Happy Sunday morning. Raining here, but temps are in the 60's. Stayed at 60 overnight, same for tonight, tomorrow night down to 35. Crazy weather. I did all my cleaning yesterday so I just had one load of laundry to put in this morning. I made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner last night. Don isn't feeling great, so he didn't eat much. He's calling his doctor tomorrow morning if I have to call her and hand him the phone. Somehow I have the feeling he might end up in the hospital by his birthday (next Sunday.). Reminder to all, we change the clocks next weekend too. Also change smoke and carbon detector batteries if you have battery operated ones.

It's football day, which means he'll watch tv all day. Football and news, and sleep half the time.

@Kirby That's awesome news about James! Whoo hoo!

Have a nice day everyone.

Sending prayers for Don, Lynn! 🙏🏻 I hope he can avoid hospitalization.

PollyannaMom, what a fun class! DD and I were looking at the bright planet next to the beautiful moon last night on our ride home. She looked it up, and I believe she said it was Jupiter? I think she got a pic which I will try to post later. I’d gotten my haircut then we grabbed some Chinese food and did a little shopping.

Mona, I’ve gotten quite a few postcards for Dad now (in our travels, and home), and also picked up some local treats for you guys. I will have to sign them and get them sent out. Soon. I hope you made progress with your health issues.

SpaceMan5, my son is a golfer, also. He loves it, and plays several times a month. It’s a nice sport. Fortunately he knows how to do it relatively cheaply at the local courses! He’d hoped to golf when we were in Arizona last week but he never made it. The heat zapped us quite a bit so we were content to chill in the lazy river where we stayed, but we’d like to go back again at some point.

Thank you for all of your prayers. Things didn’t go the way *I’d* hoped. But I trust enough in God to know that he is on the path he’s supposed to be on, and the universe is with him. It will all work out for him.

Thinking of all of you!

I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday. 🐥

Good morning everyone!

Space Man, enjoy spending time with your son. Blessing you both are able to do that🏌️‍♂️I do admit miniature golf is much more my speed though!

PollyannaMom, 🌠that sounds like such a neat experience. Hugs my friend. I'm so glad you got to go. One of my very favorite Touched by an Angel episodes is A Bringer of Light. My favorite TBAA character Andrew played by John Dye who I absolutely believe is friends with my Grandpa Sam in Heaven (they remind me of each other) teaches astronomy. He helps a family understand that always no matter what God is our Light and is with us with love always.

Lynn, big:grouphug:many prayers for Don and always YOU!💕

:thanks:dear Pea so much. Let me know when you have mailed so I can keep an eye out. Mail here still can be iffy! Health stuff is moving along positively, thanks. I will be making a couple more calls tomorrow. I have taken a very positive step forward already. Thank you and everyone else, of course, for all your extra love and prayers.

Dad is shortly going out on some morning shopping. I look forward to watching online worship. I will check back in later. Hugs to all.

James is looking into which restaurants are serving Thanksgiving dinner so no cooking for me this year. I think it will be good to do something different.
Every year we say we are going to try going out for the holiday. I'm determined to try it the first year neither of the kids come over! A friend of mine has weaned herself off the hustle & bustle cleaning & cooking of the holiday and now she and her husband usually go up to a dinner theater type place in Lancaster, PA area. They enjoy it though she did say it was a rather old crowd.
DS and I will be teeing it up at 11:40am at our local golf course.
Have fun. Taking golf lessons is on my short list. I think I'd enjoy playing it. I haven't got the time - rather I should say I haven't MADE the time yet to call one of the local pro's to arrange for lessons but one day I will.
Don isn't feeling great, so he didn't eat much
I'm sorry he's not feeling great. I hope things turn around for him.

Well good afternoon to you all. It's just after 2 here but I'm exhausted and thinking of skiving off the rest of the day! We were up and about this morning already - had to prune one tree, clear up some brush, do some weeding and pick up a bit of firewood. We had to rake some areas where we put down 40 lbs. of grass seed, plus planted 3 trees. I'm feeling lazy just sitting here on such a nice day. I think I have a soak in the hot tub in my future later this afternoon.

I think dinner will be cheese/leftover rotisserie chicken/crackers/carrots/olives and whatever else I come up with - basically a platter of odds & ends!

So someone else up thread mentioned this already I think - Day Light savings ends next weekend, kinda the start of the end our day-to-day work on the farm. Grapes have been harvested, and I think the last of the mowing may be next weekend. We still sit outside on our porch, still grill year round but with the time change and the weather change there isn't much to be done outside once it's dark by 5 or 5:30. I actually don't mind this time of year to much-I joke that it is my excuse to put on pajamas when I get home since it's dark out! We have been going over our calendar - between holidays, a short vacation to FL, work travel and whatnot it will be April for us in the blink of an eye it seems.

