Quick hi from me, too, before I get ready to head off to Dr. C's for a second opinion. Thank you all so much for your encouragement to do this and prayers. I will share later about my visit. Lynn, so glad you found Marble indeed. Snowysmom, ITA with what Taz wrote. I continue to keep you in new condo choosing prayers. Love to all of you. I will check back in later.

Home from the doctor's and I am truly thankful I got Mikey there. He has a badly ingrown toenail that became so infected it started bleeding. Sort of gross, sorry. If we had waited, he may have needed a drastic step taken like partial amputation. Three shots of Novocain and he was still feeling pain in the one spot, so I held him, sort of hugged him, and rubbed his chest to try and help him get through the treatment. I think some of it was imagined but Mikey is Autistic and sometimes isn't easy to calm down. I am sure it was a bit painful but probably not nearly as bad as he had built it up in his mind. Stopped on the way home to get the things he needs to take care of it. Mainly Epsom Salts and an antibiotic ointment. He will also be on an antibiotic and sees the doctor again next week for follow-up care. I think he is getting the wrong size shoes and not good ones so I am hoping while they are off from school for spring break to take him to a New Balance store. I want him fitted and a good pair of shoes on his feet even if I need to buy them.

@flyingdumbo127 - Hope you get some good news from the dentist. I still avoid them as much as possible. I have a terrible dentist phobia.

Now I am in for the day although I may try and go to the supermarket for some ground meat. It's National Meatball Day evidently and I am now in the mood for Spaghetti and Meatballs. Hope you all have a good afternoon.

Wow, that is so painful! Did he have to get the ingrown toenail cut out? Poor guy.😟

They could only cut out a little bit of it because he was crying in pain even after the Novocain. Hopefully the antibiotics and soaks help it heal so they can treat it some more. I felt so bad for him, but I am hoping getting him better fitting shoes will help solve some of his issues. The dr. agreed that could be an issue. I just don't want him to have to deal with this or the consequences if it had spread. I know what we have gone through with Jim and his feet and I don't want that for any of my grandkids.

:grouphug:to Mikey and to you, dear Taz! I am so sorry he had to go through that. :( Prayers indeed! Thank you for your dentist well wishes. I did appreciate very much being able to get a second opinion, especially at no charge! Dr. C confirmed what my own dentist Dr. E had said that an old filling has a hole and the tooth a cavity. Dr. C said a simple filling would take care of it. I thanked him, of course, very much. He and his staff appreciated the cookies dad and I brought. I won't be going back as a patient. I feel much more comfortable with Dr. E. Now I know and that is a blessing. My plan is to contact Dr. E as soon as dad makes an appointment for himself (he's fine :)) so we don't both have an appointment on the same day. I would so much rather know the filling is taken care while still very small and be done with it. I will beforehand be making certain that like my last experience seeing my beloved retired dentist. Dr. M, Dr. E agrees that this current filling would be no big deal and quick as well. Dental Fear Central is a site I found way back in 2009 when I was anxious not so much about the actual root canal, I needed but about the Novocain shot needed before it. I've never had a true dental fear just of needles and didn't know until the root canal appointment that such things as topical gels are available to numb gums before needed dental injections. I haven't used the linked forum since 2010 but it was a wonderful comfort at the time. Prayers always to you and Jim!

@bobbiwoz hugs for you guys and Gus.
@flyingdumbo127 I'm glad your dentist appt went well and you got reassurance your dentist is the right.
@tazdev32 for poor Mickey's toe. DH has had to have his removed twice now for an ingrown and it was painful for him.
@lynxstch Your bathroom is getting done fast, hopefully Dave get called away to plow for too long. Hope Don starts feeling better too.
@footballmouse glad you got some Mia time. Hope you can find a stroller. Too bad we weren't closer, I know someone giving one away right now.
@Snowysmom hope looking at the condo today helps you decide whether the new build is the right place for you.
@Pea-n-Me love that tile your DD picked out.

Been busy trying to get ready for my trip tomorrow so haven't been online much. I'm starting to get nervous so hoping everything goes smoothly tomorrow. Looking forward to my time in Washington and sounds like we'll be going across the border into Canada while I'm there. I'll be coming home late Tuesday night.

@AuntieMe3 Have a nice trip.

@flyingdumbo127 Glad your appt went well. Now you know so you can move forward.

@TazDev Hope your DGS feels better soon. Foot issues are so painful.

