Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning.

Cold and sunny here too. Jack is outside working on repairing the fence. I have been working around the kitchen.

Today was the funeral for my sister’s husband.
I am sure that was a hard day.
A little update on baby Mia - I was able to hold her on Saturday.
YAY! It is great to see the little one pass milestones. It wasn't long ago I went through this with baby Marty. The last milestone was the longest to achieve, the carseat test. Had to sit upright strapped in his carseat for 90 minutes without oxugen levels dropping. It was several days between tests and basically the NICU was just babysitting.
@easyas123 Welcome back! Sounds like you had a great time. Congrats to both your sons!
What she said!

Good Morning everyone,

Chilly Monday here, too. Prayers all of you stay warm and cozy today, and always well! Dad is doing some morning shopping at Target followed by picking up a library book, and a quick trip to Sprouts on his way home. We did enjoy more of Love at the Christmas Contest last night and will watch the rest later today. I'll share how we like it.

Big :grouphug:Dazed and I agree with you, as well about Snowysmom’s sons.

🙏always Snowysmom’s. Any type of healthcare plans can be very confusing indeed. I truly hope you find someone who is able to kindly advise you on the best option for your needs. I do agree with both Dazed and PollyannaMom, your sons love and just want what’s best for you. Sometimes it can be harder for someone extra close to a situation to step back a bit but always in loving support when it is needed. You know I pray that when you talked with your younger son, the two of you will only grow closer.

God Bless Mia indeed, Footballmouse! She has a courageous young spirit👶:lovestruc I am so grateful to God you got to hold her, what a blessing. I’m also glad you got to enjoy a birthday brunch along with a dinner out among friends.

New 📱 phone prayers, Lynn!

Prayers all goes well at your doctor/s appointment, Pea. Enjoy your lunch with your daughter.

Welcome 🏠, Easyas! Thanks extra to God you are safely back and had such a wonderful trip as well! I would love to see some pictures.

B&B, not sure I ever shared this in our thread but years ago, my dad had gout. Neither of us had ever heard of it before. Initially he was prescribed medication. What has prevented any flare ups for him other than one other time not long after his first episode, has been daily drinking a 3oz cup of Black 🍒Juice. At first, even my dad who likes most anything unlike me, found the flavor nasty. It’s grown on him and it definitely has worked very well. Just a suggestion perhaps for your DH to try. Stay safe out there!

:grouphug:to all and have a great day. I'll check back later.

@footballmouse How nice you could hold Mia.

@easyas123 Sounds like a great trip.

I am back from talking with the shine counselor. I finally found something (someone) I like about my town. She was so helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. She did sign me up for the Part D plan Silverscript. It is the least expensive since right now I do not take meds. She also explained the medicare supplement plans and advantage plans. I now know I do want a supplement. In Mass the supplement plans are different from other states. I will be able to choose from 2 plans, one that does not cover the Part A gap and one that covers both Part A and Part B gaps and has a yearly deductible of $266. The counselor likes how MA does it as it makes it easier for all and the price does not go up based on age. I feel better having this info so when I decide to retire I know when to sign up for Part B and the supplement to be sure I will have seamless medical coverage.

It is so cold here now. The temp is 42 but with the wind it is cold. Now I will go into the cold and take a walk.

Good evening fellow Quackers. They have put the "S" word into our forces for the next few days. I don't think we are to get much, but still, not sure I'm ready for that just yet.

@Pea-n-Me UGH! How very frustrating. I hope you are not feeling to bad and have a speedy recovery.

@Kirby Continued thoughts and prayers for your son and entire family.

@Snowysmom Glad to hear you had a positive experience today.

@easyas123 Sounds like you had a great trip! I love how you chose to just "take it all in" and didn't seem to be worried about photoing and/or videoing it all the time. There is a picture somewhere showing a lady in crowed of people, all of who have their phones out and she's just standing there taking in the moment. I can't remember the caption, but it was something along the lines of her knowing what was "right" in that moment.

