Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Thank you for this DIStraction. Its been lovely reading everyones replies. Let's see how I do.

I cane to DIS boards last summer when I was told about FEs for a September cruise we were taking (2 friends, a husband, 2 little princesses and me). My friend and I wanted to do a FE for the third friend's little girls. The one that was old enough (4 and 1 YOs) absolutely loved it. She was convinced that Elsa was doing it but that I was the one giving Elsa reports on if she was a good girl that day. No idea where that came from. LOL Anyway, y'all are so nice that even though I am a reformed Disney addict and have no plans to even do another DCL (my takeaway was that it would be a wasted upcharge for my husband and me but that we'd go again if the friends wanted to go again) you cant get rid of me!

My favorite comfort foods are desserts. I dont like my fruit cooked but pretty much ANYTHING else is fair game. Chocolates, uncooked fruits, ice creams, pastries, etc..

Husband is on a screwy schedule right now but we had a "linner" of pasta, garlic rolls, sliced parmesean with pineapple and kiwi for dessert. Breakfast for linner yesterday afternoon. Probably Mexican today but he is still snoozing.

I’m thankful for mostly beautiful blue skies and mild temps here that mean I can go outside! This odd schedule is a yearly thing for my husband and my usual plan is to be outside or go shopping if the weather is bad. Obviously the latter is a bad idea this year so I am especially thankful for the good weather days when I dont have to try to just be quiet inside so he can sleep.

My happy song is Perfect Day by Hoku (aka the Legally Blonde theme song)
Love song is I Held Her In My Arms by the Violent Femmes
Angry song is Kick Some *** by Stroke 9

I think I got all the questions in! :)

It's a bit gloomy & drizzling here as well, but supposed to clear up. Tomorrow to be unseasonably warm, possible T-storms...I LOVE thunderstorms, so I'm hoping they hold off until I get home from work so I can enjoy them from the porch with a glass of wine:goodvibes,.
Where are you? That sounds exacty like our forecast in northeastern Maryland.

Question: What song gets you up dancing or at least bopping? What is a love song that makes you think of teenage love or current love? What's a song you play when just need to be mad??
Bopping - I love Uptown Funk
Teenage Love - (showing my age) Something, by the Beatles. Takes me back to my junior ring dance in high school.
Mad ???

Dinner tonight is spaghetti and salad. Tomorrow hoping to get out on our screened porch which was just completed in August but didn't get furniture until October so haven't used it much.

I love todays question! So many possibilities.
Dancing I'd have to go to this one. Haven't met a soul yet that doesn't like it.

Love song I always go to the song from my wedding. The day was a disaster with 97 degree heat, rain, and a family fight. We had speakers but no one danced. Hubs and I were cleaning up the chairs ourselves for the rental company and he came over to me and I'd just about had it, he could see I was just done with the day. He hit the speakers, played this and hugged me while we swayed. (Linked because I can't find a good version on YT :D)

When I'm mad and I have no way to let it out I have a Nick Cave song I put on. It starts sad, slow, it ramps up as it goes on. I can't tell if it was anger at his drug addiction, aging, the change in his life or if he was angry at his vision of god but singing along with it just helps. By the time I'm done I feel better.

Dinner today is beef cooked in red wine. I managed to get a roast when shopping, and bought a cheap red blend. I know NOTHING about wine so every time I make this I end up with a different bottle. 😆 No one here drinks. Anyone want the leftover? It's Apothic Dark. I got it because the bottle was Gothic like me. :rotfl2:

Thank you for starting this thread. I thought I would have to retire from Disboards for awhile. Some of those threads are getting a bit over the edge and just fuel my anxiety.

My favorite love song would be what we danced to at our wedding: We've Only Just Begun by the Carpenters. I am dating myself. My bopping along song is I feel the Earth Move by Carole King. I also like alot of current country music. I like just about anything by Lady Antebellum.

Supper tonight is turkey wraps and salad. Tomorrow night we hope to do takeout from one of the small restaurants we usually go to on a Friday night for sit down. It is a small Italian place that you have to get to by 5 if you don't want to wait for a table.

Head bopping song: Up For The Down Stroke by Parliament/Funkadelic

Love song: Brighter Than Sunshine by Aqualung, and a combo love song/head bopping song (kind of): Everlong by Foo Fighters

Song when I'm angry: Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit

That is my all time favorite mad song!

