Good Morning (Not feeling an exclamation point today 😔 )

Glad your son had a good night PollyannaMom. Let’s hope for more. 🤞 Is there anything he did that helped?

Mona, you could try some voltaren cream. It’s sold over the counter now and it’s a bit pricey, but patients really like it. And it helped my mother when not much else did. You could also try some icy hot type gels. There might be a little inflammation from walking if you‘re not used to it. Ibuprofen can help that, as well. It will be important to keep building up strength in your legs and feet, but you’ll need to do it carefully and gradually. You could try ice on the spot when you come home from your outings which will also help decrease inflammation.

Glad to hear about upcoming trips. We have two this fall, one for DD’s graduation and one for a wedding in FL that will have a side trip to Disney. Can’t wait for either. I haven’t been paying much attention to the upcoming hurricane with all the sadness we’ve had going on here. I did see on the news last night it looks like it may not hit us directly as much as previously thought, but we will still feel some of the effects of it. We are in an area that floods so we have to be careful. I hope you do not experience any delays in your trip Snowysmom. 🍀

We had a ton of rain the other night and it ruined my geraniums. They had been looking so lovely. Next time I pull them out of the rain. They were spotty all summer due to all the rain. But wildly, my New Guinea impatien was the best one I’ve ever gotten. We had a lot of things in the garden (tomatoes, basil, peppers) that we pulled last night, and I made a pasta primavera with them that was so good. Some of us had shrimp on top. (DD hates seafood.)

We have been busy here preparing for funeral services, which are today and tomorrow. 😔 Boys still have to get their clothes ready 😬 hopefully they’re all set. DD and I shopped yesterday and got our nails done. I really like the parafin wax they put on your feet, so I had it put on my hands, as well. So soft! I might do that more often. It was so hot and muggy by the time we got home and dragged all the bags in we wound up going in the pool for a while. My problem with that is that by the time I get halfway in, I’m cold. But it felt good to cool down. I’m struggling with what to wear today and tomorrow for that reason. I wish it was just a bit cooler out, then I’d be all set.

I hope everyone has a good Wednesday. 🐥

Do you keep your geraniums for the next spring? I would dig mine up at the end of the season and put them in pots and store them in my basement or garage. Next spring I would bring them out and it took them a while to bloom but they looked nice. I've had one for 4 years and this would have been the 5th but it didn't get going by the summer. My dad used to do this.

:grouphug: ❤️always to all of you always!

Pea, :) you are actually the third person to suggest voltaren. My concern besides cost is the possible side effects and that it seems to be meant more arthritis. Dad suggested and he's right, overall better cushioning would help. The slippers I have on now (first pair I bought) are too wide and low in the back for me. I have long and narrow feet. My feet aren't being cushioned or supported much in them. Newer slippers fit better but my feet are so sore that I haven't worn them yet really. Feet really feel tight besides hurt overall :( Definitely not used to being active! Positive and also right now not. Always a bright side, I pray to give praise in all. I do wish, of course, for relief! I will be looking into options this morning. Do you think, btw, my can of Pain Ease would do anything? I still have some of that. Many extra prayers of peace to dear you! Good to see a post from you as well, of course, you know that.

Snowysmom, hugs and weather prayers absolutely. You need a stress-free break, dear friend which you know I pray is exactly what you will experience💕

PollyannaMom, extra praise to God! Continuing prayers with love, of course extra, to all of you! 🐥💛

Footballmouse:hug:and please take care and stay dry, my friend☔

Have a good day everyone. I'll check back later.

Good morning. I'm late. We had issues with our TIVO yesterday. I had to call, in order to find out that they are having a lot of issues with them and are going to have to change them all out. We are getting a streaming box on Friday. Then they had everything messed up and told me our monthly bill was going to be $260 and I lost it. I said it's not, or I am cutting the cord. I called the retention department this morning and got a super nice lady. She said whoever did it had everything wrong. No auto pay, charged 99.00 for installation (which is free), didn't have our discounts on it, etc. She wiped everything out and redid it at a great discount. Faster internet for no charge, a free pod, 2 streaming boxes, 1 normal size for living room and one mini for bedroom. Our auto pay is on it, free installation and she gave us a $40 discount on the internet. They are coming Friday to put it all in. We also did away with the landline, it's nothing but spam calls, it's rung 5x in the last 2 weeks. Our bill went down to less than $175, which is less than we've been paying for the last year. It's still a lot, but it's our only source of entertainment, and Don watches it all day and all night most of the time.

