@bobbiwoz I’m sorry to hear that about Gus. Always a hard time. For us, it’s spoiling time. Favorite places, things, foods, etc. It’s very hard to let them go. But I do look forward to seeing all my pets again some day. :littleangel:

This poem always helped me get through it.

@footballmouse Look on Craigslist, too. Many young Moms trying to get a few bucks back for their things.

Been busy. Worked the weekend and had to go in on Monday, too. Stayed late to spend some time with a patient. Yesterday I had an ortho appt for my arm (after ice fall) and wound up getting a cortisone shot in my rotator cuff. Very sore and bruised today. DD put a lidocaine patch on it for me and I’ve taken motrin. Had things I needed to do today but looks like I better let it rest. 😬

DD and I went to IKEA afterward, she is planning for the apt renovation and was happy with her findings. She picked out the kitchen cabinets she liked (which I was happy about because they were the same ones I liked; Mom had liked different ones when she was thinking of doing them over previously). I think I mentioned before that she’d picked out a tile and I knew everything would fall into place after that. (Tile is blue Paloma, cabinets are light grey, countertops will be white quartz with small grey spots. We have IKEA cabinets in the main house and we love them. It’s so much fun looking at all they have to offer.) Other colors in the apt will be grey floors and some combination of blues and light browns. It will look nice when done, but is still a ways off as she has to finish school first, which will hopefully be this fall. She also saw a sofa she really liked and some other things. It’s such a great place to shop when you’re just starting out. I wish it was around back then for us. The cinnamon buns aren’t bad, either, lol.

Someone mentioned spaghetti and meatballs the other day. I forgot to post a picture of the ones we made last week. We did them a little differently this time, something we’d seen on IG. We put a chunk of mozzarella cheese inside each one. We liked them! Next time we’ll put a bigger piece, though, we’d kept them relatively small. We froze a whole bag for future use.

Well I hope everyone has a good Wednesday! 🐥

@Pea-n-Me , thank you for your kind words and thoughts. It seems to me I have put mozzarella cheese in my meatballs sometimes, and we liked them that way too!

I rescheduled my chiropractor appointment, maintenance, and Tom was called in to see a thyroid doctor this morning. Well, Tom just called and there will be more tests because his thyroid is not working properly. The doctor was with him for 45 minutes, and Tom called just so I understood that he was still going to be late, the doctor told him to get a vitamin D something supplement.

Our Ohio neighbor who fractured a leg bone 5 weeks ago, got an excellent visit report from her orthopedic doctor and called to tell me. She was thrilled that the bone is healing. They and we were to be on a cruise last week, but between o her leg and Tom’s wheezing, we each cancelled the cruise and filed insurance claims. We have rescheduled a cruise for October…hopefully, that will work!

When I mentioned Tom’s thyroid news to my friend, she mentioned she had parathyroid glands removed years ago, before we knew them. She said it was a “Piece of cake.” Well, I guess we’ll find out more, but it is good to know a friend who has dealt successfully with thyroid issues. I take thyroid medicine, but no other attention has been given to them as my bloodwork just indicates things are working.

So, I am still tired, but am mentally in a better place than I was earlier.

I really hope you all are having a good day.

Oops I forgot to mention that we had the repair person out yesterday for the washing machine in the apt. Gone. Said we had to get a new one. It was an up/down set for apts. Bummed. That was the second one we’d bought since we’d built the apt. So we wound up buying a stackable set that was on clearance and DD split the cost with us. We were lucky to find it. So brand new set with 5 yr warranty, delivery and take old one away for roughly $1200. Not bad as a new version of the same one we had was $1500 without warranty, delivery or take away. Everything is so expensive today. 😬 I saw one on Craigslist for $600 but you never know what you’re getting or how old it is, etc. If we didn’t find these we might’ve chanced it, but ugh, always something! (ETA they will only do set up if you buy the hoses from them. Because we already have working hoses, DH will have to set it up himself. And we only have two days to make sure it works ok so where we can get our money back if they don’t. So we’ll be busy with that this weekend. We have to pick up a new drip pan (or whatever you call it) to put the machines in, too, and give that spot a good cleaning while the machine is out. It’s in the apt bathroom and has its own spot.)