@dazedx3 Hugs for such a hard day for you and the rest of your family.

@footballmouse WOOT for getting to hold Miss Mia.

Don't really know much else. The kids were with FH this past weekend, so I am glad they are home for awhile now. My oldest had another rough go of it. He called her several mean names and it just ticks me off that the court thinks it's ok for a parent to talk that way to their child. If we, as adults, were being talked to the way he talks to her (and honestly how he did used to talk to me and still does when we must communicate) people would tell us to remove ourselves from that situation. She does not have that option. Others were ok for the most part when they got back.

I think we are going to start decorating for Christmas this coming weekend. My oldest really wants to go "all out", so I'm planning on letting her be in charge for the most part. I'm also thinking of getting a few lights for the outside, just to make things a bit more festive. I went to the store with my friend this weekend (big mistake...SO.MANY.PEOPLE) and bought myself two little nomes for the fireplace. I think I'll be able to keep them up for most of winter as the only real "Christmas" thing about them is a little sprig of holly on their hats. I was hoping to make a Target stop also, but after the crowd and craziness of the first store, I told my friend I didn't need to go unless she wanted to. She also didn't need anything there bad enough to battle the crowds.

Hope everyone has a peaceful evening.

:hug:Snowysmom, so grateful the shine counselor was both kind and helpful. Please stay warm, my friend, and have a good evening!

:grouphug:dear Pea! I am so very sorry to hear that :( Dad got shingles back in January. Right after or during a time he also caught my bad cold. I felt so badly for him especially as he was sick over his early February birthday. Also, so beyond grateful that, of course, he got well, praise and thanks to God and extra right before Covid. Please take care, my friend. You know if we weren't in a pandemic and we lived closer to one another, I would absolutely help out in some way if you wanted me too. From across the country I send you extra ❤️and healing🙏

Wishing you extra 🕊️dear Frog! To me it is nothing short of abuse of one of the worst types for a parent to intentionally in any way hurt their child. How that is okay with the courts...well...makes that situation just abominable, too. 🙏and support always!

It's been a chilly, quiet Monday here. I've spent most of the day trying to be warm on the couch reading. Dad and I did finish watching Love at the Christmas Contest which we did overall find enjoyable. Loved Angie's friend Blair especially at the end of the movie and was also glad to finally see Angie's dad help them with the Christmas tree decorating contest. Dad and I wondered where he was the other two rounds. Speaking of Blair, did any of you catch whether she lived with Angie and Angie's dad? My dad and I weren't sure about that either. I really liked the little girl Gabby and her dad David and his sister Lily both came across as a great family. Again, I wish the true meaning of Christmas had been better mentioned. At least Angie did say at the end that Christmas is all about love which of course it is, just with a huge capital letter "L" on "Love."

Hugs to each of you for a peaceful and warm good night and sweet dreams to come later.

@Pea-n-Me I am so sorry you have shingles now. I hope you are taking care and feel better soon.

@frog3101 Your FH makes me mad. How can he think that insulting a child is a good thing? I really wish your judge/lawyer would talk with the kids and find out what is really going on. I am glad to hear that you and your kids are getting ready for Christmas. That is a positive thing to do together. Have fun.

It is 25 degrees here right now. I am postponing my walk until 8 am. It won't be much warmer but at least the sun will be up. I just got out my winter hat and gloves.

I am thinking about doing a solo trip to WDW next October. I almost booked it yesterday but I want to stay at Beach Club and I did not see what I wanted for a room. If I shift the trip by a day it could work. But, I think I need to think on this a bit. I am also thinking about other places to stay where Chris and I did not stay. I like Beach Club as I could walk to 2 parks and just need the bus for MK. AK is not a favorite so I would not go there.

Have a good day.

