I need a clean, decent place to stay for 2 nights near Universal for family of 6--have checked prices on both of these and they are the same--both look pretty good on web-sites but would like any first-hand info--one thing I saw was that Quality Suites says they have a full breakfast vs. a continental breakfast at Amerisuites.
Anyone stayed at or heard anything about either of them?

Any help/comments appreciated.

I would recommend the sleep inn to everybody! It is on major blvd, very close to the Kirkman road entrance to universal. It is a new hotel, just opened August 2000. I booked a jr. suite through www.hotelkingdom.com. It had 2 queen beds and a queen sleeper sofa, microwave and small fridge. The regular rate for this room is 99/night. The discounted rate I paid was 67/night. we stayed 12 days, it was nice. The pool was kept clean, its small but certainly ok. No restaurant on site, but Wendy's is right next door, and many places to eat within walking distance.
Hope this helps !

Are you talking about the Quality Suites on Canada Ave?If you are,I've stayed there and they're GREAT!!!The rooms are large and clean-we enjoyed the breakfast daily and they have a SUPER cocktail reception nightly that was enjoyed by all in our party. The younger members had ALL the soft drinks they wanted. It's within walking distance to International Drive,so shopping and dining are made very easy! Hope you like it as much as we did!

Hi SRRN,
Is the Quality Inn That you stayed in geared up for kids?
What I mean is would you consider it a place that kids between 11-14 would enjoy staying at?
Im going in July and I have heard good things about this hotel. Thanks!:)

Hi jclll0!
The Quality Suites are geared for kids.My daughters were 11 and 14 the last time we stayed there. They wanted to sleep in the living room,on the sofa bed so they could have their "own"room with their own T.V.VCR and radio. The pool area was smaller than some of your bigger resorts but very adequate for the numbers of guests that were staying at that time. All room have a view of the pool,by the way. There's a small gift shop and arcade and as I said before, the location is great. They have buses to USF/IOA,Sea World and Wet n Wild, but we took our car.USF/IOA is only 5minutes away from this place. There's a TGI Friday's right next door ,a Chili"s restaurant, the Pirate's Adventure theater across the street,Fish bones restaurant again all within walking distance. If you like the International Drive area, but don't necessary want to stay right on it,then this is the place for you!Let me know if you decide to stay there! :D

Thanks SRRN,
I am going to stay at the Quality Suites.
Thanks for your help.
Its important to me to have a place that is not too busy after a full day at the parks.
Your description confirms this for me.
