Lynn You are keeping busy. They always pack things like they are meant to never be opened. It is always a challenge.

Good morning. Warmer morning here, 46. It has been raining. I did not mention the new condo issue I found over the weekend. I heard a loud noise at 5 am on Saturday. Got up and looked around. I went into the basement which I do not like to do as I find something not so great sometimes. No exception this time. I have a large crack in the basement floor from one wall to the other in a small alcove area. It is not uneven. It is a bit larger in the middle of the floor but not alarmingly so yet. Kenny came by after work yesterday to look at it. He does think it is s settling crack and I should not worry. But, he and I agree I will send it over to the punch list lady and ask for someone to come by. I did that yesterday complete with pictures. I know what they are going to say. It is part of settling so we are not responsible. They will probably not even come and look. If so, I am getting an inspector in now and not wait. I want to be sure this is just a settling crack and I want to know if there are any other things I need to be aware of. I feel like I am not able to find the peace and calm I need to try to make some much needed decisions in my life. As long as I have to worry about the next thing to go wrong I will not have peace. Some people here are getting their own contractors in to fix punch list issues as they know this builder is a piece of work. It bothers me because I did look into the builder and did not find red flags. I talked with my agent as she lives and sells real estate in this area and she did not know of any issues. I so like the area, the complex, the layout of the condo, and the people. But the unethical and unprofessional conduct of this builder makes me wish I did not buy here. Jeff is concerned I am going to let it make me unhappy here. I do not want to do another move and I told him that. Unless I have to move for structural or other reasons I am here for good or bad.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Good morning. It stayed at 40 all night, today will be a high of 48, but it's very windy. The windows were rattling this morning. It woke me up and I thought it was the cats on their turbo scratcher, but it was the windows.

@PollyannaMom Your picture made me laugh. If kitty wanted you awake, why is she/he sound asleep after they woke you up? lol!

I may work on putting the elliptical together today, but I think I'm taking a break from cleaning. I think I've gone through every drawer, cabinet, bureau and closet in the house so far. It's just the basement that's left, and that's a LOT, lol

I am making a dent in getting all of the bags and boxes that are filled up the stairs one at a time and at least out to the shed. I broke down a lot of the empty boxes and put them in one large box for the recycle truck this week.

Don's old boss called me last night and asked me to go out to lunch with her today, but since I'm waiting for the cable guy, I had a good excuse to politely decline. I'm not ready yet.

@Snowysmom Oh no to a crack in the basement. It's just one thing after the other. I hope someone can do something about it. You need to feel more settled and to stop finding new problems

Have a good day everyone

Just 🙏Snowysmom and extra❤️

PollyannaMom, I'm sorry your 🐈alarm clock woke you so early. I hope you have a some extra rest today my friend.

Lynn:grouphug:thinking of you with love.

Good Morning and Happy last week of November friends. I am sure praying this week ahead is a huge turning point positively for me. I'm sure going to do all I can to make that happen. This morning so far has been rough. Extra prayers appreciated, thank you. Hug to all. I will check back later.

I want to know why it's snowing here? Snow, snow, go away, don't come back till Christmas day, lol.

The cable guy called at 9:30 to tell me he was sent to check the signal and the signal was fine. I said I know that, the order says install a new box and HDMI cable. He says I don't have one on my truck, I have to go back to the office and get one. I said don't come back unless you have a brand new box, I don't want someone else's problems.
He came back, and proceeds to tell me he's a cable line man, that he's never put one in before. Then why did they send him? Luckily he got it installed and working in less time than the guy who originally put the new ones in.
So far it's working well, I just had to sign into all of my streaming apps again.

Going to make a cup of cocoa and find something to watch. I don't feel like cleaning or putting the elliptical together today. I got some very lovely sympathy cards in the mail from people Don used to work with. Also finally got the Thank You and Snowglobe Christmas stamps I ordered from the post office. It took 11 days to send them priority mail,,what the heck??

All thank you cards are written and ready to mail tomorrow, and I just did the first box of Christmas ones. 2 more things off the list.

Have a nice afternoon

Good morning all!

As @Pea-n-Me said, I used to use the command hooks for stockings, as long as they weren't too heavy. I use them now for the wreaths on the new doors as I don't want to put holes in the doors.
We used some heavy duty ones for the gkids backpacks near the back door. They worked great!
Although the sausage in the stuffing wasn’t quite right. We all noticed it. Normally I buy Jimmy Dean but I couldn’t find it and they had some sausage rolls made in the store. Never again.
Isn't it funny how changing the brand on one ingredient can sometimes change the taste of a recipe?