My confirmed Thanksgiving guest list is up to 11 with another 9 possible guests. Unfortunately I've only got 15 of my china plates, so I may need to look into picking up a few more which doesn't really go with growing my set (I was going to start picking up different additional serving dishes).

I'm watching Monty Don...I'd better turn him off before I give myself a few more planting chores over this next week!

Have a nice afternoon everyone.

Good morning, all - though it still looks like the middle of the night here!

I got my Halloween treats all set up yesterday - mixed up the different kinds and filled the "spellbook" and back-up bowl. The weather is supposed to be pretty good Tuesday: chilly but dry. I can't wait to see all the creative costumes this year!

Fingers crossed for Don, Lynn!

Good morning. Cloudy, but the rain is supposed to be gone. We are at 61 now, will drop to a high of 58.
We don't get any trick or treaters, our road is a very long one, with no sidewalks, and very few street lights. I wouldn't feel safe taking kids around here.

We live in a small city. Yet this mornings paper headline makes me wonder what it is with people everywhere now. Early yesterday morning, in the middle of the downtown area, a 17 year old boy was shot and killed and 3 other people wounded. In another section of the city, a man was stabbed.

Don says he feels a little better this morning, I guess he finally got some stuff out of his lungs. We'll see how he feels when he wakes up. He was awake half the night, he couldn't get the mask tight on his fancy cpap machine. He just fell back asleep again.

Nothing else going on here. Have a nice Monday

@lynxstch , sounds like a hard morning for your town, very heartbreaking.

73° right now. Tomorrow is expected to be a hard, chilly rainy day. Yesterday Tom brought my 6 amaryllis plants up to the attic where I give them a month or two of neglect, and hopefully they will bloom again in 2-3 months after that!

Only three more plants to bring in.

We don’t get many trick or treaters, fewer than 5….maybe 0. The Coast Guard base, 3 blocks away has boatloads of candy and treats for the children!

Enjoy your day.

Something like Robitussin or Mucinex round the clock should help loosen some of that stuff, Lynn. And the Arm and Hammer sinus spray/wash if it’s high up in the back of his nose and throat. Hope he feels better soon. I’m sorry to hear about the violence in your area. Sometimes I think our world has gone crazy. Sad, but I’ve had older patients tell me they’re glad they’re leaving it. 😟

We took the dogs out in the rain yesterday morning, they needed to run. Then went out for breakfast. Chilly. Quiet the rest of the day. Last night we made turkey and dumplings for dinner. Very good. Decided that next time we’ll use lots of frozen vegetables as the chopping took forever and we weren’t in the mood for it. (I think we’re all still tired from our trip.) I thought adding some cranberries to the dumplings would add a little sweetness to the dish, and it did. I have the feeling we’ll be making that often.

Agree with others, today is dark and chilly. That time of year. I have to double check to make sure I have Halloween candy to give out, I know I bought some earlier. We usually sit outside to give out candy, but if it’s cold, forget it, lol. On Saturday my community had a huge Halloween fest. Traffic was congested, but it was nice to see families out, even with their pets, trick or treating. All the businesses were decorated and giving out candy. So we may not see many kids out going house to house. It’s probably safer to do it during the daytime anyway.

Toto has a vet appt today but he’s not finished w the antibiotic so I’m going to change it to when he is. I think the tech who scheduled it didn’t realize I was waiting a week to start it due to our trip. I am contemplating having him shaved down next grooming to sort of start over with his hair due to the skin issues. No one else likes the idea, though. His hair is so adorable and nice and clean. We‘ll see. His skin right now is good. I think I told you one vet I saw thinks it’s allergies from something getting on his fur while he’s outside. It‘s only a problem on his undercarriage.

Planning to watch the World Series Game 3 tonight and was thinking about making nachos for it. A good night to hunker down. I have to keep going with my clothes and my room but not really in the mood for that today. Maybe tomorrow. No real rush. After that I have a work stretch. Ugh.

Have a good Monday, everyone! 🐥

Extra hug and prayers dear Lynn all-around my friend.

To all watching, enjoy Game 3 tonight indeed!

I will be making some health calls this morning in a bit--too early still now. Harder night last night. Grace of God I did get some good rest though.

Love to all always you know that :)

@Pea-n-Me He's been taking Mucinex twice a day for at least a week now. Maybe it's just starting to work?
I think it depend what form you take it in - the liquid form is every 4 to 6 hrs? The pill form may be every 12? It should thin out the secretions to make them less viscous so they break up and can be coughed up. It can take a while to work, especially if secretions are super thick, like some of them have been these days. If it’s fluid, it won’t come out.
