Can you make edits to the QS food, or is it mass produced and waiting for you. ie, can you get the Chicken Blue at the ABC commissary without the blue? :confused3

I like a lot of food, but rarely with everything that it comes with (remember When Harry Met Sally... no, not that scene :rotfl:, the other times she ordered food.)

I don't know about that specifically but we have gotten plain hamburgers or bacon cheeseburger (with no bacon).

They're really not all that good at special requests...they will probably do it but you will be waiting.

1) If the item is an add-on, you can request it off.
. . . eg. veggie salad, by leaving off the chicken from chicken caesar salad
. . . eg. hamburger, by leaving off the cheese from cheeseburger
2) You order it
. . . ask for it as a special item
. . . you pay at the cash register
. . . the order goes in a separate direction in kitchen
. . . order is made from scratch
. . . you wait for the selection
. . . item usually takes 10-15 minutes more than remainder of order

And please understand and stand off to the side when picking it up. There will be people coming behind you that will get their food before you. I had one woman special order something but parked her huge stroller right at the pickup window line and then complain loudly when everyone got their food before her. If you do special order something, it might be easier to do two separate orders when you get to the cashier, get the first one that's not special ordered, have the rest of your party take that and exit and then have one person wait for the special order.

Some CS locations (resorts more so than parks) cook more food "to order" so you'd have less wait at those. I'm thinking Contempo Cafe and Pepper Market as good examples of that; you shouldn't see much delay.

Sunshine Seasons and Starring Rolls would not make my dd sandwiches without the sauces. I have ordered burgers without the cheese several times and really had no extra wait for those.

I do this all the time. It take just a few more minutes. It's really no big deal and doesn't inconvience anyone. :)

Same here. Which results in me ordering my burgers without cheese, many a chicken sandwich without it, you name it. Also have subbed sides sometimes, always for something that would already be on the menu but not as that specific combo. Never had to wait any longer, "worst" would be getting my food at the same time as the person/family behind me.

Only place I've had to wait longer was at SSR when ordering a burgerpizza. Not something I was complaining about at all, those that were on the hotplate weren't looking that great anymore with that laying around. I'm sure they wouldn't hand any of those to guests when it's not safe, but seeing mine getting freshly made was a nice moment of relaxing/building up to a nice appetite and afterwards indeed finding it very yummy!

I do hit any QS on the "odd" times though, tend to avoid them during the real rush hours which will definately help out when asking for something to be left off etc.

I think the issue for these places is that at Starring Roles all the food is made at another location and at Sunshine Seasonings, at least what I remember, the sandwich was cut from a larger loaf size premade sandwich.

Its all part of how far a CS can go with special orders.

Pepper market is horrible at getting special orders correct. If it is a make or break thing, like no guacamole because your child will throw up if it is on the food or plate, DO NOT stop watching them make your food and keep telling them what you want. Or you'll have to stay there longer while they remake it.

I am the exact same way with sauces or condiment type stuff/ I've been able to order anything CS with the sauce on the side; the hummus sandwich at CHH with the slaw on the side, things like that. I"ve never had to wait any extra time for things like that. The only places I have a hard time making special orders are the CS places where you order at the computer, like at Captain Cooks.