PS I was shocked at the number of socks (and one underwear) that had somehow gotten into the belly of the washing machine! Head scratcher! I guess they go over the top? Helps answer the question of where missing socks went when I knew I’d put two in there!

Good Morning and Happy Winds-Day friends,

I had the random thought last night of sometime going back to DL on a Wednesday and taking a picture with pooh:while holding some type of "Wednesday or Winds-Day" Pooh related picture. Small things as I have said before can be such fun, bring joy, and good memories. Dad just left to run some morning errands. I always feel a little badly when he heads out to not yet be able to go with him to help. However, how blessed truly I am simply to have this day of life and with my beloved dad! Also, in God's time and way if it is His will, I will be able to accompany dad one day from a simple errand or laundry to church and/or needed clothing shopping. All good and in all I give Him thanks.

Snowysmom, at 29 degrees, I would be too frozen to chirp 🐦period, lol! I admire the birds for singing nonetheless. Their spirit reminds me of YOU! God’s light within you and His Presence beside you, my friend, is forever constant no matter trial or weather outdoors or inside your heart. You are moving forward🚶‍♀️ with great courage. I am so very thankful to God extra anytime you share with us about her, for placing your kind therapist into your life.

Enjoy your new 📱, Judique! Smart son you have. I’m thankful the two of you have one another. Why not start very small any home remodel and go from their? I hope you do get to see your grand-daughters again soon. May you also stay out of car repair waiting rooms for quite a while, too! You sure had a long day waiting around yesterday. Early 📦 delivery prayers, too and that what you ordered will work out just fine.

Footballmouse, thank you for setting up the welcome table at your hospital. What a lovely thing to do! God Bless your kind aunt! The two of you are absolutely blessed to have one another that’s for sure. I know you do but cherish your time together. Cheering from afar for Evan’s⚽ team.

Bobbiwoz and prayers for dear Gus:dog:too. There are no words when anyone we love is in pain other than, a reminder, you are not alone. We all care and God is with you always and extra right now Gus, too. Hooray for a fun trip yesterday. I ‘m so glad you always find extra peace as I do in quiet morning prayers. Prayers for both you and Tom, as well, always and for a wonderful cruise in October! Where are you planning to sail 🛳️to again?

PollyannaMom, have fun with the twins today and :thanks::hug:as always, for the loving, kind care you give them. The three of you are definitely blessed to get to learn from and with each other.

Lynn, I just Googled “Autumn Joy Sedums.”🌸 They are so pink and beautiful! I would love to see a picture when yours come more into bloom. Big hug and so very many prayers truly on Don. You know I am concerned about you both. Please take care, both of you!:grouphug: Safe kitty good wishes, too!

:grouphug:Pea and continuing healing prayers for you all-around my friend! I’m glad you and your daughter got to have some shopping time together at IKEA. Redecorating can be fun indeed—encourage a new start which I 🙏 it will be for your daughter. Everything is indeed way too expensive these days! I'm sorry you had to replace your washing machine. Take care please and enjoy your 🍝 to come.

Have a good day everyone. I will check back in later.

Good morning. Chilly one here today which made my daughter put our trip to downtown off. She doesn't have a Winter coat evidently and we would have to do some walking from the train station to the Social Security building. Now because of her work schedule we will need to go on Monday when it will probably take longer.

@Pea-n-Me - The cheese in the meatballs sounds good. I will have to try that sometime. The tile your daughter picked out is very similar to what my daughter put in her bathroom. When she showed me the sample, I wasn't sure how it would look, but it is really nice installed.

