Need help, new territory for me, staying offsite for upcoming trip and need to purchase PAP-discounted one day, park-to-park tix for family members.

1) If the park opens @ 9 a.m., will the ticket windows be open earlier for purchases?

2) If so, any thoughts on 'how' early? trying to get family thru highlights of both parks and want to get them to HP asap.

3) Hoping one day, multi-park tix are included in the 10%? -
10% savings on 1-day and 15% savings on multi-day theme park tickets purchased at the front gate (up to 6 people)

4) If I buy the 1 day, multi-park and they decide upon a 2nd day, would it be upgradeable before we leave?

5) If so, would it then have to be a 2nd multi-day tix or could we add on a 2nd one day?

1. guest services outside the park open an hour prior to park opening.
check out the AP site online for passholders for ticket prices. Maybe you
can buy then and use kiosk pick up.

2. i would be at the park at 7:30 and take care of the ticket purchase then.

have the group wait in line while you are doing the tickets.

Since you are planning on parry hotter, hit that first then move towards the
front of the park. Switch to the other park then.

3. i haven't bought tickets in a long time except i did a hold on passes during
my october stay to be picked up during my january stay. (taking son on
next trip)
You can email or call the AP line for info on which deal is better for you on
buying tickets w/ your AP discount.

4. yes. you can upgrade but show your ap for the discount.

5. if you originally buy a 1 day PTP and want to add a 2nd day, that upgrade
will be PTP. you stay in the same category.
buy a single day, one park only and upgrade to a 2nd day, one park only.
or
buy a one day ptp, ugrade a 2nd day which has to be ptp also.

came back to add it will depend on the dates you are going in january if you will be facing crowds.
check out the price calendar for ep to see what is predicted by costs to help you.
last week will have more in the parks due to the hp gala of 24-26. some will come earlier than that date, some might stay longer after the gala event.

mac - thanx I had a feeling we'd be locked into upgrading a 'like' ticket.

I've dug around AP site and other than the advance purchase rate don't see any available discounts.

didn't know there was an EP calendar 'doh. will have to look for it, but the idea of paying for it when I was out-voted on staying onsite isn't going down easy. Might make people more appreciative of that perc in the future;).

glad to hear the tix counter opens early, but don't think I can muster the troops to arrive before 8 - 8:30 am but will pitch an early arrival.

i don't remember your exact darkside dates.
middle to end of january the ex pass costs are low.
$29.99 to $39.99 for parks on certain dates.
better deals on buying both park ep on same dates.

pm me your dates or post here and i will look up the ep costs for youse.

planning to try to get 'er all done on Saturday, 1/11

thought about it after reading the info u gave as to upgrading tix. think this strategy will work to keep options open?:

buy 1 day park tix for family to use @ IoA.

The crowd level should let me know if we can do the highlights of both parks that day or not or need to purchase an EP, which I think i'd only do @ Studios anyway since we wouldn't hit it until 11:30 am or so.

I will then either convert the 1 day tix to 1 day-2 parks or a 2 day tix and return for a 1/2 day the next week sometime.