Happy Tuesday!:cold:

Brrr, it's gotten cold. I forgot to mention yesterday that when I woke up Saturday morning, we had snow on the ground. >:( Seriously, not ready for this! Saturday night I was sitting on the couch and Carley (the dog) was sitting on the other end of the couch. I kept hearing something and I finally figured out that it was Carley's teeth chattering. I was just like "seriously dog?". I put one of Mitchell's old hoodies on her.🤦‍♀️

Went and did my cinnamon roll taste test yesterday morning. They were really good, too bad I'll never know what brand they were. After that I stopped at Walmart to grab a couple of things that I knew Walmart had a better selection of than Target.

I like Beach Club as I could walk to 2 parks and just need the bus for MK.
You are so right about the Beach Club being convenient to a couple of the parks. We love that resort.

Well, lucky me. I have post-Covid shingles now.
Sorry to hear this, I've heard shingles are painful.

I went to the store with my friend this weekend (big mistake...SO.MANY.PEOPLE)
I know what you mean. I ran out Saturday for a couple of things and stopped at Hobby Lobby. Good Lord, what a mistake!!!! Every aisle I went down there were people. Next stop was shoe carnival and it was the same way. I just feel like I can't take my time and look at everything like I normally would if it wasn't crowded.

Headed to the hospital after work today to sit with Mia. Bailey is going back to work on Wednesday and Evan went back today. We came up with a little schedule so my time will be from 3:30-6. Evan should be getting there around 5:30-6 and Bailey will be going in the morning before work (she starts at 2:00 pm).

That's it for me, have a great day!

Hello! I've been reading and reacting. Lots of warm thoughts to you all. 🤗

If anyone remembers from several weeks ago, we're still waiting on the deep freezer to be repaired. We had several no-show appointments with company #1 and Lowe's transferred our case to a different company. Technician #2 arrived weeks ago and said there was a missing part that company #1 didn't order. Fingers crossed the part arrives and technician #2 can have us repaired before the holidays!

@Pea-n-Me Oh gosh, I wish you a speedy recovery.

@frog3101 and @footballmouse I would have noped right out of there! I don't enjoy in-store shopping anyways but throw in a big crowd and I'm out! 🏃‍♀️

@frog3101 My heart goes out to your daughter. Sounds like she is being bullied by her other parent. Thank goodness she can find her safe space with you.

@easyas123 Welcome home! I enjoyed reading your travel summary.

Thanks for all the well wishes. It’s really just a small area, but I wanted to get it seen, verified and documented in my medical record. (DD had already figured it out for me, lol.) We were pretty much ready to string DS up having brought Covid home to all of us last month. 😬 I had a dental cleaning today but had to cancel it.

@easyas123 Sounds like a wonderful trip, thanks for sharing it with us. :goodvibes You must be kind of beat!

@footballmouse I love that you all are taking shifts with Mia. What love she knows already! :lovestruc

Thinking of you all and always praying for those who need prayers. 🙏🏻

Pretty chilly out today. Grady came from the south, I wonder what he thinks of it? :cold:

Last night we had chicken pot pie, french style string beans and cranberry sauce. It was good. Not sure what we’ll have tonight yet, we might make a soup or stew.

Have a good day, everyone. 🐥

Good Morning with love to all of dear you,

Dad is doing a bunch of :laundy:followed by 🛒at Ralph's. What a blessing it truly will be, God-willing, next year perhaps to be able to help him with such everyday chores. I can't wait. I absolutely will never take again for granted being able to safely go out that is for sure!

🙏each of you enjoy a WARM Tuesday. Dear Pea, please feel better and take care. Know we are praying for you:grouphug:.

I also love that Mia is being so extra blessed in the beginning of her life through the love :lovestrucof so many. She is certainly blessed to have you in her life, Footballmouse.

Snowysmom, what a wonderful idea to take a trip to ::MickeyMoon your own. And/or perhaps you can go with a friend but enjoy some solo time as well.