@bobbiwoz - Sorry about your Gus. I have been there quite a few times and am heading there again. My Chewie has hip issues and the vet mentioned surgery was possible this year. She's almost 9 and the cost from what I googled is about $15,000 a hip plus it's a painful procedure and long recovery. We have decided we will keep her comfortable for as long as we can, hopefully there's a med that can help, but will probably be making a tough decision in a year or two, I don't want to subject her to the procedure and put her through all that pain. Chewie is a Chug - Chihuahua/Pug mix. Unfortunately, she has the pug body on skinny little Chihuahua legs. We are picking her up, so she doesn't have to jump on the couch anymore, or off of the bed. She never could jump up on the bed.

@lynxstch - Good luck with the bathroom renovation. That was one I was glad we were away for, and it wasn't a full renovation. We only have one bathroom, so we timed it out that way. I get how much "fun" it is living through all of that. This year we are getting a lot done, most of it paid for already since my grandson has been a little short of cash. The bad part is he is now working at a good job but full time so we will only have weekends and some nights to get the work done as opposed to his doing it full time. Even with that it took several weeks. Thankfully most of the work this year is exterior. He's going to get my other grandson to help him at my suggestion. I think it will be a good learning experience for Mikey to be able to do some things for himself when he goes out into the real world,

I have been looking at Disney menus and I think I am going to have some problems finding foods that are safe to eat. We were planning mostly quick service and if they serve any seafood that is fried, I am most likely going to need to skip all the fried foods on the menu like French Fries. We are planning a quick Uber to Walmart when we first arrive so I may be picking up a few things there that I can eat. This is not a fun allergy. I looked at the Food Booth Menus for the Flower and Garden Festival and got a little misty at some of my favorites that I will have to skip now. I'm sure in time I will adjust,

Last night was my last Vestry meeting for church. :yay:The Vestry is like the board of directors for the church that makes business decisions. I am jumping for joy. In less than 1 month I will be off as my term is over. It has been difficult the past couple of years because I don't like some of the decisions being made and usually am the only negative. Add to it I really don't like our priest, again I am mostly alone in that. We have very different personalities. He will be happy; he is getting two more "yes women" that will agree to anything he wants. He has also made sure I cannot serve again for at least 3 years, possibly 6, by having my mother on there. We cannot have 2 family members on the board at the same time. The bylaws read "Household" members, but he unilaterally decided it meant "Family".

Oh well back to pictures. I could get done if my computer would stop randomly restarting. Have a nice day.

:grouphug:Taz, I "liked," your post because of your spirit in always doing what it is right and like Snowysmom, your courageous choice of going forward no matter a trial. I am sorry, as you know, that your church experiences have not been all positive. Definitely not as it should be and sadly as I have shared with you, I can relate. ::MickeyMofun prayers period for you, my friend! Chewie:dog2:prayers too. Thank you, always, for being such as blessing to Mikey and vie versa to him to you.

@tazdev3225 it’s good that you help Chewie do the things that’s hard for her. Years ago we bought a ramp for one of our dogs who needed help jumping up or down into/out of our car. We had the ramp stored away in the attic, and recently we keep it on our porch, where its easier to get it when Gus needs it.

The Cruise we booked for October goes out of Bayonne NJ, so neither of us will have to fly, and it’s about a two hour car ride from Cape May. It stops in Port Canaveral, Nassau and RCCL’s Private Island. The cruise is all about connecting with our friends.

🙏 🛳️Bobbiwoz:grouphug:sounds ideal and like a lot of fun! I pray you and your friends are able to go and have a wonderful time!

Sandro, our Sparkletts man came and delivered water. He's always so nice. Dr. C's office called to confirm my 🦷appointment tomorrow. His receptionist as dad has said, is indeed also so kind. I got to thank her and Dr. C for seeing me tomorrow and at no cost, plus confirm that he did get my email that I sent with a brief dental history and of the possible issue at hand. I look forward to meeting him tomorrow and feel greater peace of mind about doing so. Meantime, dad's errands are going well and God-willing he will be home within the hour. Enjoy the day friends with love.

It is a bit warmer now and sunny. So nice for walking.

