At WDW the resorts with the murphy bed in the studios are VWL, VGF (also has a murphy bed in 1BR), PVB, and soon to be at BWV. In 2016 BCV should be getting them.

The resorts with pull out chair in the 1BR or dedicated 2BR are AKV-Kidani, BLT, and OKW. All view types have these chairs. Note the values are at AKV-Jambo House which does not have the chairs. It has not been announced if any other resorts will get the murphy beds. Personally I hope this is it.

I think some of the resort's rooms simply aren't big enough to warrant adding those big sleeper chairs and/or the pull-down beds…. I can't imagine them ever fitting in a sleeper chair in the SSR living rooms.

I don't have a problem with it. I wouldn't put 5 people in a studio but as the parent of a 12-year old and a 14-year old, I'd much rather put them on separate beds rather than forced to share the sofa. We don't spend a lot of time in Studios but it's nice to have this option now. And I don't think the redesigns take anything substantial away from the rooms.

Yes, this is what I was going to say. My girls (8 & 10) do not like sharing a bed. They will, but I would it would be nice if they had options. I know it is not a big problem to have.

I'm at VWL now and couldn't disagree more. The table where I would sit at while on my computer is parked right under the TV making it very uncomfortable to sit at and also watch and the only outlet I can find would be the one the TV is plugged into. I'm sorry but I bought a resort with a certain configuration. If they design and sell a new configuration that's fine but continue to disagree with increasing occupancy at the older resorts. If they are now providing the separate beds that you wish to have at some of the resorts that should be fine to cover the wishes of those who want or need the separate beds but retro fitting in to all comes at the expense of how others like to enjoy their stay.

This. I bought a resort because of the styling and configuration at that resort. If they want to change it at future resorts, that's fine. But I don't like that I have to pay for renovations for changes that don't matter to me. It's not what we purchased.

I find that the lack of drawer space that is convenient to use is a substantial disadvantage to using these rooms. I would prefer not to have rooms with this configuration. I would be very upset if they decided to try this at the BLT studios where we own.

I don't think they could do this in BLT studios. You couldn't get a drawer open on the bedside closest to the wall. No space to open a drawer there.

OKW doesn't have a wall long enough to put the murphy bed on. The dresser with the television is on a very short wall. Same with the wall with the table and chairs. Thank goodness.

The nice thing is that OKW villas are large enough they could add the sleeper chairs without eating into the living space much at all.

They already added the twin sized sleeper chair into OKW one bedroom and larger. But not in the studio. Not enough room.

Hi Deb&Bill. Yep, I know. That's my home resort since '93. I reread what I wrote and I can certainly see where it could be taken that I did not know that. :o What I meant was past tense that "they could" add the sleeper chairs because the space is so big it didn't eat into the living space. Thanks for clarifying what I initially meant.

LOL KAT4DISNEY! Hopefully DVC will not get that carried away.

I just do not understand why DVC has decided to make studios, the smallest unit, sleep more guests than the 1BR? DVC really couldn't figure out a murphy bed that would fit all the 1BR's living rooms? But thought nothing of taking away the separate table with chairs in the studio and attach a table to the murphy bed under the TV right in the walk way area to exit the room? It sounds more like what you would do in a value resort room IMO not a deluxe room. The fall issue of Disney Files has photos of the BWV remodel. Have you noticed that DVC never shows the entire room in photos when the murphy table is up and chairs are in place? Only a photo showing the close up the table and chairs. Probably because there is no walkway around it and the room looks extremely crowded.

My kids loved the Dixie Landings trundles back in their day, and now, my grandkids fight over the pulldowns. I vote for a handful of pulldown bed villas at each DVC resort. Keep everybody happy.

I too think they could have found something that worked in the 1br's @DenLo instead of the studios. And with that making 5 in a unit with 2 rooms wouldn't have had quite the issue with the change especially as long as all existing components like a free standing table were kept.

Yikes!!!! Don't give them any ideas.

Lol, sorry about that!

I agree the table on the Murphy bed thing is awful. They are upgrading a far too small space to sleep 5 but adding a table that will barely sit 2. We would really miss the freestanding table and think they are ruining the studios with this modification.
