Snow flurries this morning here as well, but what little initially "stuck" at all seems to have melted already.

I straightened up the fridge yesterday, and realized I needed to use some stuff up, so I made breakfast pizza this morning - very yummy!

Then I watched The Good Doctor, had my other Zoom class, and I'm about to make coffee and figure out lunch.

Thank all of you for the prayers for her, she needs every last one of them.
Continues prayers for Summer. I pray she that either one of the doctors will sit down with her and actually talk with her about her condition or that she finds one that will.

It's a cold morning here. No school, most likely none tomorrow. It's been sleeting since before 8:00 this morning. Haven't even looked at the news to see what's going on. Hoping that the electric grid holds up. I doubt that ERCOT has done much in the way of repairs since the big storm two years ago, mostly talk and trying to cover their rears.

Lil Joe and Lou Lou are so excited about the sleet. They don't quite understand that you don't go out and play in it like you do snow. This morning Lil Joe looked out the window and he said "The streets are all fluffy!". :rotfl:

I am fine going home! No sad faces here. Looking forward to seeing Gus, being with Tom and doing normal things. I have been away two weeks one day.

Such happy memories.

Cruise stateroom attendant surprised us with this!

I do see cold temperatures in NJ, but it doesn’t seem too bad in Cape May!

Also, Tom went home after the cruise. He sent me this picture on Sunday.

I think of you all every day, and am glad to be part of the conversation daily now!

It took forever for Don's appt, but at least all went well.
Glad to hear that -
Decisions! Not good at them.
For what it's worth, I think you are doing a bang up job of decisions!
esterday I took the tractor with snowblower out for the first time. Kris always did the blowing. It’s not pretty but it’s done. I’m certain anyone watching me would have had quite a chuckle.
Congrats on that accomplishment, it's a good reminder that we should dip our toes into the function of some of the tools around our homes if they aren't something we usually use - to be able to use them. Doesn't have to be pretty as you mentioned above!
How on earth could all of this be happening at the same time
That is a puzzle, it's like a cascade of stuff.
I have been really stressed about Kenny and being able to keep the house
Here is the thing though - appraisals aren't always the last word. We've bought & sold 5 homes over the course of our marriage, as well as dealt with some investment properties. The Appraisal is important, but on the market it's about what people will pay, not just what the bank will give them. Just cause my house appraises for XYZ doesn't mean I'm going to get that. Doesn't mean I won't get more.
You know what I would do? (I know you didn't ask but it's just popped into my head and I can't help myself but share it) First, I'd get a realtor over there ASAP and ask what they would realistically recommend he list it for if he wanted to sell within a certain amount of time - let's say 3 months. Let's say the real estate agent says it will sell for $400K. Your appraisal says it's worth $450K, and that is what your son can pay, and the ex-wife thinks it's worth $500K. Well - why not make the ex-wife a deal, if he puts the house on the market at $500K and no full price offers come in in 3 months, they go with the appraised price - or better yet, $400K. And honestly, even if he listed it soon, had a couple of open houses, a couple of showings and got a offer that everyone could agree on, go thru the inspections, and finally get to settlements - hell they could easily be 3 months in a perfect situation anyway. Besides - if a knowledgeable realtor give a honest answer as to what the house would most likely sell for, and it's more along the lines of what he is thinking vs. what she is thinking then there may be any movement on the house that is way overpriced at $500K and he'll get no bites, wait out his 3 months, and be able to keep it. Theoretically.
Anyway, just the 2 cents I thought of that you didn't ask for :o
Easyas - Congratulations on your son's engagement!🥂
Thanks! I'm excited for them. Never thought I'd gain two daughter in laws within 10 days of each other!
They have no clue if these are all related, as she's not getting much information from anyone . They keep doing all these tests, but not a reason why.
I wonder if the hospital has a social worker she could consult with, maybe someone who could help guide her/help her find her voice when seeking out the info from the Dr.'s?
Lil Joe and Lou Lou are so excited about the sleet.
There is NOTHING like the excitement a snow or sleet day to call off school for kids! I can still remember the feeling of waking up - earlier than a regular school day because I had to know - and either listening to the news radio or watching the feed on the TV news to find out if school was canceled.
Heading home from WDW today.
Safe travels!

