For today, I am going to focus on exercise. At least one round of yoga and a nice walk, this needs to happen I need to get out of the house and move more.

And thank you for the previous push to connect with others the other day! I emailed one of the girls in my book club and now we have been emailing back and forth, I may get a new friend out of this instead of her just remaining an acquaintance in my book club!

I slept until 9:30, because I figured there was no point to getting out of bed early today!

Today everyone is going to be in their own space in the house. I plan to catch up on some shows I couldn't watch during the week because of homeschooling.

Husband is going to the garden center to get mulch and a few plants if he can. Hoping to at least get our flower beds cleaned up during this mess.

I think I am going to stay away from all news today.

ETA: I am going to do some baking today, also. Bran muffins and brownies.

For those that are taking walks in the neighborhood, ours started something fun yesterday putting up fun cartoon pictures, inspirations or just kids' drawing in the windows that can be seen from the sidewalk for those out on walks or drives. I understand some are planning sidewalk chalk art show soon. That would be fun some to fun outlets together.

So how's everyone doing? We are in this together..let's hear some updates.

I love what your neighborhood is doing!

We had our first family game night in ages last night. DS chose Monopoly (well, "Boston-Opoly") and won handily.

I walked on the treadmill this morning, and we're all planning to take a walk outside later today.

In the meantime, DH is playing video games and DS in in his room - not sure if he's also playing, binge-watching something, or talking to his friends right this minute.

I'm planning to put Frozen 2 on Disney+ (shhh, I'm not an actual grown-up, I just play one on TV...) and do my nails (which is something I rarely make time for).

Right now, I have been enjoying some alone time. A friend posted a video of Kenny Rogers with a group called Home Free. I ended up enjoying the song so much I have spent about an hour just watching and listening to more of their music on youtube. They are a cappella group that makes even the instrumental sounds with their voices only. Amazing! I loved their sound so much I just went and bought two of their cds from amazon. Yes, I still prefer cds.

I starting mediation when I was caring for my mom while my dad was still working. I was amazed at how well and fast it relaxes me. I've been doing it everyday the past few weeks and I can just feel the worry and tension leave my body in the one 14 minute session. Though, I recently discovered I can't do it in front of my husband since he thinks its hilarious and starts cracking up and gets me going. :sad2: LoL

Today we will not be going out at all. This week we worked or had to go out to get things we needed almost everyday so today we're 100% staying home.

The days are pretty much the same for us.......we're retired. DH just can't go to Home Depot every day :rotfl:
We are sitting around watching TV, going to DS's tonight for DIL's birthday celebration.
I am going to make a list of things to do that keep getting put off......lots of it is cleaning.

I am going to avoid the virus news on the Dis. It is stressing me out.

I am about to go take a long, hot bath with some scented epsom salts. I'm going to drink a glass of good wine, read a good romance novel, listen to some relaxing music, and smell my favorite wax warmer scent while I do so. Everyone knows to leave mama alone when she is in bath mode.

ETA: everyone is on their own for lunch, and I'm working on laundry. Tonight we are having leftover pork shoulder, made into al pastor seasoned tacos with the leftover Asian slaw from yesterday.

I'm afraid my Saturday looks just about like every Saturday starting in late March/April....in the fields! But I've finished one audio book, and am starting another. Just popped into the house to check the news headlines, and DIS!
Back to it!

collecting rocks out of the desert wash, it flooded Wednesday, so more rocks were exposed and in the early morning hours, the agates are still wet so they are easy to spot, the Quail are chirpping, the doves cooing and hummingbirds are claiming territory in the mesquite trees that are getting ready to bloom...they are loudest, most obnoxious sound in the morning....they bark like bad brakes

I started the day by doing something for both hubby and me and the furbabies. I hit Walmart and Aldi's early. Not crowded, not packed. I actually walked up to an empty register at 10 am, noone else in line at 3 of the open ones! No empty shelves for the most part (with the exception of the frozen food dept in Walmart, it looked like all of the freezers had broken they were so empty.) Soup row was being restocked, as were the pasta, sauce, and vegetable rows. Paper goods row was also empty in walmart, but plenty in Aldi's. I splurged and bought myself a pkg of cherry toaster strudel for 'me time'. lol! After I got home, and put everything away, I started up the wood stove to take the chill out of the air. We went from 79 degrees Thursday to a high of 46 today!)
As soon as I finish catching up on the DIS and email, I plan on playing a game or 2 of solitaire on the computer, making dinner and then---
tonite will be ME time. Long hot soak in the tub, followed by a movie, probably Frozen 2, as the dvd is still sitting in it's shrink wrap staring at me from the cd rack, lol.
Hubby has decided that he will probably use FMLA for the next month or 2 and then completely retire. He's had enough, and at this point, isn't feeling well enough to go back to work full time anyhow. So I need to get all the ME time I can get for the next little while. :P

DH and I took a long walk this morning. Since the gym is closed we started walking and really enjoy it. Alot of people are walking and everyone says hi and sometimes we stop and talk with neighbors. I have done some housework and emailed friends to see how they are doing. I will probably meditate to help with the anxiety. I have been listening to country music. I hope the kids and grandkids video chat with us today. I miss seeing them. And I will certainly avoid the fear mongering threads on Disboards. This thread is fantastic and calming.

I had some minor things that I accomplished today which was to finish up the care packages my husband and I put together for some friends. We started this task before the quarantine but I hadn't gotten around to sealing the boxes... so now we have to figure out mailing them out. That's for another day though.

I don't have any other pressing items for today (thankfully) since I've been feeling sick so the only other thing I'd like to do is take a nap. That may be tricky though since the kiddo has been fussy so far.

I've enjoyed a quiet Saturday at home. I just got an email from church sharing how to access tomorrow's live (less than 10 participants) service. I organized some shopping lists for next week to make it easier to plan ahead and for what stores. I also had a nice chat via text with a church friend who shares my love of Betty Crocker sugar cookies in the red pouch. I always share with her when I make these. We agreed that this is a perfect time to make the one remaining bag I have. We have both been trying to lose weight, I am so thankful to God for having lost weight already and seeing a difference in clothes. While I would ultimately like to lose 10-15 more pounds, I realize that using up this one mix (it makes 18 good size cookies that I will give my friend and her daughter at least half of) isn't going to hinder my progress! :) As others have said, it is more than okay to enjoy a food treat as you are able every so often especially when shared :)

Went to our weekly breakfast ministry. One volunteer stood outside and handed out brown bag breakfasts to the homeless. The rest of us stayed in the kitchen and packed the bags. Still, we were a bit fidgety when social distances was difficult to maintain. We might decide to not help next week.

Washed clothes. Did some cardio outside. Played with the dogs. Watched YouTube. Played xbox.

Dinner was turkey burgers, steak fries, and baked beans.

Next the four of us is going to play some Mario Kart or Mario Party on the Switch.

My DH is prone to tech talking us to death. Early in our dating life we were out for the evening and he actually began discussing with me the various types of lights we encountered -- now those are sodium vapor lights, etc. I often tell him I have no idea how he thought that was possibly going to woo me ... or how it's possible I said yes to the next date, and the next.

That type of tech talk gets him many, many responses of no, Dad, just no from our daughters. I have active resentment for the show How It's Made.

You described our eldest son to a tee. His wife and 2Dds 'enjoy' the same banter... My Dh and I created this darling man's passion by giving him a book titled 'How it works' when he was young.
