Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Thank you to those who are feeding and caring for the stray cats this winter. Thank God for people like you. We’ve done the same before. We trapped a mom and babies one year, got them shots and found them homes even though it took a while. Mama cat just passed of old age not too long ago, a friend had taken her so I saw it on her social media. We also had another one hanging around DH’s shed. DH dug a section out under the stairs and put a warm bed for it there. It’s been a while since we had one, but we’d still do the same. We have a large coyote population so I get worried about them being attacked, or any domestic animal out in the freezing cold.

Your daughter's living space looks lovely. The gray cabinets really look nice but I am partial to gray. The couch is nice too. She is going to have a nice place to call home.
Thank you! I think so too!

You went with gray in your condo, didn’t you? We originally were planning gray, even as far back as when Mom was thinking of redoing the cabinets in there. But when we started this process this time, for real, we all sort of fell in love with the navy blue in the showroom, and that’s what DD got, navy. It might be hard to tell in the picture.

Thank you all for your updates and shares. I read them all and as always feel extra blessed to be a Quacker. Pea, great photos. Nothing in particular in stockings. Next year God willing when I am back to normal, it would mean a lot to me for dad and I to try again picking out a special memory ornament of the year together and being able to get him one in person. Thank you all for the Word related replies. We will figure it out :)

Good morning. It is 8 degrees here right now and heading up to the low 20s today. I am so glad I bought a really warm long coat for these kind of days. Yesterday was a quiet day. I did some stuff around the house. The yogurt bark is good but melts quickly when out of the freezer. I will try to bring it to Kenny's with an ice bag next to it. I am spending the night at Kenny's and his kids will open their gifts tomorrow morning. Jeff's family will come over around 9. It will be chaos with the kids opening their gifts but it is a fun chaos. We will have brunch and then Kenny and his kids are heading to his GF's parents for the afternoon. I am glad to be able to go to Jeff's on Christmas morning. Today I work and then don't have to work again until Thursday. Knowing me I will probably go online Tuesday afternoon to do some catch up.

Have a good day.

Good 12 degree morning. Wow, it's cold out there. Going to 34 today.

I'm trying to chase down my re-enrollment form for one of my meds with the hospital. I brought them to the right person the day after Thanksgiving. She sent my portion back in, but the provider portion hadn't been filled out. I called her on Friday to ask if she submitted everything by the Dec 15 deadline. She said she didn't get the provider portion back yet (seriously? they're only one floor above the heart clinic in the medical bldg.). She said she was sending it up again as soon as we got off the phone. (walk it up there for pete's sake). I got a letter from the drug company on Sat that if they don't get that asap my application will be denied. I just called the cardiologist office and his nurse isn't in yet, but the secretary didn't see anything there from Novartis or the clinic. When the nurse comes in she's going to have her call me. I've never had this problem before. Everything has always been submitted before the deadline. Not a good way to start my day off.

One of my sister in laws and niece came over yesterday for awhile. By the time they left I had a headache, lol.

The guy is supposed to come for the woodstove tomorrow. He said he had to wait to get enough people together when they weren't working to move it. If he doesn't come tomorrow, I'm done.

Off to get dressed and then vacuum the kitchen floor and wash it.

Have a good day everyone

QOTD - stockings...yes, we currently all have designated stockings. They've changed a bit over the years.
-kitchen aid mixers...yes, we have one. I got one for a wedding shower gift from my aunts well over 32 years ago. It doesn't
get a lot of use though, but it's one of those things that is good to have when you need it! It's a solid workhorse though,
and I'll be able to pass it on when I no longer have a place for it to live. Currently keeping it in a under counter cupboard.

Good morning everyone. Hope you & your families are all doing well. Bobbi - good luck with all your needed medical stuff, glad the news isn't terrible.

All is well and good here with us. Thought I'd take a moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah. We are in the office today then that is it for us until the 2nd of January. No great or exciting plans this evening. Tomorrow we are driving over to our youngest sons house to have a Christmas Eve lunch with him, our DIL and her parents. It's about a 1 hour & 10 minute drive there on a good day. Not sure what Christmas Eve w/ sleet will look like so we will leave with plenty of time built in and a good attitude! Then around 2ish we will hightail it home. Around 4 or 4:30 my BIL, SIL & niece will be over for a few hours. Christmas Day we will take it easy in the AM and probably enjoy Bloody Mary's & Mimosas in the hot tub! late morning or so both the boys & their wives will be over and we will have a leisurely brunch and open gifts. Mid day will be oysters and dinner will be chicken parm.

We - my husband and I - usually take a winter break at the end of January. This year due to various work travel and other stuff going on we didn't have anything planned. Then we started reading about the changes coming to WDW - specifically Muppets theatre, Tree of Life, Dinosaur and Tom Sawyer Island...so even though we had no intention of going to WDW in 2025 we decided to take a last minute three night trip down to revisit these nostalgic attractions in their current incarnations one more time, so just a few days ago we booked a trip down on the 8th of January. Going to stay at the Yacht Club, which will be a new resort we haven't stayed at yet. No plans, no rush, no expectations - just a leisurely get away. I've got to go to San Diego and the Cayman Islands for work in late Feb. & early March so - combined with some other things going on at work - we will be fairly busy until mid-March.

