I'd like to just ditto all the aboveLynn put it all pretty succinctly!

No corned beef for us today, and I'm not wearing green. No reason other than I didn't think about it! But my new truck will be delivered to me in the next 30 minutes and it is green, so does that count????

Will have a scotch this evening with my husband in honor of our immigrant grandparents and great grandparents who trudged on over the pond from Ireland and Wales so that we could wear green and celebrate a slave brought to Ireland who brought a new God to the people there. True, a bit of a different take on it than others! Maybe we will pipe in the mass from St. Patrick's if they replay the one from this morning.

I've got some phone calls to make on behalf of a work comp claimant. Have a good morning everyone!

I have corned beef but am saving it for tomorrow, to see if Don feels like eating it. It will be a double celebration, tomorrow marks 23 years since I moved here! No wonder it feels like forever, lol! So far today Don is doing better, the bathroom issues have started to resolve. But it makes no sense. His PCP says to take Metamucil 3x a day and add more fiber. To me, that would only contribute to the diarrhea problem he's had. The nurse should call back today and see if they can get a home health aide nurse to come and check him out.

The first wall is tiled, and the trim is up. Dave went to lunch and we will finish the other 3 walls. We might even get to start the grouting today!

Our big chain of chili restaurants in Cincy (Skyline Chili), is having green spaghetti today (they always do this on St. Patty's day). Unfortunately the chili goes on top of the spaghetti and since it's Friday I can't eat meat so I won't be able to get my 3-way. Maybe Jesus will give us Cincinnati Catholics a free pass for today since we are celebrating a saint.

Can you all please keep my best friends family in your thoughts and prayers? Their dad had a medical emergency the other night. They are meeting with the Drs today and it's not expected to be good news. I was there with her at the hospital when her mom died years ago and I know it would help to be with her today but I can't get myself to do it. I think I have PTSD from all that time in the hospital with my mom. I'm praying I'm still a comfort to her from a far.

Gus’s liver is improving, but not where it should be yet. Another month of one medication, and two weeks of antibiotics.

Glad they are improving and hope next month shoes every more improvement after his next round of treatment.

It's beginning to look like a bathroom!

Me too...Im only 5'1" LoL I usually have to buy capri or crop pants and they fit me like regular pants. LoL I buy my jeans from Torrid because they have extra short length.

DS received some good news today. He has a transplant date, April 24th.

Aimee helped me visualize the various touches and choose a wall color that should go with everything and be easy to paint over if I decide to change colors over time. She has an eye for color and detail.

Skyline Chili

I've always wanted to try that. Looks so good every time I see it. I know locally the Steak N Shake chain offers the chili with spaghetti but we've had bad experiences there so we don't go often. Maybe I'll have to give it one more try to try the chili.

Good afternoon and Happy St. Patrick's Day.

I am wearing the green to celebrate my Irish Heritage. 3 of my 2X great grandparents were Irish Immigrants. My one great-great grandfather was an Irish activist here in the US and helped plan the Easter Rebellion in Ireland. He even corresponded with William Butler Yeats, . When he passed away hundreds of people came from up and down the east coast to pay their respects. Sadly he died before the Rebellion took place but it's still sort of interesting that he wanted to free Ireland. Dinner is Corned Beef and it is in the crock pot and I am drinking my Shamrock Shake. So all is good.

Anthony's game was canceled yesterday so I will have to wait til next week to see him play. I hope the weather stays nice.

I keep hearing them talk about it on the Catholic radio show I like to listen to - Seems some can and some can't. Not sure how it works but seems to be a big topic of discussion! Our Diocese granted a dispensation (is that the right term) for the day.

A Expedition. Needed the room, used to have a Yukon XL so I decided to go back to something bigger than what I had been driving (Lincoln SUV) plus I needed a heavy duty towing package & 4 wheel drive, which I didn't have.

Absolutely. What a hard time to be going thru, wishing your friend, her husband and family peace today.

Well our rain has started, well drizzle really. Looks like just a damp & cloudy kinda afternoon I guess. I'm thinking a cup of tea might be just the thing this afternoon. It's not really cold out...just dreary.

Dinner will probably be a simple chicken & lentil soup w/ I *hope* fresh bread. I'm terrible at bread, it's my great regret. Both my grandmothers had a talent when it came to bread making, but I didn't inherit it! Believe me - I've tried over & over again, used books. Everything. No dice. BUT I usually make out okay when I buy the frozen bread dough and make that. So I got some out this morning to thaw all day, so we will see how it looks around 5 PM, hope it's ready to bake. I checked it at lunch and it wasn't looking to promising But we'll see! Worse comes to worst I have some sourdough from the bakery in the freezer.

I just got back from picking out my countertops etc. Aimee's help yesterday helped me while making choices. I do not like decorating at all so it is a chore for me. I did have to change the wall color a bit as they did not have the shade we were looking at. So I brought up the shade we were looking at on my phone and matched it to a different color swatch. I hope it works. If not, the kids will be painting my walls sooner rather than later. I picked out all the drawer and cabinet hardware, rugs etc. While I was there a woman came over to tell me the guy I was waiting to see would be over soon. She lives there and loves it. We talked for about 10 minutes. She told me they have game night, book club, ad hoc meetings when something needs to be discussed as well as pot luck dinners. She said everyone is nice and it is a nice community. They all try to work together. I look at this as a sign. My closing date is June 14 subject to change if needed. I have to get appliances and shades in before I can move in so I figure I will be in there sometime in early July. I also had a long conversation with the guy who is the point person for the people buying. He told me about where to send the condo fee, internet and cable, a got a list of the utilities to contact, and we just had a nice conversation in general. Another sign I had today was a hawk flying right at my windshield, staring at me, and he flew up just before he would have hit the car. I find that when I am anxious and feeling depressed that I get signs. I feel like today was a good mix of signs.

Dinner tonight is a Thanksgiving turkey wrap. I love those. No corned beef as I do not want alot of leftovers. I may buy some corned beef at the deli next week and make a baked corned beef and cheese melt on whole grain bread. That is yummy too. I looked to see if the local grocery had dinners made up but they did not. I did get some sauteed veggies to go with the wrap.

Glad for new cars, new condos, almost finished renovation projects, trips, recovered photos, etc., and everyone here is always in my prayers. Special hugs for dazed. Thinking of others we haven’t seen for a while, too.

I did not buy a corned beef this year (haven’t had good luck with them they shrink) and I don’t have green-green scrubs, but I do have a leprechaun I’m wearing along with some green jewelry. DH made a dessert for me to bring into work and put some shamrocks on them. I do have Irish heritage on my mother’s side (along with French; and Italian and Swedish on my father’s side. DH is Italian and Scottish).

That’s all I have time for. I hope everyone enjoys their Friday night going into the weekend.

I looked to see if there were any online and I can't find any. Rodney was deaf at birth and gradually went blind as an adult. I remember when he spoke at the church I was attending back in the 80's. He not only spoke his sermon but signed it as well.

Do any of you use swim shirts and shorts instead of a bathing suit? I thought that those might fit me better so bought some. The shirt seems too loose but I don't know how they are supposed to fit.

Good Morning. Good thoughts and prayers to all. I have not heard from Frog3101. I hope she is doing as well as she can be and the kids are OK.
@Pea-n-Me Nice looking dessert your DH made. I hope he is feeling better.

Kirby I wear a swim skirt and separate top and use a SPF shirt to cover the top. The shirt does fit loosely. I like it alot as I feel covered and yet able to enjoy the pool the one time I actually got to use it at WDW. In May I will be trying it out at Castaway Cay on my cruise. I feel comfortable in it.

It is in the forties today, going into the 50s. I just got back from my first walk of the day and heard a cardinal calling. I could not spot him but heard him very clearly. It will be a quiet weekend here. Kenny is in Boston for the weekend. I did ask Jeff to see when I could stop by to play with the grandkids. I didn't have time on Thursday. I will be doing house work, going to Target, walking, and doing a bit of work work. I always try to catch up a bit on the weekend.

Good morning. Sunny out, but cold, temps only in the mid 40's today.

I get a break today until Dave finishes doing brakes for someone. I am taking advantage to dust and vacuum and clean the downstairs bath. I just got the corned beef ready for the crockpot. Will turn it on around 10. Don says he will have some, but pass on the cabbage. I'll make red potatoes and carrots to go with it. We never got a call back from his Dr's office yesterday, no surprise there.

It was 23 years ago today that I moved here from MA to MD. Time flies, no wonder I feel old, lol!

It's a darker, overcast morning here but no rain. Dad will be going to Pavilions (he typically shops there once a week and Ralphs, where we buy a lot more from, including their Kroger store brand products, twice a week) We did have a welcome Pavilions Saturday surprise. I always try to check our Pavilions online account every Saturday to see whether there is a free offer or Saturday Sampler as it's also called. These offers always have to be clipped so that they're added onto your card on Saturday. No free offer today. Something better $5 off a purchase of $5! We are most grateful for that

expected later and tomorrow. I'm praying that should it be raining tomorrow, the LA Marathon is rescheduled. I would feel badly for anyone participating to get all wet! All is quiet otherwise.