Good morning. It is cold here at Kenny's 26. I did have an interesting day looking at 2 condos in the complex I liked. I realized the complex is actually very crowded with buildings and not alot of green space. The first condo was really lovely and very elegant. They did renovations and did not spare any expense. The kitchen was out of home beautiful. It was overwhelmed by all the cabinets, the glass fronted cabinets, and counters. There were so many windows, high ceilings, and a master bath that was amazing. It had marble tiles, a beautiful glass shower, and a soaking tub. The room was huge. It was really such an elegant place and so not me. No deck, but a patio that was spaced between a retaining wall and the condo. I tried to love it, I tried to picture myself living there in 2250 sq ft of opulence, but I just could not do it. It was just too much and a bit intimidating to have to clean and heat. The second condo was a no from the minute I walked in the door, Plus the road it was on in the complex was narrow and crowded with town houses. No green space. I told my agent all this and then told her the new build was for me. Of course she could not tell me what she thought until I told her my decision but she agrees with me. On the way back to Kenny's house I stopped by the new build condo complex and it is full of green space, very country, and it looks like a neighborhood. Jeff will be seeing it tomorrow.

I am off work today, doing some errands and walking. I enjoy walking around Kenny's area.

Have a good day.

Good Friday morning.☁️

Working from home today. I was told yesterday that our new boss will be changing my hours 🤬. I was hired on 5 days a week from 7:30-4:00. That was the normal. Then COVID came and when I went back it was remote 2 days, office the other 3 and I moved my hours to 6:30-3:00. Never had any problems or complaints, still able to get my work done. Well now this new boss wants me in the office while she's there so I have to go back to 7:30-4 and I'm only allowed to work from home on Fridays. I am so mad about this.😡 I'm wondering if she's going to let me work 1/2 days on Fridays when summer rolls around like I did last year. Don't think I'll be able to do the product studies that I try to get on b/c the last appointments are usually 4:00. There's extra money down the drain.🤬

I was in such a bad mood yesterday and last night 😣. You would think that would be the perfect time to go to the gym and workout, get my stress out, but no, I go to Chipotle instead 🌮. Then I was mad at myself about that. My sister texted all of us sisters and said that when she got home from the store yesterday, my brother-in-law surprised her by booking a cruise that leaves in 10 days. Then I was mad that I can't do stuff like that. I was just having myself a huge pity party!😩

Snowysmom - sounds like you found your new place. Glad you were able to rule the other 2 out and that took care of any questions or doubts you may have had.

Well I have to go and do a quick clean of the house, Miss Mia is coming over early today. Have a great day!

Good morning. We have light rain and 40 degrees. Frostburg to the left of us about 20 min has 32 and a winter weather advisory. But only for 2" of snow. Dave hasn't called to say he got called to plow, so I'm hoping he gets here soon. I need, and want to take a long hot bath tonight!

@footballmouse :grouphug: 's

@Snowysmom It sounds like you have found the place you want to call home. I am so happy for you. I don't think I could live alone in a big place like you saw yesterday. I would finish cleaning one end and have to start all over again.

@flyingdumbo127 --Mona, I'm glad your dentist visit went well, and that you got the second opinion you were looking for.

@AuntieMe3 --Have a great, and safe trip!

Don seems to be feeling at least a little better. He's eating lightly, but it's more than last week! Thank you all for the continued good wishes for his health. (Extra thanks to you Mona!)

Off to get laundry done before we get working on the bathroom. A lot of progress should get done if he gets here early enough. He did have to make another Lowe's run for another piece of pipe, some pvc glue, and a hole saw blade. Men just don't listen. I always buy extra things, I would rather have them when I need them, and return them if not needed later. He's probably been to Lowes 10x already since we started, lol

Have a great day

Good Morning.
We got about 8 inches of snow overnight and it is still snowing. I am dreading the clean up, it is a very wet, heavy snow.

I am supposed to be leaving very early Sat. morning to visit DD and family to celebrate Margot’s 2nd birthday. It is bittersweet, I want to see the grands but I want Kris to be with me. I cry whenever I think about him (and us)missing out. She lives 4 hours away, and I’m also a little nervous about the drive, it is suppose to snow the day we return also. Our DS is driving with me so at least I’m not alone.

Snowysmom…. I’m glad you went to see the other condos, it seems like it gave you some clarification. This is not to make you more unsure, but, no new home is ever going to feel truly like home, because your beloved Chris is not with you.
As you have experienced whatever position you are faced with does not seem right. This will get better for us, hopefully. I just don’t want you to be disappointed if your new place still doesn’t feel right, how could it?