No plans for the New Year Holiday. We don't generally go out, and we aren't late night types so it'll probably just be another evening for us.

I'm pretty much done all my Christmas Prep - grocery shopped, went to the liquor store, wrapped everything yesterday except for 2 gifts. Need to go out at lunch and pick up a RX and some $$$ for my husband so he can grab the scratch offs for everyone's stockings. I do need to clean the basement - we will probably do that this evening while watching a Christmas movie.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. Stay safe, stay warm, enjoy the time with family & friends!

Walmart won't give Summer back her money for the order THEY cancelled, until Dec 29.
On the other hand, they're giving me money for nothing. I got an email saying there was an issue delivering an item on Dec 7, because my address was wrong. No it's not, and I got the item on Dec 9, when it was supposed to get here. I called the 800 number and the guy says he has no idea why I got the email. My address is correct and he can see I got the item. (The item cost $5.97). It was ordered with another item that came the next day, that item was $14.98.

So for my inconvenience he give me compensation in the form of a refund to my Visa, for $37?? The email says it's a refund on an order, but I have no such order number and didn't have any items that cost $37.

So I get yet another gift from them. They love giving money away for nothing, but she can't get a refund that they're holding for 10 days, because of their error? That's not right.

That is weird, @lynxstch! Be careful that they don't ask you for a bank account number to deposit the refund or something - maybe it's a very elaborate scam.

I hope your wood stove finally gets picked up!

No, the refund will go to my Visa that's on file with then. It's legit. I didn't click on the link in the email, I logged on to the site myself. I think he felt bad because he asked how I was spending my Christmas and when I said alone, he asked why. I told him my husband and died, and he was very sympathetic. He told me to use the refund to buy myself something so I would have a nice Christmas.

The guy for the stove is coming Sunday, or so he says. It's his last shot at it!

Prayers indeed Lynn your stove finally gets picked up. I'm sorry about your Walmart trouble. I chatted with Amazon this morning over a couple account notices including one requesting a return of an order we never received. Three agents later, it was all taken care of. I did appreciate the extra time of the third agent. Easier orders and pick ups to dear you my friend ahead.

Looks like you got some Walmart Pixie Dust!

I on the other hand have been doing Shopkick today at Safeway.

I saw a nice bunch of points available if I purchased Bertolli pasta sauces. 1200 per jar. I bought 2, at 2 for $5.

Came home, submitted my receipt and immediately was electronically told it was invalid. Looked right to me so sent an inquiry. So far, received a response that they got my inquiry. 2400 points is $9.60 towards a gift card so basically free product with some cash on top.

My neighbor friend has me doing this. Last year I was easily picking up $25 Disney gift cards, this year not so much. It's something I do when I sit to relax but I've lost interest. I still check the specials like this one was supposed to be since I was going to Safeway anyway for corn, which I forgot to get. Spent $60 on other stuff.

EasyAs Good to hear from you. A Disney trip sounds like a nice getaway for a bit.

Lynn Glad Walmart has been doing the right thing for you. I don't understand why Summer has to wait for her refund though.

I am back from Kenny's. I did not sleep well last night at his place so I am tired today. Ethan and Owen opened their gifts in less than 15 minutes. They had fun. We had a good brunch with the whole family. Gift opening got a bit chaotic with 6 kids looking through the gifts. Now I am back at the condo for the day. Tomorrow morning brunch at Jeff's and then back here for the afternoon.

I am trying to get up the energy to go take a walk. Then I think a cup of cocoa is a good idea. It has been awhile and I want some comfort food/drink. Tonight supper may be tomato soup and a baked cheese sandwich. My ultimate comfort food.

Have a nice Christmas Eve.

@easyas123 , thank you for your thoughts.

We just came back from Mass with our Houston family. It’s been a long time since we’ve been to Mass on Christmas Eve with family. I feel very very blessed.

Our other son, from MA never made it out of CT yesterday…he gave up and went back home. We will miss him and the one granddaughter who was in the car with him. Our thoughts are with them tonight. Our oldest granddaughter’s birthday is today. She’s 22🎂❤️.

We’ll celebrate with Polish brunch and steak dinner tomorrow. Nancy and Garry will join us.

Merry Christmas dear friends.🎄

Up too early here. - Just couldn't sleep. Sadly, we lost our kitty who had been battling cancer yesterday. 🐈‍⬛🪽 I think she tried really hard to make it to Christmas, but just couldn't do it.

I don't mean to make any of you sad on the holiday, just to explain why I might not be posting in my typical Christmasy way. - She had a good long life, with lots of spoiling in the last few months.

Here she is many years ago as a kitten:
