Jeff just let me know that Charlotte has double ear infections and RSV. Sam is starting to sound like he has RSV and getting croupy. Charlotte is on amoxi for the ears. Poor little ones! The holidays will be tough this year. We will have to see how it goes day by day. I am buying some extra food in case we are not able to go to Jeff and Aimee's on Christmas and I can cook something at Kenny's. He has the kids.

The workers are outside digging in the window wells. Piles of crushed rock in the yard. My AC looks like it has been straightened out. I see a truck with loam in it so I hope it is mine!

Sorry about the kids!

Great that they've finally started working on the problem.

Yesterday the foreman of the builder and the landscaping foreman came by to see what needs to be done
Glad that you are getting a resolution to the situation.
I'm heading out to the grocery store now, before the madhouse begins.
No kidding, last night - even though I've already done my grocery shopping - I'm wandering around the kitchen, checking the fridge & pantry trying to figure out what I forgot
I don’t know how I feel, just numb I guess.
I regret that I have no words of comfort for you, but your strength this past year must have been difficult to summon at times and I hope the fact that you were able to summon it brings you some comfort and peace this Christmas season.
Jeff just let me know
That stinks, your grandkids have had a rough couple of months if I'm remembering correctly, with various illnesses. I'll keep my fingers crossed for your family that the RSV is mild, and the kids bounce back in time for Christmas - and that your son & DIL don't get it!

Thanks for the well wishes for my husband. He's rather miserable today, had a rough night last night and rough day so far today. I think he'll be over the worst of it in another 24 hours. He's icing, elevating, doing his exercises and whatnot.

Very easy - take a brick of cream cheese out of the fridge to soften a little, and then spread it on a plate. Mix a can of tiny shrimp (drained) with some cocktail sauce, and pour/spread it on top. Serve with crackers. (My mom liked Triscuits with it, and my aunt Town House. - Both are good.)
Nice, that is one of my Mom's favorites. We haven't had that in forever. Sounds like a great idea for the holidays. thks

@dazedx3 Thinking of you. :grouphug:

Lynn I hope you have been able to get things done and ready to hibernate for a bit.

Mona I hope you are continuing to feel better and making good progress.

Pea I hope your DD is doing better. She has had a tough time in the past few months.

EasyAs Hoping your DH is doing better and able to get some rest.

Good morning. Since I went into the office on Monday I am not going in today. Yay! No trip down the highway this morning. They did the work outside yesterday. It is all crushed rock. They did the window wells, put a pile of crushed rock around the ground which is around the AC at the place where the foreman saw alot of water pooling. Now it is sloping away from the foundation at that place. This is an emergency grading which is all they can do with the stop work order. Once they can go back to regular work I am going to ask them to revisit grading issues around the whole foundation as I sent to the punch list. I just hope what they did yesterday fixes the issues. I also saw them working on other areas in the complex so I am assuming others got water too. I went to the gym yesterday and met with a trainer. They have you do that when you join as a kickstart program. I know they want to sell services. He showed me alot of exercises to help with my knees, hips, shoulders etc. I know I need strength in those areas for balance and stability especially getting older. I ended up signing up for 5 sessions only. I do not want a trainer all the time. But I do want some guidance on exercising properly as I age to help me the most. It is something I am doing for me. I will see the trainer once a week for 5 weeks and do my own session once a week. Then I will go 2 times a week and do my own program. At least it will keep me busy. I am having dinner with Kenny, his GF, and the kids tonight. I need to touch base with Jeff and see how the kids are doing. Last night they were about the same.

I did go to Market Basket yesterday after the gym as it is right nearby. I was talking with the cashier and bagger. They said the store will be a zoo by evening and then until the holiday. I only need to go to Hannaford's Saturday morning at 7 to get berries if we are able to get together for Christmas. No more stores for now.

Have a good day.

Happy Thursday, 🎄

Headed to the 50's today and the rest of the week. For Xmas Day they are predicting 60's . Last year we had a major ice & snow storm that started on Xmas Eve ❄️. Weather is so unpredictable.

Snowysmom - Rocks around the window wells, it's a start. Hopefully that will fix that problem and then they can move on to the other ones later.🙏

Watched the finale last night of Survivor. I expected the person who won was going to. Even though I didn't want them to win, they did play a good game 😒. Guess I'll wait until February when the next season starts.

Got my laundry done last night and cleaned all the litter boxes. I am really banking on being able to work from home tomorrow, even though I shouldn't. 😬

Well back to work, have a great day!