It's a chilly, damp rainy day out there. Took some chicken breast out of the freezer and thawed it, then stuck it in a garlic parmesan marinade at lunch. I have some mushroom risotto, maybe I'll make that to go with it.

Beautiful and happy pictures, Bobbiwoz! I'm so grateful to God you had such a happy trip, my friend. Safe travels to you home! Such an adorable :dogdance:

Easyas, great suggestion indeed for Snowysom. Lynn, I pray that Summer chooses to take that action for herself!

It warmed up a little in here, I'll take every degree lol. Dad is safely home from laundry and Ralph's. Wishing all of you a good afternoon! :)

I don’t find that social workers are the best people to work with in a situation like that. Nothing against social workers, I think they’re amazing at what they do! I think Summer needs someone with clinical (medical) knowledge that can help sort things through as well as help her understand the best way to talk to and act with these numerous medical teams as well as her own PCP. Often, that’s a nurse. Does she have any friends or family who are savvy, seasoned nurses? It does sound like there are many varied issues to sort through, and that the list is growing. A social worker definitely might be helpful to Summer if she needs counseling. 😕

I was going to do meal pictures last night but I dove in to eat before I got the picture of it plated! It was so good. We did pork cutlets made from thin pork slices. I put some garlic powder and parmesan cheese in with the Italian bread crumbs and cooked them with olive oil and a little butter after egg dip and coating. We had sweet potato with a little butter and cinnamon sugar, as well as string beans with them. Everyone enjoyed it, especially DS. I think they’re best when eaten right away, as when reheated, especially in the microwave, they get mushy.

@bobbiwoz You had a nice, long trip! Who are the ladies you’re with? Dis friends? And which one are you again? (I think I know but I want to make sure!)

Off to take the dogs out. 🐥 We are headed into some Arctic-type weather this weekend!

Yeah, probably a better avenue. Still, it's hard to get someone to advocate for you if you won't advocate for yourself and that seems to be the sticking point in this situation. I want to reach thru the computer and tell Summer to stand up and speak up, to ask all the questions, take the time to find out and ask questions. Don't leave until you can get some answers.
My MIL won't ask questions either, but for her she likes the let the "what if's" and "it could be's" hang out in the air to savor for a while, so if she asks questions she might have it confirmed that she DOESN'T have whatever she thinks she has. But, that is her thing - hypochondria is her hobby. Well, that and collecting cats!

I remember my youngest son was having some issues, and we'd go to back and forth to the Dr...."nothing really wrong Mrs. Easyas". Well that last time I don't know what happened, I just lost my you-know-what and thru a massive hissy fit -and I think the Dr. thought I lost my mind for a second - BUT she listened to me. I'm talking yelling, screaming & crying - I insisted there was something going on. Got a CT scan and low & behold they found the problem and got it corrected. I did apologize for my demeanor to the Dr. after the fact, not for making my case but for the way I went about it. She was gracious about it. I don't think they were being negligent in their care, I think it was something that was just unable to detect w/o the scan and I just had a gut feeling.

@bobbiwoz Nice pictures. Glad you are having a nice time.

I am not looking forward to the arctic weather this weekend. I was going to go to Kenny's but we'll see.

The condo office admin here is not the most helpful or knowledgeable person around. I have been trying to get her to fill out a lender's questionnaire for the buyer. She finally told my agent that I have to pay for it to be filled out. They want you to pay for anything and everything. It was alot of money so they better get it filled out quickly. The buyer's bank is being a bit of a pain too I guess. She is only taking out a loan equal to 20% of the purchase price with the rest cash. She was preapproved for alot more. It is a small local bank sometimes they can be very slow and methodical. I will be glad when this is behind me.

There were alot of the big executives in the office today getting ready for the meeting tomorrow. I just keep on working and say hi if needed. They will disappear after the meeting so that works. I am not looking forward to my dentist appt tomorrow. I know he helped me out with the broken tooth but the hygienist can be a bit of a pain. Tomorrow is 47 years since Chris and I had our first date. Bittersweet day for sure. He said he knew after the first date he was going to marry me. I took a bit longer, about 2-3 months to come to that conclusion. I did not date alot and he was the first guy I went on a second (and more) date with. We were married 17 1/2 months after our first date, engaged after 10 1/2 months. 45 years married was not long enough with him. I was hoping for more than 50 years. He kept saying that too.

Have a good evening.