@TazDev So sorry the vestry committee seems so trying. Sometimes people just get into the power of it all and want things their own way. That is one reason why I ended up leaving teaching Sunday school for the little ones. It became somewhat of a hassle so I figured let one of the parents of the little kids do the teaching. My kids were older so I could "retire".

I still watch the condo listings in Kenny's area and lo and behold, a condo came up at the complex I was really hoping to be able to look at. My agent is trying to get me an appt. It will go quickly and for above asking. I really thought about it after looking at the pictures and seeing the size. It is 2250 sq ft which I do not need. That is bigger than my old house. It is 3 levels. I don't want to have to clean and heat a place that size just for me. It is lovely and the complex is lovely. It is a bit further from Kenny, the highway, and my stores. I am going to look but not buy. I want to rule it out so I know for sure that the place I want to buy is the right one. Another condo came up for sale at a complex in Kenny's town that I was interested in but I know that one is way too big at 2600 sq ft and the price is way out of my range. I asked for guidance this morning, to help me get on the right path, and I feel like someone is telling me that the place I am looking at is just right with size, location, and price. Having these 2 condos come on the market just before I sign the P&S on the smaller one just seems very coincidental. I am looking at it as a lesson for me. Once I rule out the 2250 sq ft one I will definitely feel that I am on the right path with the smaller one. And I will be closer to everything and everyone I need.

I had a nice talk with my really good friend in NH. She is so good to listen to me and help. I listen to her too and we help each other. We were talking about the cruise we are taking in May. We are on the same page as far as just chilling and not having to run around like crazy. I love that. We like to read, relax, and people watch. I may have to play a game of bingo in Chris' memory. He loved playing bingo on our cruises. She may not join me in that but that is OK. We can do our own thing sometimes too.

Off for my last walk of the day. Have a good evening.

Good afternoon everyone🐥:grouphug:

Snowysmom, thank you for your wise words to Taz. Sadly, I had a similar experience in a different way at the church I was so active in pre pandemic which is why I've been keeping returning to it one day in prayer and am also looking forward to checking out some new churches Thank you for your Sunday School service! 🛳️prayers for you and your friend. I'm so grateful the two of you will get to set sail together. You need something fun to look forward to. Of course, continuing new home peace and prayers. You can do this! :)

Dad has been safely home thank God and all is well around here. We're going to bake 🍪this afternoon to be able to bring some as a thank you to dad's dentist who I will be seeing tomorrow and his receptionist. I wish all of you were closer so we could share also with you. At our meet up one day. God willing, maybe I will get to do just that.

Stay warm and have a good rest of the day. Lynn, prayers you and Don are doing better this afternoon!

We got the last electrical work done this morning, and Dave started the drywall while I was shopping. When I got home, I was surprised to see that half the ceiling and 4 feet of the bottom wall were already drywalled. He got a lot done today. We unboxed the tub outside and carried it in and sat it down so he could measure for the plumbing. I should have a working tub by tomorrow night! I climbed in it just to see if I liked it, and it's just about as deep as the claw foot one was, so I think I am going to be very happy with it. Will be happy to have a shower in there too, as the only one now is down in the basement bathroom. He's picking up the rest of the plumbing supplies he needs for it tomorrow before coming over. Then it's the rest of the drywall, the tub surround, installing the vanity, toilet, and the linen closet gets built (the bottom will hide the tub/shower plumbing so it will be easy to get to if any problems arise.), and then we can start the painting and the tile work. Maybe by the middle of next week, it will be done!

Lynn Looks like alot of progress has been made. I hope Don is feeling better.

@flyingdumbo127 Good luck at the dentist.

It is a sunny and cold morning. I am headed to the office in a bit. Then off to Kenny's for a couple of nights. I am looking at the condo in the complex I like this afternoon. It is most likely too big for me, 3 levels and 2250 sq ft but I want to look so I have no regrets. As I get older I would probably appreciate not having stairs and not having to clean and heat a large space. The new build condo is 1536 sq ft. I can get my stair climbing in at Kenny's house.

Have a good day.