It's another chilly (for me) day here. PollyannaMom, I did record A Hot Cocoa Christmas earlier this morning. I will share how I like it. LOL, if hot cocoa were healthier, I would be drinking it by the gallons. Instead, as I have shared, I try to only have 3 small (as in 7oz or so) mugs of it made with 2% milk a week. I don't add anything to it otherwise, I know the warm treat is at least a little healthier for me. It sure makes for a cozy extra that's for sure. May each of you enjoy a warm treat of some kind today. :hug:to you, of course, always, PollyannaMom, too.

Always good to see you stop in, Luckyrabbit!

Lynn, prayers you are closer to being done :car:with your errands and are able to then stay cozy at home🏠

:wave:Maple Moose and good to see you, too. Prayers indeed your deep freezer gets fixed quickly.

Thinking of you, DisneyMommyMichelle and praying you and your family are safely still enjoying your trip::MickeyMo

Have a good Tuesday, friends. I will check back later.

@footballmouse How nice to you are able to be with Mia during the day.

@lynxstch Hope you don't get snow! It is cold here but at least it is around 40.

Well, I did book a Disney trip for next Sept. I booked Beach Club Studio Villa. It was the same price as the garden view room so I figured why not. Now let's see if I follow through and go. I have up to 30 days before to cancel with no penalties. I do want to try a solo trip so I may as well go and see how it works out.

I also contacted the real estate agent Kenny recommended for his area. She is very nice and very knowledgeable. She also does work in my area a bit so if I found a town house I wanted to look at around here (unlikely) she can go with me. I emailed the agent I want to talk with for selling. He has not gotten back to me yet but I just emailed an hour ago. I told him that I am not ready to sell right now but want to know the market and if this complex is still favorable for alot of people. So, once I get info from him, I have the holidays to mull things over.

The post office I go to is so short staffed it is crazy. Today I was in a line of 6 people. Then a family of 8 showed up to get passports. The only clerk on duty stopped everything and began to help them. Thankfully someone was at lunch and came back to work so I got to send the package to Joe's sister. I am going to order from Amazon and have it sent directly to her in the future.

Have a good rest of the day.

I am finally home and done with errands. Y'all want to talk cold? It's snowing , sleeting, and hailing here, and the sanding trucks are out. The ground is white :(
Got to CVS at 8:30 only to find out they now open at 9. Stood around with 4 other people. But we lucked out. I happened to turn around and saw a man who looked familiar walking on the downtown mall, with 2 other men. Then I realized that it was Governor Hogan! No idea why he was here,,but he saw us standing on the sidewalk (we were the only people on the entire mall), and said Good morning, asked how we were, and wished us a nice day. First Governor I have ever met,,lol.
Aldi's wasn't too busy, walmart wasn't as busy as I thought. There are some shortages around here. Jellied cranberry sauce was no where to be found, and no peppermint candy canes. They had spearming, raspberry, sour this and sweet that, but no regular ones

I got to my hairdresser 45 min early, but she took me right away. 7 stylists and I was the only customer. She warned me before she started that they had no hot water,,the tank was broken and they were waiting for the repair guy. They also have no heat, as mall management hasn't sent anyone up on the roof to switch from AC to heat. I was sitting in the chair, and heard someone walk by and say Hello Miss Lynn,,I turned and it was my usual stylist, who had been my stylist until someone informed me she no longer worked there. Not only does she still work there, but she's still the manager, and not happy with the guy who told me she didn't. I apologized to the girl about to cut my hair, and asked Brittany if she would do it. She said she would be happy to, and she didn't charge me ($28 for a cut and style..yikes). I did give her a $20 tip instead.
When I came out, it was snowing pretty hard,,and they closed schools 3 hours early and cancelled evening activities.
Got to US Cellular (across street from mall) and there were 4 people working and 4 customers being waited on. I had to wait about 15 min. 1 1/2 hours later, we both have new phones. Don decided against the Galaxy Flip and went with the Galaxy S22+..I went with the regular galaxy 22 as I wanted a purple phone. We got $830 off each phone (which made mine free), and also got $100 promo credits for each phone. I got us each Otter box cases, used $30 each for activation..and still have a $70 credit which they will take off the first bill. I passed on the insurance as we get it for free from our bank.
I love that everything transfers over to the new phone without having to remember where I had things set, and where I had things organized. The only thing I had to do was resign back into my email, resign into Fetch Rewards, and resign into my NCP panel , where I scan UPC codes from purchases and get gifts and gift cards in return.