It's sunny out and the temp will be mid 70's. AC is off, and windows are open. Getting ready to go grocery shopping and do errands.
@PollyannaMom Glad to hear your son is doing a little better, continued prayers that he keeps it up

Have a nice day everyone.

My feet aren't being cushioned or supported much in them.

I'm wondering .... in this day & age, many of our insurance companies offer telehealth type consultations. You might see if something along those lines is available. You might be able to speak to someone who can help prescribe a course of action in terms of walking or movement to get your feet back in shape/used to moving and/or recommend a better pair of shoes. Have you thought that the slippers just aren't providing the needed support and perhaps you should be wearing something considerably more supportive? If you don't care to walk in the neighborhood you live in, perhaps you could drive to a local/state or national park and get some walking in? Part of keeping our bodies moving is moving our bodies. "use it or lose it" so-to-speak! Sometimes just getting out and moving our bodies and getting some fresh air into our lungs can be beneficial both physically and mentally.

DS made it through the night without his stomach waking him up :cheer2: so I'm hopeful for today to be the recovery day. Wish us luck.🤞
So glad to read this!
Wow, did it rain yesterday around here 🌧️
We got a lot of rain overnight as well. I think we are good for a while!!
I’m struggling with what to wear today and tomorrow for that reason. I wish it was just a bit cooler out, then I’d be all set.
This time of year can be difficult. We were sitting outside the other day in the afternoon/early evening. My husband had been working outside and had his shirt off. So we were sitting there for a bit and he says "I don't even want to say it...but I'm going to say it. I think I may be chilly!" So he went from no shirt to long sleeve shirt in about 20 minutes. Around about now I start carrying around a sweatshirt or sweater and play the 'Am I chilly? Am I hot?" game ha ha!
On a serious note, I know today and tomorrow will be a bit difficult for you & your family. Good thoughts to you & yours over the next days.

📺prayers Lynn! I hear you on cost. Spectrum sure charges us a fortune out here for cable. We also bundle for Wi-Fi/internet/and landline.

Thank you dear Easyas, yes, I have indeed though the issue is both my slippers and simply my legs and feet aren't used to being active. A CVS pharmacist this morning tried...she wasn't overly listening (I don't think) either. We did end up getting CVS brand of basically Asper Cream it sounds like. I haven't tried it yet. Dad did leave a message for his primary to recommend a podiatrist. Hopefully we hear back. Meantime we did get at a 99 Cent Only Store some foam-y insoles that can't hurt any (I hope)!

:thanks:all for the extra love and prayers. Please take care of your 🦶!

Voltaren cream is for inflammation. It’s an NSAID cream. Arthritis is just one form of Inflammation. I have the feeling from your story that some of the structures in your feet (not just bones but ligaments and tendons, etc.) have become inflamed, and if that’s the case, it should offer some relief. As I said, patients really like it from what I have seen.

Thanks so much, Pea. Dad's primary did recommend a podiatrist. We will be looking up his info shortly. I haven't yet tried the CVS cream. Do you think it would help? Right now, my poor left foot especially sure is unhappy :( I appreciate you always my friend!❤️

Good evening thread save! Quiet afternoon around here as in this thread and in this apartment, too :) Dad's primary did recommend a podiatrist who I reached out to. Tomorrow morning, I will be calling a podiatrist recommended by a local friend who is a current patient of hers. She's affiliated with a major valley hospital and got all positive reviews. Dad's doctor's recommendation, of course, did, too. The trouble there is the price for the consult! :scared1:Even the kind receptionist felt badly about that! Blessing to have options that is for sure. Meantime, in the morning, I will try wearing my other new slippers which are much more supportive than the wide, low slippers I have been wearing. I realized that a culprit in my heel pain is that because these slippers are not only way too wide (I have narrow, long feet) they are also too overall big. My feet slide between the top and back which isn't helping them at all :( Dad pointed out and he's absolutely right, the other part to all this is, of course, the womanly transition I'm in called perimenopause! I had been so hopeful of making it to the elusive 1 year mark this year. Didn't quite happen so am starting over. I definitely know from those who have been there and done that, feet issues of all kinds happen right now including exactly what I have been enduring.

