We stayed at the Quality Inn Plaza Apr. 8th through the 11th with a rate of $39.99 including breakfast. I found the room rate through Travelzoo, originally it was the $25.00 rate but I missed that. We could have gotten the room for $29.00 without breakfast, but we didn't want to hassle with finding someplace to eat in the morning. And we did get a deal, since we payed what was essentially $10 for the buffet that normally would be $9 for each adult.
We decided to stay here because (1) We were going to Seaworld and Aquatica and not doing Disney this time. (2) We were only going to stay 3 nights (3) We wanted/needed somewhere cheap and easy. After I found the Travelzoo rate I did some homework on the Internet and found that basically it was an okay hotel with no frills. And I would agree with that statement, and I would stay there again. The hotel is in the process of renovating, and we were given an unrenovated room on the I-4 side of the building. We were right across from the pool, but the highway noise was horrible. The room was clean...ish, but it definately needed to be overhauled. The mattresses were warped and you could feel the springs but the pillows were new. The first night we were there we couldn't get the TV to work, which would have helped to drown out the highway noise, and we didn't have a key for the safe. But after we mentioned it to the front desk they fixed the problem the next day. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet, as it is a FULL buffet, not just cereal and bagels. And it was good. The dining room staff were wonderful. We had the same waiter each morning, Joseph. He greeted us with a smile each morning and was very efficient.
We did get a peek at some of the renovated rooms and if I stay here again I would demand one of those rooms. They were very nice. It appears that they are replacing everything in the rooms.
This hotel seemed very popular with British Tourists, and Mexican school groups. We didn't have any problems with the school groups, we only saw them at breakfast one morning.
I would say that even though our room was not perfect it was fine for a short, cheap stay. I ended up paying less for 3 nights with breakfast than I did for 1 night at P.O. Riverside last month.