Happy Thursday!:cold:

Went to the soccer game last night, turned out to be an exciting game at the end. Evan's team was down 4-1 with about 10 minutes to go and they ended coming back and the game ended in a tie 5-5 ⚽. Would rather have a tie than a loss. I got to cuddle Mia for an hour so it was a win for me :cloud9:. Found some pants for her at the consignment shop along with a St. Patrick's dress :shamrock:. No luck on the stroller. I found one on Facebook Marketplace that I'll check on probably tonight.

Went to the hospital cafeteria yesterday and got the lunch special for my dinner last night, catfish and zucchini. The hot lunches usually cost about $5 so I figured I can't find a decent dinner like that for less than that amount. It was good.🐟

The dogs must have been barking at the front window yesterday, when I got home my wax melt warmer thing was knocked off the table. I need to figure out how to get candle wax off my table and curtains. No treats for them the rest of the day!😡

Got home too late last night so I'll probably catch up on Survivor when I get home. I was thinking about watching it at lunch but then I remembered that I'd have to sit through commercials.

Gus does not seem right, he has liver issue
Prayers for Gus, I hope he feels better.😟

I am going to look but not buy.
Good decision to just go and look so that you can rule it out. This way you're not second guessing your decision later on.👍

That's about it, have a great day!

Good morning. It was a bit chilly walking Chewie this morning but it is sunny at least.

@Snowysmom - good luck with the condo search today. I think you may like the one you have talked about that you are hesitating on making the final decision. It sounds like everything you were looking for, other than being a little farther away from your one son. When we bought our house many, many years ago I was not happy. My husband decided he thought I liked it and put a bid in even though I wanted to wait. His reasoning was I didn't work so he was making the decision. He was right of course, because we lived in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment over an inconsiderate neighbor who was also a drug addict, with our infant son. We needed to get out and we reasoned we could always move in a few years. 39 years later we are still here. There are still things I don't like about the house, like a second bathroom which would have been so handy with 2 teenage girls. That may be the one thing I add when we redo the basement next year. It will be a handy addition in the basement, especially for Jim who will finally have his "man cave". I guess what I am trying to say is we all second guess ourselves, but I think from what you have posted that condo may be a good fit for you size wise and location wise with the amenities nearby. I know you will ultimately make the right choice. Maybe making a list of the pros and cons can help you decide, or a list of what you want and don't want and then using that as a guide.

All my plans for today have been put aside. The President is coming to Philadelphia. Normally that's not a big deal for me but I live right by the NE Philadelphia Airport, ALL of the major roads around me have been shut down. Mikey had a doctor's appointment at 1:45. Thankfully I was able to change that to 10:45 instead. I wouldn't be able to get to his house since the only way to get to my daughter's house is off of one of the roads being shut down. I had plans to pick up a few things at the Walmart, Aldis, Target and Lidl's but I will just do all of that tomorrow. I will just work on pictures yet again. I am going to have a lot of work to do once I get this sorted out as I need to update quite a few files. It will keep me busy and out of trouble at least.

Have a nice day everyone.

Just a quick good morning before Dave gets here. Hoping to get the tub in and running today. Then the vanity can go down and the rest of the drywall can go up.

Well I started this post almost an hour ago. I couldn't find one of the cats. The one that never hides. Then I remembered that all of the cats had been running in and out of the bathroom last night. I go in to look, and behind where he has the tub sitting, is the hole he cut for the plumbing. He forgot to cover it up. I went down in the cellar to look in the crawl space where the plumbing is,,and there sits Marble, the one almost all white cat we have, way back in the corner staring at me. It took me 30 minutes with a dish of food, snacks, and finally a laser light to tease her close enough to grab. They could have all been in and out of there all night for all I know.

Dave got here, and 10 minutes later got a phone call from his son that his truck broke down, and he had to leave and go pick him up. Then he will be back. But now there is a potential storm for tomorrow, and he may get called out tonight or tomorrow to plow. More bathroom delays. It will get done sooner or later.

Have a great day everyone.