I haven't yet tried the cream. It seems to be a numbing cream. CVS brand of Asper Cream. I do well remember how my Pain Ease spray made a life-changing difference years ago to me with so much set in sore facial muscle pain! I realize the same may well be true today with my feet. I am thinking it maybe would still be a good idea to reach out to the podiatrist first? I don't know. Depending on how my feet are doing later may decide for me!

Wishing all of you a good night of course with sweet dreams and love.

Another vote here for Voltaren. @flyingdumbo127 - Pea is probably spot on about the pain's origin being inflammation.

Thanks, Judique! Dear Pea, please know I sure appreciate YOU always and thank you with all my heart for you and your always kind and spot on advice! We are so blessed in so very many ways to have YOU as a Quacker family member! Early tomorrow morning, I'll be calling the podiatrist my friend recommended and go from there. I will keep all of you updated. Extra huge ❤️to Pea!

Happy Friday-Eve!

Picked up the pool that I won from the auction site for Evan's yard.👍

The weather has been so nice here this week (minus the rain the other day). I want to turn my air off and open the windows but Chili the cat likes to tear the screens and get out through the window 😠. I just don't want the other cats to follow her b/c they aren't used to being outside like she is. I'm trying to come up with something that won't let her slide the screen open. I have to get the retractable screens from Home Depot b/c not all my windows have screens. I'm open to suggestions if you have any.

Watched the Reds game last night ⚾. I atleast made it through more of the game than I did the other night! Whenever I work the nightshift weekend, the lack of sleep usually hits me on Tuesday.😴

Not much else happening. I'll probably get the litter boxes and yard cleaned up today after work, garbage night, and then tomorrow night I can get the house cleaned and laundry done :laundy:. I work dayshift this weekend so no day off to get things done. Glad I put out my Halloween decorations last weekend. I'll have to get some meal prepping done also Friday night so I have food for the weekend. I'm really trying to eat better and not order out for lunch with everyone.

Well the bosses have arrived so I better get back to work. Have a great day!

Good sunny morning. Another early fall day, it was 51 when I got up, going to 75 later. I got all of my errands done yesterday and did grocery shopping. Walmart must have hired a bunch of seasonal workers, there were way too many employees standing around doing nothing. Usually it's hard to get 1 at the deli, yesterday there were 5 of them, and 4 were standing around looking bored. They had 3 people at each door checking receipts and greeting people. Seemed stupid to me.

I just ordered myself a new laptop online. My combination anniversary and birthday present, lol. I have my phone, and the pc, but sometimes when I'm in the bedroom at night, I want to message or email, and I find the phone keyboard to be a pain. I ordered it on walmart's website. I had picked one out, and had it in my cart, but the phone rang and I didn't click order. I came back 10 min later and it was no longer available. I went back to the item page and the only one that was left was the touch screen one. Quite a bit more $$. Don said just order it, so I did. Then the phone rings and it's our banks fraud department. They flagged the purchase, lol. I had to punch a bunch of #'s in to verify I made the charge (and all of the ones I made yesterday). Then I called the local branch and asked them to make sure it hadn't been declined. He said it was approved, but after they flagged it they blocked my card. He unblocked it and apologized. I'm glad they're on top of it, but when that happens in person at a store, it's embarrassing. I told the guy, they didn't bat an eye when I bought something for $2500, yet they flagged a $500 purchase? lol. He said they're random for sure. Then I find out that the item is only coming from the local store anyhow, and will be delivered today. I would have bought it yesterday if I had known they had one. But then it probably would have been flagged while I was standing at the check out, lol

Off to get a few chores done. Maybe I'll get that kitchen bench painted today, finally.

Have a great day!

Walmart is probably gearing up for Black Friday and the Xmas holiday buying season, plus it's possible they lost staff when seasonal workers went back to school.

I replaced my last laptop because breaking the screen a little bit meant it still worked as a regular laptop, but the touchscreen function wouldn't work properly and we had to disable it. I had been long spoiled by touch. Once you get used to it, you will probably be spoiled also. Enjoy your new tech!

We used to have cat-proof screens. I think we got them at Ace Hardware?