We went to early service yesterday morning. Our Family Life minister spoke on Giving Thanks. The message was giving thanks in not only good times but bad too. He was filling in since our regular minister was out of town. He is always interesting to listen to and is one of the three men that take turns teaching in our Sunday School class. Here's a link if anyone would like to listen to it:

After church we went to see Joe's oldest brother and his wife. They had just got back the family Bible from having it repaired. Took about a year. It's earliest dates written in the family section is mid 1800's. It's a Catholic Bible and is enormous! Hard back cover and the pages are as big as two 8X11 pieces of paper. Very interesting piece of history. It's been passed down to the firstborn male of each generation having the family last name. Unfortunately there are no first born males after our children's age group, theirs only one boy that is having children and he has five girls.

Then we went out to eat at Spring Creek BBQ. They have servers that walk around periodically handing out rolls. And they were giving out free vanilla Bluebell ice cream while we were there. It was nice to just sit and chat with them. Afterwards we headed home.

Joe went on a service call and I decorated for Christmas. Not a lot of stuff but enough for me. Joe doesn't really care what I put out. Here's a picture of our Christmas tree this year:

Snowy, does it look like yours? I had second thoughts when I hooked it up and pulling out the stockings and stuff. Maybe I should put up the 3' tree I have but didn't want to decorate it. Oh well, there will be packages around it soon enough and will be so easy to store when it's time to put things away for next year.

I've been listening to Christmas songs on the radio when I'm in my car. I turned to that station on Friday and it helps getting in the mood. Most of my shopping is done and I have some stuff arriving over the next couple of days.

This morning I've sort of taken it easy, slept in an hour longer so I've only cleaned the kitchen this morning, put a load of laundry in and picked up Joe where he left his truck to be inspected. I have some work on my desk that I need to attend to.

Ya'll have a nice day!

I would love to have a cocoa party with all of you!:grouphug:God willing one day perhaps we can do just that. Please stay warm and well dear friends and take care. It's getting cooler a bit for here, too. I am doing a bit better than this morning, that was awful. Thanks to God's Grace, I was able to shower earlier. Dad did get some Tiger Balm at Ralph's which we both will try this afternoon. My feet do look a TON better, they just hurt from being used and my doing more to get them well. Doing my best to stay of good faith and be proactive! Have a good afternoon everyone.

Only to me would this happen. The guy puts in a new box this morning and everything worked. I sat down around 2 to watch something, and nothing worked. None of my recorded shows would play, no live tv. Only my streaming apps worked. I went in the bedroom and turned that one on and it told me there was no signal. I call them, get put on a call back list for 6 minutes, and 2 hours later no one had called back. I call and get a recording that they are having issues with their streaming boxes. Here I thought it was the brand new box that was failing and it was them, lol

Summer just left with more stuff. I had 2 contractor bags filled with Don's clothes that one of her friends husbands can use as he's a big man too. She's going to come back later this week and help me put the pantry cabinet together. Her hysterectomy is scheduled for Jan 19.

There's water on the back deck from some rain, and it's starting to freeze now :( (the water on the deck I mean)

Good morning. Cold here again, 32 and only going to about 36 today. It is cold walking weather but it makes me move faster. Not much going on here. Working, walking, housework, and shopping. I went to Target yesterday and got the 2 dogs and 1 cat toys for Christmas. I also got a mat for outside the front door. I was tired of not being able to wipe my feet before coming in. I have all the stocking stuffers and candy I need for the kids and grandkids. I bought Jeff and family a Museum of Science family pass for Christmas. I asked if they wanted one and they were happy to get it. I paid for Kenny's renewal of his pass. This way they get something they will enjoy doing as a family. Of course the kids get some toys too.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Good morning everyone!princess:

Dang, it's cold outside. Today the high is 32, when I left for work earlier it was 18, I finally turned my heat on yesterday.:cold:

I had to take Twix the cat to urgent care last night 🐱. She's all stopped up in her head but I thought she was having trouble breathing, I could hear her breathing from across the room. Since she's 13 I figured she needed to be seen and my vet couldn't get her in for 3 weeks (they will be getting a call from me about this later today). Anyway, they checked her out and she wasn't in respiratory distress but she does have an upper respiratory infection. They gave her a shot of something and some fluids. Last night she just laid on my lap all night. The vet said that since she can't smell she most likely hasn't been eating so tonight I'll give her some tuna, she should be able to smell that.

