After a few weeks off Atkins due to abdominal surgery, I am almost ready to restart. Any tips? Is it any easier/harder the second time around? Does the weight come off in a similar pattern? I did regain 5 of the 60 pounds I had lost in six months, mainly due to restricted activity, I think. I'd like to lose 60 more in the next six months. Thanks for any advice/encouragement!

I restarted myself just this week! I'm down 6 pounds this morning! Just start with Induction again. The weight will probably come off just a little bit slower than it did the first time, but I'm sure you'll see success right away! Remember, the closer you get to your goal weight, the slower it comes off. Don't let yourself get discouraged by this. You're doing great! Those 5 pounds will come off in the first couple of days, and you'll be on your way to the next 60! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I have restarted...it took about a week for the extra pounds to come off, and then I was right back in a regular losing weight schedule...no problem at all.

I just have to remember...I didn't gain the weight all in one day...I can't lose it all in one day.

good luck to you!

Email or Pm me if you want someone to team up with. I had a hysterectomy on 7/18 and have not gotten back on track yet. I am planning on going back tomorrow. I'm going to also use the cheat free star challenge as a motivator and begin to do my daily WISH journalling again.

My loss has been slow but I had stuck it out. From June 2002 until July 2003 I was down 40 pounds with another 60-70 to go! So I won't be leaving anytime soon!
:D

Yeah, I had a hard time starting up again after vacation. I kept meaning to go back on induction, but never did. I'm back to eating what I was eating before vacation, meaning that I eat a little bit of fruit every day and maybe a crisp bread or other low-carb bread item. Good luck! (I hear going back to induction is the best way to re-start!)

It is difficult getting back to induction but once you do, the weight will drop just as it did for you before.

My problem returning to Atkins is that I am not as strict with Induction as I should be............I am creeping into it this week. I began Monday after 17 days at WDW just eating away (and having a blast!!). I am hoping that by next Monday I will be strict into Induction and stay that way for 2 weeks..........

Good luck, you can do it.

Thanks for the encouragment. I THINK it will be fairly easy to get back into strict induction - it would be great if the pounds come off just as easily this time (with relatively little headache - I was lucky last time!)
