QA_SuzyQT has confirmed - DLR will have Pirates quest this afternoon

Went to DLR today 8/4/06 and the Pirate Quest came out at approximately 11:30am. I know it was that time because when we came in earlier at 10, it wasn't there, and we had to wait in line for POTC (which rocked), rode on HM, and ate a Dole Whip :)

Anyhow, the important information is that Question 1, is different than from WDW. All other questions are the same.

The different question is as follows:

X marks the spot known to only a few, in this pace that is depicted on the treasure map in the queue?

Cuba
Port Royale
Portobelo
Isla de Tesoro
Isla de la Juventud

(answer further down at post)

Secondly, cards are being distributed out by CM at VMK Central. One card for one ticket. They are not placed in the holders like described at WDW. I had to show my sister's AP to get a second card to do the quest. So, if going, make sure to have your other party member's tickets. I don't know if this policy will change or not. I guess your mileage may vary depending on the CM and how persuasive you are. Other than that, all is well in the land of the Mouse!

EDIT: Just wanted to edit that they do NOT scan your ticket until after you finish the quest, so you can come back a few times to pick up cards with a different CM if necessary.

Answer to question 1 is (highlight below)
Isla de Tesoro

Thanks for the answer to #1 Janomi.
I ran by to pick up the quest cards this afternoon and didn't have time to read them or turn them in, just wanted to pick some up as I had a group waiting for me at DCA. You are right, they are very strict about 1 quest card per ticket you are holding.
Also, had to sing again for an Animators desk card at DCA.......so funny! I'm glad we are able to amuse the castmembers by entertaining them.

Thanks. Based on this posting I went to dl tonight and was able to complete the pirate quest.

thanks for the update Dara and thank you for the answer to the question that was different and the info Janomi, your info and question/answer is now in the Guide for easy reference.

It is nice to see some sort of restrictions on the distribution of these cards. It is a real shame when somebody takes a ton of cards and then there are none left the rest of the day for other players who just wanted to get the one room/well for themselves.

I suppose that DLR has the restrictions because of all the ongoing issues with the Animator's Desk. To this day, I am still see a single seller with over 200+ cards listed. They don't seem to realize that other people who go DLR also would like to have a card or two.

I recently heard that WDW ran out of pirate cards for an afternoon. They have restocked but what a shame for someone who may have only been there for that day.

I wish that WDW would also put a simliar restriction and only hand out cards for each ticket.

I am so excited that the West coast DISers get a chance to have fun with this quest. I loved it myself while at WDW last week! :) Enjoy!