Going to sit and relax for a bit after I feed the outside cats, Poor things are wandering around the back door in the snow waiting for it,,lol

Have a nice afternoon all..have to do without a Disney picture today,,no point in finding one this late in the afternoon

@footballmouse How nice to you are able to be with Mia during the day.

@lynxstch Hope you don't get snow! It is cold here but at least it is around 40.

We not only are getting snow, but hail and sleet too--in fact the sanding trucks just went down the road. They closed schools 3 hours early because of the weather. Too early for this!

Snowing today, roads were not too bad. It is pretty ,clinging to trees and bushes, but it is too early. I went to the endocrinologist this morning and then got the latest Covid and flu vaccines. In two weeks I need to go get the shingles vaccine, I have already had a mild case and that was bad enough.

Pea and Me… so sorry about the shingles, hope it stays mild and you recover soon.
Footballmouse… so happy To hear Mia is getting stronger everyday. We are still waiting for our grand baby to arrive, I guess he/she is just comfortable.

Just checking in to say hi. Nothing much to write about today - I'm doing random housework and DH is putting together a new filing cabinet we got yesterday at IKEA.

It was super cold this morning, but warmed up enough to go out with the "furry princesses" around midday. I'm planning to make chicken meatloaf for dinner.

Happy Tuesday all. Boring, lazy weekend, followed by busy Monday and Tuesday. LoL Decided to pop in while I'm taking a break before I head out to drop something off at FedEx and do an order pick up at the mall. The longer I sit here though, I'm thinking I might wait to do that tomorrow. LOL

I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week. DD said something about it yesterday and it was legitimately shocked...I told her no way and she told me to look at the calendar. I swear we had two more weeks.

I think I mentioned before my sister and her family are moving out of state for a job transfer. Dh and I along with my dad decided we will be making the drive with them to help them unload and then driving home together. My dad was a truck driver so he'll be driving the Uhaul, my BIL with probably drive with him and I'll be driving with my sister and niece in one of their vehicles and the other is getting shipped. My husband will be leaving a few day earlier to stop and see some of his family along the way before meeting us at the new house. We're leaving the Sunday or Monday after Thanksgiving, we'll probably be gone about 8 days. I'm getting emotional about them moving so far away but I know it will be a good move for them.

I'm a little behind but @dazedx3  I'm thing of you always.

@bobbiwoz Hope you have a great time in Dollywood...i really want to go there sometime.

@Pea-n-Me So sorry to hear about the shingles.

@footballmouse so happy you got to hold Mia. Sounds like she's doing great.

@easyas123 welcome back. Sounds like a great trip, I've been trying to convince DH to do one of these cruises. And congratulations to your DS and future DIL.

@Bianca and Bernard glad you guys didn't get damage from the hurricane. Crazy how there were two so close together. Had that happened before?

@frog3101 i had to run into Target for something on Saturday and could not belive the lines... it was crazy. Not looking forward to the crazy holiday shopping season at all. Sorry your FJ continues to be a you know what. :sad2:

@Maple Moose hope you can get your freezer fixed soon.

@lynxstch I want the purple S22... let me know how you like it. I have the S21FE right now, haven't had it long but it seems glitchy and after I got it, of course read the reviews that I should went with the regular 21 or 21+. I got the FE because it was the only purple available and i was impatient. :rolleyes1

@flyingdumbo127 and @PollyannaMom have either of you seen the movie The Ghosts of Christmas Always in Hallmark? Saw it this weekend and really like it.... super cute. It's sort of Christmas Carol-ish.

I'm sure there is more I wanted to comment on but again I forget and didn't do quotes. If I didn't mention please know I'm reading and still thinking of you all.