I'm finally feeling better. Still have the cough but not like it was. 🫢

The boys came over the house on Saturday and fixed some things for me 🔨. Evan put up my ceiling fan/light in the bedroom, and Jacob and Mitchell brought up my dad's huge Hoosier cabinet from the basement and put it in the kitchen. Mia and I ran some errands (needed her to take a nap) and while I was out the boys had decided I needed better lighting in my livingroom. I came home to 4 holes in my ceiling and a hole in the wall where the new light switch was going 😳. Took Evan quite a while to finally get everything together. Jacob and Mitchell also got my Xmas decorations down from the attic. I worked Saturday night and all day Sunday getting my kitchen back together. I have so much more storage now. I put the Xmas lights outside and took all the Xmas Rubbermaid tubs down to the basement. I'll put the decorations out on Sunday. My back and legs were so sore from going up and down the steps so much this weekend 😵‍💫. It was definitely a workout!

Guess I better get to work, have a great day & stay warm!

Good morning, well it's morning anyhow. Its 31 out there, and it's snowing and sticking. They said snow squalls for a while. Schools are already delayed in WV. It's only going to 33 today, and of course it's the day my Sister in law and I chose to go and do Christmas shopping. Their calendars are so full with Drs appointments, it's the only day we could do it. She has a new truck, so we'll take that. Handles better in the snow than my little Ford does. Hopefully the snow won't last long or amount to anything.
I just took the car down to the street twice, filled to the brim with trash bags, boxes, suitcases, etc. for trash tomorrow. That much is done. I still have 2 contractor bags in the shed, plus 4 more in the basement, plus more boxes, and stuff to go, maybe by next week I can get it all out there without the trash men hating me, lol

The snow has stopped, but it's windy and cold. I had the 2 big bunnies outside the back door, along with the 5 outside cats, all waiting for breakfast. The bunnies are so sweet , they come right to me. It's cruel that someone just put them outside to fend for themselves, but the only thing I can do is see that they have some food.

Have a good day everyone.

Tuesday cheer and extra hug to all of you with love! I am waiting for a health-related call back right now. Want to share that a dash of Tiger Balm that I tried last night helped. I will try more in a bit. Walker truly makes a huge difference. I am absolutely by God's Mercy and Will going to do my best this week ahead to make good progress toward the end of this mess! I appreciate forever all of you and your extra love and prayers. Have a good day friends and stay warm!

Afternoon thread save! Feeling tired from needing more sleep, of course. I did use the walker some which always is such a good thing. I also placed an Amazon order for my first package of clear 5X7 pocket horizontal photo sleeves for dad's postcard surprise. I decided the easiest way to compile everything would be in clear pockets inside a regular 3 ring binder or two. I do have a handful of bigger postcards that, if need be, can always sink to the bottom of a full sheet protector page. I want to see how what I'm getting by Sunday would work first. Exciting to be moving more forward with this. My sincere thanks and extra hugs to all who have (and will be contributing) contributed.

I picked a good day to go grocery shopping and do errands. The cold kept people out of the stores. Aldi's was almost empty and I think there were more employees in Walmart than customers. There were 3 guys as door greeters at one end, and 2 at the other. Almost every aisle had 2 or more employees, either stocking shelves, picking up people's orders, or just standing around talking. I don't like shopping for one. Even though I can buy whatever I want to eat, I find it disheartening. I was fine, until I walked down the seasonal aisle and saw Queen Anne Chocolate Covered Cherries, Don's absolute favorite candy at Christmas time. I had to quickly walk out of the aisle before I started crying. The silliest things set me off sometimes.
I stopped at McD's on the way home and got myself a Big Mac and a chocolate shake. I was the only one in the restaurant and there were 2 cars in the drivethru. After waiting almost 15 minutes I asked for a manager. She came out, and went in to find out what the hold up was. No one knew? She had them make me one immediately, and refunded my money. I'll give her props for that. It should only take 3 minutes to make any burger in McD's, not 15. Good thing I wasn't in a rush. I get a craving for one, once or twice a year, and this one was so fresh and good that I really enjoyed it.
Just finished scanning groceries and putting stuff away, and took another 2 bags down to the curb for pick up. I hope when I get up in the morning, the entire pile is gone

We had snow squalls most of the afternoon, along with some sun, but it's still cold and windy. I'm in my pj's, with a cup of hot cocoa with a candy cane melting in it, and I'm going to watch some tv

Have a nice night everyone.
