Good morning. Printed my boarding pass. Ready to go. Unfortunately 2 of Jeff's kids had to see the doctor yesterday. Youngest DGD has an ear infection along with her cough that is getting better. She is on antibiotics. Baby Sam is croupy so he got steroids. The nurse practitioner said to just go on the trip. I am hoping the kids had a good night so they can go tomorrow without issues. If need be, Aimee will change her flight to Monday and bring the 2 kids. But I am praying that the kids are better and we can all go together.

Yep, it always seems like someone has something right before a trip. One year, DS had strep and was just cleared in time. Another year, DH was in a boot and had to use a scooter. And once, I had just gotten over conjunctivitis, so I'm wearing my glasses instead of my contacts in all the pictures. It must be a corollary to Murphy's Law or something!

Anyway, I hope both the kids are feeling better in time to go, and that you all have a great time!!

I saw a recipe I saved last night that was for a vegetable lasagna. It looked good, and had just a small amount of pasta, if I recall. It was layered with zucchini. I can pull up the recipe if you’re interested.

Good morning. I kind of like checking in later--I find so many new posts from the morning to go through. Going to be another 70 degree day.

@Judique --I wish all of our trees would finish dropping their leaves too. My yard was nice and clean, now there's a layer of leaves on everything, with more to fall. I have to do yardwork this weekend too. I wanted to drain and store the backyard hoses, but if I mow, I will need them to use the deck washers. I may leave them up till next weekend, but they are calling for a high of 46 on Wednesday with a low of 29. That's cool for this time of year!

@Pea-n-Me sorry about your eye issue, isn't that the truth, that it's always something! We have one more car payment to make too,,the the car will be totally ours. Just in time, as Don (Mr L) says he wants to look for something new. And with the prices of cars these days, that probably means another few years of even higher payments. . I am trying to talk him out of it, as this one is still in great shape, with very low mileage on it.

@Snowysmom --sorry to hear about the sick grandkids. I hope they feel better quickly. And I hope that you and @tazdev3225 have great, and safe trips. We are looking forward to hopefully seeing a picture of the 2 of you together on your 'Quacker meet up'. And a few other pictures to get us all to feel like we are there with you, lol!

I just put the cat boxes outside , after redoing the insulation and washing the blankets that were in them. Put blankets on the chairs and porch swing, and one box out there, as 2 of them pretty much live in it during the winter. I found 4 of them out there this morning..2 on each chair snuggled together to keep warm. Too cute!

Our overnight low for next week is down to 35 degrees on Wednesday.

I have the doghouse igloo for the outdoor cat. But since he seems to prefer sleeping on my loveseat, I've had to cover up the new cushions to keep his mud and hair off them. It's a lot easier to wash a towel than to clean the chair cushions!

Dad will soon be off to do laundry and Ralph's. We have now not gotten any mail delivery for 3 days. None since last Saturday. Today, is the first day Informed Delivery, shows a note from a friend of mine due so I extra hope that will come. Have a blessed day everyone and I will check back later!

I so agree. I have nice chair cushions too, and to keep them clean, I made coversout of big beach towels I found for $5 at Walmart last summer. I got both chairs out of 1 towel, and the swing out of the other. I put snaps on them to make them easy to get on and off

I like veggie lasagna! But I prefer it with spinach. DD will eat it but she's such a carnivore if there isn't meat somewhere she will order a chik fil a sandwich delivered before bed.

Haha! The dog has never gone into the igloo! He's easily able to fit but he hates the outdoors unless he's on the end of a leash or unless I'm sitting out with him.

I'll be in store at Costco at least by end of weekend to see if the price is any better than the online price.

There was another that looked good if you like eggplant parm from cooking_diaries_

You basically slice an eggplant lengthwise but not all the way [eta at the top]; you fan it. Then stuff each piece with sauce, mozzarella and fresh tomatoes, then bake. Looked really good!

Good morning all....DH is off to get his second booster and his flu shot, DD is off to work and I'm still lounging in bed. LoL Nothing planned for today besides the regular stuff, we decided to drive up the mountains Saturday or Sunday with our friends to go to dinner so I'll look up some options.

One of DHs nephews is getting married next year and asked DH if he would be in the wedding. Said some really nice things about DH being such a great influence in his life, it was pretty sweet so DH couldn't say no. The wedding will be out of state for us so we'll be planning for a nice little getaway with a wedding in the middle.

I think I missed the Halloween candy question... we don't buy any to give out because we never get any trick or treaters. Which is a bummer because I miss going trick or treating with DD and seeing all the different costumes. I'll buy a bag of chocolate as it gets closer just for us to eat. LOL

Thanks for the well wishes for the kids. Baby Sam had a tough night. He is in the ER now getting a nebulizer treatment. Temp and oxygen normal. He is a croupy baby right now. The plan now is for Jeff and the 3 older kids to go with Kenny, his kids, and me. Aimee will come on Tuesday with Sam. Please say a prayer that Sam does well. We are just trying to do the best we can with the situation.

Extra hug, PollyannaMom. I'm so glad. Thank you on the mail. I will share later if it comes today. Dad did see one of our two semi regular carriers across the street one day earlier this week. When, dad looked again, the mail truck had vanished and never returned. We are wondering whether this is another week where only packages through the mail are being delivered and no mailbox mail. We have not gotten any post office delivered packages this week so don't know. This has happened before along with the opposite of only getting mailbox mail and no packages or separate deliveries of each. Very strange.

I think I missed the Halloween candy question..

I must have missed it as well. I don't really buy any Halloween candy. We don't get trick or treaters so I don't bother.

Left the house early this AM, around 5:30 as I wanted to get to the two jobsites I needed to visit and get back to the office by mid-morning. I have a hair appointment at 1:30 that I can't wait to get to! After that I might not go back to the office, I might just go home and get a head start on the weekends mowing chores. Not sure if husband will be home from his short hunting trip this evening or tomorrow. Guess it depends on how they do this afternoon/evening. I stopped back by the house this morning to put the dogs out on my way back to the office. It was so nice on the back part of the porch and yard that I left them out. Each one of them meandered around to their places in the sun to nap.
No grand plans over the weekend beyond the usual. Looks like it will be nice weather-wise.

I am packed and almost ready for my mom to get me to the airport She just called and will be at my house at 4:30 AM. I was nice and got her a Panera's Orange Scone so she can have breakfast.

I will probably check in on occasion over the course of the week but no pictures til I get home unless I use my phone. I am not bringing my laptop just my I-Pad. I may regret it, we shall see.
