably going to be a NO!. The cost wasn't listed at first and it's over $6,000. It includes airfare but mom is still trying to get her finances straightened out. She loses dad's pension so it may not work for her and I hit an unexpected expense from this past winter - my sidewalk is crumbling in spots. I want to get it done now rather than later to prevent anyone getting hurt. That will be done right before we leave in august so I will be able to use the driveway when I get home. Part of the sidewalk is in front of the driveway.
That snake story actually brings back memories. My brother had a friend who got a snake. He kept it in his closet so his mother wouldn't know except she put some of his clothes away and the snake scared her big time. The friend gave the snake to my brother. It fit in a large barrel my dad had. Well my brother reached in the barrel to shop my mom how docile this snake was. The snake bit him and wouldn't let go. Mom called the dr. worried about venom and who could take it. He recommended a patient who worked at the zoo, ironically my mom babysat the kids. My brother was ok and the snake - a python - found a new home at the Philadelphia zoo. I was happy as I hated the garter snake my other brother had. Not a huge found of slithering reptiles at all.
Not sure I am doing anything special for Mother's Day. My brother probably invited my mom there. Those grandkids are her favorite so I am sure that will be her plan. My son rarely remembers my birthday let alone Mother's Day and one daughter is working although she will text. My other daughter usually gets me a little something - usually Disney related. I prefer not going out to eat because of my seafood/shellfish allergy. I do have an Olive Garden gift card so I may get some Tiramisu to go and drop one off to my mom. Other than that it's just another day. I'm not that sentimental.
Hope you all have a good day. I'm off to try and get the containers to my car and the donation site. Also picking up one more flat of flowers for my deck and maybe some vegie plants. I was very disappointed with the vegies last year. Ants kept eating the eggplant flowers and the tomatoes turned out to be cherry tomatoes. I wanted slicing size.

I enjoyed one too.
But it won’t be any use if it’s not done right.)