Good morning. I overslept this morning. I was up late Tuesday night and past midnight last night , so I guess I needed some extra sleep.
Walmart was an absolute zoo yesterday, tripping over people left and right. But I got everything done I needed to. Aldi's was busy, but manageable. Martins was even worse than Walmart. And I ended up having to stand in the customer service line and asking for a manager. Something that was on sale didn't ring up, and it didn't even ring up as the regular price. It rang up $5 over the shelf price. The customer service girl was rude and snotty, and I don't put up with that. She kept telling me it was the seafood departments problem not hers. So I asked for the manager. I told her to have him meet me in the seafood department. I went back there and told them they issue. They told me it wasn't their problem, it was a corporate issue. So I asked if they were purposely overcharging people. The sale started last Friday. Yesterday was Wednesday. How many people got overcharged because they didn't check their receipts. Another lady came over and started with 'what's the problem in a sarcastic tone. The 2 guys who were trying to figure it out were friendly, but not her. She says 'well just ask for your money back." I said I didn't want to return the item, I bought it because I wanted it, at the sale price. She says we can't do that. I said 'wanna bet?" By then the manager had come over and had heard the whole exchange and wasn't happy. He told the lady to meet him in his office, and I found out later that the had told the customer service rep the same thing. He apologized, went to the service desk himself and gave me back $15.98, along with a $25 gift card. He said that's not the way we treat customers, and this won't happen again. And he called corporate with the price discrepancy
ancy and told them to fix it, since that sale runs through January 1.

After 40 years of getting a daily newspaper today was the last day, and they didn't deliver it, lol. I had to call and ask why, she had no idea but said someone would bring me one. I said tell them to take the newspaper box away, or I'll put it out for the trash.

I have some laundry to do and want to wash the kitchen floor so I better get moving. I'm behind schedule today

@Snowysmom That's great that you joined the gym for yourself. Step by step, you're getting stronger, and we're proud of you.

Prayers and hugs to all that need them

Have a good day

Good Morning dear Quackers,

So proud of each of you dear friends. How truly blessed God has made me to have you in my life. Snowysmom, good for you joining the gym and ITA with Lynn! Lynn, hugs with care to you too always same to you, Dazed, PollyannaMom and all.

I did get more sleep last night. Slowly but surely by the Grace of God alone! Christmas will mark 3-5 weeks to full recovery. Another positive step! I am also becoming less ibuprofen dependent. I still take under 1000 mg a day. Trying to cut that back. God willing by the end of the year I can pretty much be done with it. There are still twinges of feet pain. Nothing thank God like it had been. Movement is still the key and by His Mercy I continue to get stronger. Thank each of you of course always for your prayers, love, and encouragement. Have a lovely day, friends.

Just a quick hello, have to go out shortly. Happy to hear good news. You’re all in my prayers.

Mona, there’s no real reason you have to cut back on the medicine right now. It’s helping healing. If you’re in pain, you shouldn’t be afraid to take it. You’re on a low dose as it is! But glad you’re doing better.

Have a good Thursday, everyone! 🐥

:thanks:dear PollyannaMom and dear Pea. I definitely do still need the ibuprofen. I've been spacing out doses 4 times a day which seems to be helpful. How is your DD doing?

Afternoon extra xo to all.

ETA: I have been meaning to share that should any of you need a JC Penney online code please PM me. I have $10 off $10 through Sunday. Would love to give it to a Quacker :)

Good Morning. It is really cold here, 18 degrees and only going into the mid 30s today. It will be a cold walking day but I hope to go to the park in Kenny's town and then get a grilled chicken wrap and salad for supper. I am going to bake sugar cookies today. I made the dough yesterday. Tomorrow will be blondies and chocolate cream pie. Then I will spend Christmas Eve and Christmas night with Kenny and the kids. Brunch at Jeff's on Christmas.

Jeff's kids are doing better. We talked yesterday. They slept through the night. The antibiotic is working so Charlotte is feeling less cranky as Jeff says. He says they are still on for Christmas at this point as long as Kenny is. Kenny is fine with it. I need to hit a supermarket at 6 or 7 tomorrow morning before the hoards ransack the stores. Wegman's opens at 6 so I wonder if I should go there right at 6. Hannaford's opens at 7. I just need some fruit and a couple of other items.

Have a good day.

Happy Friday!

Working from home today so it's definitely a happy Friday for me.:cheer2:

Snowysmom - today is one of those days you should take advantage of the gym! Too cold for me to be walking outside.:cold:

We're headed to 55 today and 50's all weekend.🥵

Didn't go see the outdoor Xmas light display with Evan last night. I was talking to a couple of people at work yesterday and my boss said that he waited 1 1/2 hours to get in and another person said they waited 2 hours 😳. No thank you!!!! It's a drive-thru display so I wouldn't want to be stuck in a car that long just looking at lights. I told Evan that since it's kinda warm out, they should go to the zoo or Kings Island for their Xmas displays.🎅

Today will be a major cleaning day in between working. Going to throw the dog's couch covers in the laundry to get those clean. Dishes will be getting done in a few minutes. :laundy:

That's it for me. Have a great weekend!

Good morning..We rode around Cape May, and Cape May Point last evening to see Christmas Lights. Will venture out north tonight. Quiet days for us. DSis and Garry are on their way here. We’ll have breakfast/lunch together, and they’ll walk Gus today.

Our dog walker has raised her price for 1/2 hour walk, from $25 to $35. This seems excessive to me. We really like her. Tom is OK with it, I am not, really. What to do??

We’ve been told that a next step for Gus is to take him to a specialist for some health issues. He’s 11.5, and has some issues.

 To all here who are sad, stressing this time of year. Our Mom passed in 2016, this time of the year. Today would have been her 104th birthday. The real reason DSis is coming today, to remember our Mom together.