Mona… glad your appt. eased your mind. Thank you for the advice on not isolating myself. I know you are right, but, I just can’t help it, not now.

@AuntieMe3 enjoy your trip!
@Snowysmom , I am so happy you found your special place.

Gus has been much better since the hard night. He gets bloodwork done on Wednesday.

I am making Mac and Cheese in crock pot for my first time. Tom shredded the cheese, and as I look at the recipe again, I think I added too much flour, so I am lowering my expectations.

Our forecast kept calling for light rain, and four hours later, we haven’t gotten any, and it’s still in the forecast. Supposed to start in 24 minutes.

I am working on a puzzle, can’t wait to finish and show you, its interesting!

Enjoy your day!

@dazedx3 Thank you for your words of wisdom. I know that any place I live will not be my home or even feel really comfortable. I miss Chris too much to have those expectations. You are correct. I wanted to find the place that speaks to my heart and soul but I neglected to realize that Chris is not with me so that is not possible. The best I can hope for is a place where I can find a bit of peace and calm, have my outdoor space, be near one of my kids, good location to all the stores and places I want to go, the highway, walking space, and in a different area from where Chris and I lived. I have been told by women who have been on this journey longer than us the you never get over the loss, that you just try to live with it. I don't know how you learn to live with it because I am no where near that or even see it down the road. My big step for the day is going to the coffee shop near Kenny's house. I got a cup of coffee, a scone, and sat at a table by myself. I looked at my phone, other people, and out the window. I finished my scone and half the coffee and left. I was there around 15 minutes. I think because Chris and I do not have a history here that I was able to do this. I hope you have a safe drive to your DD's house and find some comfort with her family. Glad your DS is with you for the drive. Please take care with the snow cleanup.

Lynn Glad Don is feeling a bit better and eating more. I hope you get more work done on the house. And thank you for the reminder about the clocks. Someone at work mentioned it yesterday and I was so surprised. I so don't keep up with anything lately.

Bobbiwoz Crock pot mac and cheese sounds good. I hope it turns out well.

@footballmouse Sorry about your schedule change. New bosses like to put their imprint on the dept. I understand being in a bad mood about it and Chipotle is not the worst food. We all need a pity party now and then. I hope you have a nice time with Mia. My boss asked me yesterday if I would ever be interested in going back to full time, 40 hours. NO! I told her maybe 35 hours once I am settled in my new place but not until then. She said she understood. I guess we will see.

I have brownies in the oven the for grandkids, Kenny, and I will steal one too. He has the kids for the weekend. I go back tomorrow to pick up Jeff and bring him out to see the area and the model condo. I am hoping they again allow us to see the one that is built already. I have to drop off my deposit checks too. I am so glad I did see those 2 condos and more of the complex so I do not feel like I am missing out on anything.

Good Morning dear friends,

It's dry at the moment (I think) with more 🌧️expected to come. Evergreen is a happy 🌲I'm keeping in prayer that all will go dry and smoothly for dad who is currently doing laundry followed by shopping at Ralphs. :grouphug:and thank you to all of you for your extra love and dental good wishes and prayers. Yesterday's appointment was indeed a blessing. As I said I appreciated Dr. C's time and kindness in not charging me anything. Getting a second opinion reassured me that this should be taken care of with a simple filling appointment and nothing more. I will be scheduling that appointment with Dr. E later today. It was also comforting to feel more confident about Dr. E being my dentist in general. I'm glad Dr. C works well for my dad and that I got to thank him and his staff for their good care to dad. I was hoping to feel similarly but didn't and that's okay, too :) A reminder to each of you, that getting a second opinion really can be a great idea.

No snail ✉️of any kind again here yesterday. We are expecting a package delivered through the mail today. Maybe that will also bring mailbox mail. Friday reminder that I would always be happy to send any of you some happy mail, PM me.

🙏 for safe and fun travels, AuntieMe3! How cool that you might get to Canada! My friend Glenda grew up there. Years ago, a Discovery Shop friend lived out there also. Hallmark movies filmed in Canada sure have some beautiful scenery. Dad and I did enjoy very much some time in both OR and WA state back in 2007 and possibly also 2008. We got to visit some waterfalls and had fun playing a round mini golf at a Bullwinkles, too. Have a wonderful time, my friend:hug:

:hug:Snowysmom, the new build condo sounds so tranquil which I pray it will be for you. As always you know I so admire your courage and spirit. One small step at a time, my friend, I pray you will find growing peace in yourcontinuing journey. I do remember, and should have shared this long go, revisiting the small town where grandma and I lived around the corner from each other for a couple years before she moved into Assisted living back out here. This was the same place I had attended college and later worked in. For me, going back wasn't easy because grandma wasn't going to physically be present. It was a healing trip for me to gain a bit more closure and also get to visit with some friends who still lived in the area. I also found that living there in the future wasn't for me any longer. I appreciated my years there especially God's blessing of time closer with grandma. Good memories. I came to move forward out here and being extra grateful particularly the last few years during the ongoing pandemic, that home is indeed where your heart is, where God has called you to be. I am so thankful He has blessed you with a loving family and of friends, remember that always includes me and along with all of your Quacker family. We care and are here for you always. Dazed, same extra reminder today, to you! God is forever beside you both!

Footballmouse, ITA with PollyannaMom! I'm so sorry about your work schedule. extra and prayer that you will get to sometime soon enjoy a trip of your own. Meantime and always please know you have my sincere thanks for all the loving care you daily provide to so very many including Baby Mia! She should be just the medicine you need today :)

Lynn, praise God for small Don feeling better steps! That news brightened my morning to read. Continuing prayers to you both always! Maybe Lowe's will give you via Dave something like the equivalent of a frequent flyer discount. They should!:)

Dear Dazed:grouphug:and plain prayers that you do have some fun at Margot's party. Two years old is so precious! God Bless her indeed. Prayers in some way that you feel the reassurance Kris is with you. We care. We really all do.

Bobbiwoz doing a 🧩and later enjoying mac and cheese sounds like a great Friday to me. I do look forward to seeing your puzzle. Have fun, would love to help you, putting it together.

PollyannaMom, I hope you had fun with the twins yesterday and that your 🐈have settled down being reassured that their family is back home.

Love to all. I will check back in later.

Greeting to you all from the Dallas airport. I'm killing time before my flight, trying to catch up on this thread. Hope everyone is doing well, good thoughts going out to those struggling. Had a day of meetings yesterday, and two this morning. Stayed at hotel complex the whole time, so really didn't see any of the town - short of the 10 minutes it took to go from the airport to the resort, and then the 10 minutes earlier today on the way back to the airport!
So what's on everyone's agenda this weekend? Youngest & his wife arrive sometime this evening for at least one night, they are meeting with the test rental people tomorrow for the wedding party this summer. I think we are going to Lowes for sheetrock Saturday. Framing is done and the plumbing and electric has been roughed in. I need to pick out the new carpet soon. I need to pop into the office first thing tomorrow and take care of a accident report, but that ought to only take a few minutes.
Maybe we will have a bonfire Saturday or Sunday afternoon - we'll see what the wind is doing.
I land at about 6:15 this evening and with a bit of luck, assuming it's just raining and not ice or snow/no fog I should be home by 8ish.

I've texted the dogs and told them to have a glass of wine ready for me when I walk in the door. Getting them a jitterbug was a good investment:tongue: But watch them slack off and pass the chore off on my husband!!!

I have a working tub and shower. All plumbing is done except for the vanity, which won't be done till spackling and painting is done. The last piece of drywall is going in as we speak. It's starting to look like a bathroom. I have my shower gel, pouf, shampoo, conditioner, and 2 candles on the shelf in the tub, waiting for tonight. Still no lights, he's waiting until the drywall and painting is done to put them up. He is going to hook up the one in the heater/exhaust fan/light thing before he goes if he has time. Progress is finally being made after all the delays!

We had some rain, them some big snow flakes, then more rain, but nothing measurable.

@flyingdumbo127 Mona , Dave gets the Lowes Pro discount, but even with that, it's costing us more than we thought it would. Oh well, after 20 years, we deserve a nice master bath!

Have a nice afternoon

:wave:Easyas, prayers you have a safe travels. Thank you so much for a :dogdance:smile.

:grouphug:Lynn, I am so thankful that you and Don will at long last have a nice bathroom.

All is 🌧️here. Grateful extra to God, dad only experienced light rain while out this morning and more importantly has long been safely home. How blessed we are on a wet Friday to have the shelter we do. We are also thankful to have gotten 💌Terri, who lives half an hour or so from me sent me something last Thursday that finally came this afternoon. Reminder to still send anything timely, even, nearby to you early! I did try to call my dentist this morning. I think storm might be effecting the phone lines. I will try again on Monday. I did text and also emailed Dr. E to get his aasurance that the appointment should indeed be a simple filling. Thank you all again and always for your kind prayers.

Stay warm, dry, and well everyone. Have a good rest of the day.