There is NOTHING like the excitement a snow or sleet day to call off school for kids!
Found out a little while ago that school is canceled for tomorrow too.

DS called earlier all up in a tizzy about leaving for Houston tomorrow and how bad the roads would be. Their not bad in Houston but you have to drive about halfway there before they clear out. We're expecting snow/freezing rain/winter mix through Thursday morning now. I suggested seeing if he could move his appointments to next week. He just needed a sounding board to get his thoughts together.

All very wise and kind suggestions, Pea and Easyas!

:hug:Snowysmom and thank you for sharing more about your and Chris' love story with us. He sincerely is always still with you, my friend. Thinking extra of you!

Kirby🙏extra for your son and how blessed he is to call you his mom!

Good evening.

Colder here than it has been and we actually had some flurries, the first the entire winter. The weather is supposed to go down to 11 on Friday, I am not looking forward to walking the dog in that. She isn't a fan of her sweater and has very little paws that get cold quickly. She will not be getting the long walk in the afternoon she is used to having.

Jim goes in for the first cataract surgery tomorrow and I can't help but be a little apprehensive. Even the simplest things become complicated with him. Of course, there was already confusion with his meds. The surgery center said NO diabetic meds but call the dr. anyway. The dr. wants him taking half his insulin because he yoyos with his numbers.

I had to take Mikey to the foot dr. for a checkup and the foot doctor noticed I was limping a bit. My ankle has really been bothering me today. The doctor ordered x-rays and wants me to see the ankle specialist in his practice. I have no problem with that but I told him I will not contemplate surgery. I have lived with this ankle issue for about 9 years now. I fell and tore things years ago. I spent a year in a boot and said enough. The surgery they wanted to do then was no guarantee that things would get better, so I put up with it. Of course, when I fell a couple of months ago I injured the same ankle. The doctor treats Jim's feet so he knows that Jim is my priority and surgery will not work with taking care of him.

Ella called me and that always means "Grandmom I need something!" She found a volleyball camp for her and her one friend to go to. Of course it is 45 minutes away in Princeton NJ. At least the friend's parents will drive them 4 weeks, I get the other 4 weeks because my daughter has work on Sundays. Thankfully I think it's when the weather is starting to get warmer. That kid better be glad I like her.

Other than that not much going on around here. Hope you all have a good evening and stay warm.

@Pea-n-Me ,

Love the additional picture, Bobbiwoz. I had a feeling you were wearing the special Disney shirt in your earlier picture. What a wonderful traveling group including your sister to visit ::MickeyMoTruly what an amazing blessing of friendship God gave you and Cheryl. So cool you also have gotten to meet at least 2 Disboarders. I would sure love to meet you (and all of our Quacker family) God willing should you ever get out here once Covid is over.

I did get an expected book package through the mail but no mailbox mail again. Maybe 📬tomorrow.

Please do enjoy a cozy night and sweet dreams, friends.

Ah ha, as I thought! Adorable! And Nancy, she looks like a hot ticket! So glad you had such a great trip! And glad you liked my dinner pic! I never know whether I’m boring people or what! Lol

Taz, good luck with the surgery tomorrow. Hoping everything goes smoothly with no unexpected surprises.

@Kirby Hope your DS has a safe trip and a good appt.

@TazDev Prayers that all goes well with the surgery. Please take care of your ankle. You are a good grandmother for helping your DGD.

@bobbiwoz Nice picture

I miscounted the years since my first date with Chris. It is actually 48. I keep thinking it is 2022. I grew up on the North Shore of MA and there was a Chinese restaurant chain called China Sails. That is where we had dinner and then saw a bad movie called The Odessa File. Bad movie, but good date.

Kenny's court date has been postponed by soon to be ex and her attorney. It makes me suspicious that something is going on. They asked for the postponement saying they want to review things and come back to the table and hopefully be able to agree on everything before court. I am doubtful this is the real reason but if Kenny is fine with it then so be it. He is willing to let it play out a bit and the real estate prices are just going down so if they wanted another appraisal it would be lower. I am truly waiting for the time when our lives can be less stressful. We need to stop having bad or negative things going on. I definitely need some bright spots to be able to get through the days ahead.

Off to the office again today for the 2 hour meeting. Then to the dentist and then some grocery shopping. No time for walking today.

Have a good day.