:wave:Good Morning quickly. In just a little while at 8 here, when they open, I'll be calling Dr. Y's office. Dr. Y is a long-time podiatrist of a local friend. Dad and I read up on her yesterday. She's affiliated with a major hospital out here and got all good reviews, sounds positive. :thanks:all so much for all your extra love, care, and prayers!

Lynn:grouphug:glad you got yourself for a change a gift!

Happy Thursday to all with love. PollyannaMom, many prayers your DS had a good night's rest!

Dr. Y's receptionist couldn't have been any sweeter. Her first name even starts with an M like my own. I have a 9:45 appointment. Dr. Y's charge is very high for us but still less than the starting at $300 yesterday! M, from my brief description if foot issues, agreed that it sounded to her as though my feet are simply reacting to being active again! I'm very thankful to God to be able to get a professional opinion and from someone who truly is respected by a friend and so far, sounds so very nice.

Good afternoon dear 🐣

Blessing to share that Dr. Y couldn't have been any kinder a🦶doctor. Everyone in her office was so nice. I have a follow-up appointment in 3 weeks, Extra praise to God all-ar0und for sure including for peace of mind after today's visit. Dr. Y assured me that absolutely what's causing my poor feet to be so unhappy is that they are once again active after being pretty dormant for 3 1/2 years! Dr. Y gave me a sheet with some suggested exercises I try 3X a day. I'll do that starting tomorrow. She also recommended never walking around the house again in only 🧦I knew that, of course, already! More supportive slippers and shoes will also be most helpful. She suggested Asics Gel👟 which I believe years ago I did wear. Grandma years ago, wore SAS and Easy Spirit shoes. I noticed SAS are on her recommended list. I'll look into options. As far as my Skechers? Dr. Y said it's her opinion that there are more supportive shoes. :scared1:I don't think I'll be racing to get her suggested slippers of Oofos anytime soon! Wow they sure aren't cheap!

As far as the majority pain causing culprit...it's a tendon in my left foot especially that is inflamed and raised a bit due to that. Dad and I did go by Target on our way where we got Voltaren gel (thanks everyone especially Pea for the recommendation on that initially)! that Dr. Y said should make an immediate difference to me. I sure pray it will. I'll be trying it in a little while...although I may wait until after my shower tonight...She said I can use it twice a day or so as needed and not very much. Dr. Y did stress the exercises should overall help more. Sure, hope they both do :) Thank you, thank you dear Quackers for all your prayers and extra love. Please don't ever take your feet for granted! Never not use them for going on 4 years either!

No word yet, btw, from Dr. E my dentist. He did say last week he was busier this month and would be contacting me this week. He still may this afternoon or tomorrow. Should I not hear from him by next Tuesday, I'll call him :)

Have a good rest of the afternoon:grouphug:

@flyingdumbo127 Glad you saw the doctor and now have some help to ease your pain. Oofos are very expensive. I wear Asiscs Gel Contend shoes and love them. They have good arch and foot support and are in the mid priced range. Sometimes they are on sale on shoes.com, Amazon has a good price, and Kohls occasionally has sales. I hope the pain cream helps.

@Pea-n-Me Thinking of you and your family. 🙏

Good morning. It is cool here today 53, and going only into the mid 60s. Hurricane Lee is supposed to be passing by later today and into tomorrow morning. Hopefully we don't get alot of rain and wind. I am going over to the condo so the painters can come in and take care of a small area near the front door that has black marks that won't wash off. I am also going to check the basement. I always say a prayer before going down there! I know the rain we have had is not usual for our area so I guess finding a small damp area is not the end of the world but I am so against any water in the basement. Some people a few towns northwest of us had such bad flooding in their homes. One woman came home to 6 feet of water in her basement. She said she never had water in the basement before. Roads were flooded out and there is a sinkhole in the town.

I am getting ready for my trip on Sunday. I am anxious of course as I have no idea how this is going to go. I have no expectations and will take it as it comes. I hope to be able to clear my mind, make no decisions other than when to get a mickey bar or when to eat, and no listening to the news for sure. When I come back I have some decisions to make so I want to have a clear mind and be able to think. Right now decisions are a challenge for me. My allergies are raging and I am coughing and have the usual post nasal drip. I just hope people don't think I have covid as I don't. I also think I may be allergic to the cat. I felt better when I was in the office yesterday and when I came back to Kenny's my allergies got worse. He does have alot of goldenrod growing in the back yard area. That could be it too.

Have a good day.
