need to update my info on the QSDP..can you help?

is it still 2 CS, 2 snacks per night of stay plus refillable mug for each person on plan?

Are adult and children's QS credits distinguishable or are they pooled for the total party by total nights? (hope that makes sense)

Also, can anyone point me to a pic of current refillable mug?

Any new CS or or snacks that are noteworthy?

Thanks for your help!

2 CS, 2 snacks per night. 1 refillable mug per person.

The credits are not separated and your receipt will not show a separation, but you must order meals according to the listing on your key card. If it says 2 adults and 2 children on DDP, you can order 2 adult and 2 child meals. Note that Disney's written policy is that children must order from children's menus, unless the restaurant has no child's menu.

These are the new mugs:

Thank you - that info is just what I was looking for! I think the cost is high/break even, but the convenience cant be beat!
The cups seem to demand that I must stay at Beach Club...oh well, if I must!!!

I agree with convenience but last year I kept track of what it would have cost for the meals if we paid cash. In the end we got ALL of our snacks for free. 4 people / 8 days / average $3 per snack = $192 worth of free snacks.

That's if you would have ordinarily wanted to buy $192 worth of snacks.

If you read what I wrote it basically says we broke even on the meals and got $192 worth of snacks for free. It doesn't matter if I was going to buy $192 worth of snacks or not. I am stating that when "we" used it "we" got $192 worth of snacks for free. Even if I got 1 snack @ $3 I would still would have gotten a $3 snack FREE.

SO in simple terms ...... "For my family we got $192 worth of snacks FREE"

And let me tell you all those dole whips, and Mickey ice cream bars were sure good!

Yes, but if you don't really want $192 worth of snacks, then you don't need them. It was great for you, but may not work for those who are not big snack eaters. When I used the dining plan, all my snack credits went for Diet Coke because I could not eat all those snacks and didn't want to eat them at home, either (many guests love taking snacks home)

But again, would you really have ordered those exact same things if paying cash?

Yes! I like to eat. I am one of those people that can eat alot and not gain any weight. I have been 6ft 147lbs since 1994 So I tend to order big meals no matter if I have to pay or it is included. If my metabolism stops then I am going to be in big trouble. LOL

I understand what you are saying. I think you are missing the point of what I am saying. ALOT of people say you "break even" with the QSDP and I am giving an example of how a family of 4 came out ahead.
Even if you use all your snack credits for Diet Cokes each credit is still valued at $3 for each bottle of Diet Coke.

We've used the QSDP twice so far and have had the same experience, free snacks, one of which we used daily for breakfasts consisting of either muffins, bagels & cream cheese, pastries, cereal & milk. We went back to the DDP last November because it was FREE, but we much prefer QSDP.

I'm going with TDCNala on this one!

Our family does not usually eat dessert with EVERY meal, and we prefer water over soda. The only way we end up using all the snack credits is by eating things we normally wouldn't, but it is nice to be able to say "yes" for an ice cream or bag of popcorn.

However, I've poured over the menus and eating "our" way, we can eat 2-3 TS, the rest QS, and still have a snack or two for either the same or less than we would pay for the QSDP.

I am not misunderstanding you. You came out ahead because you liked the snacks and didn't skip them, trade them for lesser value items like Cokes or water, or buy them, take them home and give them away. Everyone is different. Those who say they break even would break even over what they'd normally buy. So if they don't really care about having prepaid meals otherwise, they can make the decision to not prepay and just pay for what they want as they go. Someone else may not be swayed by the opportunity to get lots of free snacks. Cokes at WDW are $2.50, not $3.

Sorry - 8 days / 2 snack credits per day /1 person= 14 credits x $2.50 = $35 of Free cokes/waters for one person. $3 was an average used for the numbers I did not keep track of ever single snack price. I know a lot of them were Dole Whip Floats which they are close to $4 maybe $4.19 (but still considered a credit even at over $4), Edy's Dips = $3.75, Box of popcorn = 3.25, Mickey Ice Cream bar = $3.50 etc. Wow we got a lot of stuff over $3 maybe I should have used a number higher than $3 so my savings look greater no I wont because I think my point of no matter if you get one snack for soda or ice cream you can be ahead is clear.

We have definitely hijacked this thread!

Disneymayz...yes, you did get $192 worth of snacks for free!

However, I can easily eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner EVERY day and stay under the cost of QSDP or right at it. OR, as I said, I can have 2-3 TS meals along with my CS meals. So it really comes down to what you want to eat with your "free" money.

Exactly. Dining plans are different things to different people and I can't state and mean it that everyone should go for the dining plan because it means you will get free stuff.

I can find ways to eat at TS twice a day and come in below what the QSDP costs per night if I want to (not including alcohol though) and I don't have to wonder what I would do with all those snacks.