Rocking- Limelight by Rush

Love song- Crazy for You by Madonna

I love all kinds of music and have too many favorites to think of...lol When I need to get up and move its usually 90's club music.

I didn't have to work today so that was nice...hubby worked from home and DD is already home from work too so another day of relaxing. I'm sure soon we'll get the motivation to get up and do something. :confused3 :rotfl:

Yesterday I got take out lunch from a local burger place and skipped a chain. I'd hate to see them go out of business as it's a favorite of ours. We all just ate whatever last night, so tonight I think I'll make something...not sure what yet.

I'm on the upper Eastern Shore:wave2:
Is there a way to private message here? (What is a conversation?) I am in Cecil County, which is upper eastern shore.

You are definitely in my age group.

Indeed it is! Used to live in Galena, so basically at the county "line" aka the Georgetown Bridge! We are in Northern Queen Annes county now - on the other side of Chestertown.

I'll try to PM you - private message, or at least that is what I think it means! ha ha

I thought this was jam we were talking about, you know the kind you'd put on bread.

As far as music.......I jam to a ton of different tunes. Right now and for some reason this one is going to remind me of the few times I have gotten in the car and just drove for a moment to get away from it all: (it's played every time)

@apirateslifeforme Have you seen this site? https://freedomhomeschooling.com/vi...xtAi3JUMrbivJgz8qvdUOCJUsQvTIqt0B2G4E6td2EI0o

It might be interesting to your son for a few minutes. :) Heck, I'm going to spend some time on there right now!
Or this one, a live web cam on the Decorah eagle's nest. :)

Love these! Thank you so much! Definitely going to check many of these out! :goodvibes

So this afternoon, it was confirmed that a 26-year-old resident of my town has tested positive. I am so scared now. I can't believe this is happening. I am never leaving the house again...

Dinner was breaded chicken breast, stuffing, and roasted Brussel sprouts.

Watched Jojo Rabbit. I thought it was fantastic. My wife felt it was a little too flippant (which I understand), but did really like it.

I love your questions each day. My answer today is most anything by Bon Jovi. :cheer2:
I made a trip to Target for some groceries. Very thankful for the checkers and baggers there.
Monday is an infusion day for my husband. I don't know if the appt is a go, they will let us know.
I'm trying to be mindful of taking this one day at a time. Doing that got me through a lot of challenges when he was in the military, and I think it still helps.

Something that gives me escape is music. It can transport me anywhere in my lifetime. I remember being in young teenage love and a boy playing a song on the radio for me or driving fast being a badass when I was 17 and thought I was invincible. The first time I sent my husband to deployment I got in my car and laid my head on the steering wheel crying like I had never cried before and prayed for a sign that I was strong enough for this life. I turned on the car and "I Will Survive" was playing. God does have a sense of humor. I love all kinds of music from the sad to the happy and dancing around like no one is watching.

What gets the blood flowing changes regularly for me. This morning for my exercise time it was a Bootsy Collins and Crew play list and this song did the most good:

If I play the following 2 or 3 times in a row I'm generally not angry anymore but it involves alot of air punching:

I spent much of my downtime last evening thinking about different Chinese dumpling fillings I could make. This morning the man was antsy for a walk so I sent him to Flushing's Chinatown with a tunnel vision shopping list:

1/2 a roasted Peking duck
garlic chives
parsley (I'll need more than what's growing in my windowsill pot)
bok choy
black bean sauce
lap cheong dried sausage
1/4 lb dried shrimp; he brought back a pound....

With that and other goods already in the house I plan to add to my frozen dumpling assortment with these:

spinach and egg
roast duck and shiitake
pork and shrimp

I should be a champion dumpling folder when I'm finished and then forget how to do it 6 months down the road, LOL.
Still in fridge clean-out mode so tonight's dinner was sausage and ricotta ravioli with a tomato and cream sauce. A grilled romaine heart salad on the side. Chocolate mousse for the house chocoholics; a vanilla poached pear for me.

This is lovely!

Hello all, I'm Dawn or Goblin if you prefer. Today is my normal lazy day so I'm playing with the pets and having leftovers (hubs said takeout tomorrow not today. I whined, I'll admit it). Made a biiiig pot of chili recently and it turned out delicious! Might do the Cinci thing and put it on spaghetti tonight. It's just me and the husband and a boatload of animals here in a small house. Somehow there's still always mountains of dishes and laundry. I'll get to that tomorrow. 😉
My husbands favorite saying is
Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow. We both laugh every time he says that, which is a lot!
